HandyMike and his team recently painted my Living Room, Dining Room and hallway areas. This job included a lot of ceiling and wall repair from prior leak damage. The job was done quickly and it looks fantastic! They were the neatest workers I’ve ever had at my house. I highly recommend HandyMike. He’s friendly, honest, reliable and does great work. Mike came by to see if my dryer vent needed cleaning. His recommendation was to wait and he gave me professional advice about when to know when it's needed. He also recommended replacing the flex hose that's there because it's the wrong type of hose for a dryer vent. I will definitely contact him again for any other work I will definitely need in the future. Glad I found him!

I first reached out on Monday 11/4/2024 and he says he is not available until the following week. So I waited and scheduled an appointment for 11/12/2024. The day comes and I had to leave work so I can see him. A text comes at 3:20 PM telling me he can't make it and he will be back the next day without asking if I am available or not. So unprofessional.

Mike is always a professional. Responded very quickly and took care of what we needed. We have used him in the past and highly recommend him.

Mike replaced an old wooden basement door that my father built in ‘65 on a now 100 year old house. Strange dimensions and positioning of the entrance made a Bilco door replacement impossible. It had to be a carpentry job. With the lack of professionalism these days, I thought I would never get the problem solved.
Mike came in and banged it out. Done in 6 hrs.
Real quality workmanship. The new door is more solid than it ever was.

We have used HandyMike about 10 times since we moved in a year ago. He has hung pictures, mirrors, shelves and hooks, put together furniture. I highly recommend him. He is super responsive, professional, keeps the job site clean, comes on-time and works quickly and efficiently. Today, he saved us from a disaster with our garage door opening engine hanging by a thread-- Thanks Mike! He is our "go-to" and I am sure we will use him again in the near future.

There is nobody better in the business than Mike. He and his crew did a compete basement makeover for me. They had the job completed in five days and the craftsmanship and attention to detail is out of this world awesome. He gave a very fair estimate that was right on target with the final cost. Mike and his team were accurate, efficient, tidy and friendly! We had some open dry wall holes from a plumbing job as well as a shower grab bar and shelf installation done. I began by emailing Mike. He promptly responded. Answered all my questions, gave me a quote upfront.

Had him install a ceiling fan, storm door, and attic door replacement in the ceiling.

He showed up on time, got straight to work, little chit chat or small talk (which is great). He had two assistants. All polite and professional (demeanor, tools, covered the floors and staircase, vacuumed, hauled away the garbage, debris, even made sure my cats didn't run out the door. ).

Prices were competitive (not the cheapest).
Will use his service again and recommend him for sure.

If you want the job done as planned, ontime, and no BS, give them a try.

Mike is simply incredible! There is no job he can't do with top of the line quality. He is very responsive and is a man of his word too. If he says he will do the job and he gives you a date you can rest assured the job will be done to your liking. Honestly you don't even need to be home if he's working on the job. I started off using him for 1 job but was so impressed with his work 1 job turned into 2. 2 has turned into MANY! Each job was done to perfection. He even put together a shed we bought at home Depot. I came home from work and the shed was all done.

Mike has been at our home several times for repair of 3 different doors. In minutes he fixed an interior door which came out of the wall, next time he replaced a door that leads from the garage to the backyard and recently fixed floor-to-ceiling louver closet doors. He has always shown up when he said he would, rates were very fair, and always very professional. Can't say enough good things. After reading all the other reviews and the various things he can repair, I'm starting a list and then giving him another call. I started using him because someone else had recommended him to me.

Mike has completed three projects for us and I haven’t been disappointed. After he used excellent trouble-shooting skills on my latest project to install a bathroom ceiling vent fan, a large mirrored medicine cabinet, a ceiling light and vanity light in my bathroom a few weeks ago, I call him Magic Mike! Despite plumbing and electrical design issues, he figured out a way to put my lights, cabinet and fan exactly where I wanted them. He and his workers were skilled, neat, friendly and efficient. I want them back to finish my bathroom, so please don’t hog him LOL!!! He’s getting too popular!

Mike is by far the best handyman we have had in the 35 years living here in Pompton Plains. You can't get better than him, and I would highly recommend him to everyone. We have used him for many different type projects and they have all been done flawlessly!

Installed new attic stairs. I originally purchased the wrong size stairs for the project and had to run down to the supplier to purchase the correct size stairs which took more time to complete the installation. I fully expected an increase in his original quote for the installation. When I mentioned this to him he said no worries and kept to his original quote. A genuinely nice person! I will definitely be reaching out to him for my next home project.

It’s so hard to find a qualified and reliable contractor until we found Handy Mike. He does amazing work and is reasonably priced and beyond reliable and a good guy! I highly recommend him to friends and family.

Mike has done several projects at my house over the past year. Including remodeling covered deck, changing light fixtures, fixing front door, and dry wall work. ABOVE AND BEYOND! I hired Mike to help with a squirrel broken gavel vent and to fix the doors on my shed. All of the work was beyond my expectations. He rebuilt the doors to my shed when I only requested a repair in the railing. He saw a need and met it. He also came back when the squirrels broke the vent again and replaced it at no charge. His prices were fair, no upcharges or cost per screw/nail that I have experience before. He was on time, walked me through the work before and after and was responsive on his website. We will be using him again.

Mike and his assistant replaced a shed roof. They removed the old roof, replaced eroded plywood and installed underlayment and new GAF roofing shingles. Mike arrived on time, completed the job satisfactorily, carried away all debris and left the work area clean. Would not hesitate to use Mike again!

Mike and his helper were very professional. He gave me an appointment at least 2 weeks prior to work and showed up exactly on time. They replaced 2 patio doors is less than 1.5 days including the trims. They cleaned up everything prior to leaving. I will definitely call him in the future anytime I need help.

Mike remodeled my falling apart deck. He reinforced it and ripped out the wood decking and replaced it with composite decking. He also replaced railings with pvc railings.
