REVIEW FOR DEC 2024 JOB: (Five Stars)
Steve (assisted by Jason) installed an EcoFlow Smart Home Panel (SHP) that works with two Delta Pro battery generators to provide automatic backup power for our home.
I had a hard time finding an electrician who was comfortable working with this advanced technology. There are many stories of difficulties and unsuccessful installations out there. You need someone with, not just years of experience, but the right kinds of experience and the right mind set. Steve has worked with solar and wind generators, and he LIKES challenges!
Some issues did crop up during the installation, but Steve quickly worked them out (no calls to EcoFlow tech support, which can be helpful, but you may wait two days to hear back from them). Very impressive.
Some guys just do what they’re going to do and ignore customer concerns. Steve LISTENED to all my concerns, and addressed every one of them. He cares. It was a pleasure to work with him.
Two months have gone by, and I no longer fear winter storms. What a relief. No need to store gasoline or propane (which become unavailable in the midst of large scale outages) or set up one of those noisy outdoor generators (that walk away in the midst of large scale outages). Thank you, HoneyDoMen, for sending Steve. And thank you, Steve, for a job well done.
REVIEW FOR AUG 2024 JOB: (Five Stars)
Darrell got everything off the right start. I attributed the leak over the back porch to the roof. Darrell identified a more likely source of the leak. Good call.
Fascia on another part of the house was rotting and also in need of repair. The carpentry part of the job was not easy, as it involved some historic moulding, the equivalent of crown moulding on the exterior. Hendren was in charge of the work. He did really good work, my husband even commented on how good it looked. On top of replacing the rotted wood, Hendren looked for the source of the problem. He identified some loose flashing, pointed it out to me, and sealed it. Later on, in the process of painting, he found the real source of the leak: a hidden hole in a corner that lacked flashing. Again, he pointed it out to me, sealed it with caulk, and painted over it. Hendren took before and after photos so I could see the problem (impossible to see from the ground), and shared them with me. Very much appreciated.
Something else happened that impressed me. Hendren was going to come on Saturday to finish the painting, but when he noticed it was drizzling, he stopped and called me. He described the weather and said, “would you be comfortable with me coming today to do the work?” Most guys would just come and paint until it actually starts raining (resulting in a poor quality paint job). I said I was not comfortable with the weather situation, thanked him for talking to me in that way, and said how impressed I was. He responded: “We are HoneyDoMen. We do it right!” He really meant it. An experience like this builds trust, and trust makes it easier to put the next job in the hands of the HoneyDoMen. Thank you one and all, job well done.
