I couldn’t have picked a better contractor for my home remodel. Ruben was on top of every detail and truly knew every aspect of the construction process. He kept me in the loop every step of the way and made sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. The cabinets especially blew me away they came out better than I ever expected. Top notch craftsmanship and professionalism. I’ll be referring him out every chance I get!

After dealing with a flaky company that wasted my time, Matador Construction LLC was a breath of fresh air. They got me scheduled right away and were incredibly responsive and professional from the start. The project involved repairing water damage in my restroom, and not only did they do an amazing job, but they completed it quickly and efficiently. They truly went above and beyond—providing a fresh coat of paint that transformed the space and made it look even better than before. If you want quality work done right the first time, Matador Construction LLC is the way to go!

The work that Matador did was great. All of their employees do great work and take care of business.

However, Ruben's attitude and communication skills are sorely lacking. We had our hardwood floors replaced along with a few walls and a cabinet from a flood. Since we had to move everything out of our house to have the flooring done, I asked Ruben if we could leave the elevated things in closets and pantries since they were off the floor. He assured me that everything would be covered with plastic during the demo. NONE OF IT WAS DONE. Not a single closet or pantry had any plastic during the demo. I had to spend HOURS of my own time dusting everything off. When I complained about it, his fix was to add plastic to only the pantry AFTER the demo was completed.

Then when it came time to settle up the bill, they were very aggressive. They tried charging me for things that were not in the contract, saying that if the insurance company wasn't paying, than I had to. Our contract specifically stated that any additional charges must be approved by us before any work was to be done. They went ahead an completed $2000 worth of additional work without our approval (which was only a phone call away).

Ruben also had no problem cussing me out on the phone when I put up resistance to their out of contract work. They didn't even complete all the work they said they would because of the shouting match we had. Totally unprofessional on every level!

If you decide to go with them, make sure you keep really good tabs on Ruben, or else he will do whatever he wants without keeping you in the loop at all. One of the reasons I went with them in because of their good Google reviews, complimenting his communication. Don't be fooled. The only reason he's even getting 2 stars is because of his workers.

I couldn’t be happier with the custom kitchen cabinets Matador built for me! From start to finish, their team was professional, detail-oriented, and committed to bringing my vision to life. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and the quality of the materials they used is outstanding. They were also great at communicating throughout the process and completed the job on time. Due to a recent calamity I had with our water heater, I was in need for timely and professional repairs to the raised platform for the water heater and adjacent drywall.
Timely repairs was of the essence. Our insurance agent shared a few reputable companies with me. I googled them and chose Matador Construction and the favorable reputation that Ruben and
his company has had in the Phoenix area.

We have recently worked with Ruben , Joanna and Geraldo of Matador Construction and were not disappointed! Unfortunately we had a plumbing issues in our master bathroom and Matador was highly recommended to us. The same day we made a call in, Ruben and Joanna were in communication and scheduling an inspection with us. Ruben arrived on time on said date and was very Personable, detailed with the plan of action and was as accommodating as possible during the Thanksgiving Holiday. We ordered our material beforehand and Matador offered to pick it up for us so that there was no inconvenience on our end.

The work was completed nicely and in the specified timeframe. Geraldo blended our floors well to the areas that was not impacted. We didn’t have any paint or the name of the one used , but it was no issue- he matched it so well that we couldn’t even tell where the new paint started and ended. Same goes with the repair of Sheetrock, tape and texture! This team has answered all of our questions, addressed our concerns and we can’t Thank them enough!

Ruben came and put our house back together after we had a fire. He finished when he said he would finish which we all know never happens. After he was done we had a flood from a clogged pipe. (Not his fault, just a 20 year old house) I panicked and called Ruben. He came over quickly with a couple guys from his team, air movers in hand. They helped us figure out where the water was coming from and let us borrow the air movers for the weekend. He didn’t charge for this, he just showed up to help! This is the type of guy you want on your house remodel. Cynthia in his office is also amazing to work with too!

Had a great experience with Matador construction they came out gave me a quote and remodeled my bathroom in a timely manner would recommend and use again!

Matador did a wonderful job cleaning up and putting back together our master bath, bedroom and closet after rain damage to our condo.
We weren’t here when all the work was completed but were very satisfied when we arrived the end of February.
I requested they put grab bars in the shower for my 91 year old husband.
They said, “We can do that!”
Gerado came out and installed the bars and cleaned up every where it was needed.
No job too small or too big.
Cynthia, the office manager always responded to my phone calls and e-mails.
I’m going to have them do some extra work in our other bathroom and expect the same professional work.

We had a large section of our wall and ceiling removed due to water damage. In trying to get the drywall put back and the load bearing beam repaired, Matador was the only company I could get to come out and provide a quote for repair. Ruben, the Owner, is impressively responsive to calls and texts, despite how busy he is. I had many questions throughout the process and he always made time to speak with me and answer my questions thoroughly. Ruben is also an honest guy you can actually trust (a rare find in this industry) and it was the most important quality in my search. Furthermore, he is an expert in his trade with the knowledge and skills needed to perform high quality work.

Matador did a outstanding job with the damage we had. I had some repair work done which included drywall, painting, texturing matching, garage and kitchen cabinets. I am very pleased with the quality of the work done and the professionalism of the team. You cannot see any variance in the original and repaired sections - all the textures and finishes match perfect. Ruben the owner was exceptional - highly recommend him. Omar, the cabinet designer, did an amazing job matching the new cabinets to the existing ones. (not an easy task). His attention to detail was exemplary - highly recommend. We had Matador do a total remodel of our 3700 sqft home including full kitchen cabinets and countertops, master bath etc. I highly recommend choosing Matador for any project in your home. Ruben managed our project with excellent customer service. He really made us feel taken care of and any bump that came up he handled it. His team was highly professional and super clean which was important because we lived in the home the whole time. Their tile work is amazing on both the floors and bathroom. Damián was very detailed in working with the bathroom tile and it turned out great. Omar and Gerrardo were the fantastic painters and drywallers who worked so cleanly. Matador also fixed major plumbing and electrical issues for us. We are so pleased with the way it turned out that we have asked Matador to renovate the last few bedrooms of the home and our exterior as well. We highly recommend Matador, we couldn’t have been happier with the results!

We had some water damage due to a leak that went undetected for a long time. After the water mitigation team came in and dried everything up we contacted Matador Construction for the rebuild.

We were starting to run into the holidays at this point and were worried that we would not have a kitchen for our guests on Christmas. Not only did Matador come in and give an estimate right away, they were able to get the work done extremely fast and before the holidays. We can't thank Matador and their team enough for literally saving Christmas for us. Our cupboards look as if nothing every happened. I can't recommend them enough.

Initially called in for water damage repairs this guys are great I ended up using them for other remodeling after the repairs they did on one of my restrooms I noticed other areas around my house where up for a re do so we did and the whole experience was great no issues with the team they did a great job cleaning up after themselves every day very reliable on time matador construction really impressed my family we would definitely keep them in our emergency contacts for any emergency and non emergency repairs and fixer uppers thanks guys keep up the great work

It was great working with Matador, don’t let the name fool you! They were fair on the price and was always available when I was in the design phase prior to construction. We had to redo flooring and remodel some of the house due to water damage. I was so pleased and had a few extra funds that I had them do a little extra in order to keep the wife happy.

Matador Construction took the stress away from a catastrophic incident we had in our home to a huge relief the first day they stepped in our home. We had our water heater break and cause a substantial amount of water damage to our home. They were professional in the every way from the owner to every one of his employees. They worked around our schedule to get the work done, they cleaned the areas after everyday and they did a fantastic job replacing the flooring, replacing the drywall and the attention to detail on the finishes.
