We have been very pleased with the work that Boss Exteriors completed on our home. They were the only company that actually answered the phone when I called. Ted and Jess were great to work with! They were timely and efficient. I was impressed by the level of attention that they gave us as we worked through removing dry rot in our home. We will be having them complete more work on our house in the future and I would highly recommend them.

If you are looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and dependable company that truly cares about its customers and doing the job well, **this company is not it**. If you want quality work done right the first time, do not waste your time with this company.
Here are some examples with my project:

-Using a subcontractor to perform the work, no where in the contract states Boss may use a subcontractor.

-Huge mess and not protecting our personal belongings, such as my deck furniture and deck.

-Not cleaning up job site at the end of the day. Mess and mud.

-Not installing windows level. They installed the window on a plate bolt. Instead of addressing the problem they told me caulk would hide it.

-Windows not centered in existing case molding.

-Left residue on brand new installed windows. You would think that they would clean them.

-Sloppy caulking around the windows. Using our house to clean caulk from fingers. Even missing the top of two window sections.

-Flex seal flashing tape done differently from window to window without confident and clear answers of why.

-significant financing and billing issues, on more than one occasion.

-Late to appointments or no show. Owner, project manager and or receptionist would not have the same information on our project.

As you can see, we have encountered a long list of issues with this BOSS and not included them all. While they would always come back to fix the work or "make it right," the sheer number of problems, property damage, miscommunication, and personal loss of time and stress have led us to no longer recommend them. From no-shows on appointments or being late, to property damage and numerous inconsistencies in installation, our experience has been extremely disappointing.

We have given BOSS many opportunities to improve their service, but after over a year of working with them, we can no longer stay quiet about our poor experience. We dealt with over five project managers, yet the owner never came to investigate or witness our grievances, even after stating he would.

I came across some cracks on my sidings and under my sliding door. I
used google to go through a list of contractors. Boss was the first one that picked up and accommodated me very quickly. The communication was precise and clear. I worked with Michael on the actual siding and Josiah on the painting. They were incredibly efficient, effective, resourceful, diligent, and disciplined. They finished the work quickly and the repair looked so good I couldn't even tell which boards were replaced. Josiah also covered up a few blemishes with no extra charge. Overall I'm very satisfied that I contacted Boss and would definitely contact them for any additional work moving forward.

I have used Boss Exteriors personally for siding and roof repair -as well- as having them be our #1 preferred vendor for our property management firm. We can always trust them to complete high quality repairs and provide honest feedback about the best steps financially and for the longevity of our rentals. Thank you for all of your hard work Boss! Wanted to leave a quick message about how much I appreciate Michael from Boss Exteriors. They replaced our roof a year or so ago and did an excellent job. But this post is not about that. I had a single piece of siding fall off and after attempting to get several places to give us an estimate Michael took it upon himself to get this fixed for us. I am beyond pleased, this was so wonderful. I look forward to working with Boss Exteriors in the future.

As a result of an ice storm in January 2024, including a fallen tree on our deck, we were in need of substantial repairs, on top of which we needed to replace a long wooden staircase down the slope of our side garden. I cannot say enough about the professionalism by which Max Wilson of Boss Exteriors took charge of this work.

Max took considerable care to assess our needs, including the selection of the most appropriate and durable materials, designing and supervising a new and stunning custom-made set of wood frame and tempered glass deck railings on all 3 levels of our home. His team of Daniel and Luis applied impressive craft skills in resetting the deck posts and railings. They equally met the challenge of a difficult but in the end strong and reliable hillside wood frame and stone garden stairway that we are confident will last for decades to come.

Lastly, Max brought on to the project a highly professional painting team headed by Andrew Silva and his painters Eddy and Luis who did a superb job that left us proud of our new one-of-a-kind shining railings that match beautifully the deck flooring and overall offer a unique see-through vista of the forest and mountains beyond.

All in all, a magnificent job, and we have no reservations in highly recommending Boss Exteriors and Max Wilson for similar work that others may need.

My neighbor recently had some work done by Boss and I watched and heard how the process went along and I was impressed so I decided to give them a call and inquire about getting some work done to my house...siding and roof work...have a few trouble spots on both Drew came out to assess the house he showed up couple minutes early and was very professional about who he was and why he was there after talking it over with him I found that he was very easy to talk to and helped explain things in a way that I understood making it real easy to talk to him about the things I knew were needing to be be done and what I should do first it was refreshing to have someone be so informative in a easy to understand down to earth kinda way...I know absolutely nothing about roofing or siding I might even inquire about some deck work as well and will definitely be recommending Boss and Drew to EVERYONE!!!

Boss Exteriors was excellent to work with on our project. They were very attentive to detail and answered any questions we had in a very timely manner. I have worked with many construction companies over the years, both personally and professionally, and I must say that the services provides by Boss Exteriors were exceptional. We will definitely use them again in the future.

I needed a front porch steps rebuilt and some minor painting done. I couldn’t decide if I wanted the steps rebuilt or cast in concrete. BOSS quoted amounts for both. I went with concrete as it was only a little higher. BOSS and I worked out a schedule and then proceeded. They were both quick and neat. I’m a happy customer.

I got five estimates for a roof replacement. They were actually more like interviews. A few were not thorough in their description, or details. To me, that was more important than price. Of the top two, Boss had so much detail to explain relating to my existing roof, and how replacing it would happen. Clearly, their people are very experienced and friendly.
They started working on the roof replacement in hot July weather they had to work half days for a while in order to avoid damaging the new shingles, Which I think bothered them more than it did me. The workers who did the install were friendly, engaging, and extremely knowledgeable about what they were doing. They worked hard in tough weather conditions To get it done as fast as possible.
Final product, I couldn’t be happier. They installed a totally new venting system for the house and the roof looks great. Their follow up was fantastic, and they are a really well managed family company. Very highly recommend!

We had been referred to Boss Exteriors by a friend who has had extensive exterior construction done recently. She had praised their attention to detail, their communication, their friendly attitude and their response to change ideas. I asked Boss to give me a complete roof replacement bid last year, which was very competitive. When I checked back in this spring, I asked for another quote and it came in lower. And, they were able to get started in TWO WEEKS! They told me everything that was going to happen, and the job was done in 5 days including all the cleanup around the house. The roofers were friendly and took the time to explain things as I asked. I highly recommend this professional company for your next exterior construction project.

I gave them pretty simple instructions on dealing with the boxes of white maple and dark walnut I had and I also had asked them to please do not let them get wet from the rain and they did it anyway and ruined both boxes costing me money to have to replace said wood then i also asked them to please put it all back the same way they find it which never happened.. and then when they replaced my aunts siding they just papered over the old siding and put the new on top of the old stuff which is pretty lazy if you ask me then they failed to replace the dryer vent on the wall then they promised to come back on this last monday prior to this posting to get it done but that neverhappened either.. I am modifying my review for this company which is my issues with this company where dealt with except the loss of my high quality wood I was saving for money generating projects which all the wood I had sitting in banana boxes got totally ruined and this company did offer to give me a whopping $200 for the loss of the oak, red oak, dark walnut, and white maple that I specifically asked the workers to be very careful with but actually ruined instead.. but anyone who knows wood well knows 200 is not enough to replace the expensive wood I lost..

Boss put a new roof on my house a year and a half ago. Really happy with that. When water started running down into the garage, I called Boss for help. Eric arrived first thing in the morning. Nothing wrong with the roof but he looked at everything and diagnosed a chimney with crumbling masonry and showed me how to fix it. He examined the rest of the roof just in case. Really pleased with the roof and the followup service more than a year later. Thanks Eric and Boss!!

Boss exteriors took care of a difficult three story roof vent repair job at my home. I am retired from the commercial roofing industry and this company knows its business; and, they got it done really fast. Also, the estimator pointed out preventive maintenance work that I was not aware of, they took care of that at the same time, thank you Eric. I have peace of mind knowing I can count on Boss now and in the future.

I am very happy with Boss Exteriors yet again. They replaced some cedar shingles on my house. They were the lowest bid, and what they thought would take one day instead took three. The paint I had given them to match, did not match quite right, and they took it upon themselves to get a match to do the job right. This added an extra day for which they did not charge me. They were great communicators, they cleaned up after themselves, and were much quieter than I would’ve ever thought they could have been considering the job they did. They also communicated very well through the whole process. I will definitely use them again for a different job.

As a female contractor, finding trade partners that posess the same drive and attention to detail as myself is very important. We've worked with the Boss exterior team for roofing, siding, and misc exterior contracting work and they've been nothing but amazing. Andrew the roofing manager, was attentive, responsive, and went above and beyond to ensure the job-site was left clean and spotless. Michael, our siding manager is a great problem solver, and went above and beyond to ensure our project scope and quality of work was executed flawlessly. We hired Boss Exteriors to complete a whole house exterior project which included a 2900sqft multi-level Trex deck, windows, paint, gutters, and siding. The staff at Boss are awesome. The project was on time and on budget. We looked at bids from about a dozen companies. Boss was not the cheapest, but beat the highest bid by about 25%. They were also the only company who completed the majority of the work with their own full-time employees. Of course in any project this size, subcontracting certain tasks is necessary. Boss utilized subcontractors who were professional and eager to please, except for one which the Boss project manager did a great job to remedy the situation. We will definitely call Boss Exteriors for any work needed in the future!

Just finished with my roof replacement and Boss has been a pleasure to work with. I needed to have my solar panels removed first, and they were very flexible with the schedule to allow me the time I needed to get everything taken care of. Great communications! Professional service. They came highly recommended and did not disappoint!

Boss Exterior of Canby has been a great company to work with as they removed our old multi-layered roofing shingles and installed new Owens-Corning shingles. Our Senior Estimator, Eric Powell came to our home and did a roof inspection and then provided us with color options and quality of shingles as he explained the reroofing process. Eric advised us we needed additional roof vents for better attic ventilation.The crew members were very professional and worked fast and efficiently (in spite of the high temperatures)and cleaned our yard, sidewalk and driveway each night. They used a blower to do a final cleaning of the roof, gutter, yard and driveway. The crew used a powerful magnet to pick up any pieces of metal and nails as a final part of our roof replacement. Operations Manager Rylan Phillips kept us apprised of the scheduling and daily progress on the installation of our new roof. My wife and I highly recommend Boss Exterior for your home improvements.

We called Boss Exteriors upon the recommendation of a family friend and we are very glad that we did. Eric came out and inspected the roof and then explained to us in great detail what we needed to have done. He explained the process and showed us all of the materials they would use. No high pressure sales tactics, just the information we needed to make an informed decision. Super crew on the job. Worked hard. Work to high standards. Our roof was a complicated job with many different pitches, planes and intersecting lines. The crew work steadily and the crew lead took personal responsibility for the tough sections. Very careful to clean up every evening. Protected our extensive garden beds and plantings. Happy campers. All Teams from Estimating, to Project Management, to install crew were extremely thorough, professional, and were very responsive to any questions or clarifications i had. They even came back an installed a missed roof vent for a bath fan.

I had BOSS Exteriors install gutter covers about a year after they replaced the roof and installed new gutters. The installation looks perfect, now I will not have to clean our gutters from all the leaves and pine needles.

Previously, BOSS Exteriors did a fantastic job replacing our roof and installing new gutters. To start with they performed the most extensive inspection of the roof against competing bids. The crew did an excellent job making the needed roof repairs before installing the new roof. I could tell by speaking to the crew leader and by his and the crews work that the focus was making sure the job was done right to last the life of the shingles. They also cleaned up at the end of every day and were back on site every day till the roof installation was complete. The second crew did an outstanding job of installing the gutters and were done in two days. BOSS provided a competitive bid and more importantly left me with the confidence they had the experience to do a good job and complete the work.

Scott came by to evaluate our roof and I was extremely impressed by his thorough explanation of the options for our situation, his professional demeanor, and non pushy attitude. He showed us with a physical model exactly what his team would be doing for our roof and explained why it would be worth it or not for the different options. He has been a great communicator, was on time, and even followed up with a thank you gift for the consultation. Boss is obviously extremely professional and trustworthy when it comes to your roofing needs.

I had a wonderful experience with Boss Exteriors! I had just made an offer on a home and had it inspected. There were some concerns about the exterior trim having water damage. I decided to find a contractor to come do a thorough inspection and estimate for repairs but I only had a few days to get it done. Boss was the only local company who returned my call the same day (thank you, Brittney!). Bonnie then reviewed the inspection report I provided and went out to inspect the home in person the next day. She found water damage on the trim and facia boards. There were problems with the flashing, the gutters...on top of that she educated me on type of siding (EIFS) which is known for having water penetration issues, alerting me that until the trim was taken off we wouldn't know if there might be water damage in the walls. Bonnie even texted with me over the next few days (including her days off) answering various questions that I had. Long story short, Boss Exteriors saved me from making a serious and costly mistake in the purchase of a home, and educated me in the process. I highly recommend them and will definitely call Boss for any exterior work that I need in the future.

One of the newer businesses in town - although they have been in business for decades in Oregon - is Boss Exteriors - a roofing business that displays big city professional competence while sharing and preserving our rural America values of honesty, respect for a person's word, commitment to hard work, and pride in a job well-done. We engaged Boss Exteriors to reroof our barn, chicken coop, and detached garage. To begin the project we met with Exterior Specialist Eric P. Eric patiently guided us in the selection of quality roofing materials - including Duration and Oak Ridge shingles. After we agreed to Boss Exteriors' reasonably priced contract, the work quickly began. Despite intermittent pouring rain and strong wind gusts, Master Roofers Daniel M. and Cory O. kept their crews working safely and efficiently. When a defect in one area of the barn roofing project was identified, we did not encounter any pushback or specious argument from Boss Exteriors to "just let it go." Instead, Roofing Division Manager Mark W. and Inspection Superintendent Scott W. immediately decided to replace the defective section, a decision that was promptly and expertly carried out by Master Roofers Segundo R. and Emilio S. and their crew on what was up to then the hottest day of the year in Oregon. All in all, from their courteous office personal to their roof installation workers, Boss Exteriors provided us with quality service. Canby is lucky to have Boss Exteriors as a local business, and it was our good fortune to have Boss Exteriors perform the roofing work we needed to protect the value and beauty of our property.

We retained Boss Exteriors to refurbish our deck by replacing some of the wood, power washing, sanding and painting. Also the front steps. The work was done carefully with great attention to details. Every effort was made to preserve as much of the wood as possible to keep down costs. The end result exceeded our expectations. The deck and steps look almost new. We are very pleased.

Wonderful and excellent service from the Boss team. They replaced our roof last year, and just completed painting our exterior. Couldn’t have asked for a better team to work with. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Work ended up not being great and creating a lot of problems that they haven’t come to fix yet. My basement flooded twice due to their work and while I got a partial discount for the first flood event (which was during the job), they said they couldn’t be responsible for the leaks of an egress windows they installed that I said needed to be water tight and wasn’t because of the seal of the window to the wall (the window itself was great).

Also, a sliding door they installed isn’t square and therefore doesn’t close all the way; they’ve said they’ll come to fix it multiple times but haven’t.

For the overall cost and hassle of it all, I can’t recommend them.

My experience with Boss exteriors has been fantastic. Jalen and Dan came out to inspect my roof and gutters recently and were much more thorough than I expected. They explained the issues with my roof but also provided solutions!

We had a rain cap on one of our roof vents blow loose during high winds 16 months after our roof was done and when I called they had someone out at 8:00 a.m. the next day to fix it. Excellent service.

Boss Exteriors replaced my 22 year old roof this winter and did a fantastic job! The PM's kept me informed about when things would be dropped off (the porta-potty, the shingles, etc.) and when to expect the crew to begin the work. And, the crew was spectacular! They worked hard and efficiently, and they cleaned up completely when finished. And, when the crew left, one of the managers came to site and did a full inspection. Bottom line, they did a wonderful job. We've had a ton of rain since they finished, and there have been no issues! I would strongly recommend Boss Exteriors for anyone who is needing to replace their aging roofs!

Excellent service very personable, responsive to problems. There were some communication issues at first but they were diligent to rectify them. There were also some nails that they missed on the first go over but we're very conscious and diligent to rectify this.
I highly recommend them, great company with great integrity and excellent work and workers, and they are all legal.
It's now 9 months after we had the roof done and the roof itself is good however I'm finding ever more workmanship issues that were not good. The exhaust vent for our stove was full of debris but I had to clean out and there's still some rattling around in the fan that I can't get to also found a weak area in the roof where they should have replaced the underlayment and they did not, so I would downgrade their rating to four stars.
It's been a year and a half since the roof was done and no leaks and that is notable since we had four roofers try and fix a leak and Boss did. However, I continue to find nails around the perimeter, so found two areas where the sheathing was not completed and there are spaces, there's also some seathing that was not secured so when you walk on it it bends. I've also found some sheathing that looks like it has old mold on it, it may not be active, but it should have been replaced, so I am downgrading my rating to a three-star.
Changing the rating back up to five. As you'll note above I had initially given them the 5 then I changed it to a 4 and then to a 3 as I found more problems and someone in the office noted that I had changed it They called me and said, how can we fix this and they came out looked at the problems and fixed them all and even found some other things that weren't done completely and they fix those all for free. I'm very impressed if I could change this to a six-star I would.

Based on our experiences in the roof replacement bidding process, Dan S. was head and shoulders above the rest. His straightforward information and low-pressure sales approach was a breath of fresh air. The bid we received from Boss before they left site was the most detailed and seemed the least likely to have surprise costs...

Update: it's three years later & no problems with the roof. Remains a good experience / strong recommendation.

Elias arrived to my home on time and professionally introduced himself and explained what he would do. He stressed that they are a family-owned business and take care of their employees, including providing benefits. In a a matter of 30-45 minutes, he inspected my home and produced an estimate for roofing, siding, and painting which was completely reasonable. There was never an effort to "sell" me on their products like previous companies. Shortly thereafter, while I was in the process of collecting other bids, an ice storm caused the collapse of my exterior deck roof. To expedite repair, I decided to go with the best bid up until that point, which was Boss. Elias returned to my house the next day and brought along a fellow employee; the two of them removed and stored the remains of the fallen deck roof, even though they would not begin the roofing project for a couple of months. This illustrated to me their focus on customer service and integrity. I was incredibly grateful. I feel that I can trust them. Boss has maintained excellent communication with me thus far. I'll have to leave another bid once the job is completed!

3 years later — I noticed a workmanship defect in the siding. It took me 3 years to finally call Boss to simply get a referral to a quality HardyPlank contractor. Without me even asking, Max came out, confirmed what I saw, then said they’d fix it for free! Matthew came out less than a week later and did an amazing job with a complicated challenge. Communication was great. Incredibly professional. Meghan and Jessie on the phones communicated professionally and always did what they said they’d do. I highly recommend Boss Exteriors.
