Harris has done two big projects on our home - front door replacement and a new roof. Fair pricing, easy to communicate with, responsive, and high quality work. Strongly recommended.

They replaced my roof and siding 15 years ago and both are in excellent shape today. I have had other companies check my roof for hail damage and their report is that the roof in in excellent shape. I see other homes in the area with buckling siding, but mine is still perfect.

Our townhome association chose Harris Roofing, Siding, Windows, and Doors to replace our siding and we could not be more pleased. We have used Harris Roofing & Doors twice now. We had our front door installed with very good results. Very happy with our front door. Since we had a good experience with that install we called them again for our Patio door. They installed our patio door with great precision and detail. I highly recommend Harris Doors.

My salesman Lance was extremely knowledgeable about my siding project and foresaw issues that other companies i had talked to did not which ultimately helped me to have a smoother experience and the comfort of knowing that there is no more rotten plywood or mold on or in my home!! Harris is a company that does high quality work and stands behind it. We quoted a few companies to replace our roof. At the end of the quoting process, we were most comfortable with Harris. Joe was knowledgeable and patient, and he took the time to explain everything to us. Never did we feel rushed to sign a contract, like we did with some of the other companies. I was confident when they were done with the work that we had a high quality roof that would last a long time. My coworker needed a roof after us and went through the same process. I recommended Harris and he is also a happy customer. I can be a picky customer, but everything about this experience was top notch.

I chose Harris to begin with because I have used them for roofing and siding in the past, and I have always been pleased! I wanted the wood on the front of my house taken down and siding put up. Joe Hopkins came over to give me an estimate and showed me a picture of a house similar to mine without shutters. It never entered my mind to update the front of my house without shutters. I am so happy I did what he suggested. The front of the house looks great!. And they also found some damage under the wood and repaired it. I am very happy I chose them, and will continue to choose them in the future, if need be.

All the staff from the estimate, the installers and the office staff are very nice to work with. Prices were fair and on point with other estimates. We went with them for their personal touch and are very happy with our roof replacement

We had our windows, a couple doors, roof, gutters and soffits replaced. Very professional work, the crews did a great job cleaning up each day and worked fast! We had Alside windows, and a new ThermaTru entry door installed - we love them.

I had windows replaced multiple times by Harris Exteriors . We chose the Sierra Pacific H3 Casement and awning windows. The installed the new window in a day. The window were pre finished white and brown exterior that matched my Pella Patio doors. I am happy with the service and installation. I would recommend this company if you are looking to replace your windows.

I was referred to Harris Exteriors by Sunrise Windows, which Harris sells and who also has a sample Sunrise window in their showroom. Sunrise sent 3 packages of window parts (horizontal top pieces that have wrinkled, beading replacement, insulation, side covers, and breeze fixers) to Harris because the original company Pride Windows and Siding owned by Will Richae, who sold and installed the lifetime warranty windows, along with his 25-year warranty (useless now, but which was touted as 25 yr. versus "the other guy's" 10 yr.) is out of business according to Sunrise. So, I am supposed to fix the defective windows myself; Sunrise (bought out by MI Windows and Doors) will send me parts all day long, at least for now. Not helpful.

I visited Barrington twice, once to pick up the pieces Sunrise first shipped to Streamwood, who agreed to transfer them to Barrington for my convenience since Sunrise wouldn't ship to that location because it wasn't in their system, and the second time to get someone to show me how to install them. It isn't obvious, even with partial instructions, and the parts to fix cold air pouring in the windows are labor intensive, just for one window. The "FYI" call to pick up my pieces came from Will, so I went to Barrington to collect my pieces from a gal in the showroom who couldn't show me anything; I later used the number Will left to call him when there was evidence of a leaking window but, not surprisingly, he didn't respond.

I've left my name and address with both Barrington and Streamwood (who didn't have manpower or the time to deal with my issues); for some reason they don't need phone numbers. Again, no subsequent help or any response.

What concerns me is that Will Richae is working here in sales. His Pride company's installation of dark-glassed Sunrise windows and the giant gray aluminum framing around them, which we were never told of in advance nor have I EVER seen anything like it on ANY house, destroyed the look of our home. Each window was also shorted the original surface area of the glass. There were and still are many problems that I've had to address myself, including the Sunrise patio door and screen, and the front ProVia doors.

I would proceed with caution if you do use Harris for your project. Not sure why there is even a showroom, manned during the week by someone who can't assist or answer questions (and who claimed to not know of Will Richae). So, all my window parts to remedy defects remain uninstalled. If I make a mistake or break something, how does that affect a lifetime warranty?

We had all of our windows replaced, as well as utility doors, vinyl siding and trim, and gutters. They also had to repair a lot of rot on the outside of the house. The house looks great and completely different. Juan and his crew were excellent and very talented.

I would use this business again. One note, on the doors: They said they would paint them in house but I don’t think they do a great job with that. We will have to get them sprayed by our contractor.

The outside work is excellent.

Harris Exteriors in Streamwood installed new French Doors for us. The process was very smooth and they communicated with us well. Before we ordered the doors they informed us it would take 6 months after we ordered before it would be delivered. Then in the spring they called us and scheduled a delivery and installation date. They showed up as scheduled and the installation was flawless and professional. We love our new doors.

We hired Harris to replace our roof, siding, gutters, and soffit. We originally received quotes from four different outfits of various sizes and Harris’s quote was very competitive if not the lowest. I don’t remember for sure because ultimately we had other considerations than cost alone, but they were at least significantly lower than two of the other three we spoke with.

Not sure if anyone else can relate, but I find that large budget projects like this can be anxiety inducing, but I had confidence that our contact Joe Hopkins understood exactly what we were looking for and where we were and weren’t willing to spend extra for better features. I should also say that while the amount we spent was significant to us, I can imagine how it might be on the lower end of projects that Harris does, yet I felt as though we were always treated as a priority. They found a way to get the project completed within a very short timeline which was probably an unreasonable request from us, but it made my wife very happy.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the work. It came out exactly as expected. I would highly recommend you speak with Harris for roofing and siding.

Critical: Professionalism, Responsiveness
Don’t Walk Away, RUN!!!

It's only when something goes wrong that a contractor's ethics, character and professionalism are really tested. When Harris Exteriors put in some replacement windows at our home in November 2021, they failed to acknowledge the new hardware and screens were a completely different color from the other windows in the house. When brought to their attention, not only did they ignore us for 4 months, they had the audacity to ultimately bill US for replacement costs and installation fees if we wanted to switch the hardware. This was after their own customer service rep came out and agreed that the color was not even a close match.

Their salesperson had reassured us that the hardware would be as close a match as possible to the originals. Old hardware “bronze”; new hardware “Grey.” Not even close. Harris’s escape clause in the contract (#11) relies on the language “The customer authorizes Company to use it’s best judgement in matching existing materials and the Company shall not be held liable for MINOR variations thereof.” A child could have made a better match. Their choice was not a MINOR variation.

While the 4 hours it took them to install the windows was efficient, the remaining 12 months of working with them was frustrating and irritating. Dealing with our salesman, Dave Dobbs, was tedious. Ironically, he seemed to try and compensate for his lack of communication by incessant talking and circular logic. The owner, Phil Davis refused to meet with us and never came out to look at the job. We waited over 6 months to get our windows and to get the installation scheduled. Between their three locations, Harris doesn't need your business and doesn't know what to do with it when they get it. Choose somebody else, because when even little things go wrong (and they do) you'll want THEM to make it right!

Harris is our recommendation and our first choice as we plan to continue to use them. They are very professional, competent, detailed, thorough, fair and easy to work with.
