Customer Service (Tina) was great to work with. Job was completed on time and, while I can't actually view the roof/final work due to the height, I trust the job was done properly. If the job quality matches the quality of the customer service, then that is a good thing.

First class operation from start to finish. Estimator showed up with company’s city & state certifications and insurance docs. All material and work items were explained thoroughly. Work was accomplished professionally and on time. Clean up after the job was great, no trash left behind. We are very satisfied with our new roof.

Real smooth work including their handling of the repair of a fascia panel and replacement of a length of gutter. They finished my 1200 ft. within a day and cleaned up all the nails and debris after finishing. Good, helpful communication throughout by the office and crew manager. High grade GAF roof looks great.

We had high winds last week which took some trim off of our house. Called GILPIN roofing who responded quickly and repaired this area in about an hour. Jason there tech did excellent work and I would highly recommend GILPIN roofing if you have a need for roof or trim repair.

Gilpin Roofing! What can I say but, you can’t and won’t find a better team to replace your roof!! I bought a house in VA while I was in Ohio and it of course needed a roof. The first call was to GILPIN! Tina answered (who is the best contact they could have found to help anyone calling! Nice and friendly as she can be. Thought I was speaking to a friend that I had known for years! She got me all set up and handled everything from setting someone up to go out to my new house (which was and is and hour at least from where they normally conduct business) she had someone go out and walk the property and gave me and expert opinion on what I needed. They were dead on the money! Nothing more nothing less. After doing my due diligence I found they again were the best company to go with. Once everything was agreed on they showed up on time and got to work! Jeff, the onsite supervisor was there the whole time and communicated with us the entire day and didn’t skimp on anything. The team got our whole roof replaced in one day! Kinda unheard of I believe! Once the team was finished they cleaned everything like they were never there. No nails anywhere and I never found one after they left! Great job Gilpin! I’ve found the roofing experts forever!! I can’t say enough what a great company and team of people to work with! Due to a recent windstorm, a few shingles fell off our roof, and with a winter storm approaching, we needed the repair done before the snow storm.

Sure we called around, but as we are still relatively new to the area, we needed someone we could trust and rely on, and assist us as quickly as possible at a reasonable cost. We reached out to our realtor, who, without hesitation, recommended Gilpin Roofing.

I called and spoke to Tina, who understood the urgency we felt. They were able to quickly inspect the damage and provided a same day quote, and were here the next day to repair the roof!

Their team member Jason arrived first thing in the morning, which was amazing. After checking the roof and shingles, he went straight to work. We were grateful that the roof was repaired, as the snow began falling a few hrs later!

I recently had my roof replaced by Gilpin Roofing. While not the least expensive, Gilpin was the only contractor that would give me a no strings attached estimate for the work to be performed. Geoff worked with me during the planning process and helped me come up with the best solution for my roof replacement. I chose Gilpin because they had done several of my neighbor's roofs and they were all pleased with the product, they also use GAF products and have Master Certifications in the GAF installation process. During the process there were some hiccups that we had to work through but all was made right by Steve Gilpin. I chose the UHDZ shingle and am very pleased with the quality of the installation, the improvement in curb appeal and knowing that I have a solid roof with a great warranty that I won't have to worry about for a long time. Shout out to Geoff, Jason and the crew for a job well done!

Gilphin roofing were amazing. They came out promptly to give an estimate, then less in 24 hours had a reasonable quote. When the date came for repairs, they arrived promptly and completed the job in no time. Thier customer service is outstanding. Always polite and professional. Will use the again if needed.

I actually contacted Gilpin Roofing in order to have repair work on my slate roof. I found Gilpin on Yelp and was impressed by the reviews. I was especially taken by the one review that had enormously high praise for the contact person who had taken the call by that reviewer. That Gilpin contact was Tina. My house is over 100 years old and we’ve been in it for over 40 years. Over this period we have had numerous companies / contractors here performing all kinds of tasks. From these years of experience and from my prior work experience heading several large divisions, one being our customer service div, I’ve come to know and understand the unique characteristics of outstanding customer service. While many companies boast of having this in reality only a few actually achieve what I consider unparalleled service.

While I was not able to secure service from Gillum, only because they do not handle slate roofs, I was impressed enough by my interaction with the company that I asked to provide this customer review. The simple fact such great service was provided to someone who would not be a customer this time around, consistent with prior reviews, there’s no question about the quality of work and craftsmanship that I would have received. My loss. . But it didn’t end here. Tina requested my contact information in order to do some internal research to find a company that did perform slate roofing repair work. She contacted me later that day with some leads.

For anyone reading this review I can say this. Seldom will you experience this level of service from any organization and although Gilpin will not be performing work for me on this project I will certainly recommend them to my friends and rest assured… if I replace my slate roof (which could happen). it will be Gilpin doing the work.

We experienced a roof leak, and called Gilpin Roofing. Tina had scheduled an inspection for the following morning. Steve Gilpin arrived as scheduled, and inspected our roof. That afternoon Steve had sent us a quote, so we scheduled for the repairs.
Their mechanic Jason arrived, and replaced some shingles after making sure the wood beneath the shingles was in good condition.

He listened to what I wanted and found a plan that fit my goals at a very reasonable price - tens of thousands less than that of a previous estimator. The technicians came early and stayed late to get the job done in a day. They were one of the hardest working teams I have ever employed. When they were finished, other than a beautiful roof, there was no evidence that there had been any work done. I had one minor issue, and the next day Mr. Turner came to the house and personally worked on it a few hours to make everything perfect. No one is paying me to write this. I obtained 4 quotes, all from GAF Master Elite roofers. Prices varied by a factor of two! Gilpin was the least expensive. The crew showed up on time and finished the job that day. They did a great job of protecting shrubs, AC, and everything else that was at risk. The roof and flashing looks great. They also did a great job of cleaning up after the job. I highly recommend Gilpin Roofing.

What can I say? Geoff and the rest of the crew delivered exceptional service. I don’t really ever leave reviews because I feel that they can sometimes be overshadowed by negative comments. However, my wife and I are selling our home and really wanted to have the roof replaced due to its appearance and age. Not only did Gilpin Roofing provide exceptional service, we were able to make the decision on how seamless the process was. They were upfront and honest from the start to the end. They were also super flexible with scheduling and professional with communication, application, and finishing. The final product looks amazing (we did a new roof and gutters). It literally looks like a new house. I'd estimate our old roof was ~25 years old so the new roof/gutters makes the whole house look new. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new roof.

I called a few companies to get the solar tubes off my roof. They had a reasonable estimate and the neighbors recommended them so I hired them

The lady on the phone is extremely pleasant and always kept me informed on times and the schedule.

The guy who came out made my roof looked like the solar tubes weren't ever on there. He also found the reason for the mystery leak on the fascia board! It rained the next day. The work held up. Hire them!!

I reached out to Gilpin Roofing by contact form after a noticed a leak on a Sunday. They called me first thing on Monday morning to schedule an estimate. The owner, Steve, immediately saw the issue and gave me a reasonable quote. They scheduled the repair between all the rain. His roofer was very nice and patiently walked me through what he was doing to fix the issue. He was thorough with the repair and the clean up. Later in the evening, his craftsmanship was put to the test with heavy rain. No more leak! I am happy with their work and their customer service.

Gilpin Roofing Co. is a class act. I have a two story house and a leak developed in the area where the lower part of the house connects to the larger part. I had a couple companies look at it and give me estimates but just didn't seem very confident to me. I then called Gilpin Roofing and the owner of the company came quickly. He told me what he needed to do to look for and fix the leak which involved removing some roofing shingles and vinal siding. He gave me a fair price to do this repair and I signed an agreement with him. The repair took about 3.5 hours and the removed siding was reinstalled and cannot tell it was ever removed. We have had a couple good rains since then and it seems the leak problem has been resolved. I was given a 1 year warranty on the work. If I ever have any other roofing problem or need a new roof, I would call Gilpin Roofing.

Gilpin Roofing is great! I had a shingle repair near the chimney. Tina was very responsive and was able to get me a quote just from a picture of the damage I sent. I was able to schedule the repair for the following week and the technician who came out was very professional, worked quickly, and the quote they gave me stood true. In August 2023 when a tree branch fell and pierced three small holes in our roof which was just installed in April 2023, Gilpin responded quickly and sent Jason out to make the repair. As has always been the case with Jason, he arrived on time (early actually), quickly scoped out the job, and went right to work. In about an hour he was finished, all debris was cleaned up, and he was also kind enough to remove some smaller sticks and branches from the roof. We have used Gilpin for previous roof inspections and repairs and will continue to call them first for any roofing needs in the future!

I recently had the pleasure of working with Gilpin Roofing, and I must say, their services exceeded my expectations in every way. Gilpin Roofing is by far hands down the best contractor I’ve ever dealt with. I had gotten 8 previous estimates on my roof. Not one of them told me I needed to remove old siding on dormers to replace flashing under dormers. Not one of them told me not to have ridge vents installed bc my old house had no soffit vents under roof line. The Gilpin Roofing owner explained that dormers were a huge area of leaking and if I didn’t replace the 20 plus year old flashing it was wasting putting a new roof installation. He also said ridge vents don’t work without soffit vents. He said while they were up their replacing the roof it would be smarter and cheaper to replace 14 year old attic fans on the roof. I work at a large real estate development company and was told that he was 100% correct on all counts! I hired Gilpin and they were reasonably priced. They weren’t the cheapest, but the level of service, quality of installation and the superior manufacturers warranty I received bc of Gilpin’s Master Installer status was a tremendous overall value. When I called a couple months later after the job bc I thought a couple areas needed caulking the owner arranged it to be taken care of immediately. I’ve sent Gilpin Roofing several referrals and all have experienced the same level of great office staff support, a dedicated and honest owner who’s focused on the homeowner’s best interest, and workers who not only do superior work, but go out of their way to make the customer happy. Gilpin Roofing is THE go to roofing company in Hampton Roads in my opinion.
