We first heard about Goodman Construction as we were in the process of purchasing a home in the Valley. Our home inspector recommended Charlie and as it turns out we could not have been more fortunate, both in terms of the recommendation, as well as the decision to work with the Goodman team.

Beginning with our first meeting with Charlie to discuss the project, we knew we would be in good hands. Our initial impression was that he was knowledgeable, dependable and trustworthy, all traits he exhibited continuously throughout the course of our project.

Our project touched just about every area of the house and included a new kitchen, multiple bathrooms and a boot room. The quality of work by the Goodman team was exceptional and exceeded anything we could have expected. Given that out primary residence is out of state, we were pleasantly surprised at how little this impacted our ability to monitor the work being done. The extraordinary level of communication provided by Charlie and team allowed us to see how things were progressing (through daily emailed pics and frequent zoom calls) at every stage of the project. Goodman Construction really sets themselves apart in how they communicate with clients, better than any company with which we’ve ever worked. While this was very beneficial as the project was in progress, it was also very much appreciated at the scheduled start of the job, which coincided with the early days of the pandemic. Knowing that we were working with a long established company during an unprecedented period of uncertainty was very reassuring.

Since completing our project we’ve since recommended Goodman to friends (one turned into a current client) and would not hesitate to do so again. You will not find a better company to work with on a home construction project. There is absolutely nothing we could have asked for more in our experience with Charlie and Goodman Construction.

Could not be happier with our decision to work with Goodman Construction for our new home build. All phases of the project, from planning to punchout, were done in a professional, timely and detail-oriented manner. We had a blast designing the house with Charlie, as he had great suggestions and was incredibly quick to update drawings based on our markups. Charlie is a maniac when it comes to organization and communication, which made the whole project essentially stress-free for us. And the finished product is spectacular - quality construction methods and great finishes all around. We really enjoyed building a relationship with Charlie and the rest of the Goodman crew, and will definitely be using them again in the future!

In 2014 Goodman Construction renovated the downstairs of my house including a new bathroom, expanded kitchen, wood flooring.and interior wall painting. I was very pleased with their work. In 2016 they built a three season large porch and outdoor deck. Again, the work was exceptional and the crew was courteous, professional and skilled. Recently they replaced the mudroom roofing and some rotting wood and installed eight new windows. All these jobs were accomplished in a timely fashion and within the provdided quotes. I would not hesitate to recommend them for any contrucion/renovation projects.

Working Goodman Construction was hands down the best experience we could have asked for in building our garage and apartment. Charlie’s attention to detail, vision of the project, and ability to work with our budget was better than we ever anticipated going into our project. His team of employees are true craftsmen and their level of detail to was excellent. If we were to ever build again he would be the first call we would make! We truly understand now what it means to work with a high end builder. I hope anyone that is thinking about building in the valley talks to him so you can see for yourself who my wife and I had the pleasure of working with. You won’t be disappointed.

Highly recommend Goodman Construction for any new home build, renovations and projects. They did several projects for us that were breathtaking when completed. Charlie and his crew provide excellent suggestions and ideas and will always let you know when your idea may not be in your own best interest, and explain why. We couldn’t be happier with the quality, professionalism and attention to detail they provide. They are timely, honest and reliable, and do what they say they will, always going the extra mile to ensure you are delighted with their work. Cannot recommend Goodman Construction highly enough….I would give 10 stars if I could!

I had written a review years ago about Goodman Construction and the great work that Charlie and his team did for me and continue to this day. Somehow over time, google misplaced my review, but it does not matter as my opinions have not changed.

If you're not from the Valley, it's hard to find someone who doesn't over promise and under deliver. I've met many contractors here that will promise you the stars to get your deposit and then make you wait. When they finally get around to doing your work, its OK but not close to what was promised. I really want to trust people, but unless you're onsite micro managing, chances are someone is going to cut a corner or string you along for another season. That's not Goodman Construction. If you meet these guys, you'll understand what I mean. They're all genuine and it's top down from Charlie and his brothers

Charlie grew up in the valley, went to a prestigious university and worked for a world class commercial construction co all over the US. He gets what customer satisfaction is and the power of word of mouth.

Net it out, smart guys, genuine, honest, and experienced working in the valley.

When we built our house, the requirements were for a ski house for a small family. Big enough to have friends over, but small enough that we could clean up and be out on Sunday easily. I first met Charlie through a friend who was building with him back in 2014.

After many conversations and 100s of drawings, I felt comfortable that I could trust Charlie. We broke ground in 2015 and the project went smoothly, all while we lived in Ma. Charlie sent me updates and pictures, plus we spoke regularly. I even had parts of the project that I wanted to do and Charlie worked around this.

Fast forward to 2021, we've moved into the Valley full time and looking to put on an addition in the near future. We love our house and continue to be a fan of Charlie and his team. Now the challenge is getting onto his schedule, as the word has gotten about them. SO if you're looking for a builder, don't use them until 2023 so I can get on the schedule first :)

The Goodman Team helped us turn our home into our DREAM HOME; work took 3.5 months and was extensive as we did remodeling/refinishing in nearly every room of our house. The project was delivered on-time, as promised, and communication was GREAT throughout.

Charlie and his entire team/family are honest, kind people. They take the extra time to walk you through the things you don't fully understand, and bring a wealth of experience to every single task (big and small).

Literally the best contractors I've ever worked with. They helped me renovate my home in the Mad River Valley, and everything from the communication, expectations around cost and timeframe, to the final results were more than I had even hoped for. Won't ever hesitate to recommend or use Charlie and the Goodman team again! Becky was also fantastic to coordinate with, and the guys who did the work did an awesome job. Thanks again guys!

The Goodman Crew built us a beautiful addition. But more than that, Charlie helped us understand from Day 1 how to realistically take a big dream and right-size it for our budget and timeframe, in order to build a functional and good-looking space, inside and out. You won't find a more honest and personable team. If I could give 6 stars, I would--seriously. Happy to serve as a reference if anyone wants more details.

The Goodman crew completed a full addition on our home that included a mudroom, bathroom, kitchen, dining, and living area. They were incredibly professional. They showed up on time every day for the several months they worked on our addition. They started with design and pricing and saw the project through completion. The project came in on time and on budget. They gave us solid design and material advice along the way. It’s a beautiful space and we’re so happy with it. We plan to do our next phase of home improvements with Goodman Construction! We truly enjoyed getting to know the Goodman guys!

We hired Goodman Construction, Inc. to help us build a garage/workshop/studio space that I envisioned last winter while convalescing from an illness. The entire team was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Charlie worked with us to shape our ideas into a build-able plan, and took care to ensure that we were on the same page every step of the way. I am a highly particular person, and Goodman Construction was respectful, insightful, and helpful throughout the process. Our end design is exactly what I hoped it would be, and I really couldn't be any happier. I especially appreciated how responsive, considerate, neat, and thorough everyone on their team was throughout the building process. We will hope to work with them again in the future. Charlie Goodman and the team at Goodman Construction are 5 stars all around. The communication, organization and over all attentiveness towards their clients is 2nd to none. Charlie’s experience and knowledge is the field shows. I will continue to refer people to them, as their work is superior. Give them a call you will not be disappointed.

Goodman Construction is hands down the most thoroughly organized construction company you could have. Charlie IV, is by far a madman when it comes to getting you plans just like you want it. Not even a wall socket is unscheduled before the first nail hits the post. You couldn't do any better than having Charlie work on your construction project!

Family owned and operated, great group of people who deliver exceptional quality above all else! Definitely go with them if you want the job done right!
