Customers are fully satisfied

The work Halcyon did was top notch. The team was polite, clean and responsive. The staircase they built for us became the most complimented space in the home, and I would hire them again without hesitation.

What type of project did they complete for you?
Home renovation - We basically gutted most of our house and added an addition for the kitchen of our dreams...
We're an older couple (60+) intending on retiring in place.
Interior:
Halcyon added a 20x10 "sidecar" addition on a steel pier, for a kitchen,
opened the first floor (removed walls) into a great room and added large windows (Pella),
moved the 1st floor bathroom to a new location (the tiling guy Victor is outstanding) in the event we need to live on just the 1st floor
and removed an unpermitted finished basement with mold issues.
Also, provided a detailed lighting plan ( super nice result ).
Exterior:
Replaced the exterior siding (Hardi Plank), sheathing (Zip Board), and trim (Azek),
replaced the roof, added foam insulation wherever possible (including attic at Justin's suggestion...BIG difference),
found and fixed degraded framing sitting on the foundation,
found termites (yikes!) and replaced the front door (Pella),
extended my deck and made the space beneath the deck dry space...
Were you satisfied with the quality of their work?
Yes. Considering the size and variety of work we're extremely satisfied. There have been no quality or materials issues. I did notice the attention to detail.
Did they complete the project on time and within budget?
Yes. They were also very responsive to the various surprises we uncovered...termites, water damage to the framing, old sheathing that wasn't code...
How was their communication throughout the project?
Justin is great. I do IT work, so home construction is way out of my wheelhouse. Justin was patient, took the time to make suggestions and explain the details. I learned a lot and still appreciate that. The design work and plans provided helped me enormously.
Did you encounter any issues, and if so, how were they resolved.
Oh yes! Once they started replacing the siding, issues emerged...termites, water damage, improper installation of windows, no flashing on windows or front steps (see termites), materials that were no longer code...
When they hit an issue the Halcyon folks would discuss it with us, propose various solutions and we'd adjust as needed.
Would you hire them again for future projects?
Absolutely and intend to for some other projects ( finish basement, revise deck...)
Any additional information you can provide about your experience would be extremely helpful.
The Halcyon crew that was at my house were super nice and helpful.
The subcontractors Justin uses are high quality and he monitors their output.

We sit now in a home that exceeds our wildest dreams (but not our budget!) and we owe it all to Justin Pincham of Halcyon Contracting. We had absolute faith, confidence and trust in his skills, talents, vision and integrity going in, yet he still managed to exceed our expectations on this job. Our project required some very technical work that was expertly executed, and the results are stunning. The kitchen and butler’s pantry are the envy of all! Justin is also a visionary designer who can offer excellent suggestions and ideas. He and his in-house architect are an unbeatable team. Justin is an expert in almost every aspect of building. Be it structural, electric, or plumbing, his hands-on knowledge makes him a very thorough supervisor of the sub-contractors. When something came up that was really tricksey, Justin would roll up his sleeves and do it himself. This melted all of our anxieties because we knew that if Justin was doing it, it was going to be done right and we didn’t have to worry about it. Justin also has an innate ability to attract good people. I can’t say enough good things about the Halcyon team. My husband and I were on the job site most days, and they came to feel like family. We’ve missed them so much that we have to invite them to dinner from time to time so that we can stay in touch!

The average roof replacement cost for a residential home typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000, depending on factors such as roof size, chosen materials, roof pitch, and labor rates in your area. Premium materials or complex designs may increase the price.
The cost to replace the roof of a commercial building typically ranges from $5 to $12 per square foot, depending on several factors such as roof size, material, labor rates, building type, and local code requirements.
Several factors influence roof repair cost, including the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, material type, labor costs, and whether it’s a general repair or an emergency fix. Minor repairs can start around $150–$400, while major repairs may exceed $1,500.
Roof leak repair cost generally ranges from $300 to $800, depending on the size and location of the leak, the materials required, and labor intensity. Complex leaks involving structural repairs or interior damage will cost more.
Flat roof repair cost for commercial properties usually ranges from $500 to $3,000, depending on the roofing material (TPO, EPDM, PVC), the extent of the damage, and roof accessibility.
Mobile home roof replacement cost typically ranges from $3,000 to $8,000, making it generally more affordable than traditional home roof replacements, due to smaller size and simpler structure.
It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.
The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.
To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.
Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.
When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.
Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
