I recently used IDEAL to remodel my home and I had a great experience all around. The customer service was phenomenal, the quality of work was absolutely great, the price was within my budget, and most importantly they finished on time for me to move in. I’ve used plenty of other contractors in the DMV area and I honestly can’t think of a better experience than the one I just had with IDEAL. It’s a family-owned business, and I had the pleasure of meeting two members of the family. They’re very honest and personable with a vast knowledge in construction. I just felt like I was really taken care of and that’s really important to me. I sincerely recommend this company and thank you for all your hard work!

We turned to Ideal Construction & Remodeling to create an ADU to be attached to our daughter and her husband's home which would both incorporate and enhance the architecture of their home and provide us a living space we could be proud to call "home." Not only did they make the process a smooth, amenable one, the end result far exceeded our expectations at a cost that we could afford. Zade Jarrar, who worked directly with us, embodies everything you could dream of in a contractor. He listens well, stays on top of every stage of construction, follows through with his promises, returns calls promptly and is respectful and decent to the core. Not only was he accessible and considerate of our concerns, he offered the sam in with the main house and those who have walked inside affirm what we are enjoying, a most spacious looking and feeling home to enjoy in our retirement years.

We had several companies provided written designs and estimates for an additional. Ideal Construction and Remodeling provided the best design and the most reasonable price. They had a lot of experience working within Fairfax County and was able to walked us through the BZA process. We encountered few issues along the way but the company was able to address them quickly and professionally. Although the project was delayed a little, it was finished within budget. We had many remodeling projects in the past, this company is by far the most reliable and professional that we have worked with.

Zade and team at Ideal Construction were excellent partners in the resign and remodel of our home. The responsiveness and friendly but professional approach to completing this project was outstanding. I would highly recommend Zade and team to others with large-scale projects.

After 22 years in DC I have definitely left more negative reviews than positive ones for contractors. However Zade and his team at Ideal were really, really great. They were professional, highly competent, punctual, extremely flexible, and very patient with my many changes. They always had a 'can-do' attitude and were super easy to work with. Nothing was a problem that they couldn't figure out. Zade was excellent to work with and Elmer (Zade's construction team leader) and his team were absolutely amazing. I highly recommend.

Ideal remodeled our master bathroom and did an incredible job. The team, and especially their project manager Zade, was adaptable to our requests even after the project was underway (and we had a few), provided thoughtful suggestions, was collaborative about solving issues that popped up along the way, and was courteous and responsive.

A few highlights:
- As the project started, we decided to go curbless for the shower instead of the originally planned design. No problem - they updated the estimate without any issue.
- We noticed an issue with molding on the windows not being properly aligned. Came up with a cost effective solution and took care of the issue within the day.
- Electrician had come in and installed outlets on the walls. Wall mirrors came after; during install Zade noticed that aligning and centering the mirrors with the lighting sconces and faucets would have placed one mirror directly over the outlet. He spent 20 minutes patiently discussing possible options with my wife (with the electrician grumbling in the background because all options required him to do some additional work). In the end, everything is aligned. Feel like other contractors would have ignored the issue entirely or taken shortcuts.

The end result is an amazing bathroom; you can see their attention to detail. We are confident in the craftsmanship and they will be our first call for our next project.

Update (a few months later): I had to provide an update to give more props to Zade and team. An issue popped up months after completion that required taking down some drywall and a minor repair. Within few days of notifying Zade, he had come out to look at the issue, had someone come to make the necessary repair, and replaced the drywall and paint. All in the span of a few days. Let’s face it, the work done by many contractors will be similar. The differentiator will be in the service and the peace of mind that the work will be done well. You’ll get that with this crew.

Ideal Construction and Remodeling did a phenomenal job on the updating and renovation of our outdoor living area! From start to finish we were impressed with the company’s superior workmanship, timeline, budget control and excellent communication.
Zade and his crew replaced a 26 ft supporting beam and installed 5 new wrapped posts on new footings as well as a new ceiling and outdoor fan under an existing addition.
His entire team were highly skilled, hard-working, dependable and cleaned up the work space very thoroughly every day.
Zade is a true professional, very knowledgeable, easy to work with and extremely organized. He is easy to reach, answered all our questions, offered helpful suggestions and kept us informed and updated. We really appreciated him being on site for major milestones, quality control and for checking in on progress throughout the project. He also was open to do additional work by leveling our dining room floor and installing extra fans in our house.

Recently completed a major remodel and couldn't be more pleased with the results. Ideal was a great partner to us, our architect, and our landscaper and worked with the entire team to produce stunning results. Ideal was extremely accommodating of various changes we made without unreasonably increasing their price, all the while staying on schedule and within budget. We are so happy that we found Ideal Construction! Of the list of contractors we originally started with, Ideal was actually the only one who didn’t come from a personal reference, but their reviews online were so good and consistent that we added them to our list. In the end, they were the most responsive to our initial questions and request for a bid, that ultimately our decision to use them was easy (we started with a list of 5 contractors). We used them to add an addition to our house, remodel the kitchen and add a mudroom/powder room.

A few things really set them apart. First, they were and are so incredibly responsive. Texts, emails, calls were all returned quickly. Zade was our project manager and always found time to stop by, even if it meant coming over the weekend or in the evening to accommodate our work schedules. I felt comfortable sending him a quick text whenever I had a question, and he always got right back to me. Some of the contractors I was given from friends were hardly responsive enough for me to get a consult or a bid. Almost all the other contractors we met with never even followed up with us after providing a bid. That really shocked me considering how much money we were investing in our house. Even now, I wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to Zade if I had a question and our remodel was completed months ago.

Secondly, Zade and his crew came up with several creative and cost-cutting ideas to help me achieve the look I wanted, while staying within budget. Reusing a door, building out shelving, and even helping me come up with a way to save my beautiful old oak floors that I didn’t want to replace. The end result is beautiful and we love our new addition and kitchen. Investing in our home and using Ideal was the best decision we could’ve made.

Lastly and most importantly, Ideal Construction is truly just a kind, decent, hard-working family run company! When you hire a contractor to do work in your home, you are inviting them into your life for an extended period of time. I didn't take it lightly that whoever we hired would be in and out of my house for months, interacting with my kids and creating a space that my family would enjoy for many, many years ahead. Zade and his crew couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. He seems to work 24 hrs a day, but always made us feel like we were his only project.

Downsides? We experienced a couple of delays, but that was more due to outside companies (the gas company needing to move our meter was a huge frustration and a delay with our cabinet makers). Again, Zade and his crew never left us hanging or were delayed in responding to our questions or concerns.

This group was wonderful. They were responsive, flexible, and efficient. Their work was beautifully done. I only regret not doing it sooner. We would use them again for any household project. Thank you so much!

Highly recommend Ideal Construction, they did a great job on our open concept Kitchen remodel! Zade and his team were great to work with, from first consultation through project completion. Zade really listened to what we wanted, he and his architect came up with plans to open up our main level, in a way other contractors said would not be possible. The project came in at budget. As walls came down issues were uncovered, but Zade always came with a solution that had minimal impact to the budget and layout (I/e re-routing plumbing and duct work to still allow for open concept and fixing the original support of our house). Project finished in the original timeline as well, even with delays caused due to permitting, the team was efficient and worked weekends to make up for the lost time. Zade was flexible and accommodating, meeting us on a weekly basis to review progress, setting out the plans for the coming week, getting our input, and communicating timely and with a solution as issues came up. Overall, we love our kitchen, they did a really great job and just a really great group to work with!

Zade and the ideal team we’re great. It was a really big project, and it turned out better than we hoped. Random strangers stop when they are walking down the street to tell us how great everything looks.

We interviewed five companies; we liked Zade the best. We were happy when their their price was in the middle of the pack. They connected us with an architect, took care of all permits, etc, and introduced to a great designer as well. There were no “surprises” or cost overruns. They allowed us to add a few additional tasks (including an additional bathroom renovation) to the project after we started. They resolved everything on the punch list and did not leave us hanging.

In addition to doing high-quality work, they were very accommodating as well. We were able to stay in the house, even with a quarter of the roof missing. They didn’t mind our two large dogs. They cleaned up everyday to help minimize the disruption.

Safe and his company helped me with several projects (ranging from outside work, like re-grouting the tiles or replacing house siding to bathroom tiling and dry wall work). I was very pleased with the quality of the work. Zade was very responsive, attentive and flexible as we worked through my projects and made a few changes to the original scope. His team is also very friendly and professional. Thank you Zade!

Ideal did an excellent job on a complex remodel. Zade was professional, accommodating, and produced an outstanding result. We recommend them and would use them again. No project this complex is without hiccups, but when they happened Ideal Construction came through. Well done.

We had a fantastic experience with Ideal Construction & Remodeling and very highly recommend them. From the first meeting with Zade, we were incredibly impressed. They were professional, responsive, and creative, and they worked closely with us throughout the entire process. They finished the work on time (a near miracle given our tight timeframe!) and within budget, and their finished work well exceeded our expectations. More on our project and experience with IC&R:

Our home was built in 1937 and had a semi-finished basement that we wanted to finish into additional living space for our expanding family. The structure itself is solid and good to work with, but there were a few challenges in the basement, like ceiling height, old pipes, old duct work, etc. We wanted to create a space that felt like it was a continuation of the upstairs living space and not just a “finished basement,” and we were adamant that any work fully comply with county regulations. Various contractors were consulted over about a ten-year period, but their plans were not appealing and at least two suggested doing work “under the radar” to get around ceiling height issues, so nothing quite fell into place.

At the recommendation of a friend, we asked Zade Jarrar at IC&R to come over the look at the basement. From that first meeting, we were blown away. He spent at least two hours with us and addressed all of our questions and concerns. We explained what we were looking for in expanding the space and why. He really listened to us and understood, and right away he began sharing ideas about things we could do—ideas that were more creative than anything we’d heard before and that would give us the kind of space we really wanted—all while fully complying with county regulations.

The planning process went very smoothly. The architect definitely got what we were trying to do and was responsive to our ideas. All of the people who worked on the project were professional, respectful, and happy to answer any questions we had. They carefully followed the plans and were flexible when we made modifications along the way. The office staff were also great to communicate with. And IC&R’s app was really helpful in tracking the work.

We cannot say enough about Zade himself. He came on site nearly every day to see how the work was going, and he was great in offering insights and recommendations as we made various selections. He was very responsive, answering endless questions in person and by text. He kept running lists of what we discussed and followed up on open items. And he had great attention to detail on all aspects of the project. Zade got all of the inspections done and made the whole process as seamless for us as it could possibly be.

The end results are just amazing. The downstairs (we no longer say “basement”) has two bedrooms with egress windows (one of which is the second largest in the house), a full bathroom, a laundry room with pantry shelves, and a family room. It’s beautiful and welcoming and feels like an extension of the rest of the house. Everyone who has seen it cannot believe what IC&R was able to do with the space, and we all love spending time downstairs.

As mentioned above, the project was completed on time against a ridiculously tight timeline. IC&R stayed on budget, and the few overages we had were due changes/selections that we made along the way knowing there would be additional cost. There were no unpleasant surprises at all.

In short, the entire IC&R team was a pleasure to work with, and we could not be happier with the work that they did. We would definitely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone.

Last summer, my fiancée Linda and I decided to look ahead to our about-to-grow family and wanted to do extensive renovations on our 1939 Arlington home. We had a pretty set idea of what we envisioned and some experience with remodeling. The key was to find a company that would / could listen, share and be responsive to our ideas; maintain the renovations in a manner that reflected the history of the house - and at a price we could afford. After too many experiences with shiny drawings and lunches in the showroom, Ideal Construction and Remodeling was suggested to us and we reached out. What we found was a family owned company that would focus on us as the customer, and were only interested in finding a solution to our dreams. We met with one of the sons, Zade Jarrar, the Project Manager. Through our conversations we developed a trust, and confidence in their ability to finish the project. We were very pleased with their proposal price, definitely fit our budget and allowed us to be comfortable with the construction and allowed us to add some things we were only hoping to have. Zade was very responsive, always available, frequently on site and “hands on” with all aspects.
One of the reasons Ideal Construction can deliver for the proposal price is the excellent group of subcontractors they utilize. Rather then have a large staff needing constant support they have vetted a small number of experienced workmen who come into your home anxious to please. They will discuss what they are doing and work to provide what you tell them you envision, all with Zade’s constant oversight. One thing we noticed was they all enjoyed their projects with Ideal Construction. The only problem encountered, and one we grew to understand, was the occasional delay due to problems the subcontractor may experienced on another job that delayed their starting on ours. Any change in schedule this caused was always minor and, again, allowed us do the project within the proposed budget and completed near the proposed date.
We would recommend Ideal Construction to any person who cares about quality, execution, budget and commitment. I have referred Ideal Construction to many friends and have had Zade drop by just to check on the renovations. They will be at your side from concept to completion.

We have used Ideal for several projects including adding a addition to our home, external refacing and most recently skylights. Zade and his team are top notch, honest and sincere.

Ideal Construction was easily the best contractor I have worked with in recent years. We remodeled a bathroom in our second home and did not have the time to be onsite. Ideal managed the project, did exceptional work , stayed in contact with us daily and solved problems we didn't even know existed. I don't usually write stellar reviews, but I cannot say enough complimentary about their work and high standards. We have decided to continue remodeling the Washington DC apartment as we now have a contractor we can rely on.

The Ideal Construction team did a fantastic job for us on a tricky renovation project that involved removing interior stairs to create a completely open first floor level, renovating the kitchen, completely finishing an unfinished basement (including excavation and underpinning portions to increase the ceiling height), and building a new light filled stair tower to connect the basement first, and second floor levels. I work on the commercial side of the building industry and I found that our project manager Zade was incredibly accessible, responsive, and attentive. The few times I did notice small issues, Zade typically already had it on his list as something to address. I recommend the ideal team and would use them again if I ever have the need.

They put a fabulous, large addition on our home. The work was done well and in a timely fashion. The project manager was always available and accommodating. We love the new space.

After my father died, I needed to have some renovations done to his Arlington townhouse before I could put it on the market. My Redfin realtor recommended Jason Jarrar of Ideal Construction. She spoke of Jason very highly and said that he was extremely reliable. I had very little money to spend on the improvements up front. I gave Jason a figure which was my upper limit and he said he would not exceed that. Still, I was nervous: I’d heard about contractors exceeding their budgets, asking for further work and more money to complete it. I was delighted when Jason completed the work for EXACTLY the amount he had estimated it would cost – and not a penny more. He is truly a man of his word. And the work he did was beautiful: it was exactly as it had been described. Jason even came back once the work was competed and fixed a few minor odds and ends, without charging me anything! Overall, working with Ideal Construction was a great experience. Reliable, fast, friendly, courteous, prompt to respond to texts/emails, and affordable. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Jason and Zade did a great job for my addition a few years ago, adding about 1400 sq ft, incl. a 2nd fl above my garage. I obtained about 6 estimates. Their pricing was very reasonable (but not the cheapest) and work quality above average. This is not to say there weren't ups and downs. But, what sets them apart is their honesty and dedication. When the tarp covering the exposed garage (no roof yet) caved in from a downpour at night, Jason and Zade came over personally and helped secure the situation (Jason was still wearing his suit from an event he was attending). When the electrical was being done, they realized they did not include the price for over 15 recessed lights. They only charged me for their cost for the materials (no extra labor costs). When something went wrong, they took responsibility and worked it out with me. Even after the project was finished, they stayed committed to their dedication for a happy customer. When there was a leak from the roof, damaging ceilings and drywall, they fixed everything at no cost. When the heat pump's condensate wasn't draining properly and caused ceiling and drywall damage, they fixed everything at no cost. Earlier this year, shingles came down from the roof. They had their roofer come check and repaired whatever needed repairing - again at no cost. There was one floor piece that was completely different than the rest of the floor. It bothered me, but I didn't raise any issue until 3 years later. They had their flooring guy replace it at no cost. Completely trustworthy guys.

Ideal Construction is my first call whenever I need something done in our house, and I happily recommend them to friends, my family, and our neighbors! I haven't found anything yet that they can't handle - electrical, plumbing, interior or exterior, they can do it all. Everyone I have worked with is professional and works hard to achieve the highest standards while also ensuring that our expectations are met, and frequently exceeded.

I'm not the best customer either: I do not know the ins and outs of home repair and remodeling and often have many questions. They don't mind taking the time to make sure I understand the details, any options, and potential risks. The staff is friendly, professional, and work hard to make sure that we, the customer, are happy with the results!

They have worked on large and small projects for us, from turning a poorly enclosed back room into a great screened-in porch, to drywall and ceiling work. I have even had them fix issues that another local handyman/plumber was only able to partially fix.

TL;DR: They are great to work with and they produce excellent results!

We did a ton of research going back a couple years to assure our significant addition was going to be ideal for our family and hire a high quality contractor to construct. We wanted the best materials with an architect and skilled labors that could assure a top notch final product. We love the addition and have recommended Ideal Construction to other friends and neighbors.

Jason, Zade and the rest of the Ideal Construction team were wonderful to work with. Jason came out initially to take a look at the project and give his expertise/ideas for how best to open up the walls and remodel the kitchen. Their team paid close attention to detail and Zade, project manager, came out several times to meet with Arlington County inspector after each part of the project was completed. Zade and Jason coordinated all of the different workers (electrical, plumbing, demo, flooring, etc..) and completed the project in a timely and professional manner. They were easy to work with and made you feel like you were part of the family. I highly recommend Ideal Construction for renovation projects if you want the job done the right way!

We worked with Ideal to update our house in Alexandria before we put it on the market. Jason and his team were fast, thorough, and competitively-priced. And our house sold right away, thanks to our sparkling new kitchen!

We selected Ideal Construction to renovate our existing home creating an in-law suite with a bathroom configured to support aging parents. We also expanded up with a second floor addition. They have good crews that work for them or partner well with them on their projects. We never felt that our job was less important than the other jobs they worked on in parallel. With every project something always goes wrong especially with existing homes where surprises never cease behind walls and within ceilings. What we appreciated most was the fact that they were transparent, problem solvers, and attentive to issues needing timely resolution. They are professional, have the knowledge and expertise to help their customers get through the challenges that come with any home improvement project. We highly recommend them.

Our project was almost like building a new house from scratch but harder because it including everything from architectural design, filing all the permits with the county, gutting the house, removing a portion of the house, substantial excavation, and adding on a significant size addition (a new floor and an extension on the back) which also included, another garage, patio and property fence! The team from Ideal was up for the challenging project and were very patient to work with us on every decision as they understood that this project is most importantly our home that my family bought decades ago and we wanted to renovate it to not only meet our needs but to also be fiscally responsible with the investment that we were making. We interviewed many contractors and selected a company that listened to what we wanted, executed accordingly, and treats their clients and workers on the job site with respect.

Every construction project has its hiccups, Zade and Yazan were always willing to go the extra mile to take care of anything that came up. We were under a tight deadline with a baby on the way. They said they could get the second story addition master suite and nursery done in the 4 months we had before baby.
