I'm so grateful for Jess, Dennis and the rest of the crew. Their work is top notch as well as their integrity. They do what they say they are going to do and they honor their warranty. In my case, the issue we were having ended up not being related to their work. Never the less, they showed up in a timely manner, took a look and offered solutions. If you are looking to replace or repair your roof, I highly recommend them.

Jes is very responsive, we had a leak, and explained things well. The solar guy, Matt, left me hanging all day with no updates, but eventually showed and got the job done. First time getting roof work in HI so I don't know if the price was on par. Overall, seems like a job well done considering I know nothing about roofing. Would recommend.

He was on time and he helped with the tax credits. They were neat, hard working and finished a large job in just 5 days. And it was a good price. He even helped with the insurance company! Jess, at Kona Roofing came and gave me a roof inspection to replace my 25 year old roof. He was professional, on time and I had a written estimate within a week. I signed the contract and the work was scheduled within a week of signing. The materials were delivered and placed on the roof within a few days. Even with the rain we have on the Big Island the the crew arrived a few days after that. I LIVE IN A RURAL AREA ABOUT TWO HOURS SOUTH OF KONA BUT THIS WAS NO PROBLEM. Most Service companies are located in Kona or Hilo. And wouldn't even return my call or say they didn't come to my area.
The Installation crew of five led by Dennis arrived on time and went to work right away. This crew works very well together. Everyone has a job and did it. There was no standing around or long breaks. I am retired so I got to watch the whole job, and I am extremely impressed and now have a beautiful new 30 year roof. Five Stars all the way for ALL aspects and services provided.
I am revising my review down to 3 . I referred Jes to two people, one my Woman Friend and the bid was for replacement of Screws in a Metal roof. His bid was way too much for this job. A complete loss of trust on my part. Why do trades think they can rip off Woman? Sorry I referred him to two other people. My job was fine.

Professional job. Had wind damage to my shingles roof. They helped me out with my insurance company to take care of all cost to remove old roof shingles and replace all new roof shingles to my entire home. Very blessed to have come across this amazing company.

Jes at WAIKOLOA and his team were fabulous, professional and a great resource. My grandmothers home was getting ready for sale when we noticed a leak in the roof. We needed to find a contractor fast to assess the situation and fix the leak in time for the sale. Not only did he inspect the roof but he also did a thorough inspection of the home as related to his expertise. He provided us with good sound and practical advice. He also helped us find other building experts to help us with the electricals and carpentry. All were wonderful referrals. I am happy to say the roof is in wonderful condition. I also wanted to say thank you to Tania who does the office work. She was patient and kind when she helped my elderly uncle with how to DocuSign paperwork! They really go the extra mile! A new roof and gutters needed can be daunting, both for expense and the time in construction. Kona Roofing made the process a breeze, keeping us informed, cost engineered, and process streamlined. The crews were hardworking, efficient, nice and kept the worksite clean. Our beautiful new roof and gutters were done sooner than anticipated, and more than six months (and a couple storms) later still water-tight and looking like brand new!

I seldom write reviews and only when service and expertise are OUTSTANDING . In 40 years of both home and commercial building ownership, I have had numerous encounters with contractors and only 2 have been OUTSTANDING . Jes and the Kona Pamalua Roofing Company are one of the two. In December while I was in VA, I received an AccuWeather alert of an impending storm that was threatening severe wind and water damage on the Big Island. I wanted to mitigate any potential property damage that may occur in my absence so began calling a number of contractors to visually inspect my property after the storm. There were 2 responses. Jes promptly returned the call within minutes--the second contractor's apathetic response came days later. Without hesitating, Jes offered his professional assistance and understood my concern. His response was courteous, knowledgeable, and reassuring. He understood my concern and promised to visually inspect the property immediately after the storm. True to his word, once the storm had passed, I received a call from him letting me know that I had, in fact, incurred storm damage. Within 24 hours, his company forwarded paperwork to me authorizing him to act as my representative to discuss the damage with my insurance agent. He then arranged to meet with the adjuster at the earliest available appointment. Thanks to his expertise and excellent communication skills, the entire roof will be replaced and damage covered in full. Ultimately, my home will maintain its value, I will have peace of mind, and the expense will be handled through insurance--a feat I could never have accomplished on my own. I am both impressed by and grateful to Jes and his staff for their quick response, patience in answering my numerous questions, and for guiding me with a calm demeanor through this entire unfamiliar and tedious process. Roofing can be a very expensive endeavor, particularly if you're trying to get a metal roof like we were. Jes & his crew were able to get us a great price on our roof, by working both with us and our insurance company. The work was finished according to the timeline that they gave us, and turned out great. No regrets from working with them.

Their company is Pamalu Roofing (Kona Roofing Experts is one of their subsidiary companies), and honestly they took great care of everything I needed throughout the process. I didn't know exactly what I needed at first, because there are several types of roofs to choose from. They helped me to figure things out to best fit what I needed, and we went thru with the project and all ended well. Roofing isn't a small (or cheap) job, but I'm glad I worked with them.
