We had our new front door installed in October and love it more every day. Harris is a great company to work with. They were very responsive to our questions and changes. The installers were excellent.

I had Hail Damage and Called Up Joey Hopkins at Harris. He came out inspected my roof with his drone and saw damage. It was easy breezy to go from start to finish per his instructions. He even came out and took samples off my roof and shipped them for me to get my claim completed. You are safe with this company and BTW, the roof looks great and will last my next 25 years.

From beginning to end, Harris roofing and exteriors was professional, informative and affordable. Our windows and doors are beautiful and installed perfectly. First I would like to point out the amount of 5 star reviews are from people that have only posted 1 review which should be the first red flag... Harris was hired for a roof repair because of a leak in our kitchen, of course their recommendation was to replace the entire roof along with some "suggested" add ons. 9 months and $10,000 later after the 2nd snowfall of the entire Chicago winter the roof started to leak in the exact same spot. After emails and calls to Harris they of course denied this was due to their poor quality of work but instead they blamed a new problem from the heavy snow when it was clearly one of our mildest winters in Chicago. After sending emails with the owner, Phil Davis included, we didn't receive a response except from the one person who was on leave during this time, which shows the lack of integrity for this company. Since they were dealing with my senior mother during this process I can't help but assume they were taking advantage of her since there was no attempt to resolve this issue. If you want quality work and a company with standards and integrity, I would not hire Harris, especially if you are a woman or someone that doesn't want their mother, daughter or sister taken advantage of.

Harris replaced all of the windows on the main level of our home, which was a total of 13 windows - in one day! We are so impressed with them from start to finish. When Phil came to quote us on the replacement, it was like talking to an old friend; it was relaxed, quick, and we got a quote the next day. This was night and day from the experience we had with the other window companies that came to quote our window replacement. Also, Harris’ pricing is way more economical, so it was a no brainer with contracting them for the work. Our home is over 100 years old, so lead safety was one of our main concerns, since we have a little one at home. Harris made sure to follow lead safety protocols and the clean up after installation was immaculate. We have noticed such a difference in the sound reduction in our home, in the climate control, and in the overall appearance of our home after getting this installation. It is like our home got a makeover. We will be using Harris for all future exterior projects on our home and are recommending them to all of our family and friends.

I have been wanting to upgrade my vinyl siding on my home to LP for years. I finally got around to getting this completed. I feel like quality customer service is rare with contractors these days, but with Harris -they were on top of it! I will definitely be using them to replace my roof next year.

I chose Harris because they did work in my neighborhood a few months back so I visited their showroom for ideas. My biggest worry was not only finding the color I like for my siding but also how messy and overwhelming these projects can be. Harris didn’t disappoint at all! It took them two days to do my siding and not a nail left over after they cleaned.

Joe helped us get our new roof and I don’t have anything but AMAZING things to say about him. He’s so attentive and quick at responding to any questions you have may have. He made the whole process seamless we love our new roof!

Harris Exteriors Put in a new exterior French Door. The process was professional and the people we worked with were friendly. No pushy salespeople. They showed us the products and then let us make a decision. When the door arrived the installers did an outstanding job. They cleaned up after finishing the job and answered our questions. It looks great.

Don’t Walk Away, RUN!!!

It's only when something goes wrong that a contractor's ethics, character and professionalism are really tested. When Harris Exteriors put in some replacement windows at our home in November 2021, they failed to acknowledge the new hardware and screens were a completely different color from the other windows in the house. When brought to their attention, not only did they ignore us for 4 months, they had the audacity to ultimately bill US for replacement costs and installation fees if we wanted to switch the hardware. This was after their own customer service rep came out and agreed that the color was not even a close match.

Their salesperson had reassured us that the hardware would be as close a match as possible to the originals. Old hardware “bronze”; new hardware “Grey.” Not even close. Harris’s escape clause in the contract (#11) relies on the language “The customer authorizes Company to use it’s best judgement in matching existing materials and the Company shall not be held liable for MINOR variations thereof.” A child could have made a better match. Their choice was not a MINOR variation.

While the 4 hours it took them to install the windows was efficient, the remaining 12 months of working with them was frustrating and irritating. Dealing with our salesman, Dave Dobbs, was tedious. Ironically, he seemed to try and compensate for his lack of communication by incessant talking and circular logic. The owner, Phil Davis refused to meet with us and never came out to look at the job. We waited over 6 months to get our windows and to get the installation scheduled. Between their three locations, Harris doesn't need your business and doesn't know what to do with it when they get it. Choose somebody else, because when even little things go wrong (and they do) you'll want THEM to make it right!

Extremely happy! Incredible work. We looked around with other companies and none compared to the knowledge and professionalism that this company provided! We were recommended by Russ. Lance came out and suggested perfect windows that are absolutely beautiful! Juan and Andy put all our windows in and did an outstanding job! First off this is 5 months overdue. We had Harris do our renovation on our home because of storm damage, Joe Hopkins was our guy who oversaw everything, His professionalism was top notch.We went with Harris because they are local & have been around for quite sometime. Didn’t want to go with some storm chasers. Joe worked with our adjuster & suggested what options we had. Needless to say we are very satisfied with the outcome. Joe suggested the color of siding in particular , misty shadow its called. Love it. The crews were great too roofing, siding , & gutter crews were very professional. On December 5,2019 Just had 5 windows,patio door and storm door installed.The installers were on time and very professional! Lance was my sales representative and friendly and helpful with my choices and didn't try to over sale me! Sharon in office was very helpful with getting order placed due to winter really about it but soon! But ,my review it also about the installer named Andrew! He was so professional and working his (butt) off! He truly knew his skills ,for I had the original window of 30 years in and he had to make some adjustment with everything and it was cold! He truly measured twice and cut once,lol the only break he took was lunch and was right back and worked straight through! I love my new purchases Andrew really paid attention to detail and not just through them up his chalking is prestine! At the end he was so tired and cold (I could see his hands) he still had a smile on his face and showed how to work everything and tested it out! He even trying my kitchen blinds for me! Funny. I worked with Joe Hopkins from Harris Exteriors and I have ZERO issues or complaints! Joe came out and met with me and did a quote on a new roof. Every step was on time, the new roof was in place within a few hours in a single morning. No mess was left to clean up on the ground. The roof looks great. There are so many businesses that disappoint in one way or another, but Harris, in my experience, is not one of them. I could not be more satisfied. Thanks to Joe and Harris Exteriors.

I have had the pleasure of having Harris Exteriors do our siding, 2 windows, 1 patio slider, and a front door with side lights and I am extremely happy with their service. Harris exteriors did our siding and gutters. We also had them replace our front door. We are very happy with how everything turned out. The red front door looks georgous with the green siding. Scott was very helpful during the process. The installers were also really friendly. I would definitely recommend them.

I couldn’t be more pleased with my new roof! The journey began in 2014 when a representative from an A+ rated roofing company on Angie’s list came out to the house. The rep walked around the house, but never got up on the roof and never went into the attic. We talked for about 30 minutes and the rep left. A week or so later, I received their estimate. I followed up with some questions and was told I could expect a revised quote in a few days. After questioning prices on the second quote and after repeated phone calls to the company and a promise of a revised third quote … which never came ... I decided not to use this company. In 2015, at the recommendation of friends, I contacted Harris Exteriors and More, Inc. Joe Hopkins came out to the house, got up on the roof, went up in the attic, and spent time explaining the various options and pricing. The estimate I received was very reasonable and I decided to go with Harris Exteriors. Not only did they tear off the old and install the new roof, they also installed gutter guards, a new downspout, shutters, and aluminum wrap around the rakes, eaves and garage door frame. Each member of the crew worked hard and cleaned up when the job was completed. From start to finish, Joe was easy to work with and very accommodating. Since the time all of the work was completed, there have been at least 2 or 3 very strong wind events. I’m happy to say I didn’t lose any shingles! As I stated at the beginning of this review, I couldn’t be more pleased with my new roof. Thank you, Joe and Harris Exteriors!

great results from harris exteriors after having all my old gutters replaced on my house and garage - it was pleasant to deal with lance and company, i will use harris in future needs.

After interviewing 3 different siding companies, I made the decision to have Harris Exteriors replace the siding, soffits, fascia, gutters, back door and basement windows in my ranch home in Bartlett. I chose Harris because Scott Miesfeldt, the Sales/Project Manager, was always very professional and very patient with me answering all my questions and concerns since I initially knew nothing about siding. By the time I decided on the color, make, etc. and everything was ordered it was November and the weather had turned to very bitter cold days. I could not believe the workers at Harris would work in such cold weather – but they did. All the guys did a great job and I was very pleased with the look of the home.

Last Friday, with the 50+ winds, I came home and found that one of the columns in front of the home (decorative not weight bearing) had fallen down because of a combination of the change in temperatures over time and because of the strong wind.
I e-mailed Scott Monday morning and within a very short period of time he responded and by the end of the day the column was back in place and anchored so I should not have any further problems all at no cost to me.

I have no reservations in recommending Harris Exteriors.

Within the different project types they have multiple manufactures that could be used to best fit your project. In addition to the remarkable showroom, they are raising expectations in the exteriors industry. Other contractors that are in the industry do not have the same procedures as Harris Exteriors. Many contractors make it obvious that they are just there to make the sale. Harris' sales men stick with you until the end of the job. They will be there to hear your needs and concerns. They walk through every step of your project and make sure you know what you are paying for. Unlike other companies, Harris will make sure that everything you could be charged for will be brought to your attention ahead of time. Many companies will start the job and then charge you more because they conveniently found more to charge you for. With Harris they are up front with everything and are straight forward with the cost of doing the project the right way.

Harris Exteriors run on professionalism. This company will show up on time when they have scheduled. If something comes up they notify the customer right away and makes sure that the customers are informed.

Harris Exteriors did our windows in Elgin. Joe Hopkins and Phil Davis came out for an estimate. The price was fair, the guys were extremely knowledgeable and informative, helping to make the perfect selection, and the work was amazing. Highly recommend Harris exteriors, and we will be using them in the future for all of our exterior needs.

I initially had Harris exteriors come in to remove ALL exterior rotted wood and replace it with new wood and capping. Andy did the job. The job was done in a timely manner and the fee was paid for services rendered. Fast forward 2 years later and I am having my siding/roof redone and the current contractor notifies me that I have rotten wood along some of the windows along side my house. He promptly removes the wood which is black in color, indeed rotted.

I called Harris exteriors immediately and spoke to Carl. He sent Scott (the salesman) out to see what the problem was. Scott came and saw the wood, admitted that it was indeed rotten, took pictures, and asked what he could do to rectify the situation. I asked for compensation in the amount that I now have to pay to fix the problem that I originally had paid 2 years ago to be fixed. This was Friday July 17, 2015. Scott told me that I would hear back from him or someone from company by Monday July 20, 2015. I called on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 when I still had heard nothing. The woman that answered the phone told me that Scott was on another call and transferred me to Carl. Carl told me that Scott's car had broken down on the road and this is why he could not talk to me. Ok, now they don't even know why he is unable to answer the phone?! Either way, I was assured that Scott would call me back. Today is Friday, July 24, 2015 and I called once again after not hearing anything back from the company. I spoke to Carl who assured me that Scott is just busy with consultations but he would call me back today in between consultations. It is now 9pm and of course no one has returned my call.

I feel like I am being avoided. Harris exteriors as business professionals should at the very least return customers' calls. The work they did, or lack thereof, they blamed upon the fact that they could not see the part of the wood that had rotted when they did the work. Being professionals, I trusted that they would be thorough and ensure that EVERYTHING was completed. I brought them on as contractors to fix what was wrong and they did not complete the job. Had I not gotten my siding redone, I would have never known that I still had rotten wood on my house and possibly run in to much worse problems later.

I am hoping by leaving this review, Harris exteriors will return my call, and properly rectify the problem that I am now facing due to their lack of completeness. If the situation is resolved, I will modify my review to show this. Otherwise, I cannot recommend this company due to poor customer service and lack of comprehensive work.
