Very personable; however…
1) They didn’t replace all the fascia I asked them to.
2) It appears they put the drip edge on the porch AFTER they shingled, and then used silicone on the edge to hold it all together. They didn’t even install drip edge on the west side of the peak of the house.
3) Instead of replacing part of the roof deck on the eave at the front of the house, they shingled over it, and then put a stack of the ridge shingles in the soffit underneath it, assuming to try to prevent rot in the soffit? This leaves me wondering if the rest of my roof deck needed replacing, but they didn’t do that either.
4) There was no contract drawn up or signed, but I was charged $300 more than the price on which we agreed.

We had J & J repair the roof on our 110-year-old home. Brad met with me in person and looked over the area to be repaired. He explained very clearly what was needed and how he would accomplish the task. He was very polite and easy to work with. He did great work, and he and his helper did a fine job with clean up. Would definitely use them again.

J & J did a fantastic job roofing our house in north Fargo. The crew knocked out the job in a day. They were fast but diligent and took care to do a good job. They also ensured the roof and yard was cleaned up of any debris when they were done. I know also they stand behind their work. When I found on small area that needed attention after they had left, they were more than willing to come back and in fact did so the very next day. Their pricing was fair and market competitive too. I have no complaints and nothing but good things to say and highly recommend them if you are looking for quality service and a beuautiful new roof.

Jason and his crew did a fantastic job on my house. There was a sag in one part prior to them working some magic, and now it is gone! They are quick to come do an estimate and charge a fair price. Highly recommend!

I had some shingles blow off during some heavy wind we had come through Fargo in April. I contacted 4 roofing companies in the area but only Jason responded. Even while home sick he talked me through the process and set a time up to meet with me to go through the bid and what I needed to have done. I was doing this through an insurance claim, which we all know how that goes, it takes forever. Upon investigation of my roof he found I had 4 layers. My house was built in 1925 and it still had the original wood shake shingles, no osb and not properly flashed. With Jason's help we got insurance to pay for the full tear off, osb, drip edge, and new shingles. I also had him remove an old chimney and put new gutters and facia on. After serval months of fighting with insurance and Jason's help. We got it done. Huge thank you to Jason for all the help and the wonderful job.

Our roof sustained some damage during the Christmas ice storm. We contacted J&J and Jason came out same day to look at our home. After we got our side ready his crew came over next day and started. They showed up at 7 and we're done with a full replacement by 3 the same day. Our home has never looked nicer and they did and amazing job. We would recommend them for your next roofing project.

I would rate 0/5 if I could. They keep a large no collar no leash dog on their lot that I’ve seen charge people more than half a block away and follow them down snarling while far beyond the area the lot owns.

A business run by deceitful people with low regard for their animals life and the people nearby their lot.

J & J put a new roof on our home after some hail damage this summer. Excellent work and communication by everyone! Very attentive to their work and they truly care about their customers!

John was amazing to work with! So personable and explained everything so well. He repaired our siding and roof due to storm damage. He went above and beyond to try to match our siding color for the siding repair. He was right on time and got the work done quickly. I’d definitely call him again in the future.

We had a worrisome hole in our roof and the company responded very quickly. Jason was out on the Friday after Thanksgiving to give us an estimate. That Saturday they fixed the roof. The whole team was very professional and did a great job. They had to replace the facia board and the metal trim and some shingles. The work was very well done and looked like new.

We had a whirlybird blow off in the wind over the weekend. J & J Repairs and Roofing came out the same day we called and within the time they said they would be out (1 hr and a half). With several days of raining coming, they prioritized our needs. Greatly appreciate their fast response, service and super friendly!

The group of guys that did our roof were very professional. Fast effectient and super hard workers. They knew what they were doing. We haven't found one nail on the ground. It's like they weren't even there other than when you look up we have new shingles. I would definelty recommend this family owned business to anyone looking for new shingles.

I was WOWED! Highly recommend this family owned business. They treat you like family giving you the very best: spending time showing photos and satellite pictures and then service within 2 weeks. I was showed how I needed more vents and sealing around sky lights which apparently wasn't done last time roof was repaired by another company. In my estimation they go above and beyond, owners even stopping by job site during the day to answer questions/meet needs. Their team arrived early and worked throughout the day. Absolutely amazing company. Dave and his grandson came out same day and within 3 minutes knew exactly what the problems were. J&J is a local family owned business. They were absolutely fantastic from the time of our inspection and estimate until the completion of our project. I feel like we really got to know David and his son Jason quite well through the experience. They explained everything thoroughly, and went above and beyond to answer all of our dumb little questions. Let’s face it, most of us know nothing about roofing. I felt they were honest, knowledgeable and really cared about making us happy. We did some shopping around, and I can also say that J&J saved us a lot of money. I researched all of the brands of the products they used on our roof, and it is all top-notch, high quality materials. Our project was slightly challenging (see photo) as I share a roof with 3 other neighbors. Trying to line everything up from estimates, timing, contracts, payment etc, seemed like it was going to be stressful with so many people involved, but it wasn’t. It was a total piece of cake! David and Jason would literally drop what they were doing and be over to me within an hour when we were trying to sort out any of the details. They were probably here a half dozen times before a single old shingle was removed. They also tarped our roofs until the project could be completed (we had some minor leaks) and did an excellent job of clean-up after they were done. You wouldn’t have even known a large roofing project had taken place.

To wrap this up, I highly recommend J&J Repair and Roofing for your roofing project(s). At the very least, get an estimate and talk to these guys. They aren’t some corporate conglomerate, you will be talking in-person to the very people that are going to do the estimate, measuring, billing, ordering of your project materials etc. They do excellent work, they’ll save you some money, but most importantly, they are just a fun and honest family to work with. We had a roof that was leaking that needed immediate attention. so we got ahold of J&J roofing through a family friend. David came out and looked at our roof on a Thursday and scheduled our job to be done that following Monday. We had such a fantastic experience from start to finish with J&J. I would recommend them to anyone needing any roofing services! Great company- with great people! If I could give them 10 stars I would! I cannot thank them enough!

One day roof installation and clean up was reasonable considering the conditions of exciting shingles. Only one plant needs some minor tweaks. Again, the roof now looks great. Thanks David, Jason and crew.

We made a plan to tie our addition roof into our current roof. They said they would be there to do the job when we were ready, and they followed through. They finished quickly even with hot conditions, and the end product was as promised and looks great!

I cannot describe how great of a company and the workers/owners of J and J are. Not only do they make sure the work done is perfect at a fair price, they completely look after you as a customer. They advocate for you. J and J called the electric company and had them out on-site the same day to fix some sub-par work the electric company had done months earlier. The owner stayed on site to make sure every repair was done perfect, you do not see this often from other companies. J and J surpassed my expectations in every way.

I worked with both Dave and Jason on our project. The quote was provided within an hour after I contacted them and they were able to fit us in the same week since they were in the area. We discovered our roof venting was cracked during the spring thaw. We called several other roofing companies only to be told that they hadn’t called their crews up yet, and we could plane put on waiting lists. Some companies told us we’d be at least a month out. We called J and J on a Tuesday, and he gave us several options to consider. We opted to replace all of our attic venting. They were out to our place on Thursday to get us in before the rain expected that weekend. They were so friendly, responsive, and came in less than they quoted on the phone. Highly recommend!

Excellent company to work with. Dave was extremely professional and streamlined the entire process. I had my garage reroofed and the skylights on my house repaired. I was out of of town when the work was completed. When I returned home the work exceeded my expectations, it was done beautifully. The clean up was immaculate, you would not even be able to tell a company was there and reroofed a garage. I will only use J&J in the future.

These guys are awesome! I called them yesterday because our turbine vent was completely by our finest ND wind. They were super responsive and kept in contact with me the whole way through. Fixed me up the next day and inspected my other one. Great guys, that did a great job! If I have anything come up in the future they will be my first call! Thanks J &J!

J&J Repairs & Roofing did a fantastic job of replacing all of my roofs (house, garage and shed). Clean, efficient and they knew exactly what was needed at every step. Quality materials and no short cuts!

Family business. Large, well-coordinated and trained crew took only 2 days to do the job and stayed safe while doing it. Removed old roof. Took pictures of bad choices and workmanship of previous roofers for me in case I need them. Used high quality materials to install more durable, new roof. Replaced fire hazard of electric vent fan with superior system of passive vents. Cleaned up well afterward. Communicated with me at every stage. Also to give context of the difficulty: my house is tall, surrounded by trees and a garden, the roof is fairly steeply pitched and includes a chimney that had to be worked around. Not the easiest job.

David and Jason are very kind and generous. They did beautiful work on my roof and went above and beyond on their service. The job was completely done, start to finish in two days despite it being a very hot day. The one thing I wish they had done differently is giving me more advanced notice for when they would be able to do the job as they called me the evening before they started, but I understand things don’t always go to plan in the construction field so that’s not always possible.

We called this company based on their excellent reviews on Google. Our whirlybird went missing after a wind storm. I called the company before 8am and Dave answered the phone! He stated he would have someone out to our home before the end of the work day. He did exactly that! By 3pm we had a new whirlybird and a little education on them (we truly didn’t know much about whirlybirds OR their importance). Would recommend AND will be using again in the future as needed. Thanks for being so quick! It was truly an EASY experience for us as Dave did all the hard work. Thanks again!

Highly recommend! Needed whirlybird replaced after recent wind storm. Called J&J and they came out the same day to replace it. Very professional, efficient and reasonably priced.

Not sure who might read this but if you need a shingling job this is the company to call. We have a 20 unit condo complex arranged in 4 groups of four units and 2 groups of two units. These guys completed the job on all six roofs in five days! That's removing all the old roofing down to bare sheeting, ice covering 3' up all around the roof and the valleys, new tin on all valleys and vents or chimneys. They did a terrific, concise job of laying out the shingles for all the roofs and the results are excellent. Maybe the best part of their speed and accuracy is their attitude. These guys like what they're doing and seem to enjoy the work. The cleanup was perfect afterwards leaving no materials on the ground and repeatedly ran magnets around the buildings to remove any nails. When two residents voiced concern over downspouts not reconnected they promptly reconnected those and then inspected all 20 units for any other issues. They performed all the necessary machine work on driveways or parking pads and left almost no imprints on the lawns.
We couldn't be happier with the results and the services provided by this group. Do yourself a favor and give them a call!

I called at night, during the first rainfall of the year. They sent someone out to my house in 30 minutes to tarp my roof so it would stop leaking. I really appreciate this company for how fast they act.

March 2020 David McCrackin (J&J Repairs and Roofing) removed our skylight. David returned our call quickly, stopped to inspect the problem, gave a couple suggestions and....... the crew was here to fix the problem at the time we were told to expect them. They did a great job repairing roof damage, the shingles blended very well with the old roof and they cleaned up all mess. David provided a copy of his state and city licenses as well as certificate of insurance, without our asking. We are having their recommended company finish the inside cosmetic work as well. Amazing service! David McCrackin is a man of his word. We had a time sensitive roof issue and they responded immediately and completed a quality job within 1.5 hours at a reasonable price. You don’t need to look any farther than J&J for roofing projects.

J & J Repairs and Roofing are an amazing company. In the midst of a blizzard on Friday, January 17th I had a whirlybird blow off my roof leaving a 12 inch hole in my roof. With the wind and snow, my attic was going to fill with snow and potentially cause indoor ceiling damage once it started to melt. The weather was cold and wind gusts were hitting 60 mph. David took my call, worked with his sons and got a new whirlybird installed that day! I cannot say enough on the timely communications he provided as promised and the great work done in horrible working conditions. I will be using J & J for any further needs I have and will recommend them to my family and friends. David and his team came out to our house - in a blizzard - to repair some roof damage caused by that blizzard the night prior. He didn't want more damage done if more snow had gotten inside the house. He was at our home a mere couple hours after we called, which actually delayed his own trip out of town. That is above and beyond and more than we could have asked. Very much appreciated his response and timeliness, which likely saved us a lot of money in potential damages. We are grateful and will definitely use his company again for future work.
