We did not have a 5-star experience with Impression Roofing and would not use them again or recommend them to others. Going through severe storms and unexpected damage to our home was an incredibly stressful experience. Navigating an insurance claim process was even more overwhelming, which is why we originally saw the appeal of working with a company that specializes in this work and has dedicated project managers to help.

Our situation completely unraveled when we began asking questions and needed clarification regarding our final invoice from the company. My husband spoke to our project manager over the phone on a Friday afternoon and requested that we be credited on our final invoice for the portion of the work that HE completed on our property on his own. The project manager became rude and defensive and ended the call abruptly and then proceeded to send multiple text messages to me and my husband that included insults, changes to the terms of our written contract, financial threats, and demands.

I have included the screenshots of those messages. These messages were sent after hours on a Friday with the demand for an in full payment of a final invoice of over $7,000 by Monday morning. The fine that was quoted was $736/day for every day the invoice was not paid in full.

After legal consultation, we learned that this is illegal and violates multiple consumer rights laws and is also just not how you treat paying customers or conduct business. The owner of the company was resistant to communicating with us directly. After he finally did reach out, he had not taken the time to get updates from his staff nor did he read the messages sent from his project manager to us as customers. During that conversation with me, he agreed to go back and read the original messages and then follow up back up. He has never contacted us again.

Here is what we learned through this process in the hopes of helping young/new homeowners or anyone who lacks experience with home insurance claims and contract work.

1. Take a deep Breath. Pause. Do not feel rushed or pressured in any decisions.
2. File your insurance claim on your own and if this feels intimidating to you, as it did us, seek consultation with a third party who doesn’t stand to gain in any way from your tragedy. (You can even google the dos and don’ts of filing home insurance claims- there are so many helpful resources online)
3. When you meet a project manager don’t fall for the bait and switch. Don’t sign anything immediately. You are interviewing them! Do your research, asks LOTS of questions up front, and meet with at least 2 or 3 companies so you can compare your upfront experiences.
4. Do NOT immediately sign a release to allow your contractor to communicate directly with your insurance. You can essentially be completely cut out of the communication process depending on the integrity of your project manager and claim adjusters assigned your case
5. IF you begin encountering issues with your insurance claim and you have developed trust with your project manager you can always sign a release allowing communication when and if necessary.
6. Whenever possible, Go LOCAL!! But still with a reputable and insured contracting company. When they are local, they stand a far greater risk damaging their reputation if they don’t conduct themselves with professionalism and integrity.

They came out to determine storm damage we received from a hail storm, met with our insurance adjuster when they came out to assess the damage, and worked with our insurance company to ensure they covered all the damage we received, even when our insurance company continued to make us jump through hoops to get this done. They were extremely knowledgeable and professional and did a great job. Super thankful for all their hard work and perseverance when working with our insurance company. We have since changed our insurance company because they were horrible to work with but Impression will forever be our roofer of choice! Thanks to Joseph and his team!

Impression Roofing did a great job on our re-roof. They helped us negotiate with the insurance company to maximize coverage of our hail damage. They worked with us every step of the way. When it came time to do the work they protected all the windows and covered the landscaping. The work was completed in a day with the gutters completed the next day. The roof looks great.

Impression Roofing was incredible to work with! It’s been over a year since they replaced our roof, and the work has held up flawlessly against the tough Texas weather. Impression Roofing in general and Joseph in particular was wonderful to work with. We had some hail damage found during our home's inspection and Impression Roofing was able to have a crew to replace the roof within 2-3 days and finish the same day, which meant there was no delay in putting our house on the market.

After getting hit with one of the massive hailstorms of 2023, it was a relief when I met Joseph Miller from Impression Roofing. He truly was on my side when working with my insurance and took the time to review all the damage our home encountered. Jamerez helped me start the process with my insurance company, he was available for the walk through, and he thoroughly explained how the process would work. He was there early to supervise his team while they replaced my roof and gutters which made me feel comfortable enough to go about my day. Impression Roofing saved our bacon! After a storm we had them come out to take a look at our roof and they found leaks that had been going on and had caused a LOT of damage to the shingles. We learned that we had to replace the roof, gutters etc. and were nervous to find out the cost. Benjamin Danler saw some damage on the roof and knocked on my door. I was at first reluctant as my past experience with our roofer was not good at all. I am glad I opened the door for Benjamin that day and gave him a chance to work on our roof. He is a professional and very honest project manager and understands all the things that go into roofing besides the actual work, and we had no issues with our insurance covering his work. From start to finish, my Project Manager, Benjamin Danler, was handling everything. He even started my initial claim. Our process took awhile because our insurance company was not providing us with enough funding to complete our roof. They started by hiring an appraiser, and then we had to call in an umpire. Only then did the insurance company agree to additional funds. The day the roof was put on, Benjamin was there during the complete process. His crew went out of their way to protect our landscaping, and were diligent in making sure all the debris was picked up. The first salesman came out with a senior sales person / estimator with his junior, pretty straightforward, but never told me to sign anything, or what the process was like. About 2 months went by they come out again, Wrote another contract about $800 difference the same amount for an upgraded shingles they could not convey clearly why the difference with regards to the original contract with the senior estimator. still have no idea why the difference.
Work was complete. However, they left materials on the side of the house never cleaned up. I asked for it to be cleaned up. It took about two months. The salesman or Junior estimator was slow to call or text or just call back ,
There’s expose nails, water runoff, and garbage still being found throughout the yard.

I’m contacting my insurance company and having the roof respected.

In matter of hours Joseph came to my home to explain not only the damage but also the root cause arround the wall leakeage. Joseph and Impression Roofing did a really nice job with our hail claim from last February’s hail storm in Frisco. He stayed on top of our insurance adjuster and ensured that we got all of the damage covered. They got 3 bids to repair the stucco, painted all of the exterior trim, eves, siding and soffits. 10 STARS! These are the experts that you need on your team. Impression Roofing worked on my home after hail damage. I had dozens of companies knock on my door soliciting business. I chose Impression Roofing because when Emmett knocked on my door he educated me on things that I had no idea. Things like my insurance covers much more than roof and fence repair. They cover AC unit damage, garage door damage and patio furniture damaged by hail and so much more. They meticulously inspected my home and documented the finest details of hail damage. When my insurance had the audacity to deny certain coverages, Joseph, Emmett and Jarrod stood strong for me and got EVERYTHING covered. Jarrod and Joseph used to be the BAD GUYS so they know ALL of the tricks and schemes that insurance companies use to cut corners and deny claims. We pay too much for premiums and deductibles to be screwed over!!! Lastly, I have very high expectations, I can be hard to please and I'm pretty demanding when it comes to taking care of my home. They were always kind, respectful, responsive, honest and educating throughout the entire process. True professionals. Even my neighbors wanted to know how I was able to get so much done to my home through my insurance claim. They felt they had been duped by the companies they used. It took quite a while and a lot of hoops to jump through to get our insurance company to actually get a start on the process. The duo above were very patient and diligent in their work. Once everything start rolling, they got me the date where the roof will get installed and everything was impeccable. The team did an excellent job, all done in one day and the crews left the place cleaner than when they first arrived. Not to mention that they will find everything, I mean everything relates to the issue that can be fixed and will get it fixed.
