We are very pleased with our new composite deck. It was completed as promised, reasonably priced and met our expectations.

We employed the James river family run crew to totally remodel our home in fox hill. The did a masterful job to change the look and feel inside. They relocated the kichen, removed walls, built a 1st floor bedroom and bathroom, just to name a few great changes

We have had JRR do work for us on two different occasions. The first one was July 2023. They totally remodeled a no longer functioning upstairs full bath, replaced our kitchen counter tops, replaced our front door and our back sliding glass door. And here in January 2024 they remodeled our downstairs bathroom. We are completely pleased with the finished product both times. We certainly would not have hired them the second time if we were not happy with the first remodel in July. Denny was the lead for both jobs and has a good eye for all the small details that I did not think about. Both crews and Denny were respectful and did a great job cleaning up every day before they left. I would not hesitate to hire them again. When I had questions about anything they were met with respect and I appreciate that because sometimes people can make you feel stupid. These guys are great guys. I didn't have to work much with the office because Denny made sure everything was taken care of. When I did, the ladies were so very helpful and got me the answers I needed.

The work was done well and the finished product was exactly as we wanted. Appreciate the quality and fair price.

JRR did a fantastic job with a complete custom build bathrooms on a historic building- The Historic Post Office. Arrived on time, cleaned up after themselves and did quality work.

In terms of logistics...the best in the Tidewater - Williamsburg area. The crew arrived on time to start and completed all scheduled tasks before they left for the day. In addition, if the crew found a hidden defect that was not easily accessible or repairable they proceeded to reengineer the defect (too code) before moving on. Currently working on a follow-on estimate for crawl space improvements to be completed in the Spring of '22..

The entire staff is superb! I live in Hawaii and own property in Hampton.
They were in constant contact with me with updates. I flew to Virginia to oversee the work and could not have been more impressed. They did an outstanding job repairing the front porch. The quality of work and attention to detail was fantastic. Highly recommend James River Remodeling for any of your contracting needs!

I have used James River Remodeling for years now; jobs both big and small. In my experience most contractors are undependable, overpriced, and unprofessional. NOT the case with JRR. Matt and Travis and their work crew are fantastic to work with. I highly recommend!

My husband and I had James River Remodeling remove and install a kitchen island along with some other upgrades to our kitchen. We are very satisfied with the finished product but most importantly, we really appreciated how Matt was very responsive with emails and kept us updated during the weeks leading up to the project. The guys showed up everyday on time and cleaned up after themselves. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone we know.

I looked forward to my appointment for over a week and I’m very disappointed. My husband has worked construction for 16 years but we live out of state and wanted to add a bathroom to our rental, the dishonesty in the work that would need to be done with the job was astounding. I stayed quiet as much as I could until I couldn’t. I’m very surprised at the rating now which is what led to me calling them in the first place until I realized people are confusing companies with another that has a similar name. Honesty and integrity is very important. Dishonest contractors are thieves.

Bathroom remodel. The workers were polite, professional, and courteous. They listened to everything I said and made it happen. At times they did things that I thought were above and beyond what they were suppose to do. Owner was reasonable and honest. Very pleased with outcome.

A Professional design and build bathroom in our home. The construction of walls, plumbing, electrical, tile work was exceptional. A very talented crew. Pricing very reasonable.

Highly recommend this business. Mr Travis came as soon as I called and gave me a quote that wasn't matched by any other quote I got from other contractors. They came to do the entire work in time for the closing date. Definitely saved us time,money and no stress.

James river remodeling came in and completely gutted our outdated upstairs bathroom. They were absolutely amazing. I have had many compliments on the outstanding work they did. They are very knowledgeable and will make sure you feel at ease when you are picking out your fixtures and anything else you can think of. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to remodel their home.

After the 20 min consultation with the owner and shaking hands I was assured a quote would be provided by the end of the work week. However this did not happen.There was no phone call, email, or communication on their end to let me know a price for the work needing to be done. Waste of my time.

The James River Remodeling crew did an excellent makeover of my 1960s bathroom. They tore down all the old materials, and put in new walls, tiles, fixtures and floor. The bathroom looks beautiful now. The workmen were clean, polite and efficient. They also put in new screens and painted my screened in porch and power washed and stained a deck. Everything was done with care and professionalism. I highly recommend James River Remodeling.

I would give 5 stars, but due to the office manager being rude (multiple times) I can't. The quote process was great, along with the workers who came out to do the work, but definitely below par on customer service skills for the person who does the calls (office manager). Work on that and i would recommend them, but until then I just can't!

November 2018 — Great to have this company available for improvements and repairs. This was our second experience with James River Remodeling and it was as well done as the first. The crew is knowledgeable, efficient, polite, and tidy. The work is excellent. I recommend them highly and plan to call them for future jobs at our house.

December 2017 — Best Remodel Experience. James River Remodeling replaced two large windows in our sunroom and the workmanship was excellent. The crew was professional and focused, courteous and neat (they even vacuumed the grass after sawing PVC material outside! and they re-hung all the hardware for our wooden blinds!). We love the way the window fits (it was a complete change from the 25-year-old version that came with the house). We also had them install a high-ceiling light fixture over our stairwell and re-route an a/c drainage pipe in our crawlspace. Each job was performed to our expectations (GREAT). There is one issue with the window screens but one of the crew agreed that it needed to be re-made and assured us that it will be made right, saying, "we want you to be completely satisfied." (New screens have been ordered and will arrive after the holidays.) We are looking around the house for additional jobs that James River Remodeling can do for us. We have recommended this company to all of our friends, and in fact, we heard about this company from a friend! A great remodeling experience.

Very professional and they made sure to meet all of our requests. My kids and cat basicly stalked them for a week and they were cool with it. All ready recomending them to friends.

Travis, Matt and the team at James River Remodeling were great to work with. They replaced our roof, did much needed siding repairs as well as sheetrock repair in the house. Matt was always very patient through all my phone calls. :) We will be using their services again in the near future and would recomend them to anyone needing quality home repairs, and kind group of guys too. You can't go wrong! :) AND, they replaced our hotwater heater and fixed a pipe, that was supposed to have been done by another company that failed to do so. :)

They did an amazing job converting a loft into a bedroom. Very professional and we’ll definitely be referring them. Job well done!

Had James River remodeling convert our handicapped roll in shower back into a tub and shower. They did a good job at a reasonable price and will use them for future work .

We had James River Remodeling repair our roof and replace the shingles. They also replaced our front entry door and installed front and back storm doors. We were very satisfied with the work. It was completed on time and to our satisfaction. I would definitely recommend James River Remodeling and will use them in the future.

Travis and his team at James River Remodeling did some extensive renovations and improvements to a house we bought last fall. They did work that required a lot of skill, such as laying floors and hanging doors, including a French-style interior door and an exterior patio door. The workmanship was great, they did everything when they said they would, and the price was very reasonable. In addition to being competent, we found Travis's team pleasant to work with--friendly, honest, and professional.

I called 4 different contractors to get quotes on installing new gable vents. James River Remodeling found the vents and installed them at a better price than their competitors. Not only that, the installation was professional and timely. I will use them again in the future and will recommend them to everyone I know.

Highly professional and great service. The owner Travis walked me through every question I had from the beginning. Whether it be about the floors the job or anything in genera he was quick to respond and very honest. He was able to get me the products I needed as well as installed in less than three weeks. I should mention it was a two day job installing hardwoods and carpet so two weeks is insanely fast. Overall a great group of guys. Efficient and professional. They even used the waste they had so efficiently I was able to return two boxes of hardwood. I would definitely recommend these gentlemen to anyone interested in any sort of home project.

James River remodeling provided excellent service. After I called Travis, he responded quickly, came by the next day and reviewed the work I wanted to get done. He called me that day and provided pricing. He was very specific and explained details to me and arranged for his crew to begin work the very next day. The first project was to replace pipe gaskets around roofing vent pipes and paint the pipes. He will be back tomorrow to continue inside the house to locate a leak in a bathroom. We had not planned to replace the gaskets, but are very pleased that he checked out the gaskets and replaced after he investigated and found them to be dry rotted. This effort will save us from a potential very costly problem. He is polite and respectful. His work is excellent and his pricing is reasonable!

The crew at James River Remodeling came out to insulate my crawlspace and install a new vapor barrier. When they got done with the job Travis let me know about some leaky plumbing and a bit of rotten wood. When I asked him to give me a quote for the repairs he looked at me and said already done. When I asked him how much the repairs would be he said just tip my crew and tell all your friends about us. I was shocked that he done the repairs at no charge just because they were already under the house. I will never call another contractor other then James River Remodeling.
