We recently built with Jordahl and closed on our home in August of 24. Recently we found water damage in our Lower level. Come to find out they put a drain pipe directly behind the drywall. The even more disturbing part of this is that this wall was designated for TV mount. During our walkthrough this wasn’t mentioned at all. They clearly knew we would mount a TV on this wall.

The drain was less than 1 ft away from the electrical box cut out for the TV. No metal was placed on the pipe to ensure that a nail or screw didn’t hit it. Jordahl says everything was done to code so they won’t warranty it. Code fine but let’s talk about common sense!! I mean seriously. If you build with or have built with them you may want to ensure this doesn’t happen to you. This caused over $2000 in damage and ruined our $1500 fireplace. I am not happy and would not recommend them to anyone! They should at least out of courtesy paid for this damage and offered to make it right. Instead even the VP refused to pay to make it right.

Terrible customer service and I regret building with them. This isn’t the first house I have built and this is the worst experience that I have ever had. Our siding already is cracked, a brick fell off our stone in the front. Guess only time will tell what else will happen! Can’t wait to look forward to that!

This company has been around for over 25 years. Why do they only have just over 100 reviews? They consistently delete bad reviews. Be careful what you write as the lawyers apparently can just remove honest reviews if you use slander or breach google standards. I in fact built a home with them. In my opinion the worst choice of my life. The best review I can give is telling you that they were established in the 90s and can barely get 100 5 star reviews in all those years. That should tell you plenty.

Is it not great to always see the nice comments left by any company that gets a bad review? I wonder if they ever think it would simply be easier to treat the customer better during their experience with them. Would be great to hear from Google how they allow these companies to delete honest reviews. I see they can respond very quickly and professionally to me now. If only this was the norm after moving into my house or during build. I could post some emails that were a far cry from this response. Do the math yourself people. If you can only satisfy 100 customers in 25 years I can only assume there is a big problem. And honestly I recommend just driving up to any jobsite and talk to people that have worked with them previously. You will get honest responses that I assume can't be posted here

I guess I gambled and lost building next to a property that wasn’t for sale yet. Because they turned it into a miniature apartment complex.

We are blown away by how stunning of a home Jordahl Custom Homes built for us. Both Molly and Kim are fantastic and beyond impressed with the end result as well as with both of their help through the entire process. They made the process of building so easy especially with living out of state and trying to figure everything out remotely. We very highly recommend Jordahl Custom Homes and the entire Jordahl team!

The home building process was okay and the warranty process has been smooth. However, had I known we were moving in around a bunch of rentals managed by Meridian Property Management, Jordahl’s management company, we would have built with a different company.
MPM and their tenants are apparently above the covenants/HOA. You might hear Jordahl say “if there’s a concern with the tenants just email so-and-so” lol no, nothing will be done with your concern.

This company has been difficult to work with as we have had many issues, some which are still not rectified after almost two years. We recently hired a home inspector as our two year warranty is up and June. We shall see if they fix all the issues before then or if we will be contacting a lawyer.
and in response to yours, I have proof with an email from July, which was the last email I got regarding the outside issues. Paige confirmed this in an email last Monday, so don't come at me with "as the weather allows." It's been months.

We had a great experience with Jordahl homes. Everyone we encountered from the company was super friendly and helpful. As first time homebuyers we were pretty clueless so it was great to have such a helpful designer, Mel. We had to have a couple things fixed and they were super prompt and helpful with those fixes as well. Our house turned out beautiful and we are so excited to make new memories here. I will say though you are for sure going to want upgrades. The upgrades we chose all seemed very fairly priced, but just make sure you plan for that in your budget. We've just been here for a little over 2 months, but so far everything is amazing.

So they are building new homes in South moorhead on 40th Ave S and 20th st. They let there trash blow around all over the place. I've picked up before. But I can't get it all. Big plastic tarps get cought in fences across the street in the soccer field. Foam insulation brakes down into drainage. I'll start posting pics

This is my first experience with custom built homes process. I must confess we did it with a highly experienced team in Ashley and jenna. From the lot selection with Jenna to suite our needs for now and the future to Ashley's accommodating nature and contributions in our decisions. Truly there were professional in executing their duties but they made us feel like we were working with friends who had our best interests at heart and they truly did cause the house turned out to be more beautiful than we expected. Even the after move-in experience with Jordahl was nice. Me and my family fully recommends doing business with them. We recently built with Jordahl Custom Homes. To say they are so amazing and easy to work with is an understatement! From day one of the process to the very end which was quicker than we could have imagined. They were all so very helpful , quick to answer any questions, and so much fun to work with. Ashley T in the design center was amazing in helping us put together our perfect home. After outgrowing our current home, and not finding anything on the market that we loved, we decided to build a home. Working with Jordahl Custom Homes was great; we were able to pick a floor plan that worked for our family, but were able to make changes to the layout to better accomodate our wants and needs. I must admit that being able to customize everything can be a bit overwhelming, especially if you are like me, and go into it without a clear vision of exactly what you want, so it is nice that they break appointments down into categories. That allows you to better prepare for what you will be selecting at each design meeting. Our designer, Ashley, was great to work with, also. She had great ideas and was patient with me, even when I took forever to find a backsplash tile that I loved. I appreciate the time that everyone put into the process from start to finish to make sure that our finished home was exactly what we were envisioning! I was absolutely blown away when I walked into our home for the final walk through. Everything turned out beautifully!

I had a great experience working with the Jordahl team! I happened to be looking at model homes during the Parade of Homes Tour, and I came across a Jordahl layout that was perfect for my small family. Chase Hanson was the sales rep I worked with, and he was very responsive to any questions I had. The designer I worked with was Ashley Tweten, and she made the design phase incredibly stress free for me, while offering great suggestions and personal experiences that made upgrade decisions super easy to make. As a Type-A personality, it was so nice to have a team that was on top of things and got back to me as quickly as possible any time I had questions. I definitely recommend building with Jordahl!

The Jordahl team made our building process smooth and easy. It seemed stressful to plan a wedding all while building a new house as well, but Jordahl took care of all our concerns right away and made it the least bit stressful, but enjoyable and exciting.

They take forever to respond, communication is terrible. We payed for higher end stuff and it's still cheap. Carpet worn out fast, they didn't tell us when we picked out our cabinets that they can't get wet or be in direct sunlight. Sloppy painting and horrible trim work. Never will I go through them again.

Jordahl provides repair services for minor issues, but they appear to be less responsive when faced with more significant problems, often attempting to deny their existence. To safeguard your interests, it is crucial to document all verbal promises made by them. If Jordahl indicates they will address an issue later, insist on immediate resolution to avoid potential delays and expiration of warranties.

Several years ago, my parents purchased a house from Jordahl, and unfortunately, since then, we have encountered numerous issues. Notably, the bathroom door cannot close properly due to a misaligned door frame, and the air conditioning system in the bedrooms fails to function correctly. Furthermore, there are external gutter leaks, and the bathroom experiences water leakage from the roof.

One troubling aspect of their approach to resolving the roof leakage is their use of superficial measures, such as painting over watermarks to conceal them and covering the affected drywall. This temporary fix proves ineffective, as the paint tends to peel off every two months, and new watermarks reappear. Seeking the opinion of a professional contractor, we discovered that water is dripping from the roof into the bathroom.

Regarding the air conditioning system, during the warranty period, Jordahl claimed there were no issues, but their resolution involved merely closing vents in other rooms, which not only proved ineffective but also caused discomfort in those areas. Strangely, after the warranty expired, they acknowledged the problem with the AC venting and demanded a significant fee of $1200 for repairs.

Addressing the gutter leakage issue also proved to be challenging. When we initially reported the problem, Jordahl attempted to repair the gutter, which seemed satisfactory for a short period. However, the issue resurfaced later. Unfortunately, when they returned for inspection, the watermarks had dried, leading them to deny the existence of any leakage. They provided us with a number to report the leak immediately, but their response was dismissive, claiming that gutter leakage is normal, despite causing inconveniences.

To protect your interests in dealings with Jordahl, it is essential to meticulously record all verbal communications and commitments made by them. Additionally, when encountering an issue, insist on immediate inspection and resolution to avoid potential disputes later on. Engaging the services of a professional contractor may involve an initial cost, but it can prevent denials from Jordahl regarding the existence of problems.

In the event you are facing similar issues after purchasing your property, consider seeking assistance from the attorney general's office. While their support may have limitations, it is worth exploring, and the service is offered at no cost. Emphasize the importance of accurate record-keeping during any interactions with Jordahl, as this will help counter any misrepresentations or twisting of facts should the matter require legal intervention.

Thoughout my home building process with Jordahl, I was fortunate to work with Jenna Nygaard every step of the way. Each time we met, she greeted us with a genuine smile, let us take our time, and always got our questions answered. She is a woman of her word, shows up when she says she will, and even filled in for others when they could not be there; going above and beyond for us. We appreciate her, and could not have done it without her!

I worked with Kim looking at new home construction and model homes, she did an excellent job and was a huge part in my decision to have Jordahls build my new home. Molly was my designer and she was so helpful helping me pick out the design options and more than patient answering my questions and emails. Great job communicating with my clients from Jenna G. My clients built with Jordahl Homes in the summer of 2021. We had multiple supply issues but they were on task and let us know as soon as they knew that we could have a delay. They kept us updated as the process continued and the home turned out great!!!! I would recommend Jordahl Custom Homes to anyone interested in new construction homes or building their very own custom home! The building process can be scary and overwhelming to say the least but Jordahl Custom Homes has their process so stream lined that it makes building your dream home fun again (which it should be)!!!! Amanda & the sales staff were extremely helpful in hearing my wants & needs in my new home that aligned with my price range. After they heard what I was looking for we started looking at floor plans and lots that were in areas that I liked and would fit the house and my budget.

Once we figured out a floor plan & lot the real fun began in design! I choose the Augusta rambler floor plan but in design we made some changes (added square footage, added mudroom, added foyer) which not all builders are willing to do, most of the time you have to pick a floor plan, stick with it and can’t customize it. I wanted a separate makeup vanity in my bathroom, a wet bar in the basement and to move the location of a bedroom in the basement and the designers were AMAZING on figuring out a lay out that made sense for both of the spaces.

The custom in Jordahl Custom Homes couldn’t be more fitting. Every single thing in the house I was able to pick just to my liking without the stress because the designers are by your side the entire time and there are at least 4 or 5 design meetings that separate different elements of the home so it’s not all at once and utterly overwhelming. One meeting is exterior, one is kitchen & cabinets, one is flooring etc. The design process was an absolute blast and knowing I was getting exactly what I wanted opposed to buying an existing home and having to change a wall color, cabinets or countertops made the house truly ‘turn key’ and all I had to do was move in!

The high level of service doesn’t end once you close on your home like many builders do. Sam in the maintenance department is just a phone call away with any issue you may have which is incredibly helpful when working out the minor kinks living in your brand new home. Jordahl is so confident in their product and want their clients to have the best possible experience with their new home they offer a TWO year warranty on their homes. They are the only builder is the area that offers this two year warranty, opposed to the standard one year warranty.

Jordahl was a horrible and unprofessional company to work with. Jeanna lied to us up front about standard items, and once we put $5,000 down non-refundable were told the opposite. It felt like Jeanna was hired to lie to consumers just to get money from people. Jeanna was not on time for meetings either and did not know the base price for items such as cabinets, base price of the house, etc. Many things were changed about our lot as well after we put money down.
This bad review will be deleted within a day, just like other customers reviews. Jordahl built on the wrong lot until we told them that it was incorrect, our house was done 3 months late and Jordahl did not update us on any of it. We only knew because we kept driving past our lot. The concrete was done very poorly (dirt dynamics). Jordahl could of done a way better job communicating and acting professional. On closing the women was extremely rude and disrespectful although the two men were very nice and helpful.
Another friend of ours also built with Jordahl and closed on their house two months ago, and still do not have a couple of windows in their home and that their house is not complete. They have boards covering their windows in a brand new home. How do you close on a house that is still now done even two months after the fact?
We will never build with Jordahl again, and highly recommend to others to never build with them.

When it came time to choose a builder, I decided to go with Jordahl, not only because of the variety of floorplans but recommendations from others who have built with them as well. My realtor and I met with Jenna and after I explained my unique needs, Jenna was able to present us with a few different options and ultimately helped us decide which would be best for us. Jenna did an amazing job explaining the process on how building from the ground up would look.
Then came the design process! Claire explained everything in great detail and made the design process so easy! We had a few meetings with a specific focus to help break up the process and helped me narrow down color and design choices to make each room have that WOW factor! With every upgrade, Claire presented me with the costs right away so I could make an informed decision about how it would impact my budget. Many people told me that building and designing was stressful but I found it to be the complete opposite! I couldn’t wait to have my next design meeting with Claire! It was so fun to envision my house and being able to see it come together! Building was on schedule and my boys and I were able to move in right on schedule. Lived a rental they built for Meridian, house looked nice, lots of poor craftsmanship throughout the house. House was a year and a half old and had cracks all up the walls, ceilings and had a stair case that was starting to separate from the wall. They seem to build the homes to fast sacrificing quality for quantity.

From start to finish, our build process was an excellent experience. We were greeted by name each time we walked in, had timely service and they worked hard to ensure our needs were met. Great staff and product!

We built with Jordahl and our process was pretty straightforward. We looked at some floorplans and visited some unfinished houses. After seeing a few, we selected the Franklin model because it was an affordable model with 3 bedrooms upstairs. There were almost no models that could compare in price and layout.

We we're fortunate because we didn't want to spend a lot upfront so Kim helped us tremendously. She used a little trick up her sleeve to keep us from paying way more earnest money out of pocket.

Once we got the lot and model going, we worked with Melanie to get designs going. She was fun and gave a lot of input, but was not pushy about anything. She was very relaxed about the whole thing and kept us on a good deadline.

Our house is still being built (1 more month), but I feel confident we will be happy with the end product. I will post pictures when everything is done.

The only negatives are that the basic items are hard to keep. You almost need to upgrade them. That's not the worst thing because they do it to keep prices low.

We have built two houses with Jordahl. Their customer service and willingness to work with us when there were any minor issues or concerns (that are to be expected when building) was fantastic. Concerns were always resolved promptly and to our level of satisfaction (or above). We have had two inspections (before purchase and at a year) for our current house as well as buyer and seller inspections on the first house we built/sold - both with good reports!
