A year after purchasing our home, a windstorm left our roof and siding damaged. Water leaked in through a crack and destroyed the ceiling. We were recommended Stafford Home Improvements by many of our neighbors. Chris and his team did a phenomenal job repairing our roof and kitchen. I used Stafford Home Improvements several years ago based on recommendations within my neighborhood for a project that quickly went beyond my capabilities. Chris Ellis is the owner and was recommended by name from several people. In my case, I was trying to repair a soffit that had wood rot. I realized the damage was bigger than a quick repair and the gutter needed to be removed, most of my soffit needed replaced, and the addressing where the leak was coming from was more than I could do on my own. I wanted the repairs done to code and with higher quality materials and attention. Chris (the owner) came out and assessed and quickly estimated what needed to be done. He then walked around the house to check for additional issues and noticed two items that needed replaced (the boots around vents on roof). The soffit was repaired over a few days to include painting.

It’s now been a few years and those repairs still look great. I recently had wind damage loosening the vinyl siding at the highest point on my two-story house. I didn’t want to go up on a ladder 30-40 feet and try to do the repairs myself. I also had another second story gutter that I wanted checked. I reached out to Chris with my issues. He quickly responded and coordinated for a date and time. He and his crew just finished fixing my vinal siding. While my gutter was fine, he noticed a few damaged shingles and repaired them on the spot. Very professional and top quality. Stafford Home Improvements is a great company and trusted to work on my house.

Chris helped me out with a hole in the roof. Came over one evening just to help out with a temp patch because rain was coming. Came back later and permanently repaired it and also put in some gutters for me. Communicates well and makes sure the job is done right. Honest guy and a fair price. Would recommend him to anyone.

Chris and his team did a rather large renovation for us, and knocked it out the park. They converted our existed garage into multiple additional rooms, along with other work throughout the house including a pantry expansion, closet addition and new siding/gutters. My first encounter with Chris and his team was a roof leak the day we came home from the hospital with a new baby years ago. We could not get other contractors to jump on the small repair, but he listened to our situation, changed his schedule, and handled it the same day. The best example I can give was during our kitchen remodel, when Chris came by on a Sunday to drop off supplies for his team that week. He took one look at the ceiling paint job and decided it was not up to his standard. We thought it looked great, but he pointed out details that I never would have noticed and made his team do the work again to get it right. They are true professionals and have the best quality to cost ratio that I have found to this day.

After 17 years, I needed to replace 2 gates and a 5 foot section of my wood fence. Reached out to a few fence companies, but they were either not available for 5-6 months or were not interested in a small job. We recently purchased a home in South Stafford/Fredericksburg. Whoever installed the whole home water filter for the previous owner was NOT great. When I changed the filter the outlet piping started to leak, then the inlet leaked when I tried to fix the outlet, then the filter bowl leaked...well you get the idea.
Chris had his guys out and the job completed literally in 48 hours total time!

We selected Chris and Stafford Home Improvements to install new flooring and baseboards in our entire lower level, install new window time and paint the sill white, whitewash our entire brick fireplace and repair a rotted piece of wood on our exterior near the roof. The work was started and completed on time and everyone showed up each day on time and worked efficiently. On 9/1, Stafford Home Improvements (SHI), License# 2705175607A, delivered professional services and competitive pricing from my initial consultation with Chris, project manager, through the experienced, quality craftsmanship of Chris’ team who installed my new dehumidifier, water condensation exhaust hose that was routed to the existing sump pump system, extended the exterior sump pump water exhaust line across the yard, installed a custom made crawlspace door, and installed custom well cover after installing the new well! Then the 2 person team added 57 wash gravel to the bottom of the pit. The job was completed in 1 day, and they did a fantastic job of clean up! We have been using Stafford Home Improvements for jobs around our home for several years. We have always been extremely pleased and never disappointed with their work. This was made even more apparent when they recently built our new fence. They had a difficult task with it, having to remove the old, work around the concrete for that one and deal with the neighbors fence that had been built over onto our property. They took their time, working long days in 80-90 degree weather. It is very well built and sturdy and looks great also. We will be bringing Chris's team back for all our home improvements, both indoors and out.

Stafford Home Improvements was recommended to me by a friend and I hired Chris and his team for a siding job recently. His schedule was full yet he took the time to come and secure siding that had broken away from the house. This happened as the weather had started turning cold. He didn't brush me off, he was concerned that my house would be in good condition for the coming cold and snow. He quoted me a very good price. I knew I had other issues such that needed to be addressed (rotting wood on some windows, damage to my chimney aluminum siding, and missing siding near a soffit). Chris gently reminded me that this work should also be done in order to keep the house safe, secure and warm for the winter. Again, he quoted me a very good price for the work and within the following week, took care of those issues. I can now breathe easier knowing that I won't have to worry about weather damage and deteriorating conditions of my home. We needed a repair on weathered 6" beveled red cedar siding. Repairs were prompt and thorough. Professional craftsman were exceptional. We are already considering another project!

When it rains it pours. We had several things on our home break in short order, to include our downspout detached at the top, our shutter flew off in a storm, my son broke one of the undermount porcelain sinks in our master bath, and somehow my wife cracked the shower pan while cleaning it. I called Chris at Stafford Home Improvement and he provided us with a fair quote for the amount of work involved. Within a few days his crew had fixed the downspout and the shutter while we were at work. He worked within my schedule to fix the sink and the shower pan. The two members of his team that came over to do the remainder of the work were on time, friendly, and professional. The first day they worked for a straight 9 hours! They left the house clean and the only way you knew they had even been there was that everything was fixed and looked like new. Thanks again to Chris and his team. We will definitely have them do more work in the future and I highly recommend him and his team to anyone looking for a talented and professional crew.

Have hired Chris from Stafford Home Improvements for numerous jobs, from big to small. To date he and his crew have built and installed a gorgeous Trex deck with two stair cases and lighting system (many compliments from friends & neighbors); repaired roof leaks in two areas with corresponding inside drywall repair that another company incorrectly repaired (twice); repaired broken fence door; repaired termite damage around two-door garage; installed 75 rolls of insulation in attic; installed outdoor security light with long electrical run; installed “hidden” wall outlet for hanging TV; and hung Christmas lights on our two-story high pitched roof. All jobs were professional, clean, and with no complaints. Well, with exception of one incident but was immediately addressed and remedied. Had checked estimates for a couple of the projects with other handyman and brand name “depot” stores in the area but Chris beat them every time. Have come to trust and only use this company for our household repair and project needs that I’m unable to tackle on my own. Can’t praise Chris and his company enough!
