Grade On Excavation

We were introduced to Aaron from Grade On Excavation by our septic designer Mike from Connecticut Valley Septic Design, who couldn’t say enough great things about him. That speaks volumes to me when a contractor highly recommends another contractor. As we currently live in another state, Aaron accommodated us and met us on our schedule to go over our needs, wants and future plans for our property. He listened, recommended, and designed an incredible new driveway that flowed with the land and a camper pad for us to use until we can build in the future. He gave us suggestions and visions for the property that we would have never thought of, but that really worked for us. We realized how little we knew about this process and what we truly wanted and needed until he guided us and gave us suggestions for us to think over. Aaron assisted us further by working and coordinating with the tree removal company that we hired to clear some of the land. He took that burden and stress away from us as we wouldn’t have been able to be there to oversee the job. We didn’t think companies supported their clients like he did for us, and we truly believe that he went above and beyond. We got the sense he would do this for all his clients as that’s the type of person he is honest, professional, responsive and truly cared that we were satisfied with his workmanship. He was amazing! He has been indispensable and we plan on using him for all our future excavation needs on our property.

Tired of the mud and looking for someone to install a stone driveway, we found Grade On Excavation and are super happy with the results. Knowledge, professionalism, and attention to detail was greatly appreciated. Our adjusted bill at the end of the project was even lower than the estimate. Honesty!

We have used WRS at the Boys & Girls Club of the North Country in Lisbon NH for several years. Most recently contracted to help with a DES needed fix before the ground freeze. Not only did they squeeze BGC in their busy schedule last minute but the disruption to the Club activities was minimal and respected. In and out in 2 days! The clean up is always amazing . A job well executed. They even spared a new lilac bush planted in memory of a Board member by working around it.

They also came to the Clubs aid a couple years back in a seasonal mud emergency situation and previosly repaired the Clubs entire parking lot, helping with drainage issues.

Aaron, Justin, Michelle and their entire team are courteous, kind, and responsive. As a for profit business, they are mindful of non-profit financial restraints.

Wendell Rexford & Sons is a remarkable company! They just completed a major project at Easterseals Gammon Academy at Lancaster and did an amazing job. I could not be more pleased with the professional manner in which they handled each and every phase of the project. Aaron was collaborative in the planning process and made sure to include steps in the plan that would protect our existing walkways and recreational spaces. While carrying out the work, they were careful and conscientious, keeping safety as a top priority for the sake of our students and residents. They were also flexible and able to work with us to share our driveway and parking spaces. As they cleaned up the project, they made sure to work to "repair" any impact of their work on the property - reseeding lawn and sweeping paths, etc. Truly impressive work from start to finish! I will definitely seek their services when needed in the future and would recommend them without reservation to anyone looking!

Wendell Wexford and sons are excellent. I had a issue with a sewer pipe, they immediately contacted me and came by the house and had the project done In 2 days. I would highly recommend their services, if I need another project completed I wouldn’t hesitate to call them again.

We recently had some wetland issues, we reached out to several companies, some were too busy and others just didn't seem to be interested in helping us out. After reaching out to Wendell Rexford and Son
, Aaron quickly retuned our call. My husband and I was feeling extremely overwhelmed with the whole situation. Even though his company was also very busy Aaron quoted the job and told us the job would be done before the deadline that we were given. Aaron remained calm/professional and very helpful through out everything. His Secretary/receptionist was always extremely polite, friendly and reassuring every time we called with further information regarding the job.

Aaron came highly recommended to us by a trusted source as the best choice for our excavation project. The original scope was to dig a foundation for our new garage and to modify the area around the garage to improve site drainage. The lead on the project was Justin who turned out to be an invaluable resource. In addition to being knowledgeable, professional and courteous, he was always thinking three steps ahead and offered insight to better situate the building and optimize site drainage. We also had him re-grade a portion of the driveway to better integrate with the new garage location which improved drainage even further. We couldn’t be happier with the results. Our expectations were high to begin with, but Aaron and his crew far exceeded our expectations. A five star rating is an understatement. They get the top spot on our list of “Go To” contractors.

In the fall of 2019 WRS Excavation helped us with a one quarter acre yard expansion project. They came in on budget and worked closely with us to schedule between our house bookings and get the grass growing as soon as possible in the spring. We were very happy with the results and now have a nice big lawn to enjoy!

The project included grubbing stumps, subsurface drainage, moving very large rocks, rough and finish grading and exporting and importing materials to the site. The subsurface drainage was very important to us and WRS hauled in two dump trucks of course crushed stone to fill a large drainage trench about 5’ deep to lower the groundwater table in the area. They finished in the spring of 2020 with 5” of loam topped with grass seed and hay.

Wendell Rexford & Sons did all our site prep, site planning, and acted as general contractor for all the groundwork we needed for building a house. We are delighted with the work they did for us. Aaron personally suggested an excellent site plan making best use of our lot layout, had excellent, thoughtful suggestions for contractors that did quality work, had excellent cost saving suggestions, and helped us out with one problem contractor. His crew, Justin particularly, did excellent quality work. They were extremely responsive to any concerns we had, promptly and completely addressing them. We hope to use them for future work, and would most enthusiastically recommend them to anyone.

Wendell Rexford & Sons just resurfaced my driveway and installed a large drainage ditch. I’m extremely pleased with the work performed. The driveway was compacted and pitched perfectly, the grass was reseeded near the ditch and no mess left behind. It was a pleasure working with Mark and I’m sure I’ll be calling on WRS again. I would highly recommend this company!

Very fast and friendly people . needed a load of material in a hurry and had it next day. Plan on scheduling ahead to get excavating for garage done in spring.

We contracted Wendell Rexford and Sons in advance for some work to be done that included a specific timeline. The estimate was very fair and Aaron's communication along the way for the project was excellent. The work was completed as expected and we are very pleased with the result. I contracted Wendell Rexford and Sons (WRS) to bury my in-ground pool. Their representative, Aaron, came out to look over the job and had it estimated quickly. They came promptly, explained what they would be doing and then did exactly what they said they would. I was very happy with the job. Mark and his crew were fast and efficient. I did have an issue at the end of the job. I was very upset about it. I brought it up to Aaron who came out within 45 min of my call and had the problem fixed the next day. Aaron said "I want you to be happy with our work" and I was.
I highly recommend this company and will definitely contract with them in the future, should a need arise!

Our overall experience with Wendell Rexford & Sons was excellent from the moment we called to the finished project. After having a new septic system put in, our yard looks better than it did before. Very professional workmanship. We highly recommend them.

I've used WRS a few times now on some land that we are putting a cabin on in the future. Aaron has been great to work with. We initially used WRS when needing a perc test done when we were looking at the land. I live a few hours away so it was great that Aaron was very flexible and responsive via email. More recently I had him do some clearing/grading/excavating. He came out to give a quote and also give some advice/suggestions on what to do which was definitely appreciated. His work looks great and I can definitely tell it was done with care and expertise. We will certainly use WRS again in the future.

A very professional company..these workers,Aaron,Justin and Jason did a super excavating project on the perimeter of my house. Polite,hard working,thorough,diligent..the crew kept in contact with me as the job progressed,explaining and interacting in a very informative manner.When finished,they had covered the area completly, put new grass seed down, and best of all my small deck(which they had moved ),was put back flush with door going into my house..am handicapped and had a ramp before leading down to the deck,now I can just open the door and walk out..awesome.This was important to me as,the job itself did not include anything about the deck. Before the project began,Aaron had been very good with all aspects of this- quick response to questions,accurate time estimates and flexibility with my schedule. I highly recommend Rexford&Sons...they do a 110% job.

When we started planning on our new home we had no idea what to expect. Aaron came in and told us what we had to do to prepare and he knew what our land was like by looking at it where we have water run off every year and he prepared our land so that we would n o longer be affected. They did a fantastic job, very efficient, timely and affordable. We highly recommend them.

I must tell you that I am beyond happy with the work that Aaron and his crew did.
On July 14th, we had quite a thunderstorm, wind and rain...which took some more rocks down from my old fieldstone chimney.
The next day, my brother got up on the roof, and was very alarmed at the condition of the chimney, tons of rocks leaning right towards my bedroom and living room! People were quite concerned and worried about my safety, but I told them not to worry, I would find someone to take the chimney down right away.
Little did I dream that it would be so difficult to find someone to do the work. I made about 20 phone calls to contractors, masons, construction companies. The ones that did bother to talk to me or return my phone calls were few, and they all said no. They either didn't do that kind of work or were "too busy" (and this was after explaining that the chimney job was an emergency). A couple managed to come out and look at the chimney, both saying that the job was out of their league and "good luck lady". I was getting more and more concerned, wondering if I would ever find anyone, and my family was very worried too. Finally, A&P Landscaping in Whitefield were kind enough to call me back, and referred me to Aaron. Although I have you folks doing my snowplowing, I didn't realize all the other things that you do (and now that I know, you will always be the first people I call!). Aaron came right out with the mason Josh, looked over the chimney and said yes, we can do this....with no hesitation. I was so very grateful to meet these confident and kind young men. The job went perfectly. I sent photos to my family, kept them posted as to what was going on, and they too were very grateful. It's such a relief to have that old dangerous chimney gone!
I appreciate too that Aaron stuck to his original quote, even though it was decided later that a crane had to be brought in. Thank you.

Having completed a commercial project several years ago, we've had plenty of experience with all types of contractors - some good, some really bad. And my husband and I agreed that this was a wonderful surprise to have a positive experience when building our new house. From the initial contact with Aaron to the final stone being set in our stone wall by Mark, the job was done on time and in a professional manner. And what impressed us at the end was the neat way they worked (which is kind of hard given that they're working with rocks and dirt) and how they left our yard. I can still walk around my last project and see stumps that were left in piles and parts of the yard that were not final graded. Not so - when Mark left the final day the yard was neatly raked and I was thrilled with the outcome. I even gave Mark a big hug for being a pleasure to work with and building me some beautiful stone walls. So thank you Aaron, Mark, Fred & Justin for a wonderful job installing our septic system and the excavation work. If we're ever crazy enough to build another one, you'll be our first call. We have property in Northern NH that we plan on retiring to in the near future. At present, we live and work, about as far away from NH as you can physically be, which is somewhat stressful when trying to prepare for your future. Aaron has listened to our requests, and has done a magnificent job preparing our land for a spot for the start of our retirement home.
