HER Roofing

HER was a last minute addition to the list of roofing companies that I requested an estimate to replace our roof. They came out quickly and were very informative. Although they were not the lowest price that we were quoted (they were also not the highest) their estimate was very detailed and specific and it listed out all materials and quantities leaving very little unknown. This gave us the most comfort when paying for such an expensive home repair. From our perspective, the only thing in question that could change the estimate is what they would find when they ripped the old roof off because they have no visibility into what was under there. They got us on the schedule fast and were great at communicating if there were any changes. They also got the job done in 2 days and did a very good job cleaning up both days.

From start to finish, HER Roofing made it so easy. Preston was great during the initial consultation. Explained the entire process and what to expect. Both Jana (owner) and Jazmine (front office) were amazing at communication. They were great at getting back to me quickly with any of my questions. The crew were really friendly, worked quickly, and were incredibly thorough in their cleanup, both during the demo and the final stage. Amazing company!

They did not diagnose my leak correctly and I wasted 3k on replacing a window that was only 3 years old and some pipe Jack's. During the next rain, it leaked in the same spots. They tried to say they fixed some of the problem, but the skylight wasn't the issue. Now I have to cough up more money that could have went to the actual leak.

HER roofing was a great experience. Preston was awesome in detailing every part of the process and was very knowledgeable on the subject. They were in and out in 48 hours and were able to schedule me right away! The crew left the project in a very clean manner - no debris anywhere! Highly recommend this company for any roofing needs.

HER Roofing was a great company to work with. Lauren was thorough in her explanation of what to expect, and the roofing team was prompt and FAST, but also conscientious. They cleaned up at the end of each day and after the job was finished, they did a thorough inspection. I would most certainly recommend this company!

Preston (seller) is a wealth of information, always responsive, and full of positive energy. I really appreciated how much HER was in contact throughout the project, from the office staff to the PM and beyond. Expectations were clearly set, and ultimately delivered on.

I'll preface this part with the admission that I don't know what's "normal" -- this being my first roof replacement. But there were a few problem areas that required callbacks to fix: a low spot where the crew decked over my removed-chimney, some rotten barge boards that weren't replaced (meaning T metal and shingle needed ripped up and then redone), and a fascia board that needed re-replaced with a custom cut size. The HER team made everything right at no extra charge to me, but it's worth noting that had I not noticed and asked, the corrections wouldn't have been made.

On the flip side, they were the only ones willing to go outside the usual job scope to enable a little side project at the same time. They've really gone above and beyond in this regard -- overall, customer service has been stellar!

I don't hear many people say that they were happy with their roofers, so HER Roofing really stands out. From beginning to end, I was impressed with their work. The salesperson explained every detail clearly and supported her recommendations with video documentation from my roof. They install all products according to the manufacturers specifications, which means that they are not the cheapest option. But I've seen the damage caused by cutting corners, so I know that this does not save money in the long run! Of course we encountered unexpected challenges along the way, and I was grateful for the clear communication and problem solving. Roofing is noisy and dirty work, and the crew worked l-o-n-g days, almost 12 hours. Even so, they took the time to leave my yard *spotless* at the end of every single day. (They use magnets to pick up fallen nails!) This meant that it was safe for my dog to use the yard in the evenings, which made my life a lot easier. All around, top notch work.

We hired HER Roofing to install a new roof and gutters on our 1909 fixer home in NE Portland. The crews were friendly, work was completed on time, the work was impeccable and they did a good job with clean up. My only gripe is that the final cost was 1/3 more than initial estimate. Not a huge surprise considering the state of the fascia but disappointing none the less.

It was refreshing working with Jana on a tear off and re roofing on my property. She showed up when she said she would. She got her bid to me promptly. It was very detailed and professional. Jana is a good communicator and was willing and able to answer my questions in a way that explained the scope of the job based on what we were dealing with. She and her crew were quick, professional, respectful, and kept the job site clean and organized. They were done quickly, and made sure the job site was clean when they left. I would highly recommend HER Roofing for anything to do with roofing. A contractor with so much knowledge and a good work ethic is hard to find!

The work was done solidly. HER roofing worked with us on a complex porch roof repair and it ended up a solid build that can last another 100 years.

One of my favorite details about HER roofing is the amount of detail in the estimate that they presented me with. The total was broken down to include each piece of flashing, each box of nails, each type of roofing. She also went through the estimate with me and explained why certain materials were recommended and the value of them. It not only helped me understand where my money was going, but it also helped me understand what I was paying for in terms of materials vs labor. That attention to detail stood out to me. Not only that, I had greater confidence when I learned about the experience that Jana and her crew had in the industry. It gave me confidence that they would install the roofing correctly and take the time to do it right. Clean up was also excellent, over the next few months as I undertook some landscaping I only found a handful of small bits of roofing materials around my yard, much less than I expected to.

I used HER Roofing to reroof a rental property and replace its gutters. I had previously used them for the same work on my own home. Both times, the crews they sent out were prompt, quiet*, and professional. They were able to deal with the access constraints posed by my older, hilly neighborhood and conscientious about site clean up.

They weren't the low bidder, but they were definitely the low stress option.

(*) Roof ripping and shingle nailing are inherently noisy but the crews didn't add to it with boom boxes or trying to holler over the noise. On my jobs that was important because both buildings were occupied by people working from home.

Very professional. Project was completed in the estimated time and close to the estimated amount. I especially appreciated the extra time they spent explaining a few items to me during the quoting process. We had a hole patched from a metal smoke stack as well as a couple other concerns taken care of, the riff matches so well it is hard to tell there is a patch. I will be calling them when it is time for a full repair.

They scheduled a quick appointment, and did a thorough inspection. They were kind, the workers did the whole job in 4 days. Love our new roof.

Every person I talked to was so professional and friendly. They were on time, worked efficiently, and left no trace of leaves or construction refuse. Jana is extremely knowledgeable and professional. Her bids are very thorough, no hidden costs. You know exactly what materials are being used down to the nails. She rewrote the bid a few times as I tried to figure out the best product in the Malarkey and Certainteed lines that fit my budget. Jana explained the differences clearly which helped in the decision making. She was honest about pricing and explained there was a nationwide price increase in some materials across all manufacturers and sent me email copies from the companies announcing the price increases.

HER Roofing bid was a bit higher than some of the bids I received, but it was extremely thorough. The transparency in the bid, and Jana’s willingness to answer any and all questions made me feel comfortable I was making the right choice.

Her crew was FANTASTIC and I loved chatting with them. They were so kind that I made them brownies one day to show a little appreciation for their work. They worked HARD, never once screwing around.

I made an appointment with Her Roofing company 19 days ago for a free roof repair estimate. It was supposed to be tomorrow. Today I got a call from them to let me know that estimates are no longer free, it will now be a 270 dollar non refundable charge. When I asked when the policy changed because I made appointment weeks ago I was told the policy change went into effect 2 weeks ago, which was after my appointment was set. I’ve been waiting weeks for this appointment. They could have informed me of the policy change when it happened so I could’ve made other arrangements, or they could have honored the original free estimate cost. They did neither, now I need to find a new roofing company and potentially wait weeks again to have someone come out to take a look at a potential problem. Needless to say, I’m not happy.

Jana Zavala, the president of the company, came out to do the free estimate and was really thorough. I appreciated she walked through the supplies and projections, and was very responsive via email and phone. I felt really confident moving forward with her on this pretty big project for the house. The team that came to do the work were very friendly, fast , and professional; small touches like cleaning up each night and letting me know each day they were starting and heading out.

HER Roofing did a great job of cleaning our cedar roof and gutters. Once the deposit was put down, scheduling took a while to confirm and it would have been great to have the laborer stop after they were completed before leaving. He checked in a couple times during the job but not when it was completed.

Jana thoroughly inspected the roof, then provided a detailed estimate and took the time to review the estimate line by line.

The crew was on time and efficient. And all debris was cleaned up before they departed.

HER Roofing re-roofed our garage, including a low-slope portion that we had recently renovated into an office. This involved tear off, a few new sheets of decking and new shingles, venting, etc.

Like anything--particularly construction--during COVID, prices were a bit higher than I would have liked. But they were more or less in line with the other bids I received, and they provided a much more thorough inspection & explanation of the cost. To me, that meant less chance of "surprise" costs at the end.

The team was actually able to come out earlier than anticipated, and completed my roof in about one day. They were professional, polite, etc.--even asked if it was OK if they could stay later to keep working, to make sure they weren't disturbing us. And honestly, they left the space cleaner than when they showed up.

All questions were answered very promptly during the bid through final billing.

I had a small roof leak and had been unable to get a call back from the many messages I had left the original company who did the initial repair which continued to leak.

Thankfully I found HER Roofing and couldn’t have been happier when I reached a live person and was able to discuss the issue with my roof. They penciled me right in for the estimate, and not only was Jana not late, but she texted me to ask if she could come early!

After she arrived, she took many photos on her iPad and thoroughly explained what she found and what she recommended we do to fix the problem. I couldn’t wait to get started, and as luck would have it, they were able to squeeze my repair into their busy schedule the next day!

From start to finish everyone from HER Roofing was friendly, fast, thorough, and professional. They even sent photos of the completed repair - it doesn’t get better than that! I would highly recommend them to anyone considering a roof repair or replacement.

When we realized a couple things needed to be finished up after they had long finished the job (super minor stuff), Sarah sent Andy back to our house to make me happy. HER Roofing replaced the roof on our detached garage in SE Portland. They were straightforwad, responsive, and professional throughout the experience. We will definitely work with them again when it's time to replace the roof on our house.

We had roof damage from an I e storm which brought large cottonwood branches onto the roof leaving broken and crushed shingles, gutters broken and detached from the fascia. The roof structure is very unique given that it is constructed with full measure 2x4 cedar throughout the whole house. Five of the rafters had been broken. HER Roofing was able to find a mill to custom make the replacement rafters, as part of the re roofing work. All the work was done by their hard working operations manager Eaul who completed the job with great skill and attention to detail.

We really appreciated the service HER provided. Jana was very thoughtful and courteous in how she presented the work needing to be done. We will definitely recommend them to anyone needing a new roof or maintanence.

They were very helpful cleaned the yard after they were done. Looks great! Shortly after they finished we had a windstorm & ice storm I had a leak they came out timely there was an issue with my siding even though it had nothing to do with the roof they came and helped fix the issue. if you want a quick fix not the right company but if you want quality work give Her Roofing a call.

Not timely at all, failed to respond to emails and calls for weeks. Came out, gave us a quote and never got back to us again. I called and they scheduled themselves to come out for the repair instead of checking with us, then made it out to be our fault. I will be calling anyone else to do this job, and I will never be calling this company for work again. They made excuses and blamed lack of labor every step of the way and when the vehicle that showed up to do unscheduled work did not even have their company name on it. Thanks Yonna.

HER Roofing replaced our roof on our 100 year old home. They did an excellent job with tear down, installation, and even clean-up. When they came to provide the estimate we appreciated that we got the estimate on the spot, as well as the level of detail included, and that they were willing to discuss what we did/did not need to do, answer questions, and give us tips. The time between getting the estimate and scheduling and completing the job was also fast--from estimate to completed roof in two weeks. The communication process was fantastic. The materials used are high quality and the work performed seems to be done very well. We are super happy and would definitely recommend them.
