Disappointing experience for a returning customer.

Worked with McKinnis a few years ago on roof replacement. Had good experience. Called them recently following the storms. At my initial call indicated, I was a returning customer. Had to follow up a couple times to get someone to come
out to my house. Person came, inspected the roof/house, indicated he will work with insurance adjuster. Gave the McKinnis employee at least 5 days heads up on when insurance adjuster will be coming. On the day of, McKinnis guy sends a replacement, that guy had no clue about the issues or any interest in the job. Tried to get McKinnis’ maintainance team to come and patch up a spot until everything is finalized, but unfortunately kept getting nowhere on that. Overall, disappointing experience…

My house was not an easy project - asbestos siding, lead paint and decking problems. All of the project managers were very good, especially Luke. Any concerns were immediately addressed. Very happy with results. Steve B.

I recently had McKinnis replace all of the vinyl siding on my home’s exterior. I’m giving them 5 Stars here, because they were pretty terrific. First and foremost, I had 5 companies give me estimates for the cost of the job. McKinnis came in with a bid that beat the next best one by over $7,000. Based on that alone, I would recommend them, but they had some other great features too. Their office staff was responsive and helpful. The superintendent Brian, who oversaw the job, was attentive conscientious. Finally, Carlos, the foreman of the crew doing the labor, was easy to work with, polite, and willing to go the extra mile to get the job done right. And yeah, the finished product looks beautiful. McKinnis gave my home the curb appeal it had been missing.

I have 35+ years experience in property management including currently owning multiple Commercial properties. McKinnis Roofing was exceptional throughout the entire project. Believe me, I have had a few unpleasant experiences in Commercial roofing. However, McKinnis roofing was a breath of fresh air to work with, Bidding process was outstanding with Bryan Adams even though my insurance company was difficult. Project Manager Dustin kept me informed with updates and pictures. Workers were pleasant to communicate with, did great work and cleaned up very well. Nicole in Billing is great to work with.

McKinnis installed a new commercial roof and gutters for my business. The work and materials are top notch. In addition, Andy did a great job keeping me in the loop with daily communication throughout the project. I would (and probably will) use KcKinnis' services again!

Mc Kinnis is the absolute worst … unprofessional, careless, and rude.

As if having a fire the day after Christmas wasn’t traumatic enough, McKinnis made it terrible. Cameron swooped in 2 days after the fire and made big promises and talked a big game.

Aaron was my original project manager, who was kind and considerate. However, there was so little communication from him to all the trades who came in and out of my home that this project became awful. Aaron made multiple promises to complete the work. When he was fired, Cameron swooped in and denied all of the work that Aaron had promised and charged me way over my original bill.

The tradesmen who tramped in and out never wore foot coverings, tracking dirt and leaves in the house daily. They said they would clean it up at the end, but that never happened. Spindles were broken off my oak railing and they shoved a bobby pin inside to “fix” it. They never told me when they were coming so our house alarm was activated multiple times resulting in the police showing up at my house. Doors and windows were left unlocked multiple times when the trades were leaving for the day so I’d come home with my kids to a home that was unsecure. The lockbox they hung up was left open multiple times, with the code readable to get a key into my home. Empty pizza boxes and pop bottles were left in my kitchen regularly. They also used my toilets and had worse aim than my 3 year old, so I’d clean up grown man piss every day. Trash and chemicals were left in the bathtub where my child bathes and no information on how to clean it out.

There was never a sit-down meeting. Everything was done over text or informal conversation. I had to request meetings and even then it was like they didn’t have time for it. Cameron was arrogant, disrespectful and treated me like a naive idiot. His comments were always filled with sarcasm and very derogatory. I have never been spoken to the way he spoke at me. It got so bad, I started having a third party on the phone with me. Eventually, I refused to speak with him. Nicole handled the communication after that. Beware, if you are a single female… do not agree to meetings with Cameron alone.

They worked in my home for 7 months on a BATHROOM. And still didn’t finish. I had to get other contractors to finish the vanity install, faucets, flooring, plumbing, HVAC, and did the cleaning myself.

This company was awesome from the very beginning. Cole was professional and patient. Answered all our questions and was true to his word. Everything was just as it was explained to us. Very refreshing in this day! Installation crew were impeccable. Will highly recommend them to anyone- and have already. Thanks for an awesome experience.

Willard and Luis were personable and professional. Kept us informed and did an awesome job. Will definitely use McKinnis again.

I had an appointment at 5 pm, Tim called to say he was going to be out in the morning instead because it was supposed to be 100 degrees out which was fine. I was home all day anyway, no one showed. When I called, he stated he did come out and didn't see damage. I told them no one had been to my house, I would have seen them/heard them and my dog would have barked and that didn't happen nor did I hear anyone on my roof. He stated he didn't get on my roof, now how would they know if I had hail damage if they don't go inspect the roof as that was what the appointment was for. I know I have hail/wind damage as I can see it myself and I have a shingle that blew off. I couldn't believe he had the audacity to lie about being here to inspect. He offered to come back out but NO Thanks, he lost business for his company.

It started out good, they were recommended by my insurance and the salesperson (retired a week after) was really helpful and seemed to want to help me by offering additional services I could add on. Once he was done it went down hill. None of these additional add-ons were on the table anymore and they ignored me every time I would ask saying that they'd get back to me, then never did. Throughout the process they seemed to act like I had no business in what happens to my house and it was just between them and the insurance company. A couple times they tried to skip things they billed my insurance for, I'd ask about them, get ignored. Then I'd have to halt them working, they'd bring in a manager who'd then agree it was reasonable to ask and they did the things they were charging for. Maybe I just got a bad project manager, but I felt largely ignored and excluded from what was going to be done to my house. The work was overall seemed fine, customer service was bad.

I lost my siding on my house on April 22 and the piece just got replaced by Mckinnis. I am just thrilled at the work done by Willard and his partner. I will use them again when needed. This is a professional place to use. Love it much.

McKinnis is a wonderful company with great employees who care about you and work very hard to help you with your home improvement needs.

Mckinnis came out, gave me an estimate to replace the roofs on my house and 2 Morton Bldgs after a severe hail storm. They worked with my insurance company and everything went smoothly. Work was done quickly and checked on during the install. No problems, would recommend them to anyone.

I've used Mckinnis Roofing for a new roof, gutters and gutter guards twice in the past 15 years. McKinnis repaired an entire side of our building, replacing dock doors and concrete. They were very professional and fast resulting in minimal disruption of business. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for any roofing or building repairs.

I had a leak at my commercial metal building and needed repair. I contacted McKinnis Inc to ask them to inspect and after their report, including pictures of the damage, hired them to make repairs. I was more than satisfied at their quick response, fair price, and picture evidence of not only the damaged sections, but repairs made. I would highly recommend this company to anyone with roof damage.

I've got to say that Jeff and the young man that was with him worked extremely hard. They were here for three whole days and worked the entire time. They were courteous and professional and answered all my questions. Really just a great experience with this crew.

My husband Kirby and I had McKinnis restoration help us with our main line pipe clog that overflowed in our house in July 2018-2019.  It took about a year to get the damage restored due to scheduling, the recent major flood, and our insurance company. We also had 3 other things go wrong with the house at the time including our master shower failing and going through our garage, plus a sump pump issue, and additional mold we found that their mitigation team took care of.  There were some issues with the subcontractors for our flooring. They would immediately respond to us and assist in making it right.  Mitch, Cameron, and Travis were great in helping us through all the issues of our home from the clog, which there were a ton! Pretty sure they will never forget our house! It's been over a year since they finished and we have really enjoyed, basically a brand new house, which included 3 bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen and the entire basement they helped restore.  They are very knowledgeable in all aspects of the process, including dealing with our insurance company and overwhelmed homeowners.  When we think back of how much they really did for us, they really went above and beyond for our home. For example, when the ice started melting really quick, our garage was starting to flood from our back door. We had cameras and Cameron and Travis immediately grabbed brooms to try and sweep it out and called me right away. Please let them know that we are really thankful for what all they did as it was a hectic time and feel we really didn't get to say that. We are extremely happy with our restoration.

Thank you for responding after hours (11pm) and coming out first thing the next day on a weekend to remove the ice dam on our roof that was leaking in!! You were amazing.

I contacted Mckinnis Roofing as they did my roof a few years back. I was looking to complete the last section of gutter guards above my garage. Joey reached out the same say after my request. Came out two days later to meet with me. Explained everything in detail and went above and beyond to help me remove a section of my Christmas lights. Then called me the morning of my install and let me know what the plan was as snow was still in my gutters. They came and cleaned off a bunch of snow, then came back a several hours later after the sun melted and completed the project. Knocked on my door after the install to explain what they did and had me verify everything was taken care of. Over all excellent experience and would recommend Mckinnis Roofing to family and friends!

McKinnis Inc replaced our old asbestos roof this year. They did a fantastic job and we got the new roof just in time for snow. No more ice dams and leaking through the garage. We chose Belaforte Slate to match our home and it looks terrific!

It's rare to find a company that is first rate from inspection and bid to the final nail, but McKinnis
did every step at top quality, even finishing up on Saturday before a significant rain. The estimator clearly explained work needed and determined existing roofing is holding up despite some age. Very valuable information. We could not be happier!

Great experience with everyone I spoke with in the company. Brad was very personal and responsive with my questions. The office was very patient with my claim and worked with the many questions I had. They came on time as expected and finished within the time frame quoted even with a little bit of weather hiccups along the way. I would highly recommend this company and will plan on using them again for any future repairs!

very happy with these guys. roof and windows got hit hard by many 2019 hailstorm. joey swafford worked really hard with the insurance company and kept us informed of what was going on. they took care of the roof AND the windows. the crews were nice guys and cleaned up after themselves. excellent project management

PS I have been waiting for 2 months for McKinnis to fix their shoddy installation of a roof. In the meantime siding has begun blowing off, due to THEIR improper installation of the replacement roof (which now needs to be torn off and replaced).
