Would highly recommend JMJ. They refinished out partially finished basement and came in slightly under budget. We’re very happy with their work and communication. Will definitely look to them again for any upcoming home projects.

The work JMJ did on our kitchen renovation was amazing! We couldn’t be happier with the way our vision came to life. The renovation included removing an interior wall and soffits, installing new cabinets, removing and re-laying hardwood floor, installing custom backsplash tile, custom open shelving and a new iron stairwell.

My biggest concern with our renovation project was how the existing hardwood flooring could be blended with new flooring to look seamless over where the wall had been. I needn’t have worried. JMJ were true professionals and removed some of the existing flooring before laying down a combination of what they could salvage along with new flooring to seamlessly integrate the new flooring with the old.

We also love how the custom tile installation turned out. Johannes took such care with the design and making adjustments on the fly. He helped make the backsplash a beautiful focal point in the kitchen and we are so very happy with the end result. It’s gorgeous!

Our kitchen went from dark and dull to bright and modern. We absolutely love our kitchen! We knew they were great to work with because they had done a previous project for us. They continue to be a wonderful company to work with and I would recommend them to friends and family alike.

We had a deck installed by Joe and his crew. The quality is excellent, the details were well thought-out and executed. We had to wait a while to get on the schedule but the wait was worth it.

Josiah and his crew did a fantastic job on my deck. It needed new decking, stairs, and handrails. Josiah was able to take my design ideas into consideration and my new deck is better than before. Excellent communication, excellent crew with attention to details. Highly recommend.

JMJ replaced our cedar deck and deck stairs with Trex 4 years ago, and it still looks just as great today as then. They were outstanding to work with and did excellent work. We can't recommend them more.

They were great at communicating (Thanks, Suzanne, in the office!) Showed up when they said they would. Worked diligently. Cleaned up afterward. Delivered an Azek planked beautiful deck.

JMJ replaced our old wood deck running the length of the back of our house with a new Trex deck. This involved completely removing the old deck and built-in hot tub, rebuilding the sub structure in places, and installing the new deck and two sets of stairs. And all of this was accomplished during the pandemic supply chain slow-down. The crew, starting with Josiah, was very professional. They all arrived by or before 8am and worked right up to 5pm each day. They were friendly, answering my many questions and were more than willing to reconfigure one set of stairs after I saw the layout. I would recommend JMJ without any hesitation for any decking needs. The final product is stunning, we couldn't be happier with our new deck!

JMJ installed a cedar pavilion with a metal roof in our back patio. They were on time, on budget, had amazing craftsmanship and the crew was a delight to have working at our house. I could not be happier with the finished product and my experience with Josiah and his team.

JMJ replaced our wooden deck with Trex and did a fabulous job. The initial bid was accurate, no extra cost overruns. They were in good communication leading up to the project and there were no surprises. They started work the day they said they would and worked until the project was done - no leaving to work on other projects. The workmen were pleasant, answered our questions, cleaned up every day and did a perfect job. We had no issues with the deck installation and it looks great! Had some issue with our deck and JMJ was able to fix it. They were able to get us on the schedule months earlier than initially thought. The source of the issue was a bit unknown when the work began and when they identified the issue they quickly changed course and made the required fixes. The team doing the work were very professional and kept me in the loop on the work the whole time. Quite satisfied with the work and I would highly recommend JMJ to others.

They built us a gorgeous deck and hot tub surround. Loved the quality of the workmanship and the polite and professional people involved with every aspect of the project!

JMJ Residential Construction and Remodeling built a small, entirely custom cedar deck for me Burns Park Home (Ann Arbor) in the fall of 2018. Josiah provided a consultation visit and designed a deck that exactly met our needs. The craftsmanship was excellent the project including tearing down the old deck only took a few days. I've been so very happy with the deck and it still looks great after two years of harsh micihigan weather. I should also mention that I consulted several companies and JMJ was by far the most reasonably priced.

This spring I hire JMJ again for a partial kitchen remodel (installation of a new farm-style sink with garbage disposal and new faucet as well as removal of old kitchen counters, preparation of the cabinets for quartz counters installed by Ann Arbor Stone and Tile and placement of new tile back splash. They also completed repair of rotten wood damage on the exterior of my home (replacement of roof fascia boards and replacement of a soffit. I was again very pleased with the work. Josiah coordinated the work and was always available to take my calls with questions. I would hire JMJ again without any reservation and strongly recommend them for home remodeling work.

JMJ installed a trex deck for us. We couldn’t be happier with their craftsmanship and results! The deck came out beautifully and is a wonderful outdoor space our whole family enjoys. They are so easy to work with and reliable. They thought through details that I am sure other contractors would not have. The process was straightforward and stress free. They helped with every step of the process and were prompt in their communication. I would highly recommend.

JMJ built a deck for us and it looks amazing. Good advice on materials selection, really precise carpentry - everything is straight and joints are nice and tight, everyone on the project was super friendly and professional.

We hired JMJ Residential Construction to add on a large addition to our home. I was very particular with whom we hired and have no regrets. We are thrilled with the project. Josiah Shurtliff helped nail down our plans, was patient with the changes we made throughout, and was always ready to answer any questions we had. His carpenters are polite, friendly, and neat. From start to finish, they have met every expectation. The finish work is excellent. I would highly recommend them.

JMJ put a beautiful family room addition on our house and remodeled our kitchen. They were wonderful to work with. I especially appreciated their attention to detail and design. We were concerned about making the addition flow with our existing older home (1930s), but Josiah and his crew made it look and feel great. We love it and we recommend JMJ whenever we have the chance.
