We had K&P replace our roof as a result of the tornado during the April 24' storms and couldn't of had a better experience for such a stressful event.

Greg Milliner came highly recommended with K&P from others that had previously needed inspection. Greg was at our property the morning following the storm to perform an inspection and walk us through the entirety of the process to come for a replacement. Greg was able to show us where damage had occurred, what the risks were if unaddressed, and walked us through the process with insurance. Greg was very adaptable having to endure multiple rescheduling events from the insurance side. The crew that came for the work did an amazing job and were very diligent with clean up, leaving no trace behind. They even stopped by after the first rain to pick up debris that had come down the gutters.

I called these people a week ago from today. No one had called me. I called them back to tell them this. Apparently there’s some training going on this week they failed to tell me about and said someone will call me next week. There’s a leak in my garage when it rains and it had been nice weather all week so far. Now with there being another round of rain later this week I have to deal with it again. I could’ve simply called elsewhere had I known about this training. Never calling them again.

Working with Bruce and Jeremy has been a pleasure. We did had a couple of small issues after the installation of our roof. I applaud their quick response and their swift action taking care of them.

We called K & P to check our roof for possible hail damage. Bruce Adams came out and found no hail damage, but there were several shingles damaged by bullets. Bruce helped us with our insurance claim and inspection and stayed with us through that 2 month process. Our roof was scheduled and installed taking our schedule into account. Can't say enough good things about Bruce. He is communicative, friendly, thorough and he knows everything about the roofing business inside and out. He is the best.

My roof was 17 years old, and causing issues. Had one leak, also had some gutter issues. I called the company that installed the existing roof, and they came out to say that it needed to be replaced, but didn't see enough damage to turn into insurance. I called K&P as a second estimate. Aaron Dennis came out and saw that there was wind damage, and possibly hail damage. I turned in a claim to my insurance company and Aaron was there when the adjustor came out. The adjustor agreed there was both wind and hail damage. My insurance company paid for me to get a brand new roof and gutters. K&P did an awesome job with both. Raul was the guy in charge of the gutter installation, and he did a great job. They look awesome and I know they are pitched properly so that they drain well. Jeremy also came out and tied up some odds and ends. The K&P team was great to work with, especially Aaron. His knowledge of the insurance claim process was very helpful to me. Had it not been for him, I might have paid for all of this out of my own pocket; so, he actually saved me multiple thousands of dollars! I had never filed a Homeowner's claim before, but Aaron helped me with all of that, and my new roof and gutters look great. K&P made this big project about as easy as it could be for me, and I recommend them, if you need a roofing, siding or gutter contractor.

All I can say is this company sets the standard for professionalism, quality, responsiveness, and overall customer service. I could not be more pleased with our roof replacement. Jesse Pryor was nothing short of outstanding!

I called K&P roofing after I saw a large patch of shingles missing from a section of my roof. They came out and assessed the damage and recommended I file a claim.

K&P Roofing installed a new roof on my home two months ago. I would absolutely use them again. Derek was my contact with the company and he did ALL the leg work for me. Derek was recommended to me by someone who had worked with him in the past. Derek was professional. He responded to my texts. He provided options on what could be done to fix my roof. He handled all the communication with the insurance company, making it much simpler for me to keep track of what was happening. Simply put you want Derek handling your roof inspection and install.

We had a extremely challenging install due to other construction work on the site. The K&P roofers were great. They where on time and on the mark. They coordinated with the other construction crew without my help. They were extremely professional and polite to my family. Our story with Derek and K&P Roofing began in the summer of 2022, when our State had been slammed with heavy storms and every company was extremely over-loaded with roof work. From the very first phone call, Derek Hihn was up-front, honest and professional. Even though he was overwhelmed with other work and our house was a very small job in comparison to most of the homes they work on, he managed to come out to inspect our roof when he said he would. He made us feel like we were not just another number or sale for his company.

He gave a very thorough inspection and found things our prior roofing company neglected to address. Thus, creating problems for our roof later on, just 5 years after being replaced.

Our insurance company has been difficult to deal with (to say the least) and Derek has gone above and beyond being an advocate and fighting for us. He was honest about what he could and could not do and he followed through with every commitment he made. Derek stayed in constant communication to let us know what to expect and was always available for calls with questions or at least got back with us right away.

The roofers came out during inclement weather, worked non-stop to insure our roof was completed before more up-coming bad weather made the leak any worse. They communicated the details of what they were doing and why, let us know when the job was complete and did a fantastic job of cleaning up the debris afterwards. K&P sent another inspector out a couple of weeks later to insure the roof replacement was done satisfactorily ( our prior roofing company never went this extra mile for us ).

We had K&P Roofing replace our 20+ year old roof in early Sept and the entire process was top notch. Throughout the entire process our sales rep Bruce was available to address any of our questions & concerns. We appreciated that they were able to provide us with addresses to previous jobs where they'd used shingles we were considering. It took them a full day and part of another (mainly for cleanup) to complete our roof. We're very happy with the new roof & their attentiveness. We'd recommend them to anyone needing similar roof work.

Lets see, where do I begin:
K&P rating of 4.7, called to ask for an estimate 10-12 May, from the 13 April tornado.
Since May, I've had to request statuses every week, they mentioned supplements they claimed were sent, called insurance company they said the supplemental wasn't received...that was june, then in July...and again in August. Had a date set aug 26..with 5% rain... it was rescheduled because of rain? but then it rained the new date with 70%.... next update... had to juggle teams around. So from may 2022 until in Sept (appx 3.5 months) with no solution in site, i requested my deposit back..
Strange part I got it back in a day, without anyone saying they apologize or anything... I guess I got enough excuses from Jun to Sep. Thanks for tying up my Roof and siding repairs... just curious why? didn't have enough damage that didn't turn enough profit or some other reason? Curious!

I worked with Bruce Adams, he was very professional and responsive during the whole process. My insurance company was not on board with a roof replace after the initial roof inspection, we had to have them come out again and bruce and his team had to point out several things that were missed. Bruce and his team had to do some additional work to prove a complete replacement was necessary. it took about 3 or 4 month. but they stayed on the insurance company the roof cost were finalized in june and July and the Work was started and completed over a couple days in August.

STAY AWAY FROM K&P ROOFING!

DON"T TRUST THEM; DON'T USE THEM; and DON"T SIGN ANYTHING
with K&P ROOFING.

This is their MO (mo·dus op·e·ran·di) from personal experience. They send out personnel to canvas a neighborhood, door to door. They contact a would-be customer (you) and talk you into re-doing your roof; they explain that they know the correct words and verbiage to use to convince your home insurance to approve a claim for a new roof. To sell you on the idea, they often explain that the insurance company will actually pay you directly and there is nothing stopping you from just keeping the money and not doing your roof. So you agree (verbally).

The next move is that K&P Roofing says they will draw up an estimate for the job and draw up the insurance claim paperwork to justify the job. At this point they will ask you to sign the ‘estimate’, however – this is 1 of 2 key trickery points. The ‘estimate’ includes fine-print language that states that you must use K&P Roofing to service the roof and that you will not use any other company to service/replace the roof EVER (no time constraint at all), else 20% of the total estimate will be forfeit to K&P Roofing. And when I say fine-print, I mean fine-print – using both my reading glasses and a magnifying glass I still could barely read this verbiage.

The next move is you filing a claim with your home insurance. An insurance adjuster will come to your home and a K&P Roofing person will be there too. You will sign some paperwork from you insurance company and if you have not yet signed K&P Roofing’s form already, you are told on the spot that you have to sign now to proceed. K&P Roofing’s form (described above) also states in the FINE print that you will sign over the insurance money when you receive it; this essentially promises that you will pay K&P Roofing in advance of them starting any work.

Next you will receive approximately 70% of the estimated cost directly from your insurance company (i.e. total estimate $30,000, you receive check for $21,000). This is 2 of 2 key trickery points. K&P Roofing contacts you to come in and sign-over the check to K&P Roofing plus whatever your insurance deductible amount is (i.e. $1,000).

So now K&P Roofing has your/insurance’s $21,000 and your $1,000 effectively paying them in advance; and they have your signature agreeing to use only K&P Roofing to service your roof forever else forfeit $30,000 * 20% = $6,000. This is all in place now for K&P Roofing before any work has begun and before they purchase any materials and before any schedule has been arranged. If K&P Roofing does nothing else, they get to keep $6,000 for about 2 hours of sales effort.

And that is exactly what K&P Roofing does. During COVID Shut-down, while overseas supply stoppages are being experienced, while labor cannot be found; this is how K&P Roofing makes revenue. They run around and sell, collect signatures, and collect 20% on estimates. After K&P Roofing continually ignores you, postpones meetings, avoids scheduling any work; you eventually grow weary and tell them you want your money back. They will return your money without argument and keep 20% of the total estimate.

Never give a vendor exclusive rights without any time limit or constraints; Never pay a vendor 70%+ in advance of any work or materials purchase. These are basic / wise business rules anyone who has hired a plumber or electrician knows. But K&P Roofing has found a way to leverage insurance procedures and trick you into violating both these rules.

Tell everyone! K&P Roofing is owned by Ronald W. Cogburn who lives right here in Louisville on the East Side. And I am sure he will keep instructing his people to run this scam for as long as he can get away with it. Let’s stop him. I fear no liable suit because I have reported only what I have personally experienced and back up with relevant paperwork. I also heard from five people who experienced the same events.

I have to say something special about Derek Hihn. Everything from beginning to end was handled in the most professional manner. Derek is highly knowledgeable, courteous, and wants nothing but the best for the customer. The estimation and proposal were thorough and done in a timely manner which was well received and approved by the insurance company. I have dealt with many contractors previously and can safely say that Derek has been the best. The result is that the roof of my home looks great and I strongly recommend Derek Hihn to anyone I know that needs roof work. // Ashok Raj

In approx March 2022, K&P installed a new roof at the condominium complex in which I reside. In May 2022, interior water damage arose in my unit which I believed was related to the new roof installation process. The HOA contacted K&P, who sent Derick Hihn to assess the situation. Derick visited my home once and discussed the situation w/ my wife (I was not home) and came to the conclusion that the situation was not roof related. I requested that Derick return to discuss the matter with me and perform a second inspection, including examination of the attic (which had not been done previously). Derick promptly returned, performed an inspection w/ me, and raised points that led me to the same conclusion he had reached -- the damage was not roof related. Derick used his extensive knowledge of construction and other water issues he had encountered to assist me in analyzing what my issue might be. Derick was VERY customer satisfaction oriented, polite, and professional in the manner he handled me and the situation. He represented K&P very well and I would be very pleased to recommend him to anyone needing service.

Replaced our 21 year old roof with this company. They were very responsive with evaluating our prior roof and honest in their assessment of it. When we elected to have K&P replace our roof they were accommodating in the scheduling and completed the job in a day and a half. I'm not sure what more one could want from a company that's being considered to replace your roof. We were treated like a friend and neighbor even though we weren't yet either but now we are.

You never fixed this after we spoke. I was absolutely assured (twice) after speaking with David (twice) that somebody would be out to take a look. Never happened. This was never a case of "phone tag" as you claim. I have the call logs to prove it. Fix yourselves and stop making lame excuses.

Wish I could rate it 0 stars. Played phone tag with them for about a month with more than one assurance that someone would be out. Never happened. Awesome business model.

It's hard to put into words my experience working with Derek Hihn and the rest of the crew from KP roofing. My first conversation with Derek and explaining to him what was going on with my house. He immediately asked me if I trusted him that KP roofing could get the job done. He said above and beyond my expectations. I worked with Derick Hihn to replace some Aluminum Fascia Trim which had blown off during the tornado in April. I called to set up the appointment for the estimation and Derick was here within 2 days to provide me with an estimation (which I was very impressed with, given there were so many other homes with damage as well). He was very prompt - arrived exactly when he said he would and called ahead of time to let me know he was headed my way & his anticipated arrival time. I showed him where the damage was, and he went above and beyond to check around the entire home to make sure there was no other additional damage that I had overlooked. When discussing the repair, he was very detailed in explaining what all needed to be done and I didn't feel like he was ever talking over my head or being dishonest about the work that was needed. He was very friendly, and I really appreciated his honesty and transparency. He exceeded my expectations. I recommended him to my neighbors who were also dealing with damage from the storm. In the

I tried to use k & p but after a month waiting for a quote I got the run around when I called to check the status of my quote. Finally I asked for an owner or principal manager to call me. I missed his first call and he did not answer when I called back and has never tried to call back as I requested. Very poor customer service. Using another company now.

Derick and his crew that were used were all excellent. After noticing a water spot on our vaulted family room ceiling I was concerned about the condition of our roof. A close friend told me about her personal experience with Derick at K&P Roofing. I called and Derick came out to inspect our roof, found wind damage and was wonderful about working with our insurance company. Derick was wonderful about meeting with the insurance adjuster, working with us and getting us a new roof and skylight.

We had our roof and gutters replaced. The installation was very fast and we are extremely happy with our new roof and gutters. Eric was easy to work with and made this a very smooth process. Would definitely recommend!

We purchased a home in 2006 that K&P Roofing had put a roof on in 2003 (We have the invoice from K&P Roofing - was paid for by insurance). After we moved in, we soon realized that there was a leak at a dormer at the bottom of a valley - so it receives a lot of water. However, it was discovered that the fix was rather simple because the roofers had not layered the materials correctly, causing the leak.

The roof is now 18 years old and we need a new one because nails are starting to pop. Kind of a short life for a roof I think... a google search says a standard roof should last 20-25 years.

We love our new roof installed by K&P Roofing! It took 3 days and what looked like a ton of mess, but they are *excellent* at cleaning up. We wanted more contrast with our brown/beige exterior, but didn't want to go too dark either. We went with IKO's Granite Black in the Dynasty line. Each shingle had more variation. We couldn't be happier with the result! They also did a follow up visit for quality control. Couldn’t agree more with other reviews about Derick Hihn, it was great working with him. Communication, quality work and cleanup were above and beyond. Thanks K&P!
