We have been wanting to do a fairly major Reno to our kitchen, but keeping the feel of our 1940’s house. So we wanted to work with someone who was professional, flexible, and knew what they were doing ( having dealt with some less than professional people in the past, we needed to know we hired the right team). We had several quotes. But upon meeting Devin from Hutchinson, we knew we had found the right contractor. We phoned a few references. All were great. The one that struck me was “ they are as honest as the day is long”. The team at Hutchinson are wonderful. Upon opening walls and ceilings we came across some glitches that old houses generally have. Hutchinson contracting handled them quickly and professionally and even within budget. Every team member seemed to genuinely love their job. They were friendly, helpful, answered all our questions and really seemed to care about the quality of their work. John, the site manager is eager, happy, and so helpful. When a cove in this 75 year old house that I wanted to save became cracked because of removing a post and adding a beam, John said, “ don’t worry, there are no problems, only solutions “. It turned out perfectly. James the project manager was easy to talk to and always responded to emails and calls and worked with us every step of the way (even as we’d change our minds on some things) . We absolutely love the kitchen reno. I am so grateful that we found Hutchinson contracting and highly recommend them. So glad we found them. They are honest, ethical, professional and very easy to work with.

I hired Devin and his crew to redo a suite in our basement late spring 2019. They were great to deal with, quick to respond to changes, there were no delays, excellent finishing work and always kept the site clean. We hired Devin and the Hutchinson group to build us a secondary suite added on to our existing house. We started fall of 2019 and we are just finishing now. It was a large project and we specified lots of things that are out of the ordinary and we encountered more twists and turns than we had anticipated (like blasting, code changes and protected trees to name only a few). Through it all we were grateful to work with such caring and honest people. I had to communicate with Devin A LOT and he is very approachable. All of Devin’s crew are kind, polite, respectful and hardworking. We trusted all of them and couldn’t imagine all the challenges we faced with another group. Lastly, CV19 has thrown all of us for a loop and Devin continues to try to tie up loose ends even though the context has made life difficult for him and everyone else.
