We had a Great Experience from the beginning with the quick call back to having Jimbo coming to the house to discuss all the roofing details. Shayna and Brady kept us informed of the installation date and deliveries. The day of the installation Tommee called me to tell me what time he would be here. We could not have been more pleased Tommee and his crew, they were Wonderful! They are all hard workers. The 2 roofs, the old shingles were removed and then replaced both with the new shingles, which looks amazing! Some areas of the roofs needed new plywood, which they replaced. They are all very professional and Smegal Roofing is very lucky to have them as part of their team. I would highy recommend Smegal Roofing!

I would HIGHLY recommend JSmegal for your roof job!!! On May 19, 2025 foreman, equipment, roofers arrived very early in the morning and stayed until dusk for our roof replacement. After peeling off the old shingles, it was discovered that there were unexpected rot issues. Foreman Mike explained what it was and what was needed, sheets of plywood, which were delivered to our site within the hour. He then got right on the new plan even though it was going to be more expensive than original quote for us, and longer job for all of them. Turned out we didn't need as much as quoted and so price was not as much in the end. Mike apprised us all along the day, so polite. The whole team was respectful of our space!!! The whole team was efficient, they cleaned up every piece of scrap, were gone by day's end. Getting work done on a home is very stressful, especially since it was a job "demanded" by our insurance so pressure was on. But JSmegal helped us navigate and was super wonderful to work for!!!!!!!!!

This company was very professional, Tom the foreman on the job answered all my questions and concerns. Tom went out of way to satisfy all my needs. The roof was done very quickly with attention to details. The clean up was fast and efficient. I have no complaints about the work or the workers. Everything was great. I would highly recommend this company.

Terry and his crew installed gutters at our property, and they did it during very cold and windy days. They arrived and started working on it without wasting time. They did a great job and we're very happy with the result. Before they left the job site, Terry did a walk through to ensure the job was done completely. I also walked around to see what they've done, chatted with Terry, and thanked him for his commitment on getting the job done as quickly as possible. This is our second time using JSmegal, and we will continue to use JSmegal for future projects lined up at our property. This company and their employees do a great job on the first time unlike other companies we've used. We're grateful to have found this place and recommend it to anyone looking for a positive and satisfying experience with your home projects.

The crew were amazing, I’m not sure of a better word to describe the work they did for me. They all exceeded my expectations and worked VERY hard. Ian was wonderful and very involved with the process. He listened to any and all concerns I had. Everything went smoothly under his supervision. His attention to detail was exceptional. My home is an old colonial, and I expressed how I wanted to keep a couple pieces of the slate and bricks. They put it in a neat pile for me so I can incorporate it back into my home. He even went out of his way to save a few of the antique nails for me. Ian thank you so much for respecting my home and property. The crew also did too. Bruce Tremblay was our Sales and Estimating contact. This was our third experience working with Jay Smegal: 2 different roofing projects and new gutters/gutter systems. We've worked with Bruce before, and he's a consummate professional. The gutter installers, Tyler and Terry, were personable, knowledgable, and industrious. They patiently answered my questions and completed the job even quicker than estimated. The workmanship is impeccable, and the clean up and removal of residual construction materials complete. These guys guarantee their work, a rarity in the roofing and gutter industries. They're our go-to guys!

Eric Sciola’s bedside manner is outstanding. He explained what needed or has to be done, provided the necessary information and documentation for us, the homeowners to make our decision. Eric provided the required documentation for the insurance company in a timely manner. My husband and I opted to go with J. Smegal Roofing based on interactions with and information provided by other roofing contractors. I believe we made the right decision.

Great experience with Terry, Tyler, & Cliff. These guys were pleasant to talk to, very thorough, and very professional. I even overheard them redoing a section of gutter, because it "didn't look right." It's rare to find a group of professionals that have pride in their work, even when it was not visible to someone like me.

While I was happy to have my gutters cleaned out and I was very happy with the gentleman that came out to do the appraisal, and don't get me wrong. Was very professional, I paid the 50% down and was told someone would call me when they were coming to do the clean out I never received a phone call, I had to call the company to get an idea of when they were coming, they showed up in my driveway at 8:30 in the morning when my husband and I were still in bed, the only reason I knew they were here was because I came downstairs to get coffee and saw there was a truck in my driveway. Some of the items in my garden were damaged when they went around the house with their ladders, but I was able to repair them. They turned one of my flood lights and didn't fix it so I couldn't use the flood lights in my backyard for several weeks until someone came out to fix it. Every time I talked on the phone with one of the representatives they would email me a payment link to complete payment And I felt like I was being hounded but I wasn't going to pay until they fixed the light. The two guys that were here weren't even here an hour and every time I checked my security cameras they were messing around on their phones so I don't even know what necessarily was cleaned. You'd think for what I was charged they would do a more thorough and professional job. $1,000 for less than an hours work?? Never again.....

Great experience from start to finish. Very responsive- received a visit and quote within 2 days of calling. Job completed in half a day even with extra work involved. Would highly recommend!

Thanks to the entire team at J Smegal Roofing who recently installed a new roof on our antique home. It was a big job — a rambling roof with irregular lines — and the crew handled each unique challenge with mastery. Every person was professional, polite and clearly tool pride in their work — displaying great teamwork throughout. The crew arrived on time, with all the equipment and supplies needed. Demolition of the existing roof was careful and contained, spots that needed repair were quickly identified, and the Foreman communicated frequently and clearly, keeping us apprised each step of the way. Couldn't be more pleased with the J Smegal experience. Raul and his team went above and beyond when doing our roof. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. They started at about 8am and had to replace half our roofs plywood and all our shingles, they were still able to get the job done by 1pm right before it rained.

Not only did they do an exceptional job but they ensured that our HVAC ducting was safe throughout the process. Let me tell you too, it was in a cramped awkward area and Raul and his team still were able to protect it.

They also went the extra mile with clean up, in the rain, and his whole team stopped for my wife and kiddos when they had to exit the house.

I'd recommend Jake Brown for the sales professional because he went the extra mile as well. Really took the time to assess what we needed. Honest guy too. Jeff Rocket also had great communication with the project.

If I were you I'd call Jake Brown at J Smegal and then specifically request Raul and his team if you're looking to get your roof done at a reasonable cost and have it done without issue.

In a world where contractors fail to show up to give you an estimate or give you an estimate but never answer your phone calls or show up to do the job and then never finish, I am grateful to deal with a business like gutter shutter. Everyone I dealt with was very professional. Communication was clear and timely. The price was right and Owen made it a point to explain the decisions about the placement of the gutter. It’s also nice to meet someone that checks in before making a decision or change. Finally the quality of the installation was definitely 5 stars. Thank you Owen.

Extremely thorough. Made sure everything was done perfectly and timely. The crew and project managers were cognizant and respectful of our home, dogs, children, and visitors, while coming and going. The crew left the job site as clean is it was prior to their arrival. The final product was done beyond expectations in one day.

From the salesperson's visit, Eric Sciola, to the removal of the dumpster, J Smegal has been professional in every step of the process of putting a new roof on our house. The project manager, Raul, was communicative, effective, and knowledgeable. They completed the job on the two days we scheduled weeks ago, and the roof looks great, with no mess or damage left behind. Shayna, on the phone/email at the head office, was accommodating to our needs. All of this for over $10k less than the two other bids we got this year. Plus they replaced our old skylights with new ones powered by the sun to open and close with remotes. I am completely satisfied and confident that if we do experience any roof issues in the next 40 years, that J Smegal will honor the warranty and take care of it.

Had all gutters replaced. Jimbo was our sales contact and did a great job to explain all of the costs and benefits of replacing our old gutters. Terry and his crew did an amazing and very professional installation. It was a big job and took two days. The crew even raked and swept up leaves against the house. I'll need a new roof in a few years and I know exactly who I'll be calling.

Fantastic company. They gave me a very fair quote and came out to do an emergency tarp immediately. Then when the full roof was ready to get replaced, I was kept in the loop on timing, and the workers came out promptly at 7:30 in the morning. They finished the whole job in two days. I was very impressed with how they cleaned up the yard afterwards. Could not ask for better service. The foreman Ian was attentive and conscientious throughout the entire process. When they came to assess it I was certain they would try to tell us we needed a whole new roof to get more money out of us. J Smegal's "Dream Team" arrived at 8 am at our home to begin the roofing job...good sized home with a 3-car attached garage. Within an hour they had all the old shingles off and were meticulous about carefully moving or covering anything that might be damaged from falling debris. By five pm, they had installed a lot of plywood and finished nailing the shingles in place. Completed the job in ONE day! The entire area around the project was cleaned up and swept for nails and whatever else hadn't been caught in the tarps and anything they had moved was put back in place. The crew members were efficient and courteous and did an amazing job. Highly recommend this awesome company for anyone in need of a new roof.

Raul was amazing. Not only was his work Fantastic, but he was 100% focused on our satisfaction. When the roof was about to be installed, we noticed the color of the roof tile wasn’t what we wanted. He made a call, they picked up the old tile and brought the correct color. They cleaned up wonderfully and Raul even helped my wife with a large piece of furniture that was delivered while they were there, as i was at work.

What a great company. Mike and his crew were amazing. It was a large roof three skylights. One of the skylights needed to be adjusted. They finished the entire job in one day. Mike was on top of everything and the crew worked like a well oiled machine. The cleanup was amazing. Dumpster was removed the next morning. I couldn’t ask for a better experience. I wish I could leave more than five stars. I am having them back to put some gutter screens on.

Tom was the Sales Rep who assisted me. He answered all my questions, helped me pick a roof color and even came back twice in one day so I could attend to a conference call. There was no pressure to sign a contract but when I did, there were no hidden fees etc. Everything was very clear and concise. He also followed up with me after the roof was installed to ask if there were any issues.

Raul was the foreman on the day the roof was installed. He arrived with approx 10 men who unloaded and immediately went to work. He walked my property with me and we went over any questions I had. The job was completed and cleaned up in 1 day. There were no nails left behind, the dumpster was removed by the end of the day and my lawn was clear of debris. He contacted me when additional material was need so there were no surprises and provided pictures of the area.

The foreman Paul and his crew of 9 did a fantastic job: very professional, thorough, a picture perfect quality roof installation, and totally cleaned up leaving our exterior house and yard clean.
