I have had the opportunity to work with KACI Construction several times over the past several years. My last experience with the previous owner was frustrating enough that I had determined not to work with them again. KACI is now under new ownership and I invited the new owner to see what had been done previously and why I was frustrated. He impressed me with his integrity and knowledge as well as his honesty. He was not pleased with what he saw, explained to me why, and we agreed to have him get a crew over to take care of what was needed. They did so in a timely manner and did excellent work. My wife, who is a stay-at-home mom, told me when I came home that she would have them come do work for us any time: "I didn't have to listen to their stereo blasting all day." They were quiet, respectful, efficient, and did great work. I have already contracted KACI to do a couple of more projects for me. I couldn't recommend them more highly!

My husband and I decided to add a master bedroom, a hallway, and expand a guest bathroom on our ground floor, and accepted a written bid from KACI. From the bid onward, KACI proved communicative, responsive, and could deliver exceptional craftsman work. Details of costs and a time line were specified, with change orders clearly indicated as needs arose. Although the project took slightly longer than anticipated, all major aspects of construction were completed and officially inspected in a timely manner.  Communication between KACI, subcontractors and ourselves was adequate. Costs of materials and labor were clearly indicated, including Washington State taxes. KACI conscientiously tracked and documented adherence to building codes.  All this, of course, was essential.  But going beyond that, all persons involved with KACI were polite, personable, and communicative. Overall design and details of construction were worked out conscientiously, with our feedback solicited. To say I am pleased with our new addition is an understatement. We are well satisfied.

Service questions
1. Should I stay home during roof replacement?
+-

It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.

2. How long does roof replacement take?
+-

The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.

3. How to hire a roofing contractor?
+-

To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.

4. How to check if a roofing company is legit?
+-

Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.

5. How to choose a roofing company?
+-

When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.

6. How do you know if your roofing contractor is ripping you off?
+-

Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
