Jim Becker is a first class contractor. He is very experienced, has good quality employees, suggests the right appliances/framing/finishes, etc. at his suppliers' discounted prices. He is hands-on and communicates every step of the project through completion.

JD Becker Construction did a great job on installing my kitchen backsplash. I also had them update my guest bathroom and main bathroom upstairs. Through the whole planning process, Jim communicated with me and was patient answering my questions till I fully understood what the end product would look like. We've used JD Becker for a number of home projects, and he's always the first one we call now. From outdoor painting and chimney flashing/repair to indoor bathroom water/steam remediation, and most recently, a full overhaul of our front and back stairs. The curved architecture made it very difficult, and Jim and his team did an outstanding job transforming the rounded 90's finishes to a more modern squared off look (full carpet removal and replacement with hardwood, squaring off bottom steps, replacing main posts....which involved CUTTING the custom curved banister....and replacing all the spindles with wrought iron, and painting the 2 story foyer).

I have, what Jim diplomatically calls, "a detail oriented eye," and I really appreciate his, and his team's, attention to detail. They do not compromise quality to "hurry up and finish" to move onto the next job. They do it well, and they do it right. He is clear and upfront with pricing, and does a great job maintaining communication throughout the project.

Jim and his talented crew handled our bed and bath remodel perfectly. They did such a good job working with our designer that we added a laundry room to the scope. Rough, plumbing, electrical and finish was all completed carefully and efficiently. We love our fresh new space. Jim is transparent and honest with pricing and schedule. Strongly recommend!

Jim and his crew do outstanding workand have excellent attention to detail! They even went out of their way to incorporate some paver blocks I had into the presentation of my new deck. Brilliant, beautiful work. Worth every penny.

Jim Becker of JD Becker Construction is a smart man and a great guy! His work is superb! He remodeled my entire home from the roof down to the basement. He turned my entire home from a house from the 1950s into a beautiful, updated 21st century living space! Not only does he do great work, but he goes "above and beyond" to help the customer. He drove me to the granite warehouse in Farmington to help me pick out granite for my kitchen and bathroom counters. He met me at the local tile shop to help me pick out tiles and backsplash for my kitchen, as well as tiles for my bathrooms. He built the most beautiful cabinet for my router and modem so that it's just not sitting out on a desk with wires and cords all over everywhere! He works with the best subcontractors, which I found out when I had to have my entire electrical grid updated to accommodate all of the updated appliances. He made great suggestions and installed beautiful lighting for my bathroom and kitchen. He actually enlarged my bathroom and kitchen space. He removed a 40-pound hot water tank and replaced it with a one-gallon tank that is attached to the wall, which gave me more space in my laundry room. I refer to Jim as "my contractor" because he does "extra" things for me like coming to my rescue to reset my sump pump when it stopped running because I didn't know how to do it. He picked up a dehumidifier for me and installed it with a hose so I wouldn't have to continuously empty a bucket! When I got all new furniture in my home, he took all of the old furniture outside, set in on the carport and covered it with a tarp so that it would stay clean and dry until Habit for Humanity could pick it up. He installed every new TV in my home. I could go on and on about all the great things that Jim Becker and his crew have done for me, and all of the great work that they do in building and remodeling. I highly recommend him, as I have recommended him to several of my friends. I have had a great relationship with JD Becker Construction for almost 8 years, and I plan to use them for any remodeling that I will do in the future. I have already talked to him about remodeling the outside of my home. He has a great crew working with him. They do beautiful work, as well as they are polite, mannerly, and timely.

Jim has done multiple jobs for us over the years... interior and exterior. The work is top notch and the follow up support is better.

So happy we hired JDBecker Construction to completely remodel our upstairs bathroom as well as install a new vanity, lights and mirror in the primary bath. His attention to detail was outstanding and met our high expectations!
His team, Brantley, Braedon, Brandon and Steve were professional, courteous and cleaned the job site at the end of each day. They do outstanding work.
In fact, Jim noticed some dust on our downstairs wood floors and sent his house cleaners over mid job! What a nice touch!

We hired J D Becker Construction to replace the decking and railing on our 20 yo deck. With one head-scratching exception, we were pleased with the approach and the finished product…until the last day of work. The crew was professional and competent; attention to detail was good; customer consultation was mostly good; worksite cleanup was performed daily. Managing schedule commitments was a problem throughout and became a trigger for a wholly unacceptable customer experience at the end of the project. With his estimate of 1-1.5 hours of remaining railing work, Mr. Becker, paid in full to that point, failed to show or communicate on 2 consecutive days he had identified for project completion. On day 4, overreacting to a second text from me seeking a schedule update, Becker broke his silence with a full bore, rage-filled rant, replete with distortions, diversions, projections, and threats, this from a man ~25 years younger and ~40 lbs heavier than I. Scary. Becker did show the following day to complete the project, still wearing his anger on his sleeve. He reneged on and disavowed his commitment for final billing, invoiced me for phantom hours, and unilaterally drove up product costs. Metal shards were left strewn around the work site. Becker “delivered” a misaligned, gapped, and damaged miter joint and has ignored my requests for him to address this unacceptable work. He has refused and ignored both my and the manufacturer’s requests for documentation to register a 30 year product warranty. After paying Becker nearly $20k for the project, he turned his back on this customer based on a misdirected sense of grievance and failure of perspective. Based on his snap abandonment of professionalism and civility, ethically-challenged billing practices, frequent no shows, out of control anger episodes and customer disrespect, refusal to support the warranty registration process, and failure to stand by his work, I cannot recommend Mr. Becker. Be careful out there.

The crew was professional, clean, and on time. Even the electrician commented on how nice of a job they did. I would use them again without hesitation.

We had Jim and his crew come back for another outstanding model of our master bathroom. They did an excellent job with very custom high end finishes throughout. Highly recommend JD Becker Construction!

I was stuck behind a truck from this company on US-12. Cans and other various pieces of trash kept flying out of the bed of the truck and hitting my windshield. When I tried to pass the driver in a passing zone to get around the flying trash, he sped up to 90 and cut me off. Unprofessional and dangerous.
