These guys were amazing. From the quick response to my first inquiry to answering my questions after they were finished and everything in between. The price was reasonable and the customer service was great. I haven’t even found a single nail or scrap of shingle in my yard!

We were very happy with the roof and gutters we purchased through Golden Rule Roofing. Doug and Mike were great to interact with. They kept me updated and responded quickly to any questions. Golden Rule is one of just two out of six bidders who inspected inside and the only company to tell us our attic ventilation is fine as is and advised against making cosly and unnecessary changes. They also upgraded several items because they could be improved such as exhaust fan and other venting. They even replaced some rotten siding around the chimney.

We recently had the pleasure of hiring Doug and Mike to replace our roof. When we contacted them they were here to inspect our property within a couple of days. They walked us through the process, set us up with an estimate the same day they came to the house, and had a job portal ready for ease of payment and to track the project. They were able to fit us in ahead of schedule, complete the work in a day, showed us what needed to be done and walked us through the work once it was done. We were so lucky to get a great recommendation from our neighbors who also used Golden Rule Roofing and I would highly recommend them. Golden Rule did an excellent job on my roof, I never knew a roof could be beautiful, but it really is. The price was fair and the communication and the attention to detail that Doug and Mike gave to this project were first class. I would use them again, and again. I reached out to Doug to ask if he could determine the age of our roof for a house my husband and I moved into recently for insurance purposes.

He emailed back and said (as a direct quote) "As you can see, your neighbors have replaced their cedar shingles with composite shingles.

It’s probably the original roof. From Google Earth, it looks old. "

How would he know if my neighbors had shake shingles? In fact, the only neighbor that had shake shingles changed their roof to metal, so he wasn't accurate.

Additionally, how can you tell anything from Google maps?? I know it is not the original roof since the house is from 1928 and the previous owners said the roof was around 10
-15 years old.

When I told him that, he said (another direct quote), "Ok, thanks for the clarification. It sounds like you have your answers."

He didn't offer to come out or really help at all. He just said "In my professional experience, you need a new roof.  That’s an old cedar Shake roof."

I don't need a new roof and I'm not impressed AT ALL with the complete lack of customer service. I will never go here for any roofing needs.

We recently had the pleasure of working with Doug and Mike to replace our leaking roof during peak rain season. From initial scoping to inspection to scheduling and installation, their service was nothing short of exceptional. We got 6 total bids from various companies and are so happy that we decided to go with Golden Rule because of their approach, pricing, and previous reviews!

They were able to work fast in a tight window of time while the rain paused for a couple of days. Golden Rule Roofing has an online portal which added to the overall positive experience. The portal provided a user-friendly platform for communication, updates, billing, and documentation, making it easy for us to stay informed throughout the project.

Their commitment to the golden rule of 'treating others as they would like to be treated' truly shines through in their work. We appreciated that they keep their workers well fed and it was very easy to interact with them at any point during the installation. We've had to do a lot of major projects done on our house and this was easily the best experience we've had.

Nowadays, it's hard to find a company that takes pride in their work.
From the time I met Mike and Doug from Golden Rule for an estimate, to the completion of my roofing job, they provided excellent customer service and communication.
I had my roof replacement scheduled but Mike contacted me and said they had an earlier opening due to good weather, so I took it. I'm glad I did because my roof was already leaking and the forecast showed 5 straight days of rain.

They noticed areas needing plywood replaced that 3 other companies missed.
There's also a section of my roof that takes on a lot of rain water due to the design and slope.
They suggested installing an extra layer of Ice and Water Shield Roofing Underlayment.
I'm so glad they did as I now have additional piece of mind.

I also want to give a shout out to the roofing crew from Golden Rule, they were all very professional. They laid tarp around the entire perimeter and even covered the plants/shrubs during removal of the old asphalt shingles. At the end of each work day, they cleaned up all the debris and made sure the outside was nice and tidy. They used a blower on the deck, walkways, and driveway.

One thing that was provided that nobody else did was an itemized estimate, another reason I chose this company.

I would not hesitate to recommend Golden Rule to any of my friends, family, or neighbors and already have!

We had a fantastic experience with Mike and Doug at Golden Rule and would unequivocally recommend them to friends and family. They were thoughtful, timely, reliable, and their crew did great work. Additionally, they actually helped us with heat management in our house (which gets very hot on warm days because of our skylights—which we needed to replace). They recommended solar blinds which were reasonably priced (and offer a tax credit), and most importantly, they WORK! They significantly reduced the temperature in our hottest rooms, which was much appreciated with a four year old, an infant, and two tired adults in the house. The initial inspection was extremely detail oriented and thorough. When we mentioned we were also getting solar panels, they made sure to know which areas of the roof needed to be extra protected.

Whenever we had any questions, they responded immediately. We always felt heard and understood.

The roof was completed in 2 days - just 22 days after our very first meeting. Gutters & downspouts were installed the following week.

Golden Rule provided a timely bid and were responsive to coordinate the job with. I've used them before, and again they were clean and organized on the job site, making sure everything went smoothly.

I had to have the roof replaced on my rental. I got bids from 3 roofing companies that came highly recommended on the Nextdoor app. One was a no-show so that was easy to rule-out, but the other one and Golden Rule were both excellent. I chose Golden Rule because I felt their price made more sense for the job and Mike and Doug were genuine and personable. They were also very flexible in scheduling given that my tenants are nurses who often sleep during the days. I had to prioritize their schedule and Mike and Doug were really awesome about that and communicated details so I could keep my tenants in the loop. I also appreciated their easy and secure way to pay and communicate. Every step of the process was efficient and made sense. No up-selling, either, which was refreshing. Plus, my new roof is amazing! Bottom line- they are a great roofing company! They just get it done fast and it's a quality product that comes with a warranty. I highly recommend you get an estimate from them.

My project was mainly to prepare our roof for a solar PV system that will cover about half of the roof area on our home. After obtaining bids from three roofing companies recommended by the solar companies I was in discussions with, I decided I wanted a Malarkey roof and Golden Rule R&C to install it. They quoted a competitive price for the best shingles out there imho so I feel we obtained a great value.

Doug completely understood what needed to be done for the solar panels and selected the Malarkey ice & water barrier not just in the roof valleys etc. but also on the roof segments where solar panels will be mounted. He also gave me fully detailed options to consider. Even before I signed the contract Doug & Mike helped me convince my solar company to use a superior rack mounting support system.

And of course I wanted the roof replaced in the middle of the rainy winter. Once I executed the contract and gave them the earliest start date, they started the project during the next break in the weather and made sure the roof was water-tight every night before they left. Mike and/or Doug came to the site every morning to support the crew and communicate with me.

Juan Carlos and his crew showed up at sunrise every day and worked hard until sunset. We could hear them banging away all day long with just a short break for lunch. There was no way they could have completed the project any faster. I wish I had their stamina. They set up tarps all the way around our house and did a terrific job cleaning up the potato chip-sized pieces of old roofing & underlayment that came off the roof.

The change orders were absolute minimum and they helped me beef up support of a sketchily-constructed chimney chase. While it is hard to get excited about a new roof, it looks fantastic as roofs go and I'm very happy to not have to worry about it for 2-3 decades. After completion and days of rain I thoroughly inspected the underside of the roof and even the one wet spot we had going in to the project was dry as a bone.

I highly recommend Golden Rule RC. If you care about competitive pricing, superior products, fair dealing, and high quality craftsmanship, these guys have got to be on your short list.

Mike and Doug were great to work with. They started with an assessment over the phone, then an in person inspection to ensure there would be no surprises. A lot of other companies that I got quotes from were ok trying to just go with the phone quote - but it was important for us for an actual in person visual inspection since our roof was actively leaking.

They quoted a compettive price and were accurate in their assessment (no surprise costs after the install started or finished).

They started when they said they would (actually had an opening a day early) and completed the install on time.

While it was painful to have to replace my roof, Doug and Mike were great to work with. They communicated clearly, explained what they would be doing, and outlined the costs. When a few issues came up (my old solar tubes weren't properly installed), they quickly responded and helped me figure out a solution. I have to say that I don’t normally do reviews, but Golden Rule Roofing and Construction (GRRC) is such a refreshing anomaly in the world of construction that I had to say something. In my 44 years of home ownership that includes many remodels, I have never met a company in the construction industry that is more focused on customer satisfaction than this group. Their crew worked quickly and smoothly and did an outstanding job with cleanup.
Doug and Mike are friendly and fun to talk with and they are entirely focused on making my life as a home-owner as trouble-free as possible with respect to roof replacement. It was evident in the way that they guarantee workmanship that they wanted the whole roof to be trouble free after their work was complete. Their initial inspection went well beyond that of other roofing companies as they inspected the existing roof deck for integrity and checked to make sure the attic ventilation was adequate such that moisture and condensation would not be trapped and cause problems down the road. With their diligent attention to detail and quality I had expected their estimate to be much higher than other roofing companies – but found that was not the case. GRRC stayed true to their quoted estimate and didn’t surprise me with any unanticipated cost overruns. This is truly a pleasurable company to work with.

We had Golden Rule replace our 20-year-old roof in preparation for installation of solar panels. Mike was extremely communicative, friendly, and professional the whole time and the project proceeded on schedule and as far as we can tell, without a hitch. Mike took the time to explain everything and patiently answered all questions. Also, of the 5 or so roofers who bid on the project, he was the only one who not only came onsite (some use just satellite photos) but also went up into our attic to inspect the ventilation conditions. He also provided some special requirements to our solar installer to help maintain the integrity of the roof once the solar equipment was installed. Everything about the project gave us a lot of confidence that things were being handled expertly. Would definitely use them again.

BRAVO! Golden Rule was able to come out within days of my first call to give the most thorough estimate I received. We talked through all possible problems that might come up while on site (additional work, repair of possible damaged areas, etc.) and after receiving the estimate, scheduled a follow up meeting to answer any questions I may have had. They were able to schedule the project within a few weeks. The crew was phenomenal; experienced, professional, on time, efficient, respectful, and boy do they know their stuff. Being faced with the need to replace the roofs of all housing units in our 50-plus-year-old condominium complex was a daunting proposition for our HOA board. Fortunately, one of our board officers was able to endorse Golden Rule Roofing, having worked with them previously.

From the initial inquiry to the final project completion, Golden Rule Roofing provided us with all the elements of a great client experience while getting an excellent finish product.

They weren't the first company that we contacted, but they were the first to respond, and they were actually able to give us a preliminary overview and estimate the same day that we inquired, no other company came close to providing such a timely response. Timelines were very crucial for our newly purchased home and their efforts were greatly appreciated and unmatched.

As a first time home owner, I had many questions about replacing our roof and gutters. I did a lot of research for the best solution for our home. They provided us with several options, and were very personable and honest about what our best options were while weighing the Pros and Cons of each option.

They were understanding of our budget and worked with us to get the best value for our money. And we got a great finished product that exceeded our expectations as a result. They genuinely care about the happiness of their clients, and we greatly appreciated their efforts.

Once we had identified all of our concerns and agreed on what we wanted, we were provided with a very comprehensive clarification of what we could expect at each stage of the process, which we appreciated so much. No pressure, no surprises or oversights. They made the time to sit down (Zoom Meeting) and go over our estimate and explain each individual line item in detail and answer all of our questions. Super transparent, time efficient and reassuring, no gray areas to wonder about.

It's clear that they have real professional experience and company goals to provide the highest level of customer service with customer experience at the forefront of their operations. So refreshing to discover in todays landscape.

Their crew was very friendly and respectful of our home which was also greatly appreciated. They were a head down, hard working crew of really cool guys that were happy to be there. I feel like they were extremely technically proficient and just a great example of a solid, organizationally happy and healthy team.

The previously poorly vented attic and mold issue was effectively resolved by their suggested design to completely modify the venting system, and the attic really performs so much better now! It used to be incredibly hot and damp in the warm summer weather, now its breezy, cool and dry. I feel confident that the air quality is going to be much healthier for us as well as cooler in temperature in the warmer weather.

The Roof looks amazing and probably will for decades to come! The new gutters and gutter guards, as well as the metal roof have already proven to completely out perform the previous design in this recent rainy, windy weather. This thing cranks at shedding and channeling water! We were also surprised at how quiet the metal roof was in heavy rain, no annoying, tinny rain drop sounds whatsoever. The roof feels so solid and secure. At the end of the day, we are very happy with the entire process working with Doug and Mike and the entire team at Golden Rule Roofing. Great company, great products, great service.

Thanks to Golden roll roofing and construction of Seattle, we love our new 30 year roof. It is a gorgeous sleek line and the new skylights with the solar powered blinds add to the value of her home not to mention that it cuts down the heat in the summer. We also had our chimney removed as we are moving into the gas age for the fire place. That crew was great!

Our sales team was a true pleasure to work with. Helpful in giving us enough information and options (we chose the Corning True Definition roof) that would not overwhelm us at the cost that is truly unbeatable.

Doug was always around if we had questions. Working with the roofers to help clean up during the day and making sure the roofers were safe and well hydrated throughout the day.

When the roof was completed, we also had Golden Rule put in new gutter system for us too. That crew was also courteous, clean and efficient.
