My girlfriend and I had an absolutely horrible experience purchasing a vehicle here and we will be warning people of this place for the rest of our lives. We purchased a 2018 highlander from them and were told that it only needed a catalytic converter but shortly after purchasing it we found that it had multiple codes for a misfire and the engine was making a knocking noise. We found stated on the website that ALL vehicles come with a 50/50 parts labor warranty called the "Herlong Promise". We were even willing to pay half for a new engine to be put in the car even though it was broken 1 day after purchasing and they told us they had no idea what that policy was and that they werent willing to honor the policy online. The only thing we could do was exchange the vehicle for something else on their lot. To make matters worse they were rude to us during the whole process and they wouldnt negotiate on the car we traded it for at all and we had to get our credit union to demand a signed buyers order from them because we called 4 or 5 times and our sales lady Tabatha could not be bothered to help us each time. They also told us the 2018 black highlander with 226k miles will be going back on their lot to sell, so if you feel like spending 14700 dollars for a vehicle with a bad motor its right there for ya!

I have bought vehicles from Herlong including most of my family and friends for years and always had a good experience until now. I bought a 2021 2500 duramax as a "Certified pre-owned vehicle". I have barely put 18,000 miles on the truck and the brakes are shot on the front. When I purchased the truck the brake life read 100 percent. I called Herlong to inquire and was sent thru the channels to only talk to the girl at the front desk and Lacy in the service department to relay messages to me. I was not allowed to speak to the management nor the owner I assume because it wasnt worth their time. So, long story short I will no longer be doing business with Herlong.

Awesome experience. I talked to Lance on the phone previous to purchase. Great personality and gave me the confidence to buy sight unseen. We drove the 3 hours to pick up. When we got there, our Suburban was detailed and had a full tank of gas. We were in and out in 10 minutes. Great buying experience and great deal. Happy to drive the 3 hours again for our next purchase.

I bought a truck there Saturday. Kevin Levels was the salesman. He is a good dude to work with. He is very professional, not pushy at all, very informative, and he will do whatever he can to get you into the vehicle you want. The next time I buy a new truck will most definitely be from Kevin. Thanks Herlong Chevrolet. 06/22/2025...Update .. the financing girl really stuck it to me. I told her when I bought the truck I wanted her to check rates with AllSouth federal credit Union. She said she did but that first citizens Bank had a better rate. So I trusted her.... Big mistake.... A few weeks l after She got me financed thru first citizens Bank I called AllSouth federal credit union. Their rate was 5.5 percent versus 7.5 percent from her recommendation... But I guess that's how these financing people do... She couldn't just do her job. She had to go above and beyond and lie to me so she could get a bigger commission or bonus. Shame on you girl. It's no wonder why her husband left her. She is very dishonest

My experience with Herlong Chevrolet was great!! i live over 2 hours from this dealership, so Tabitha, in sales, was kind enough to send me pictures and a video of the vehicle, so I actually bought it before looking at it in person. The radio had to be repaired which was no cost to me. Travis in the service department was outstanding with getting my radio fixed. I had to leave the vehicle there to get fixed and Travis arranged to get me a nice loaner car and also had someone meet me halfway to get my car back when the repair was completed.
I couldn't have asked for any nicer staff!! I highly recommend Herlong Chevrolet!

I purchased my used 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan, on January 6, 2025.
It was a good experience and a fair deal. The car appeared to be in great condition and everything was great.
“I got a message a few days later on the dash saying the “12V Battery is drained Infotainment system turning off.” In the dark when I opened the door the interior lights did not work! In addition, the start/stop function is not functioning!
I began the very long process of getting through to my sales person.
There were several calls and texts before I got an appointment which was not until February 24th because service was so backed up! I mentioned that I live an hour + from the dealership and do not have another car so I can’t just leave it there. Tabitha told me I would get a loaner. When I arrived there, they did not have a loaner ready for me to drive away in. They needed to scramble and get the sales department to loan me a car. That took up way much of my precious time.
I was sent a text message from the service manager Travis saying I could text anytime for updates.
I had texted that number several times throughout the 3 weeks that my car was at the service department and was never answered. In addition, I called to speak with Travis several times and left a messages and my calls were not returned. Jay from service, finally returned my call after a week of my car being there and said they were, “working on it on and off”.
I tried inquiring about the status of my car after not hearing anything for another week. I did not learn anything. Jay called me THREE weeks later and said they were finished with my car and cannot repeat the problem. He told me “they did a lot of things” and do not have the appropriate software to work on it. I asked, what am I supposed to do? Why didn’t you go to Volkswagen? My car is not fixed and you want me to come and get it like that? It was like that before I drove it off the lot when I bought it. He told me to talk to the sales manager. Alan was another person that was hard to contact and receive a call back from. I finally heard back from him and I explained what was happening. I also told him this is Herlong’s second chance from me because we tried buying a car that was supposed to be serviced before we picked it up. They took too long and never answered me and I never bought that car. Also, I told him I rely on that car because I am a caregiver and I need to get my chronically ill family member where he needs to go. He told me he will find out what happened with my VW in service and call me back. All he could offer me was basically the same thing that Jay said and someone to deliver my car to my house and pick up theirs.
The next day I got the message on my dashboard. “12V battery drained, infotainment system turning off”.
Following that, I finally spoke with Alan again and he said I would need to go to Volkswagen and pay my own bill!
After researching the problem myself, I found out that the battery needs to be reset when it is changed in the car because the car will not recognize that it was changed. (I think the previous owner had changed it) I still think that Herlong needs to pay me the $180 I spent at Volkswagen service to have my battery reset.
The communication there is awful. There really is not any. It’s like a one way street. I spent so much time calling there and leaving messages.
Don’t buy a car there or go to that dealership for service.

I took my Chevy truck to them for repairs and it took 9 months to get it back. The truck still requires more repairs. I bought another truck from them 9 months ago. That truck left me stranded a week later… not covered under the warranty they sold me that allegedly covered everything. Took 6 weeks to get that back…. It’s a gas truck but was assigned to the diesel mechanic. The same problem occurred again a month later. I ordered the part myself… turned out to be a 10 minute fix. I was charged $800. Paid full price to get a broken truck back…$5500. Had to purchase a battery to get the first truck back that went dead while it sat in Herlongs lot. I’ve met 2 other people since then with similar experiences… being without a vehicle or 6 months or more. I was told by the service department that a truck with a similar issue to mine came in and they were able to figure out what to do. Gross incompetence bordering on outright fraud.

Tabatha at Herlong Chevrolet made out experience of purchasing a vehicle quick and easy. We had not been looking for a vehicle as the one I had was everything I needed, and better than that paid for. Unfortunately, someone rear ended me and my car was totaled. I probably was not in the best frame of mind to have to buy another car, but Tabatha was very understanding, took her time with us and helped find something that met all our needs. I would definitely recommend them for the purchase of a new or used vehicle.

They always take good care when servicing my vehicles but for some odd reason they didn’t check the air pressure when rotating them. All four were rather low which was disappointing since I had to do it before heading to work. Otherwise I’m satisfied with them

I live in Tennessee I purchased a 2019 Chevrolet truck on August 19 2024 from Herlong Chevrolet in Batesville-Leesville South Carolina included in the purchase was a 36 month 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. Brooke the finance manager represented it as the same as a new car warranty. As far as the warranty was concerned my truck had 0 miles. All the documents was to be done on an IPad i noticed the IPad said North Carolina when I questioned it Brooke had entered the wrong state Brooke said it would be no problem. Brooke changed it to Tennessee but I would need to sign hard copies that we couldn't use the IPad. I questioned it twice while I was signing the paperwork if the sales tax the registration title fees were correct. Brooke assured me both times she had the current Tennessee laws in the paperwork. When I got the call on September 11 2024 from the Roane County Courthouse that my tag was ready there was a balance owed of $372.84. I called Brooke who then sent me to Alan the sales manager who told me Barbara was who handled tags for the dealership i waiting several days before calling Barbara she told me neither Brooke or Alan had told her to check anything I was who informed her of the problem a few days later I got a call from a woman who informed me Barbara no longer worked there she was taking it over. As of writing this on October 11 2024 no one will return my calls what I'm trying to find out is did Brooke make a mistake in calculating the fees or did Barbara make a mistake writing out the check. In my opinion the dealership as a whole lacks integrity they do not do what they say they will do and will not return calls as promised. I will be writing another review on Alan there was another problem with the truck that he handled in the same way

6/26 I began shopping for a vehicle and ended up with salesperson Kaitlyn Hallman. I decided on a 2020 Blazer and took the vehicle for a 24 HR test drive where I noticed a lag in acceleration and the check engine light illuminated. I reported my concerns to Kaitlyn who arranged a diagnostic test. It was determined that the issue was an O2 sensor, which conveniently was on back order. I signed paperwork with an agreement and understanding the issue would be resolved. Throughout July/ early August attempts were made to follow up but no response was received. 8/6 I contacted the service department and on 8/7 I received a voicemail from Gina scheduling the O2 sensor replacement for 8/21. After the replacement I still experienced the same issues and was told to give it some time (50-100 miles) I contacted the service department on 8/26 and took the car for diagnostic testing where no codes were shown. On 9/5 I reached out and was told only Travis was available in the service department, and he would return my call later on. That same day, I reached out to another Chevrolet dealer to arrange a diagnostic test. I dropped off the vehicle on 9/11, and on 9/16, I was notified that it required a new transmission. Later that day, I contacted Herlong requesting to speak with the owner and was directed to the manager, Alan Hatcher, who advised us to file a claim with the extended warranty. After multiple attempts to resolve the ongoing problems, including an O2 sensor replacement that did not fix the issues, I was ultimately informed that the car needed a new transmission. I believe it's unfair that I'm being asked to file a claim with the extended warranty.I am dissatisfied with my service due to a lack of communication and unresolved issues with my vehicle. After the vehicle purchase I reported concerns and expected the dealership to take responsibility. Despite assurances from the salesperson that these issues would be addressed, my inquiries often went unanswered.

Kaitlin and the extended sales/finance team were great. I called ahead and let Kaitlin know I was driving up from Charleston and was on my way. I pulled in and the truck I was interested in was parked right out front waiting for me. Kaitlin promptly greeted me and introduced herself and provided me with keys for a test drive. I decided the purchase the truck and the rest of the process was simple and easy. The F&I advisor walked through the paperwork with me and there was no hard sell on packages I didn't need. Wow!! I am blown away by the professionalism, customer service, honesty, and efficiency of this dealership. After my car was totaled in an accident, I have been searching for weeks for a new vehicle. I have spoken with/visited many dealerships and felt dissatisfied and taken advantage of with each of them. I was beyond frustrated when I found a Buick Enclave in excellent condition at Herlong Chevy.

I live almost 3 hours away from Batesburg-Leesville, SC so when I reached out I made it very clear that I did not want to make the drive to see the vehicle unless I was confident I would be driving away with it.

Alec was the lucky salesman who answered my call. He was out of this word fantastic. He immediately made me feel confident and answered every one of the hundred questions I sent him. He went through the car IN DETAIL for me, sending me pictures of every little thing. When I finally made the drive to see the car it was EXACTLY as Alec had presented. It drove like a dream, was immaculately detailed, and was very fairly priced. I could tell this dealership takes a lot of pride in what they have to offer the public. I was sold.

There was a little repair that needed to be done on the vehicle. It was (understandably) unknown to Herlong, but the sales Manager Alan jumped right on it and told me that if I wanted the vehicle they would make the repair and deliver it to me (almost 3 hours away!).

A few days later, Alec himself drove the Buick to me. I am more than please with my experience here. I don't think anyone could provide better customer service. Great job guys!!

Well im here to say one thing .I have never been to a Dealership like this one in my life.
I may not do business cause it's all about price these day ..Especially on a retired status ( Golden Years )Thats a joke .But I seen a truck that I am .interested in buying .So I called and a young lady ( Tabatha ) just so picked up the phone.And It was pouring down rain and she was willing to get her butt out in the down pour to get the truck available for me to look at.

.Told her no I would be back the next day..She said she would have the truck ready.

Damn if she didnt.But at 67 years of age I have never dealt with a dealership like this before.
Went in the next day and she gave me the key and said go drive it.No pressure from anyone at this Dealership.!!!Around Columbia I have stopped going to lots during the business hours
.Cause the sales reps are like damn vultures .Running out to greet you like a kid running after a ice cream truck..So I started shopping at nights .(Not here ).These folks were laid back ..And you know when you go to buy a car and get down to the numbers game.? !!The way a sales rep will say ok hold on let me go check with him .(Well who is him ?)Do they keep whomever him is in a box or in a padded room.?.God I hate that.

Well these folks are totally different ,I got to meet the man that the sales rep goes back and forth numerous times to get a simple question answered.

Great Guy had a beard and I could look this man in the eye and just felt comfortable. Sorry I forgot his name .Hell I was shocked to see him loose in the show room .I looked at him to make sure he hadn't been beaten for giving people a fair shake .No marks on his back looked healthy to me.HaHa

.These folks are so far the best I have ever dealt with .I had a emergency came up.And had to leave the state .So I'm sure they will sell the vehicle I was interested in. But I don't care it's not thier fault. But I promise yall I will continue to deal with this dealership.And I will tell my friends and family about this pleasant moment at a car dealership.

Great service! I didn't know that the dealership offered a shuttle option. I was able to drop my vehicle off with an appointment and get a shuttle back to work. There was also an option to pick me up from work. They kept me informed about the other maintenance services and were very professional.

DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM HERE!!! My grandfather just bought a 2019 huyandai Tuscon from here. A few days after he got it it would make loud noises coming from under the back passenger seat(electrical issue). Then a few weeks after that he was going down the interstate when the engine light came on, then the engine got jumpy and didnt hold the correct power and speed. It was a cylinder 1 misfire, now he went back to the dealership, charged him 160$ for the code read(cars under warranty) drove it around for 27 miles just to tell him there's nothing wrong with it and cleared the code. I can't wait for it to pop back up, because I will be going to the dealership with him to prove back to them that I know they scammed an elderly man. Shame on you guys and if you are going to purchase a vehicle from here BE CAREFUL!!!

Poor communication ...Multiple attempts to talk to someone or tech in service dept ..Returned calls to service dept to be told they would call back but failed to do so..This was for a repair on the a/c system Also when truck was purchased was given a free oil change that was to be put into computer system but seems that never took place

Everyone at the dealership was amazing, a down right pleasant group of people as a whole. Heather was my sales person and she was more than I could have asked for. She answered every question I had and made sure I was good with everything that went on during the buying process. I will be returning to them in the future and I will be suggesting them to any of my friends looking to buy a vehicle.

Update:
Just bought my second car from Herlong after my wife's car died. Tabatha helped us and was extremely friendly and didn't leave us feeling pressured at all unlike some dealerships. Pricing was fair and didn't have any hidden costs which is a huge thing to me. Oddly enough it's the second Ford I've bought from a Chevy dealership but maybe next time they'll get me in one of their trucks since I'll definitely be going back. Just wish I could leave them a second 5 star review.

We went to just look at a new 2025 HD trail boss truck and was greeted by Tabitha, and he was great to work with. She got us the fob and allowed us to test drive while he had an appraisal of our trade. There was no pressure put on us to buy that day. I would highly recommend Tabitha for your salesperson. Home is where the heart is may be a understatement This is the 3rd vehicle in over 20 years I've purchased from Herlong Chevrolet That says a lot for customer service and quality of vehicle they're selling. The only thing that's changed is the address when it comes to customer service. I had the pleasure of working with Tabitha this time and she knocked it out of the park. She was very professional, patient, informative and down to earth. It was also great and a pleasure to work with Brooke as well . Only thing that's changed was her title and office LOL. Great family and best place to purchase your next vehicle
