My 20-year shingles were at their last stage of usefulness. I searched for local roofers and Lakewood's name came up. Eric from Lakewood quickly provided a reasonable estimate, explained what the job would require, and advised that there may be some unseen problems that would need fixing. He arranged to have a crew come out for the job at our convenience. His five installers were able to complete the job in one day. There was a minor additional issue that Lakewood was able to solve easily with no additional charge. The finished job looks terrific. Eric oversaw the entire project, and I am very pleased with the outcome.

My boyfriend's roof and gutters in Hudson were destroyed by hail in early 2022. Eric's crew came quickly, expertly tore off the old roof and put on the new one. The crew took great care during the installation, especially cutting the rake (edge of the roof). It is so very straight and that is difficult to do with architectural shingles. The gutter crew did a marvelous job. They put the gutters on at just the right slope and asked my boyfriend what he preferred when they encountered a difficult section of downspout. Both crews were so very friendly, professional, and took great pride in their work. Eric stopped by every few hours to look over the installation and check in with our satisfaction.

In the fall of 2022, after many interviews and research, I hired a different company to put on my hail damaged roof. At the time, I didn't realize that Lakeland Contractors LLC. worked in St. Paul. We were so terribly disturbed by the unprofessional manner of the crew since we just watched Eric's crew do such a great job. This company's crew had horrible "workmanship". They slashed shingles instead of carefully cutting them and constantly stood in my gutters. We had to watch the crew every minute and I often contacted the salesman to complain about the crew. The salesman said not to worry - that any damage would be quickly resolved. My garage roof was just now replaced because the original crew did not install the OSB that was sitting in the front yard! I have been fighting with this company since October 2022 to fix the house roof mistakes and gutters.

My lawyer suggested I call an independent roofing contractor to do an inspection. I trusted Eric and asked him to come across the river to have a look. He spent over two hours inspecting the roof and pointed out many more mistakes our inexperienced eyes could not see. He was also honest in telling us when our concern was incorrect. He was very impartial and gave us his honest opinion. Had I known Eric's company came to St. Paul, I would have hired him in the first place. Be careful when choosing a roofing company. Make sure you get honest referrals. Get assurance the company assigns a project manager to be on site and that they stand by their workmanship.
