Two years ago, a neighbors friend left his truck attended on her hill that leads down to my house. I was at work when his truck rolled down the hill and into my house - into my master bedroom to be exact. No one was home, but my dogs and cats. Who were terrified!

Anyway, he had good insurance thankfully that covered it all. However finding a fair deal was a bit tasking, and finding someone that I trusted to repair my home in a timely and safe manor with my pets at home while
I was not - was another factor.

Not only did Handy Mikes guys give me the fairest quote and most speedy appointment for the project, they were kind. They were knowledgeable, punctual, and quick to offer any help with cosmetic projects following - although I told them I had needed to paint anyway and can never decide on a color lol!

I feel that my home is safer, even, now. And I’m thankful I went with them!

This is the first bad review I've left for anything in my life but my wife and I were extremely unhappy with the electrical work done by Handy Mike. We got a few quotes from a few sources for some electrical work we wanted done at our new house. Handy Mikes quote was far and away the most expensive I received, but we liked Paul and had a bunch more work at our new house so wanted a good relationship with a reputable company..
In short they had to come back twice to get the breaker to stop flipping because something was off. And ultimately we had no lights in half of our house for about a month before they came back to fix the issue ..
We were told the wiring in our house was a mess but only told that after we called and complained that things weren't working properly. They had come out previously to take pictures and assess the job and I thought the expensive quote reflected the job they had assessed. bottom line to me.. it all worked properly before they came here and now almost 2 months later it still isn't 100% working several thousand dollars later... Communication from the office by this time had also become difficult and frustrating.. after a month of waiting to fix the issue our day got pushed back last minute we were told because of an important ongoing job elsewhere.
All in all 99% of everything is working. I could not properly write in this review the amount of difficulties we had along the way. The business owner did reach out in the end to make amends which appreciated but we will not be calling them back or recommending them.

Business owner Mike contacted me and begged me to change from a one star review.. he assured me that a check would be in the mail to reimburse us for our trouble.. 3 weeks later nothing ever came in the mail. Please don't bother supporting this business.. what a ridiculous horrible experience...

Highly recommend HMLLC for all your needs. Paul came out to do a quote for a variety of repairs: tiling, shed door and ramp replacement, mesh screen repair, fixing a stubborn storm door, and porch railings. Then, Tom came out and did everything in 2.5 days! We are so grateful for their experience, transparency and solid communication. I also like that the quote and payment is digitized so I have it for my records.

What a great company from top to bottom! Fair estimate, exceeded our expectations. Tom was professional, on-time, methodical, attention to detail was excellent. The Office Manager (Stephanie) is on top of her game. We could not recommend them more highly! They are Charlottesville's best.

I am in total agreement with Frances McBride below. This being the first time I've used Handy Mike, I was pleasantly surprised by their professionalism starting with the initial estimates thru the work performed by their qualified workmen...knowledgeable, courteous, problem solvers, good results.

HandyMike LLC just put a new roof on our 25 year old gazebo and it looks like new. They repaired and painted the cupola, added a drip edge, and crafted a beautiful roof.

I can not say enough about how wonderful this company is! My microwave stopped working and I needed a new one installed. I left a voicemail on a Sunday afternoon and promptly heard back and had an appointment for Thursday. On Monday at noon I received a call that due to their calls being completed earlier than expected that they were available. Within 15 mins they arrived and completed the job in less than 45 mins! They were amazing! So efficient, professional, knowledgeable and so very nice! And they also put everything back and cleaned the area perfectly! I will definitely call them again without hesitation! HandyMike where have you been all these years? After dealing with way too many fly-by-night companies I reached out to them at the suggestion of a buddy. They replied immediately and professionally and got my job done on schedule and budget. HandyMike and crew really went out of their way to do an outstanding job on our Free Union home. We have the smallest house in a really nice area and the work had to be up to high standards, which they accomplished. They replaced our front porch, built a really nice front dormer of architectural interest, replaced our back deck & railing and even rebuilt the side steps going into our kitchen. Super great job and compliments are already coming in. I'd strongly recommend HandyMike based on our personal experience. Andrew and his crew installed 2 electrical outlets in my bathrooms and 3 exterior lights around my driveway. Took the dog for a long walk and when we got back they were done! Excellent work and able to cover a wide range of home repairs and improvements.

Very happy with the large 3-tiered planter stand built for me. Miles suggested a design that improved upon my original concept and completed it in one day. Excellent work & thorough clean up.

I had a few screws on an electric wall outlet that needed to be tightened. I just couldn't get into the position needed because of some arthritis in my neck. Mike had a minimum charge fot the job and I had to just swallow it and accept my medicine. The tech came out and, as I suspected, spent 5 minutes on the job. He was a very pleasant fellow. I was surprised and gratified when I received the invoice and it had been discounted. It was a fair resolution that I had not bargained for. I will use HandyMike in the future and recommend him to others.

HandyMike helped us replace our front porch, power washed our back deck, installed an underceiling for our back deck, installed a storm door, and stained the new front porch and back deck! Whew!!! Went over my list with Handy Mike two months ago (after waiting for two months for that) and have yet to receive a quote or a response to my call 10 days ago, even though I was promised a response. If you are that busy, don’t schedule appointments for quotes for more business. Customer service should be your priority. Now I have to start this whole process over again. Not happy about that.

Everyone at HandyMike was knowledgeable and professional. When there was a mix-up over scheduling, they took responsibility and made it right. The work was excellent. We are very pleased and recommend them highly.

Long story short: we had a new oven delivered and needed some cabinets trimmed to allow the new oven to fit. I called around to some other companies I had used in the past and either got no response back or a wait time of about three weeks to a month. I had never used HandyMike before, but they will now be on my speed dial and all my old numbers tossed. Mike gave me a price and sent a technician out in an hour who did excellent work. They even smoothed the corners of the cabinet so it had a finished look. The technician was very nice and professional and not a spec of wood dust was left in clean-up. Thank you!
