Had them put a ramp on my deck needed it done quickly they were out in a matter of 2 days had the ramp done in a day and a half very pleased with there work would recommend them and I would use them again.

We hired Shaun and his crew from S & M Handyman Services recently to help renovate and modernize our home at Lake Anna. Shaun was very prompt in meeting with us and discussing our needs and desires. We had 3 projects in mind, and after getting his very reasonable estimate, we had them start right away on all of them. They set our kitchen cabinets, did a beautiful job adding new windows, and last but not least, designed and installed a cable rail system for our stairs. All the work was done professionally and in a timely manner. Shaun was always willing to take a call and discuss changes or additional items and work up an estimate by the next day. Needed a couple roof shingles reinstalled that had blown off in a storm. Contacted the company yesterday and they came out first thing this morning to reinstall the shingles. Shingles were on a steep section of the roof and it took the technician little to no time to get up there and get the job done. Great price and quality work. Recommend to all.

We started with a major structural repair and ended with a great screened porch. Great workmanship and excellent customer service.

Freshened up an old full bathroom with fiberglass tub to a modern Low thrush hold shower with sliding glass doors including strong grab bars that add to the showers appeal, renewed the toilet to a comfort height large oval non clogging toilet and replace wash basin sink with a modern faucet. Also add a new half bath in the master bedroom with sink with hose faucet and a large matching toilet. Comfort and convenience in classic home that needed updating. This was done with perfection at every step.

All work done was was very nice and end product was beautiful Any change we made were always done easily and quickly one big thing for me was there was always communication and calls were always returned and taken care of we would recommend and use him again..

Renovations aren't fun, but, if you need anything done, Shaun's team is the one to go with. I heard horror stories of people paying, and the contractors never showed up. This was not at all the case with Shaun. He texts in advance to tell you which guys would be there, what time, and what they would be doing. The guys were all courteous and personable, even going so far as showing my little boy some tips of the trade-- now he wants to be a "worker." We had plenty of random things come up (issues from the previous owner's DIY attempts), and Shaun always had a guy who could fix it. HVAC, plumbing, floors, electrical, mud and drywall, paint... It was intense, then (after they were done with everything) the outdoor pumps started bursting underground, and he fit us in emergently. I think that just about sums it up!

These guys are the best! They remodeled our bathrooms perfectly and made sure we were happy every step of the way. They were all so friendly and cleaned up to minimize any dust. I would definitely recommend them for any remodel or repair. They also did drywall repair and replacing a window with a door as well as painting. They do an excellent job!

Shaun, one of the owners is very professional and flexible. Always responsive to my questions and completed all my projects on time and was flexible with my schedule and payment. My favorite 2 projects that he and his team did was that they knocked out a window and replaced it with an entry door to the basement and replaced our outdoor stair railings. Shaun himself was hands on at times as well! Thank you Shaun and team on all of your hard work!

We had 2 pipe fitting leaks under our vacant rental property. Called Handyman and was told the would be out at 8am. Ended up being 2:30pm. The guys went under the house and came back with their fix plan. It was approved and in less than 30mins they were done. A third item was added post work as we had a disconnect (hole) of one 6 " duck work lines from the floor register. It was taped up with 8 or so wraps. The pipe joints were replaced and everything was done. 25 min job. The problem was we were billed $575.00 ! 2 pipe fittings and 1 duct wrap in 25 mins for $575.00. Not even close to being way over priced. Never again. Get your job quote before the work starts. Beyond unbelievable.

They filled in the gaps that I couldn’t see - that perhaps I needed more recessed lighting in the kitchen, for example, because there isn’t a whole lot of natural light. Or that we could remove the floor heaters entirely to free up space. They didn’t serve a purpose anymore and it’s those seemingly small details that when added up, make an enormous difference.

Last but absolutely not least, the work: What was once a cute but somewhat outdated home is now exceptional. The results are stunning and the work speaks for itself. S&M repaired a leaks we had on a main water line. They were very responsive and helped schedule us between other appointments. The repair tech was very knowledgeable and worked quickly to repair the leak and also gave us advice on what work we will need in the future to replace some faulty pipes we inherited.

We contacted Shaun to get a quote on removing our old carpet from our basement as well as our staircase. He provided great insite into what type of flooring and what quality we should get. He also advised us to use floor and decor to help save on material expenses. Once we received our material, Shaun and his crew wasted no time starting the demolition stage. Within the first day, they removed the old carpet and began laying the new vinyl flooring. They laid more than half of the basement floor in just the first day. The following day, the crew arrived early and laid the rest of the basement floor. Shaun showed up a little later to begin installing the oak retread and risers on our staircase. Yes, S & M Handyman service can complete your task list! We have a home at Lake Anna but we are not there full time. Have asked S & M handyman service company be my right hand crew to look after the home. Allowing renters to use the property would not be possible without them. There have been a few times that renters have called with issues and S & M has ensured everything is handled timely. Not just odd jobs, recently had them completely redesign our garage into a functional and finished work space. Everything from the quote, to purchasing product, delivery, installation, coordination, organization etc. they handled every aspect. I simply cannot say, "Thank You" enough to Shaun and his crew. Paid 250 bucks and would think
I would have had a fully working toilet when he left. I still had to finish fixing it myself the next day. Such a rip off. His response was i need a new toilet. Probably so I would give him more money. It was an 8 dollar fix but the point was I still had to do it myself when I already paid $250 bucks for 30 minute job.

Shaun's team replaced deck boards and a full set of custom deck stairs. The steps installed by another contractor were far too steep and were not level. Shaun's guys fixed it all in a half day and the stairs are to code and perfectly level! They are punctual, fast, professional, and do quality affordable work!

I’ve used Shaun and his team for several years and they have done projects from trim repair, siding repair, painting, drywall repair, French door and window install, fireplace removal, to a full master bath remodel. We had S & M replace a vanity top in our bathroom and replaced water fixtures. They then came back at our request to replace two toilets. We have been very pleased and plan on using them for other projects. Shaun and his employees have been very courteous and a pleasure to know.

Shaun and his guys are very knowledgeable and competent in completing any job task b4 them. Shaun had to move a water heater back in place from where it originally was--due to black mold. He cut out the mold, wiped it clean and sprayed and later came by to place the water heater in it's old spot and you would not be able to tell it was ever moved! His guys have installed everything from doorknobs to tub drain, floorboards under sink, and even a beautiful john louis closet. His prices are fair and work is reputable. Would definitely recommend.

Had someone else start the job was not satisfied and it was unfinished S and M came in and fixed the others mistakes and remodeled the kitchen and they did amazing could not have asked for better all the workers were very professional and knowledgeable all work was done on time I highly recommend S and M

I hired Shawn and his crew to remodel my kitchen, the only thing I kept was my ceiling fan. His price was fair, and they did a wonderful job. Very happy with my new kitchen. He always let me know when they were coming and the time. His communication with me was superb. I could talk to him about everything I wanted and twice or more his suggestions were better than mine. He responded right away and came out to give me an estimate for multiple jobs I needed to have done around my lake property prior to putting it on the market. His pricing is very fair and his work is high-quality. He updated me each day and sent pictures of the work he completed. Highly respectful and easy to work with. He always let me know before he was arriving and was very prompt. I had to add on a few additional jobs as we went along and it was never a problem. He’s more than happy to do whatever needs to be done to make sure his customers are satisfied. My work included leveling a dock, electrical work, removing an old treehouse and hauling it away, installing flashing on a deck, and removal of a lot of debris. He also cleaned the gutters on all the outer buildings on my property.

Door install not the best experience.

Well because you decide to reply like you went above and beyond.

First call the owner for a appraisal and he never came. He ask for my email to send a contract and never send it. He said the doors are standard and to measure it. I measure the door and told him the measurements and he said that the measurements wasn't correct. He said it should be Standard and told me what door to buy without comming. The owner send two of his employees that never measure the old door before taking it out. After removal of the old door the guys find the new door doesn't fit. I was in training and meeting from work that day and the owner send his employees to find a door. His employees went and got another door and by the way the door was way smaller, becuase.is a old style. I also pay for gas as they request. They install the door and left it all mess up. The door wasn't shim correctly so it didn't align and they proceed to told me that the problem was my house. I call them back and they couldn't figure it out. I wait until the week pass completely because, i continued busy from work that week. I spoke with the owner and explain the problem. He want to send the same guys over. I told him that they couldn't figured the last two times what will be a different now. I told him to come himself and fix it. The owner came and shim the door, but never fix all the mess of his employees. He returns me $ 50 dollar, but we never discussed anything else. His employees mess the door up making the hole of the lock bigger for not reason. This cause to break into the door that you can see the light from outside coming into the house. The fix for this cauking the hole. I just want that everyone know incase they hired you. It wasn't the best experience. If you came in the beginning like everyone do and measure must of it could be prevented. Thanks for everything.

Put simply, they are THE BEST! We hired them to install our kitchen sink and 3 light fixtures. Sink went in fast and turned out beautiful. The lights were a different story. Those guys chased a gremlin for HOURS! I thought for sure they were going to have to rewire the whole circuit. But to my surprise, having checked nearly the whole house, they found a small short, in a closet of all places, where the sheathing had to be pulled back to find it. Unbelievable! Genius really!!!
This company, and everyone who works there is honest, hard working, considerate, professional and damn good at their job. Whatever the task, they're up for it! Best of all, they don't charge you an arm and a leg! Call them! Hire them! You won't be disappointed!

We hired this firm from a post that we came across on Craig's List. They came out and gave us a quote on redoing our outdated bath room and we are beyond please of the quality of work that S&M Handyman does. They had to rip out a bathroom that was at least 50+ years old and basically start from scratch and the result was nothing short but amazing. In addition they added a powder room to the room that used to be a closet in the main bathroom.

Bottom line these guys are great and if you are looking for a local firm to do work around your home that aren't going to break the bank or cut corners then S&M Handyman is the firm you need to call.

In fact we already have re-hired them to do our kitchen in the fall.
