I had Jake and his team take care of a number of home improvements for me both on the outside of the house (vinyl wrap of eaves and soffits, tuckpointing chimney mortar, re-caulking windows, and small roof repairs) as well as interior projects including a kitchen remodel, and 3 master bathrooms. Not only did Jake make sure everything was handled professionally and according to building codes, of which he is very knowledgeable, but his team respected my home, didn’t play loud music, or eat food inside the house. While I had specific design elements in mind, Jake has good taste in choosing tile and fixtures that complemented my vision, which I thought unusual in a contractor. In addition, months after the project was completed a few minor things popped up, but Jake came out the same day and cheerfully fixed everything without making me feel like a nuisance, which I greatly appreciated. Jake has integrity like no other contractor I’ve worked with. He takes his workmanship-reputation seriously. He is also a dedicated Christian and family man. I have hired Jake for a few very different jobs ranging from staining a fence, to putting down trex on an existing deck, to fixing a water leak. Great experiences across the board.

1. He knows his stuff. A LOT of thought goes into the options and the BEST way to do something.
2. Attention to detail. Something a lot lack, he has more than enough to make up for it. He cares, it shows.
3. Responsive & Communicative. Never had to worry if they were coming, when they were coming, what the plan was, etc. He always was proactive with that to me daily.
4. Follow up. Across 4 jobs so far, I had one minor issue a month later on one job that needed his attention. When I reached out, he called me back within the hour and was out to fix it within 2 days. Issues happen, how someone stands behind their work is what matters most to me.

*UPDATE* I had him back out to fix a SMALL issue with a few step treads that were lifting due to some damaged wood in the stringers. In the process, he found a larger issue with the original stringers from the prior deck build (he did not install these). At his own expense, he decided to replace them all for quality, appearance and safety. Above and beyond, and a great example of why I hire him even if he is not the "lowest bid".

We had two properties needing multiple items addressed in a relatively short amount of time. Jake and his team had the knowledge, skills and commitment to complete everything (i.e., windows, doors, walls, baths, crawlspaces, roofs, etc.). His team worked long hours to stay on schedule and produce quality results. Jake kept us well informed with progress updates and repair information throughout the process. They also identified and addressed additional items that weren't specifically noted in the contract. The project wasn't cheap but Jake followed through on his commitment to us. As a result, we've continued to work with Jake and his team and intend to do so in the future.

We had two projects: 1)removal of a 100+ foot tree that was blown down from a storm; and 2)remodel of our front porch involved removal of old porch railings and post, replaced with two beautiful cedar posts. I took on 3 projects with Jake. Fence staining, house trim painting, and front driveway & back patio staining. After a beautiful job on the fence the Covid19 lockdown hit. Jake ended up with his family out of state but kept in touch with updates regularly. So I felt confident that every thing would be completed when possible. He was able to return an resume exactly as planned. I admired that! It now seemed that he was even more determined to out do himself since being kept away for so long. Well he did! He went above and beyond on the remaining projects. The house was trimmed with precision and the front and back concrete, that I knew would be a challenge, now add the curb appeal I wanted to what was an eyesore!

Enjoyed working with Jake. Good customer relation skills. Good attention to detail and very conscientious. Jake has thorough knowledge of products, equipment, and techniques to accomplish his tasks. Jake cleaned our roof, cleaned and sealed our pool deck and outdoor living area, and pavers. Also cleaned and repainted our fence, inside and out. He did a good job. So together a young Army Ranger, and an old Marine can complete a mission.

After contacting 5 different pros to stain and seal our new concrete patio, Jake was not only the first to respond, but was extremely thorough and helpful in answering my questions. He came over right away and gave me a very reasonable bid to do the work, explaining exactly why his products and processes were superior to other competitors. He carefully and thoroughly cleaned, stained, and sealed our patio using the color chosen by my wife. To be clear, Jake laid down a number of layers of stain and sealer so the patio will be good to go for years. Our Community Dock Association recently contracted with Jake Izard, owner of Concepts by Jake LLC to pressure wash and paint our community boat dock. The dock consists of a bridge, main dock area and 30 individual boat slips encompassing approximately 6000’ square feet. We were very satisfied with the final outcome in terms of the excellent job done and the positive interactions we had with Jake. I have received many positive comments on what a good job he did and how nice the dock looks.

Jake is an excellent communicator, both in terms of job status and progress and in terms of “paint science”. His bid was thorough, complete and a clear explanation of the work proposed. He kept in contact to let us know the status of the project at all times and was always available to answer questions. He is knowledgeable and very good at explaining various aspects of paint/stain application and other procedures involved in the painting process. The project went exactly as he said it would, without delays (except for the rain) and with 100% follow-through on everything that was promised. He was very helpful with decision-making, and made well-informed and helpful suggestions.

Jake uses high quality materials, he is tidy and leaves the site as clean as possible during the work-in-progress stage, and gets the job done without continually adding to the bill for every minor detail.
