Hoosier Contractors, LLC

We gave Hoosier Contractors a large deposit for a new roof and haven’t heard since, other than a letter from a law firm stating that all contact is to go thru them, that there are financial issues they are trying to resolve. So apparently we were scammed and lost the $$.

After our home was struck by tornado Hoosier Contractors were there immediately and replaced our roof quickly. We were pleased. Then I noticed a spot on living roof ceiling after hard rain near the chimney. I contacted HC and had to leave repeated voicemails then eventually got a call back about a week later. Crew came and work was done, no more leaking, yay! I asked when inside would be repaired and was told to wait until after it rains to make certain no leaks were present. That was over 5 months ago. I have left repeated voicemails and gotten no calls returned. I have no complaints about the roof now but can’t say the same for follow up service on promises made. Cannot recommend unless you’re willing to pay top dollar for poor customer service.

I would run from this company as fast as I could.
They owe us around $40,000 for work we completed for them and they will not pay us nor will they answer our calls anymore.
All of the work was completed correctly and they had 0 complaints but refuse to pay us.

Class Action Lawsuit??? (See end of this paragraph) As many others have already reported, we too are currently having a horrible experience with Hoosier Contractors. Other homeowners in our area are also receiving very poor behavior from this company. We are over 7 months into this process, I wrote them a check 6 months ago after minimal delay for approval from our insurance. They quickly cashed the check.
The initial 2 months were very positive. The last 4+ months have been a major struggle, horrendous. The negligence is all on Hoosier Contractors. Their follow through is awful, absent! They do not answer calls, nor return any calls upon consistent requests, especially since I have demanded my check payment refunded. I have documented records of my phone call attempts with proof of no return calls from them. Seth, the Productions Manager, has never contacted us, even after several promises he would nor upon requests. The only exceptions to this pattern are a few conversations with Anthony and Wes. But their only response is "relaying the information to others overseeing the next phase." Hoosier Contractor managers have not offered any explanation during this delayed process the last 4-5 months. When my call was answered, I was promised to have the work completed three different times. The first promise was from the main office by early September, then by Bryant the end of October. The owner, Josh, himself promised a new roof by the week of Thanksgiving or a full reimbursement, of the check he cashed in early June. We are clearly now being avoided. I am very concerned this is likely a scam. I would discourage anyone from hiring this company. Do not give them any money until the work is done. I would not have done so myself if I knew what I know now. Hoosier Contractors came highly recommended from close friends in our Fort Wayne area, so we did not sense any concerns which we are currently experiencing. We just want our money back as they obviously are not committed to performing the job they committed and have been paid to do. They are outside their contractual statement of "This proposal is valid for 180 days" and well beyond the stated completion of "Hoosier will begin within 45 days after...payment...will complete the Work within 60 days." They have no legal leg to stand on with inclusion of their negligent customer service/relations. The owner states, "I strive to be the best at whatever I am doing. I love helping people. I care about honor, integrity, results, and work ethic. I'm passionate about growth, education, teaching, and mentoring." This is obviously no longer being held as the standard for this company, at least in regards to anything about customer service and his "care" statements.
A Class Action Lawsuit, individually or collectively, against Hoosier Contractors appears to now be required. Others with similar concern are encouraged to, at the very least, file a Consumer Claim with the BBB, and/or the Indiana Attorney General's office, re-elected Todd Rokita. Also involve your State Representative to push the process along. The Attorney General's office likely will form a collective suit if enough of us report Hoosier Contractors.

My 91 year old veteran, life long Hoosier gave them his insurance money 3 months ago to start his roof so he could sell his house. They took his money and now are avoiding all phone calls. Our hands are tied. I have left messages requesting our money back and no response. Left a message at the main office, no response. Called BBB. Will go to small claims court. Would give them - stars if I could. This is sad that you use the name Hoosier Contractor and do this.

My roof was supposed to be put on months ago and now the company isn't returning phone calls.

Update still waiting with no responses from this company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY THEN MAKE EXCUSES!!

Hoosier Contractors: this was a tough one. I wanted to really like this company and I did. They handled the insurance company wonderfully. Their work on our roof is second to none. They used high quality materials and finished what I deemed to be a complex roofing project in about a day. Their cleanup was awesome. No nails, no nothing left behind. My neighbor brought a metal sector over and we didn't find anything like nails, screws, etc. The neighbors were very impress with the speed in which the work was done and they said the final result was beautiful. I'm certain it raised the value of our home.
This is where we get derailed. Their communication is lousy. We had to have our rain gutters replaced and never really heard from them about the plan going forward. One day two people showed up to replace the rain gutters. They did that in about a day. Great work their two. We were a boy taken aback that they showed up out of nowhere. They were supposed to install the gutter guards too, but that didn't happen. I've been calling and calling them with no answers. I have yet to speak to anyone at their customer service department. I went up their chain of command three rungs and no call back. Some of the techs have their voice mail full or disconnected.
BLUF: High quality work and craftsmanship; follow-up and communication is horrific.

I had high hopes working with Hoosier Contractors initially, as things went smoothly until they cashed my check back in June. Since then, I've sent multiple emails and made numerous phone calls, but the response has been non-existent. The only time I heard from them was in early September, when I was told the project should be scheduled within 2-4 weeks. Now, it’s late October, and despite more attempts to contact them, I’ve been completely ignored. I’ve had to file complaints with the BBB and the state attorney general.

Frankly, if I hadn’t seen them complete a roof for my neighbor, I would have thought I’d been scammed. Be very cautious before signing any new contracts with this company!

Have been waiting months for my roof to be put on, as have a couple of my neighbors. They have already been given money from my insurance company. They called me multiple times a day to pickup the check, but now I can't even get a return call. Do not work with them!

Don’t use these people if you want to try to talk to someone. The insurance company owes me money all I hear is I’m trying it’s been 4 months since this has happened. They called me trying to tell me I owed them money 2800 to be exact then the guys I was talking to got so rude the manager Bryant called back said we owe you $780 now it’s been 4 months highly do not recommend they also didn’t care when I called back and told them I had tons of nails in my downspouts they didn’t care at all.

Our salesman, Austin, was amazing. His inner support staff is the worst. Our neighbor, who we reffered was treated excellent, his roof went perfectly, no issues. Ours went horrible. From the contractor calling & sending a letter threatening to put a lien on my house because they werent getting paid, to our roof taking weeks to finish with many flaws. austin agreed it was unacceptable. A recent rep agreed it was unacceptable, and was going to help us, but after a phone call from his boss, he said he cant do anything, after 2 reps bringing it to their uppers the issues unacceptable..they refuse to make it right. I also have yet to receive the 2 referral checks we were told we would get. Their last rep blamed the crew they hired on my roof issues. Here's a thought, dont hire a crew of illegals from guatemala if you arent going to stand behind their work!!! Def wont refer them to anyone else. My other neighbor i referred has paid them the initial check & has yet to hear back from them. My next letter will be to the BBB & attorney general of consumer affairs. I will not recommend them to anyone. I am not one to give reviews like this & have put it off giving them the chance to make it right, but 2 months later & nothing, and no return calls or text messages. It was time.

After storm damage in the spring of 2023 and a nearly 8 month battle with insurance, our new roof looks great! The workers did a great job. The only reason this is not a five star review is because of a few communication issues, especially in the beginning of the process when our case was handed off to a few different representatives. Once we were partnered with Michael, things improved. Michael was patient, understanding, and helpful as we navigated the insurance process. He went above and beyond to get additional photos of the damage for the insurance company. Always available via text or call, Michael even checked in during and after the roof install to make sure everything went well and that we were satisfied. We would recommend Hoosier Contractors, and especially Michael.

Alright alright alright, I NEED to post this because of how excellent the experience was with this company. Michael Norton is the man to call, he's incredibly helpful, attentive, knowledgeable, friendly and funny. The others who helped me were also fantastic, the process was simple and easy, everyone I talked to was straightforward and helpful, this company knows how to not only treat someone right but do the job perfectly. If I can give 10/5 stars I would.

Hoosier contractors where great to work with, David helped us work through the process. From explaining how the process would work with insurance, being there for the inspection, working with the insurance company, and any questions we had during the installation. They where all very friendly and helpful.

We were very pleased with the Field Consultant David Ard -- He was the reason we permitted him to inspect our roof. We already had 2 layers on the roof, so the crew had to strip it all and then lay the shingles. That crew did a good job. As we viewed the completed job we had a question or two. David answered any concerns we had. He inspected the roof and was satisfied, so his knowledge certainly exceeded ours so we were satisfied too.

I had a great experience working with Hoosier Contractors to get a roof replaced after hail damage. Michael Norton was wonderful to work with and made the process with my insurance company seamless. He really shepherded the process from start to finish and made it easy when I had a lot of other things going on at that time. He and Tyler both were professional, flexible, and kind, and I would recommend them.

Update…they have sent me the info I was requesting and reassured me that my roof is exactly like it should be…told me my shingle will lay flat after time and it is covered by my warranty. Thank you to Shane and Craig for taking care of my issues.

They were great, roof was great, until I paid my remaining balance then they never talk to you again. They asked me for a review and I explained to them via email, FB, and in person (someone was next door working on a roof for my neighbor) that I purchased an extended warranty and have never received any paperwork on it, and that we have one shingle that needs to be repaired, not one person has gotten back with me nor reached out or tried to fix my issues. They seem to do great work, but there service after the sale leaves a lot to be desired.

Had Micheal Norton as my main point of contact and he was extremely helpful. Helped me through the process with insurance to fix my roof from hail and wind damage. Would use again and would definitely recommend!

To say it was a process to get a new roof approved through our insurance company would be a gross understatement. However, the entire Hoosier Contractors team worked to get it done! And we couldn’t be happier with our roof! The installers worked efficiently and did an awesome job at cleaning up!

I was very very pleased with Hoosier Contractors. David Ard was very instrumental on getting my insurance to approve a new roof !! Without his expertise this wouldn't have happened. Hoosier Contractors did a excellent job putting on our new roof , David did everything he said he would helping us file the claim he answered every phone call and treated us with the upmost respect I would highly recommend this company.

They did a terrible job installing new siding from hail damage. It was so bad, we got more water damage from their work and poor installation. We did not hire them, they did work for previous owners. When I contacted them to claim damage, they said “warranty is not transferable on sale”. Which is a lie because I have they said it’s good for one home owner sale/transfer. They did a terrible job and will not take responsibility for their work. Avoid at all costs.

David David David what can be said about this fine young man he showed up and gave us a world class experience. We had a hail storm and didn't know we even had damage he gave us a cost free inspection and even helped us file the claim. Our insurance denied us initially but David assured us that we were not out of options he took care of everything and now we are fully covered and would highly recommend thank you David this would not have been possible without you.

David Ard did us a great service. If it were not for him we wouldn't have known about are hail damaged roof, siding and gutters. He is a friendly, considerate and helpful person. You don't come across
people like him very often at all.

Hoosier Contractors just finished installing our new roof. They did an excellent job and cleaned up when they were done. It all started with David who went to bat for us with the insurance company. He really cares about his customers. I recommend this company.

They will act like they care about you then once they get your money they will cut all communication and won't respond. We got a new roof and have a few issues they said they would fix and the person we were working with won't respond. It has been almost been 2 months now and no one will get back with us. It is super frustrating as we could have gone with a ton of other roofers.

They did an excellent job on our new roof, skylights and painted our gutters and trim. The best part was that they worked with our insurance company on our behalf. A couple things needed to be reworked, and they were very willing and responsive to make it right which says a lot about their character and how they value the customer experience. I would use them again 100%.

Update 2-20-24: At this point lost cause with this company and fixed all their mistakes myself now! Please be careful and really consider if you want to have this company do work for you. I will never use them again and will never recommend them!

Update 5-23-2023: I have now reach back out to them and keep getting my phone call transfered to an employee that is supposed to help me and they also send him an email. Everytime I get his voice mail and never receive a phone call or email back. Will be reaching out to his supervisor next and hopefully might have better luck getting this issue resolved.

Unfortunately I didn't have the greatest experience with this company. They helped me with an insurance claim to get our roof replaced along with interior damage repaired due to a roof leak. They were great with the roof and dealing with my insurance claim and the roof turned out great from what I can tell but the interior repairs were lacking serious quality. They just did a sloppy patch repair in my bathroom and then another ceiling where it had gotten wet and started to mold they "fixed." I asked if they needed to replace anything above the ceiling due to the water damage and they assured me their guys will look into it all and if there is additional work that needs done then they will let them know. Well they never replaced anything above the ceiling like insulation or anything and just painted over the mold. After a month or 2 after the repairs were "done" the mold came back 10x as bad and when I told them about it one of their employees ghosted me after I did everything he asked me to do and the next person I dealt with was quick to push it off and stopped helping me and and has never checked back in with me to see if the problem ever got fixed which is has not. Unfortunately I will never use them again or refer them to anyone.

Very happy with the work done by Hoosier Contractors to replace our roof. Everyone was very helpful and responsive from beginning to end. The work was done on time, met all of our requests, and cleaned up thoroughly after the job was done. Highly recommend!

Handled 100% of everything for my insurance claim. They did exactly what they said they were going to do when they were going to do it. Quality installation, handled any issue that came up immediately. Highly recommend!

Hoosier Contractors were persistent in getting our home insurance company to pay for damages from two different hailstorms. We've been trying for almost a year to get our roof replaced after our three neighbors had their roofs replaced, but our insurance company kept refusing.
What a very professional company, the entire Hoosier Contractor's team were here for us and they did an outstanding job. The job was completed in a day, and we had two layers of shingles that had to be removed. Also, we have an inground pool, the crew even covered it along with all of our plants and shrubs. Following the job, we looked around and they had everything cleaned up and we couldn't find anything damaged.....totally excellent work, we highly recommend Hoosier Contractors for any roofing issues.

They were very responsive and professional from the beginning. They worked diligently to get my insurance claim processed and move things along. Everyone was friendly and did their job well. I would highly recommend them to neighbors, family and friends.

Hoosier Contractors is a very professional company that seems to have a great staff of people working for them. Challenging in today's market with all the supply chain issue but Hoosier has been able to navigate through the covid and post covid world. They have been very responsive as well to handle any changes or issues that have come up. Very professional company

I had Hoosier Contractors come out and give me a second opinion on my roof. I had another contractor tell me that my roof was destroyed. They came out and showed me pictures of my entire roof and said that the damage was all things that could be fixed by a handyman. Saved me 14 grand that I would’ve wasted on a new roof I didn’t need.

I called to schedule a roof inspection from storm damage. Jared was very communicative and responsive. He even worked with me and came out when the insurance inspector came to do their inspection. Timber was also very prompt and followed up with me asking if I was being attended to by Jared. Great team and once my insurance company approves repair I look forward to having this company do the work. If their follow up and professionalism is any indication of the quality of work they do I know that I will be happy with the final product.

I haven't used the service they provide as of yet but, have heard great things about this company from friends and co-workers!!!

Hoosier Contractors recently replaced our roof, gutters, and downspouts due to hail damage and they did a fantastic job. We are very happy with the results. From start to finish, the process was painless.

They were on time and completed the work in one day. The area around the house was cleaned up and extra materials were removed. I highly recommend this company and would use them again.

Their estimate came back approved as quoted, and they walked me through the insurance claims process. When any issue arose, they were responsive in correcting it. Five stars!

Recently had a very good experience with Hoosier Contractors. They came out and inspected our roof for hail damage and found that the roof needed to be replaced. They really did do everything. They worked with my home insurance provider and got everything set up and approved. They were very flexible when it came to scheduling installation. Aaron Dragoo had a team in and out in 2 days flat. They tore everything down and installed all new shingles, gutters, and downspouts in just 2 days. I'm very impressed with their work and found myself hoping for rain for the first time in my life just to "test" out my new gutter system.

I wish I could give 0 stars because of the dreadful service. I wonder how they are still in business with such poor quality work. Attached are photos of this poor quality. Fortunately I was home and got on a ladder to observe and noticed their shoddy work. The crew was in the process of roofing over this obvious portion of roof that they didn't even bother to put a drip edge on. I stopped them and made them remove the shingles and correct their poor craftsmanship. Who knows what else I may have missed being I did not go on the roof.
I went with Hoosier because of all the promises made up front. After the job was complete the promises disappeared as quickly as the roofers. I am also questioning being charged for upgrades and Hoosier will not provide any documentation to substantiate that upgrades were actually done. I also contracted them to repair the damage from a roof leak. After they get the high margin on the roof they tell me "oh, we cannot do the bathroom because insurance isn't paying enough." They knew that from the beginning and continued to assure me the work was going to get done. They conveniently wait until the roof is done to tell me they can no longer do the "lower margin" job.
I mean, who does this. I'll tell you, a shoddy contractor named Hoosier. Take my advice and run if you see a Hoosier salesperson - you will thank yourself many times over.
