Kanaha Kai Maui

After arriving in Maui from eastern Canada, I found out my foil board was busted in transit. Kanaha Kai was able to repair my board in just a few days, while I rented a board from them in the meantime. Really saved my foiling trip.

Arrived in Maui on my bucket list wing foiling Northshore Maui Vacation, only to have Air Canada destroy my Son’s board. Jeff and the team were absolutely awesome, had it fixed and looking like new in just a few days. I also rented a board while I waited and a few wings. Kanaha Kai saved my vacation!!! Mahalo

Just an overall good experience!
I rented out a full set of kite equipment. The equipment was good and in good shape. Further they were quite helpful in choosing the right equipment for the given conditions (which were a bit different then usual).

Next to the rental itself they also gave a good introduction to the local etiquette. So you don't blame yourself when going out for the first time.

The whole rental felt easy but also very professional at the same time.

Super friendly helpful and knowledgeable people! I had one day to kitesurf and it was howling 20-40kts they rented to me a 7m then a 5m. I had an amazing time. Thank you.

Great service, I needed parts for a kite and they got me hooked up and back on the water really fast.

First time in Maui after 30 yrs wanting to go Windsurf there. It finally happened this August and had the best experience renting windsurf gear from Kanaha Kai. Great selection, friendly and cool attitude and I really like the sails I could use and return to the shop to swap sizes as needed with the conditions changing.
They will have everything you might need to assist you including roof racks, straps etc for your rental vehicle to carry the gear.
I will be repeating this trip hopefully often and will be looking forward in renting from them again.

Windsports shop with very friendly and helpful staff. Rented wing foil equipment. By far the best conditions on the island ($100 for 24 hours of complete equipment including helmet and vest). Good selection of equipment. Easy to rent and return on site. It is also possible to swap if the wind changes. Highly recommended.

This place is great. Friendly staff, tons of equipment & convenient location. Places like this restore my faith in humanity.

I had the absolute best experience renting a windsurf set up with a board 2 sails and 2 masts, a boom! Everything I needed to get out on the water with great gear! Staff was super friendly and awesome. One of the best experiences I have had at a gear rental shop. It’s the cheapest rental on the island and definitely the best… no insurance premiums to pay! Having never windsurfed in Maui before. Kyla and Jeff were incredibly kind, helpful and patient with me. They set me up with a kit based on the current wind levels and my skill level. And before I picked up the gear, they were incredibly easily to communicate with and answered all the questions I had very promptly. Awesome shop and experience.

I rented windsurfing gear here and it was exactly what I needed. It was my first time on Maui and the staff gave me advice about windsurfing at Kanaha beach. All and all the rental process was easier than I thought!

All of your needs for water sports, a great local shop with super nice and knowledgeable owners, a wide selection of boards to rent or buy, and all of the accessories for surf, sup, kiting and more.

Very friendly and accomdating located about a mile from one of the most inviting windsurf beaches i have ever seen. Dont be put off by the slightly industrial neighborhood or the nearby water treatment plant. The kit is top notch and you don't need anything of your own except maybe your own favorite harness. If you don't have one, no worries, a seat or waist will be included with the whatever board you choose, 2 rigs appropriate for the wind and universal roof bars. HOT sails are offered and are made by the owner. The kit i had was perfect with little sign of wear. The also have foils, kites and stand ups too if that's your thing. Will definitely visit again.

Great prices, staff and customer care!
We rented kite 9 and 11 and got them brand new. The wind was too strong so we went back to get a smaller size and they gave us another one (brand new) right away.

We did get an old bar which one of its lines tore mid riding.

They compensated us generously and immediately gave us a new bar to continue to ride with.

And it is vey close to the kite beach!

Hot Sails were great, shop closest to the beach, everyone made our sailing enjoyable. Kanaha Kai has been my shop to go in Maui in every visit

This was the place to go for all your rental needs!
Jeff was very nice and listened to what we needed and recommended and gave us the right gear to rent at a reasonable cost. All the equipment worked well and they have equipment for both Kiting as well as windsurfing.
They have limited new items for sale however

We rented windsurfing gear here. Jeff’s and Kyla’s advice on the boards and sails sizing was perfect for the weather conditions. They made us feel welcome and answered all our questions.
They also had a great recommendation for an instructor, Bernd a world class windsurfer and super friendly instructor.

It was my my first experience in Maui for windsurfing. I really loved the "Hot Sail Maui" and especially the support we had from Kanaha Kai Maui for the equipment selection. Thank you so much Kyla for your kindness and the help you give us. I will plan to return.

New owners are very friendly, great people offer good price for rental and possibility to return after hours. They also rent kids equipment for windsurfing. Location is great, close to Kanaha and harbour depending what you wish to do: windsurf, kitesurf, wing, surf they have it all and provide straps and roof racks for transport.

Excellent experience renting top quality windsurfing gear including the harness and roof straps. And great friendly service, including transportation to the beach. I highly recommend for windsurfing in windy Maui.

Very helpful personnel and good gear for reasonable price. They also assist with transport of the gear by providing straps for car.

I was there in June 2002 and received great material. I was able to replace this without any problems due to the changed wind conditions. Was great fun. Thank you very much

Windsurf gear was great and cheap.
However, I posteriorly received a charge for a damage that I supposedly did but was unable to see.
I would accept and pay for any damage done if it is proved when giving back the gear. This was not the case and the owner was not even able to send a picture of the damage!
This store lacks professionalism.
Definitely will not rent in this store again.

Greg set me up with some great windsurfing equipment. Had an awesome day on the water yesterday. Will be back next week.
