We worked with Bob and Sean at Lunar on a dormer addition at our home in Berkley. The project went reasonably smoothly and was completed in a timely manner. All of the tradesmen that Bob and Sean work with were very courteous and professional on the job. 4/5 because the demo crew damaged the ceiling in my office and left my yard a mess. Overall the project was a success and I would definitely work with Lunar again in the future.

Lunar Home Improvement did an excellent job remodeling my kitchen and building my garage. They were very professional and clean and a pleasure to work with. Would highly recommend Lunar Home Improvement for all your home improvement needs.

Was considering Lunar to rebuild my garage. I set up an appointment to have them come over and look at the garage, talk about rebuild, and basically give a quote. I mentioned to them that I am still comparing prices and meeting with another company as well and that I was not looking to start a job right away or committing to their company and that I only wanted a quote at that time. They gave me a rough estimate for a quote and left. They were very professional during the quote process and were in touch after they left. However, they showed up a couple days later unannounced texting and calling me that they wanted to go over the quote and they were “in the neighborhood “ so they wanted to go over everything. I was working from home and on a call so I did not answer, as they showed up unannounced. When I didn’t answer their texts until later they persisted to keep texting asking if I could meet to go over the quote, I told them I was no longer interested. They felt pushy to me after I got the quote. Even though I told them I was not looking to move forward with anything at that time.

Not professional! Called to get Garage built the owner was very rude and didn’t want to answer and questions about the project , I ask again he hang up the phone , will not do business with Lunar , lots of Builder out there would love to get my project !

If I could give a negative rating I would. Mike was hired to do a small bathroom remodel. Over 20 times he didn’t show or came 4-5 hours late. He had various excuses that when verified turned out to be lies. He sent armatures into my home. They made a huge mess including washing hard plaster down my drains causing back ups. The tile work that was done had to all come down and be replaced due to him not measuring and very sloppy work. I eventually had to fire him after he promised three times he would arrive on time to fix the situation and he didn’t show or call. He doesn’t return texts and his voicemail is full. He promised to have this job done in a week but two weeks later we are right back where we started. He knew I only had one bathroom so this was a major inconvenience. He put window molding on the floor and installed the cabinet before muddying or painting the walls. They installed a window but didn’t use the foam that was provided for them and put the window molding up leaving gaps I could pass a piece of paper through covered behind the moldings which is in my shower. They had the Facet for the tub but laid the plumbing lines for two handles instead of one temperature handle.His sloppy assistance got mud all inside the new vanity and destroyed the inside of the drawers. He cut wood in my kitchen and used the inside of my house as a construction area leaving dry wall screws all over the floor while I was not home instead of using the garage. My house was constantly filthy and they used my supplies paper towels, brooms, ect getting them covered with mud and not cleaning up after themselves. I wouldn’t hire this man to cut my lawn let alone do intricate work. Do not make the mistake of hiring him. He is unprofessional, and a chronic liar. He seems very kind and sincere but do not fall for it. Hire at your own risk.oh and I almost forgot, the owner Mike, showed up reeking of weed. And admitted to being so. And his employee spotted a bottle of crown on my counter and asked if he could have it.

This company is the best. Their work ethic, reliability, availability, performance and attention to detail is impressive. I had my entire kitchen and bathroom gutted to the studs and literally custom rebuilt. There were specific teams that performed their expertise on any given day. Once, my neighborhood had a power outage, they showed up on time as usual with a generator and continued the work!! WHAT??!!!
Now my GC Sean, was/is a complete rock star/ delight to work with, he was always available, receptive, very respectful, trustworthy and truly was angel sent to keep the project moving, me calm and always informative! His actions proved that he was genuinely concerned. This major project took months, tremendous planning and work involved. They; the teams/ groups of experts performed like a well rehearsed orchestra!! Very talented and some brilliant groups of professionals. If you are lucky enough to work with Sean, you truly will be in great, competent, and caring hands. I am so thankful for/to Sean and the teams of professionals at Lunar Construction! To all of the workers-Thank you for an Excellent job guys!

Lunar home improvement did a beautiful job on my kitchen!!! Wow is the word. The carpentry flooring drywallers plumbing excellent. The electrician is a genius. The cleaning crew timely efficient. Everyone is very friendly. Bob and Sean terrific to work with added their expertise to make my dream come true. Appreciated their honest comments and good taste. Thanks

The Owner was Rude ... Tried to have a conversation about building on my property ...A Pool House Family room... And he told me ... You can't just Be Building Buildings on our property... and he swear I was getting mad at him ... And I wasn't ... Your loss Dude!

I hired Lunar Construction to add a 15x24 foot addition to my house. Overall they did a mostly satisfactory job but there were definitely some issues in the process. They tried to sell me some non necessary topography study on my yard. Also, The yard was left in a very poor state and the patio I had was nearly all destroyed with chunks of concrete left everywhere and tire tracts as well as a garden destroyed by the brick layers...but the room does look good overall

Bob and Sean were amazing. Once hired, my new garage went up in a day. It's beautiful!! I can't thank them enough for their help, kindess and compassion, especially when I kept adding more work. 5 stars!!

TL;DR: there’s a reason why Lunar has run a successful business for 50 years.

Lunar Construction is a phenomenal company. They’re very attentive, responsive, profession, and detail oriented. All of the subcontractors that they work with do excellent work as well.

I had Lunar do a full bathroom remodel on the one bathroom in my house. They made sure I wasn’t without a toilet for more than 3 days of a 6 week project and Sean who I worked with communicated with me nearly everyday with project updates, questions, and was extremely empathetic about any anxieties I had throughout the project.

I had nearly every last inch of my bathroom redone and I’ve already gotten so many compliments on the workmanship put into the project. I will definitely be using Lunar for future projects and have already referred them to multiple friends!

I contracted Lunar 25 years ago for a major addition project that added over 1000 sq. ft to my Royal Oak property, so this is not a fly by night company that will rip you off. They did a fantastic job and I always remembered the quality and professionalism from that time.
In the fall of 2020 I needed to add an addition to my small house in Hazel Park. I called several places to get estimates and the only one to show up was Lunar... They listened to every question, adjusted my blue prints several times (which they drew up from my sketches), helping me with financing and getting this all done in a pandemic...BEFORE winter. I highly recommend working with this company.
My addition is 14 x 23 Ft cement slab foundation. It includes a laundry area, sitting area, bedroom with a bathroom with a full size walk in shower. They replaced (all) my plumbing which was rotting away, upgraded my electric from screw in fuses to circuit breakers, new windows, roof, siding , gutters, and driveway. It was a huge amount of work to get done in 4 months, but they did it. They are Very reputable and trustworthy and know what they need to do to get the job done to make sure you are happy. I had very high expectations and they met them all.
I am very happy, I feel like I moved into a new house.

Used them to turn an unfinished attack into 4 bedrooms, bathroom & sitting room. They used minimal insulation, installed the drywall with nails & didn't put in enough heat vents. There were also electrical issues I've had to repair. I sued & won. They filed bankruptcy to avoid paying me.

11/2024, the shingles are blowing off roof the roof they installed. They nailed the shingles to the existing plank wood, no type of underlayment or barrier.

Lunar just completed refurbishing my older garage. They didn't totally rebuild it but did repair and rebuild a substantial amount of it. My wife and I were exceptionally pleased with Lunar. The work they did was excellent. Dealing with Bob, Sean, and Gary was a pleasure. Bob and Sean did a terrific job of communicating and they both, as well as Gary, visited the job frequently to make sure all was going well. My wife and I have remodeled five houses over the years and we have dealt with many contractors. Some were better than others. Absolutely Lunar was one of the best to we have done business with. We highly recommend them.

Lunar Remodeled my built my garage in 1995 and just recently remodeled my kitchen and did a FANTASTIC job! Bob, Gary, and Sean were very pleasant to work with! They kept me informed in very stage of the job and was there to answer any concerns I had. Thank you Lunar for another fine job!
