DO NOT USE GLACIER- Poor Workmanship Led to Toxic Mold Growth, Evacuation from our Home, Mold Illness, and Huge Financial Consequences

We hired Glacier Roofing & Exteriors to replace our roof in 2018. Because of their poor workmanship (incorrectly installed soffit baffling that blocked every single vent in the attic, among other issues), they created the perfect environment for several types of toxic mold to grow inside our entire attic.

We were forced to evacuate our home 2.5 months ago, and even worse, our 16 year old daughter has been diagnosed with mold toxicity. She has been very sick and growing sicker with a long list of debilitating symptoms, and even had to drop out of school. She is incredibly smart, but she can barely manage her 2 online classes right now.

We have called and emailed Glacier several times, asking to speak with the owner, and he has not replied even once. Apparently we’re past their 3 year warranty, so they seem to have washed their hands of us, even though the roof they installed is directly linked to completely upending our lives.

Their website talks about “Integrity Over Everything” and their mission statement says they were “founded on the principles of doing what is right for others, not for self”, and that they "share a common vision of impeccable service through quality, integrity, compassion, and being community focused in all we do.” I’m not even sure what to say about that. It’s not been our experience at all- to say the least. These are lovely ideals but they are just meaningless words when you don’t live up to them.

Not only have we been dismissed by the company responsible for this situation and displaced from our home, we are also stuck with paying thousands and thousands of dollars for medical bills, another complete roof (the sheathing is totally covered in mold and is a total loss), mold remediation, extensive and detailed cleaning inside the house, and the replacement of the majority of our belongings because they are now covered in dangerous mold spores and mycotoxins.

Insurance won’t even cover anything because they declared that the mold issue was caused by “bad workmanship”, and they don’t cover bad workmanship. (!!) It’s insane. I can’t even describe how stressful and frustrating this has all been.

We STRONGLY recommend that you DO NOT USE Glacier. Find a company that does good work and stands by it.

And if Glacier did do your roof- CHECK YOUR ATTIC FOR MOLD. We don’t want anyone else to go through what we are going through.

It was just a roof. It should have been a straightforward job. But it has completely turned our lives upside down. Find another company.

My roof sustained wind damage, and the first company I hired not only mishandled my claim but also only managed to get partial repairs approved. We had our roof replaced on 10/28/2024 by the Glacier Team after heavy damage inflicted by summer windstorms. These guys are quick, efficient, and serious about getting the job done well. The finished product looks fantastic. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised at the fairly straightforward process of getting approval and funding from our insurance, and how Glacier worked back and forth with our claims adjustor to keep things moving forward in a timely manner. The roof was done in two days with only one return visit to clean out some clogged gutters. 5 stars for a job well done and friendly professional staff!

I would highly recommend Glacier if you are looking to replace your roof. I had three different companies give me an estimate for the replacement. Glacier was the middle of the three bids price wise. What impressed me with Glacier was their employees. I could tell they honestly cared about their business and their customers. When Drew came over to give me an estimate he noticed that there were some missing shingles when he was up on the roof. He came down, got some supplies and went back up and put a temporary patch on the damage. One of the companies that gave me an estimate didn't even go up on my roof at all! The crew stripped and replaced our roof in one day and it looks great. The ladies in the office were awesome also!

From first calling then general reception number through completion of our project, the team at Glacier was an easy pleasure to work with. Drew was our project manager and he was communicative, prompt, thorough, and professional. We had our shingles and a few boards replaced and the entire job was done in two days. The roofing team was friendly and kept the work area as clean as possible during work. They did a phenomenal job of cleaning up afterwards.

We also had gutters and downspouts installed. Glacier works with another company for gutters and Drew managed all communication with them and dropped by during installation to make sure everything was going smoothly.

Drew sent me picture updates throughout the roof and gutter work and checked in with me before doing any additional work (e.g replacing boards). Glacier was competitive with other quotes we got with the HUGE bonus of having a project manager take the headache out of it. He even stopped by to pick up the payment checks from me so I didn’t have to mail them. 10/10

This crew & company did my house roof in one day!! While I don't have a "complicated" roof with a steep pitch or anything I was truly not expecting it to take them only a day.
They worked with our insurance company and adjuster handling all necessary paperwork. Even made sure to document how many layers of shingles were on the roof as that differed from what insurance had stated. I love how much care they take in tarping over your yard while doing the tear off & ensuring all materials are picked up. Very polite, respectful, and they work super fast! Best part was no pushy selling for the job or pressuring me to sign any documents on the initial day of the consult. This was EXTREMELY refreshing as another company kept insisting (even after 4x of saying no final decision would made that day) that an agreement be made before they left...

We were one of the families that were damaged with the hail a couple of years ago. We had contacted Ryan and they did all our our roof damage, Composite, and steel. Everything went smoothly and it looks great. The other day my husband noticed that the guide wire for the electrical stand had come out. I would highly recommend Glacier Roofing & Exteriors. I recently had my roof replaced. The process of finding a contractor was overwhelming. I did a lot of research and reached out to roughly 10 different contractors. Glacier Roofing stood out to me due to the personal nature of the engagement. They were very responsive, were very knowledgeable, and very communicative throughout the entire process. Dave showed up, performed the estimate on the spot, and was the only contractor who proactively and personally took the time to sit down and explain the estimate in simple terms - what he recommended, why he recommended it, pictures to articulate the proposed work, etc. The team was very communicative on what to expect planning for the work and while the work was happening. The team was very fast, minimizing the disruption to our home. After the roof was replaced, they were very responsive to addressing sub-contractor adjustments with our gutters.

These folks are fantastic. I had a small leak over my garage. They were able to pinpoint it and worked exceptionally fast. There was some siding and facia damage also. They matched the paint perfectly and were able to replace those items to make them like new. A great company and outstanding quote which they held to even though there was a bit more work then they thought. It turned into a 2 day fix instead of the one.

We chose Glacier roofing for our roof replacement and couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish everyone involved was fantastic. Would not hesitate to use them again and highly recommend their services. A+

I had a leak in my roof, I spoke with Nate about fixing it. We made an appointment on Tuesday at 10 am. Nate called and said he is behind schedule and will be late, so I asked my work supervisor if I could be late a few hours that day.
After Nate showed up he didn't even look at the leak he realized it's a few hundred dollars, a small fix, so he asked me if I am considering to replace the roof, I said no my roof is still in a very good shape just need to repair the leak. Only then he said he was busy and didn't have time for repairs, which is completely fine with me. My only question is why he didn't say that over the phone before we even made an appointment??

I don't appreciate wasting my time. I will never call them again.

Glacier replaced our storm damaged roof and did a great job. They did a masterful job of working with our stingy insurance company to get the project approved. It turned out looking very nice. Highly recommend.

I am very highly disappointed. We cut a check for a deposit over 2 months ago. We hired them because they said they could start right away. They were rated just as good as the other roofers we met. First week of October came and went we kept getting push back. Last week roof materials were dropped off. We thought it’s about time. But Nope! Now we are being told we have to wait till spring. I will never Referred this company. Now we are out on our deposit and praying our roof does not leak during winter. If we aren’t first on there list for spring. I will report them to the BBB. I don’t appreciate being jerk around. You should never LIE TO GET WORK!

He worked with our insurance directly as an advocate for us. He also recommended the skylight replacement which other estimates didn't include. They were prompt, finished ahead of time despite a large, complex roof system. They cleaned everything up, protected things around the house and hauled everything away after a final sweep for nails. Drew did a fantastic job of assessing the roof damage, getting an additional opinion, evaluating the roof status/damage with the insurance agent and coordinating a repair time that exceeded my expectations. When it came time for the repairs he brought in a crew of men to strip off the old roof and install the new roof all in one day. We were pleasantly shocked and extremely satisfied with the speed and quality of the installation. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

Our project manager (Drew) was very friendly and helpful, and came out to recheck for gaps in the sheeting before we had even agreed to the job. Lots of communication from him at all stages of the project, so we always knew what was going on, even if it was just waiting for materials.

Once the work started (which was actually AHEAD OF SCHEDULE), our subcontractor (Andreas) was also very friendly, worked quickly, and even spent hours cleaning up the debris from removing the old roof…on a SATURDAY.

The new roof looks great, should last for a few decades, and we no longer have to worry about leaks from the previous owner’s attempt to patch things himself.

We would absolutely recommend Glacier to anyone needing a new roof. We already have neighbors who are going to use Glacier and Drew with his awesome team.

They replaced my roof and skylight, showed up early and worked hard every day, got it done in two days with good quality and were good to work with. They were considerate of our plants and were happy to fix any mistakes, coming back quickly to fix one area with a bent panel. Glacier redid a roof on our block that looked great; and they happen to send us a piece in the mail as we were settling with Allstate on our damaged roof. Their good timing turned out to be a great new roof and gutters for us.

They were always quick to get back to me, and their assessment of the roof showed a little more work (including the damaged gutters) than the Allstate adjuster had shown. They submitted their assessment to Allstate, and the original adjuster agreed with their assessment (and admitted he missed some things).

Long story short, we have a great new roof and gutters, all replaced by a team of friendly, punctual workers and managers. I highly recommend Glacier!

We have had a terrible experience so far with the roof on our new house and it has been a long ongoing saga. A friend told me about Glacier so I had them out to look at the roof. Ryan has been awesome ever since. He came out, gave me ideas of how I could handle things, gave me quotes on individual aspects instead of the whole thing so I could decide what I wanted to do, and even came out to tarp my roof, this past week after the windstorm blew off more shingles. They haven't put the roof on yet as it was too late in the year, but at this point I do trust them to do a good job.
I'll update this post once the roof is actually put on come spring.

Glacier was recommended to me by a good friend and I contacted them and they were quick to get back to me. They set up a visit to look at my roof and were very thorough with pictures and documenting the damage to my roof. They worked well with my insurance and were great about keeping me in the loop every step of the way. Once the insurance side was worked out and the roof replacement and ceiling repair started, it went very quickly and the crew worked fast and did a great job. I had neighbors come over and ask for their information because they were so impressed with the crew and the work they did. The only thing that was a bummer is that it rained a lot toward the end of the job and so it was hard to clean up all beads/mess from the roofing job so once things dried up, I had more clean up than I'd like, but they did great removing nails and other materials. I have recommended Glacier to other people. Our roof looks great and no more leaking! I also like the many choices of color for the roof tiles and that it is more environmentally friendly than a lot. Nice to not have to worry about a roof for a long time! Thanks, Glacier!

Very happy with Glacier Property Solutions. After our home suffered wind damage, they worked with my insurance company and then quickly removed the old shingles, installed a new roof, added new gutters and cleaned up excess debris all in less than a week once cleared by my insurance. Very happy!

OUTSTANDING! Got ahold of our insurance company and within a week or two a crew (which was amazing and professional) was working on the roof. They even worked with us to install new fascia boards to replace some of the rotting ones. Have recommended to multiple people and will continue to do so.
