My old deck is now solid and safe. Jon, Nick, Kai and Adrian were professional, courteous and respectful. When they came for the estimate it was obvious they really knew their stuff. A pleasure to have around and I will rehire them again.

We contracted with JPS Builders to construct a set of stairs from our very elevated deck to the ground. Their design made excellent use of the limited width available for the stairs. The cost of the project was very reasonable and Dustin and his crew were punctual, professional and personally engaging. The materials used were top quality, the worksite was kept clean and their attention to detail was exceptional. We entered this project with high expectations because of JPS Builders’ reputation and those expectations were exceeded. I had my deck rebuilt from the ground up, and it turned out fantastic. It was even better than how I envisioned it. Jon and Nick are both great to work with! JPS Builders recently replaced the decks at our home occupied by my elderly Auntie. From start to finish, they were professional, responsive, courteous and top-notch!

We approached JPS because they are licensed and trained with the installation of with Trex decking, a maintenance-free composite wood deck. Our mild climate and weather seems like a good fit for Trex because there are no weather extremes that cause warping, chipping and/or fading.

JPS Builders has a great team that captures everything you could hope for. They quickly gave straightforward contracts. The project was reasonably priced and quickly completed in a few days. Nick was the on-site project manager. He effectively addressed my Auntie's many questions and concerns (LOL, thank you, Nick!) and conveyed them to the business owner Jon, who communicated with me via emails and phone calls. JPS made seamless adjustments accommodating Auntie's mid-project requests for additional deck rails in the back yard. Their online platforms let us review and sign change orders and gave payment options which were user-friendly and trouble-free.

Toward the end, JPS went the extra mile with small-scale touch-ups and detailing. Impressive. We're so happy with the new decks. The aesthetic is flawless. It looks clean and feels very nice on bare feet.

Hands down the best contractor I have worked with on anything. As a designer, I’m (perhaps overly) sensitive to things being lined up, centered, and cleanly executed. It was great to discover these guys are every bit as picky about details. Everything was so thought-out and well-executed. Pricing was transparent and fair based on other estimates I got. Jon and his team were excellent to work with. They replaced my deck boards with Trex and built an amazing permanent roof over 3/4 of the deck. They also added a step down from the deck in two places and a beautiful railing along one side and up the main stairs with a hand rail.

We selected JPS Builders to install our Trex decking because of the great reviews and the fact they were certified Trex installers. They were able to start our project quickly and communication was good throughout the process. A couple of additional repairs came up and the added cost was very reasonable. They had great attention to detail and did a great job of cleanup. This was removal of an existing deck and install of new Trex decking with existing rails. We are very happy with the results!

I would highly recommend JPS builders for any deck project. Jon and Nick are very professional and easy to work with. Early on Jon told me I had his word Id be on a list likely for a fall start. He held true to every word. They use online invoicing and billing which is easy as well. Most importantly when we planned the project they got it the first time. Everything about the service was great, quality of the deck and materials,
responsiveness, estimate, respect of the property— my only complaint is that it took almost 5 months for them to be able to start the project. Once started they were done in les than a week though! So if you are able they are well worth the wait!

I hired JPS Builders to demolish an old, deteriorating deck and build a replacement with new footings. I could not be more pleased with either the process or the result. I needed some repairs to an existing deck. JPS was booked out for months but their reputation is such that I was willing to wait. JPS was very transparent about their schedule. I had to wait about a month for an opening. The wait was absolutely worth it. The work was done in a timely manner, very good quality and they cleaned up the work site completely. I am going to recommend JPS builders to my friends and family and I recommend them to you.

I have remodeled a dozen houses, built one and have very few experiences as good as JPS. Good = excellent craft (quality of detail), communication (Jon called with updates and was friendly and available), and schedule - Nick and Jon said 'September' months before, and they nailed it. I have already boasted about the detailed cuts and seam management for my deck - also, they repaired rot for over an hour, and didn't charge me. thank you!

I hired JPS Builders & crew to replace the decking and staircase of my 700 square foot deck. Jon readily worked with me to find the best timeframe for the work to be started (a 6-day job).
The crew arrived exactly on time each of those days, and put in LONG hours. Their work consisted of stripping off all the deck, plus an old under-deck soffit, plus extensive work carefully truing-out numerous joists that had sagged (which had made for a badly 'wavy' surface). They also eliminated the considerable sag of the old staircase stringers & treads.
The new 'picture-framed' deck boards & new stair steps are now beautifully done with TREX, having an extremely fine fit at all the joints and finished edges. Deck & stair surfaces are nicely flat and smooth now (I know from experience that all of this installation quality takes a lot of extra time & thoughtful skills to get these great results. Not to mention how HOT it must have been working on my west-facing deck. On the final day, they thoroughly cleaned up and before they left for next job, we did a careful walk-around inspection.. I am very satisfied. A big thank you to the entire JPS crew!

JPS Builders has done ~4 projects for us over the years, most recently our beautiful pergola and hog wire fence on top of a retaining wall. We've only ever been happy with the outcome and keep going back for more projects because the work and communication is on point. I am happy to write the following review of our experience with JPS Builders. I initially contacted Jon Schupbach the owner back in 2019 for a quote to rebuild our deck. I had four other bids from local contractors and JPS Builders was not the cheapest or the most expensive but I decided I wanted to work with him after researching his work. The examples of the workmanship his team accomplished was very high end quality and that is what I wanted.

Unfortunately the pandemic put everything on hold until this year and we were able to move forward and get our deck replaced. We decided on TREX decking with black hog wire railing framed in cedar with a cocktail ledge. It turned out beautifully!

During construction his team was terrific to work with. They were courteous, respectful and true craftsmen and it shows. JPS Builders now have us as lifetime customers. Thank you Jon and crew you guys are the best!

We had the most informative contractors anywhere! Jon and Nick were in lock step with us for every point on the deck. Everything they said and did was what happened and we would not hesitate to use them again. The quality was superior....they are super hard to book so do it early if you have a project.

We contracted JPS to replace our upper deck and to install a fence. They were helpful, responsive, timely , affordable and very professional. I loved how they worked with us to come up with the right plan and then in the execution phase we’re showing up on time and worked hard and in general we’re super pleasant to be around while they were working on the job. I contacted JPS builders after seeing the fantastic work they did at my neighbor's house where they constructed a large, covered pergola, and a beautiful, framed hog-wire fence. At our house they rebuilt an aging 20-year-old wooden deck from the joists up. We chose trex material for the deck surface, and a sleek railing system of black metal rods in a cedar framework. I knew the new deck would look sharp, but I had no idea that it would look like it belonged in a magazine. It has been great working with the Owner, John, and the construction crew of Sergio, Aaron, and Adrian . I really appreciated their efforts!

Our experience with JPS Builders could not have been better from the start. When asked for an estimate to replace our aged deck areas, Nick was on time, professional, amiable, and meticulous. Our follow up visit with Jon and Nick provided the same experience - in addition to carefully answering all of our questions. A detailed quote was provided in good time. The quote contained all pertinent information as well as options we had asked about. We were told up front the expected time schedule - i.e. it would be a few months before our job was at the top of the list. In the intervening time, Jon was fantastic at communicating and answering all of our questions that popped up.

Working through snow, sleet, fog, icy rain and only a little sunshine - the crew was on site daily, doing even more than expected (i.e. they had to shovel snow from the deck to even begin work). Each crew member was professional, careful, friendly and open to questions. They were a true joy to have around. Our finished deck areas are more beautiful than we had even imagined.
Throughout our project, Jon stopped in periodically to view progress. The project came in on time and within budget.

Nick and his team have done fabulous work redoing our deck and matching front porch. All the details and points on our wish list were addressed prior to construction. Jon Shupbach of JPS Builders is an excellent builder and contractor and I recommend him highly. Our family worked with Jon for more than two years with the construction of a new Craftsman residence and an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU). JPS came out and gave me an estimate, I got some others and found them to be the best price. I had a relatively small deck project and they gave me an estimated time frame of August (about two months after estimate). Jon was great and said that since it was a small job it might be able to be done in between other jobs. Sure enough two weeks later the deck was done. Insight crews were friendly and professional.
