I had carpet removed from my stairs and vinyl installed by a flooring company, but they didn’t do anything with the staircase sideboards, which were full of staple holes and painted gray. There were also big gaps between the sideboards and the baseboard trim at the top and bottom of the stairs. Ethan patched, sanded, and filled in the gaps in the trim, and painted the sideboards white to match the adjacent trim. By the time he finished, the stairway looked great, and I couldn’t tell it had once been carpeted. Ethan’s estimate was very reasonable, too, less than half what another handyman had quoted me. The first three photos are before the work was done, while the last three were afterwards.
