Genesis Total Exteriors did the windows, siding and painting for our damaged home from the hail storm, We had the best experiences with all the contractors that did the work. All of them had professional presentations, great knowledge, superior quality and the end results were perfect! To add to it all they all cleaned up and placed things back where they were! There were no mistakes or delays! We will be using Genesis Total Exteriors in future projects! Jennifer Shaw was the best project manager!

Jennifer was great. They had a few glitches however they took care of them. I love my roof and the price. Mark the owner was kind as well and I'm located in Elizabeth so they will go anywhere. One last thing, Victoria is prompt and professional. If you want a fair deal this is the company.

If you see this company coming, RUN! In 2022 the hail storm gravy train came rolling through my neighborhood and Genesis turn out to be nothing more than a local version of a storm chaser, in my opinion. They bit of more than they could chew and had some of the worst sub contractors as a result. It started with their roofing contractor. They showed up on day one, spent a few hours ripping off the old roof, came and told me they were at the wrong house and needed to leave. A day went by and I had to call Genesis' incompetent PM, in my opinion, Josh Birney to get his roofers back out to at least cover the exposed decking,(we had a very wet summer) and they did. The next day the roofers sent two guys out that didn't have needed tools. Had to call Josh and complain again. It took their roofers a week to complete a roof on my ranch style home while other homes around me were done in a day and a half at tops. I ended up having four leaks. two of the leaks were fixed by their roofer. They were scheduled to return twice to fix the others but never showed up. I had to get another emergency roofer to fix those leaks, (we had a very wet summer) . The emergency roofer also discovered that these clowns did not replace any of the worn roof boots around pipes and vents and he sealed them for me to prevent new leaks. I'm going to have to reopen the permit and have the issues fixed. The gutter crew was awful as well. They worked about 4hrs a day and complained because they had to drive from Fountain CO. Why take the job them? They over torqued the gutters on the corners causing huge gaps where the drip edge and soffit meet. Ended up with a wasp nest in the attic as a result. The fence crew showed up without warning. Started working on staining the fence without power washing first, (power washing old stain off was in the claim), in an area that was not part of the insurance claim. I told the fence crew the area was wrong. They said Genesis told them they got it covered in supplemental claims but they never did do so they wanted me to pay out of pocket. Luckily the claims adjuster stepped up and covered the cost. The fence crew left permanent stain drips on the sidewalk from my back patio all the way to my driveway because they did not use drop cloths. The window crew was probably the worst. They showed up multiple times with the wrong window of the course of several months and a window that wasn't even on the claim . I was so fed up that I called a left a message for the owner, Mark Schymanski but no reply until I left a written message on their website. He left me a voicemail and the message he left let me know he didn't have a clue of the problem so I did not waste my time responding. I just wanted to be done with these clowns. When the window crew finally got the correct window size and installed it, They informed me that the type of window replaced is shallower than the original and needs about 2/1/2" of drywall to close the gap between the frame and the opening in my home. The drywallers came the next day, did the work but told me they were not hired to finish it so I had to do some sanding, caulk and get matching paint to finish it myself. This was over a years worth of headaches with Genesis! Now The worst part! We referred these clowns to our neighbor and she had nearly identical issues. The owner of Genesis had to come out to her home to address the issues. She ended up with terrible roof leaks and the new roofer had to reopen the permit and correct some serious problems. Genesis contractors also damaged the neighbor lawn on the other side of me and had to pay to fix the issues so three homes were negatively affected by this company. I have a years worth of voicemails and text messages to back up my claims. So please avoid using Genesis for storm damage claims!

I had Genesis insulate and drywall the third bay of my garage and then paint the entire interior of the garage. Great communication and highest quality professional work from start to finish. I'm happy to recommend them and would use them again if needed.

After a few years, things are falling apart. The vanity door was installed they broke the plastic hinge, then covered up poor work manship by using super glue and electrical tape to make do.
A door to the furnace room is peeling away, so that there is a gap on the bottom.
When Genesis finished the work in my basement, I sent an 18, yes 18 page listing of the defective work that Genesis did. The 18 page listing also went to Tom Martin’s, with no response from either of them.
I do not recommend using this company, because of short cuts, shoddy work, and no response when problems pop up.

After you sign a contract with Genesis, their customer service will change entirely. If you can get Genesis to show up to your project (a very big if), the crew will be sub contractors - sometimes with out license. Often, the subcontractors will have no idea or direction of what they are supposed to be doing. Expect ever changing project managers that will not return your calls, emails or texts.

The PM that did show up did parts of the electrical project himself instead of a licensed electrician. My lights now flicker when someone walks across the floor. I could make a list of 20 things like this.

Genesis is my go to place for all of my exterior and interior projects. Great customer service, very experienced and knowledgeable when it comes to all my home improvement projects. Recently had my fence installed. Amazing job

I asked for an estimate for stucco repair. Their estimator Rick B. came almost immediately. That was 7/6/2022. Today, 8/10/2022, six weeks later NO ESTIMATE! He says he has to have his “stucco guy” look at it (apparently Rick can’t estimate so why was he sent?). I suspect the owner isn’t on top of things and at this point there is no way I’d hire this company. I contacted this company based on Tom Martino’s recommendation… so much for his credibility. I left a message for a return call from the owner Mark to discuss the lack of a response. 9/26/22 update: As predicted, Mark did not return my call… seems to be the practice of this company.

Billed for work that wasn't done after a major hailstorm. Had to fight tooth and nail to get basic things, like itemized billing, which proved all the items they billed for and weren't fixed/repaired. Sketchy af. After threats of legal action I was finally delivered a check for the items they billed which weren't actually fixed.

Let's not even get into the weekend where one of the repair people had their 12? year old kid helping them repaint my porch.

Here’s an update from a couple weeks ago. I still have not had someone come out to look at my windows and give me an estimate. Very disappointed!! I’m looking forward to call in to the Tom Martino show to share my experience.

A strong windstorm completely blew out my bedroom window and frame 15 days ago.

I sent an email that day requesting a quote for that window and an estimate to replace all of our windows. I put up 6 mil plastic sheeting for the short term.

After not receiving a response for 4 days I submitted another request and got a call back the same day. (Tuesday)

I explained the situation to the woman I talked to and she let me know I would be hearing from a project manager in the next day or two.

I waited another 8 days and still didn’t get a call until after I submitted another request. The project manager and I spoke on Thursday and made an appointment to meet Saturday the 7th.

He was a very nice man and gave me a little bit of his background over the past 40 years. He let me know he was mostly a roofing and concrete guy so he would have the window specialist contact me to schedule an appointment. Why wasn’t the window guy the one that came out when it was very clear that I was calling about windows?

I’m not blaming him but it certainly seemed like the only reason he came out was to be able to document that he had come out. He stepped about 10 feet into my living room and never further into the house than that to look at my windows. He did not look at the bedroom window that is completely missing.

I’ve always looked forward to using businesses from referrallist.com and my expectations have always been exceeded until now.

Because of the delay in hearing back from Genesis I also have requested quotes from 2 other companies that both responded within 24 hours. I’ll update this once we decide who to hire.

I wouldn't use these RIP offs for anything. There Estimate for stucco around my home was $3000 and I had two others for $1200 an $1500 So much for Tom Martinos referral list. RIP off list is what I think.So unprofessional You just bid yourself out of work and any future projects I have going on in the future.And there Estimate was based off of pictures this is how they conducted business with me.

Genesis communicated with me every step of the way. They did the work on time and on budget. I would use them again.

Great overall experience working with the team at Genesis on a jack and jill bath remodel. I really wanted the project completed on an expedited timeline to be done by the Thanksgiving holiday. They had excellent subcontractors and kept everyone on task. The finished project exceeded my expectations and was completed on time! I would definitely recommend them. Thank you, Genesis!!

I've used Genesis a handful of times over the course of the past 7 years for large projects (painting entire home exterior) to smaller (re-paint interior bathroom and foyer ceiling to small (paint touch-ups, re-staining front door) and each time they've completed the work timely, on-budget, with personable crews and delivering solid end results. I appreciate that they'll take-on the smaller projects when many other similar vendors only want the large jobs. I recommend Genesis!

They where very nice and accommodating to me. I live in a wheelchair and was treated no differently than anyone else. If there is a sale on something it is passed on to the customer.

We had Genesis Total Exteriors replace the roof on our home due to hail damage. Our insurance company was giving us a difficult time and would not approve the claim.

We hired a Public Adjuster, who was able to get the claim approved by Travelers Insurance.

Ron, from Genesis, provided us with a fair quote. They started the job and were done in two days, installing 50 squares of shingles. Genesis used a high quality class 4 hail resistant shingle.

The crew was professional and cleaned up the area completely when the job was finished. Pam, in the office, helped us submit the proper paperwork to both our insurance company and our mortgage company, to expedite the claim.

Overall, I was completely satisfied with the work done by Genesis Total Exteriors and would recommend them highly.

I cannot recommend Genesis Total Exteriors. They painted my house exterior, replaced a door, and replaced gutters. Details I discussed with Chanse were not relayed to the subcontractors doing the work. The subcontractor who painted and replaced the door did a good job.

The job was halted for two months because the door was mis-measured and needed a custom size. The correct door was never ordered. When I called Genesis to follow-up, they offered to do a more costly option within a few weeks at no extra charge.

Our gutters were replaced with smaller sized gutters. One run of gutters used to have two downspouts and now only has one – this run leaks water when it rains heavily which runs onto the outside wall of our fireplace and leaks into the house. Genesis has not addressed this yet.

My neighbor’s house was painted by the same company, missed painting some trim and left trash under her deck. They also did a great job fixing her deck and making it look new again.

This is a mixed review. Overall I think you get what you pay for. I’m lucky I work from home so I could go over details with the sub-contractors so many things were not missed.

*shortly after I posted this review, Genesis reached out to me. They replaced our gutters for the correct size gutter at no charge. The trash was picked up from under my neighbor's deck. I appreciate the steps they have taken to make their mistakes right.

Genesis knocked the ball out of the park on our project! What was a hail claim that required 5 different trades to complete, turned out to be a full blown upgrade for us while working within a very tight budget from the insurance company. My neighbors have even been coming over to say how great everything looks. Not only that, but they helped us navigate the process and negotiate with the insurance company. We didn't pay a cent until work was completed. These guys completely exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend Genesis Total Exteriors.

EDIT--I tried to reach Genesis Total Exteriors via Facebook ,as I've done before. I wanted to ask a question and my messages were BLOCKED. Last summer,there was a misunderstanding and Tom Martino,from KHOW Radio,helped us to work it out.There were a few(expensive) Ham Radio COAX cables-for Elpaso County Police & Fire Communications that were CUT and I am asking Genesis to contact said Crew members,to find out if and why they were cut-- An Elpaso County employee is funding new COAX as well the labor to replace their COAX. Currently--I'm a bit concerned

We had a hail come through our neighborhood and call Genesis to give us an estimate. We loved everything about Genesis from our project manager Bryon, the crew that did our roof was fantastic, the Guys that did our Gutters were top notch, the painter Martin and his crew were great and the office staff who helped with the insurance especially Pam.

What a GREAT EXPERIENCE WE HAD WITH THIS COMPANY!

After the hail storm in august, Genesis was great to respond quickly for mitigation and get the ball rolling on all repairs. They had great communication through out the entire process, and are down to earth hard working people that are easy to talk too. I would highly recommend them to family and friends and use them again myself.

Dave helped us through the whole hail restoration process! They all worked as a team and did a wonderful job, we are very satisfied customers!

Dave did a wonderful job working with our insurance, and took the time to make sure that all the work was completed correctly and around our schedule. I will definitely hire Genisis again if we ever need work on our house in the future. I felt that they were very honest, the prices were great, the work was excellent and their employees were extremely professional.

2019 - These guys are great!!!!! The price was fair and the workers were all very professional! Will Absolutely use again if a project arises.

2021 - Just used Genesis again for painting and as usual they were awesome. These guys work hard and pay attention to detail! Highly recommend!

Genesis was hired to roof our home recently. I hired them because they are on the Tom Martino referral list. Genesis sent their subs to do the work and at no time did they have any foreman from their company checking on the subs. Have some issues now not HAPPY.......

Genesis Total Exteriors did a fantastic job helping us get our home back into shape. The staff they sent out to our home were all friendly and professional.

In October Genesis was contracted to re-stain my house and deck after the recent hailstorm in Colorado. The initial staining was so poor, it required that the painter come out a second time to repaint all the places he missed. It also required that I examine the exterior of the house 3 times during that day while he was working to point out what he was still missing. This was finally repaired to my satisfaction. HOWEVER, the painting crew had broken the wheel off of my barbecue, sprayed the glass window cedar and did something to the dials so that my 70-year-old hands could no longer turn them (they had worked perfectly prior to his intervention). He was able to move the dials. Genesis finally agreed to replace the barbecue. Having been told by both the owner and the salesman that it was ordered, I returned my barbecue replacement check to The Hartford who had stepped in on this issue. To date I have not received the barbecue. In contacting the owner about 4 weeks ago, He stated it might have been backordered; he would check and let me know. I have heard nothing, despite my email communications to him. My white umbrella stand was also painted cedar and I was promised that would be replaced. Nothing. My gray river rock at the entrance to my house is now cedar. I was told by the owner he didn't know where to get any. I told him Home Depot. Nothing. My metal doorsill is 1/2 cedar. I wanted this cleaned off. Nothing. I have placed their remaining 1/2 of the insurance payment in a separate account until these items are dealt with to my satisfaction. The company has sent me an invoice which I told them I would pay when services were completed. Obviously this could be impacting my outstanding credit rating. To date they have already received $3000.
I was treated by the owner, salesman and painter as if I were an ignorant old woman. I have 46 photos of this and a collection of 2 1/2 inch nails found in the driveway after a piece of siding was added.

Update on Genesis Construction experience:
Their employee, Matt, came out today, showing me how to work the new barbecue grill they had given me. He also brought a new umbrella stand which he set up and 2 bags of river rock to replace those that had been over-sprayed cedar. Then he spent a goodly amount of time cleaning off the cedar overspray on the metal doorsill. Amenable and capable.

Genesis construction was great to work with! We had numerous things done from bathroom remodel, new roof, new siding and gutters. They do it all! Mark was awesome to work with and kept us up to date on any changes to schedule, though they did not deviate far from our planned finish date; mostly just waiting on materials that were back ordered. I would highly recommend Genesis construction in Golden for any of your home remodel needs; very professional and excellent quality work!

Genesis has done several projects for me through the years they've done bathrooms, drywall siding and roofing. I would highly recommend them for your construction needs.

This project was an insurance claim roof replacement. From my first meeting with Dave and Noah it was obvious that they were veterans in working with insurance companies and claim adjusters. They set to work documenting items that the initial insurance claim estimate had not included. Because of their diligence, along with good management and a small amount of cash out of pocket, my roof was replaced, damaged siding was upgraded, and the entire exterior was painted. With a few small exceptions, quality of the work and competence of the work crews has been excellent.

Noah has been a real champion. These repairs were sorely needed, and the result is such a blessing. No more squirrels in the attic. No more leaks. And my home is no longer the neighborhood eyesore. Excellent work, Genesis!

We had extensive hail damage. Dave and his team were punctual and professional with quality workmanship. We were very happy with the results.

We recently had Genesis do multiple repairs and painting prior to listing our home for sale. We were on a tight schedule. From exterior woodpecker damage to drywall to painting, all work was completed quickly with great attention to detail by a hard working, thorough crew. Even the local paint store commented to me on how hard working the Genesis crew is. We've had Genesis do multiple jobs for us over the years, both exterior and interior, and we've always been thrilled with the results! Thank you Genesis!!

I have used them for a deck repair recently & it was an excellent job with an amazing crew. I have also used Genesis for many projects (stucco, interior and exterior paint) over the years and they always go above and beyond & are trustworthy and detail oriented.

Over the last 10 years, Genesis has handled our house exterior painting and staining needs. The work is of the highest quality with excellent attention to detail. Recently, Genesis expanded into construction so we tried them on a fence project. Again, the workmanship was excellent and the overall experience stress free. The work crew was polite, knowledable, and did not leave a mess. My wife was very happy.

Great experience using this company; highly recommend. We needed our bathroom redone with weeks to go before expecting a new baby and they were able to get in and get to work without delay. The work was done well and on schedule. Brian was wonderful and saw the whole project through.

I've used them for several projects and Mark has been great to work with. We've had our house painted and it turned out great and ahead of schedule. Called Genesis after the hailstorm in May of 2017. After some tribulation, David Norling got everything sorted out and all work was done to my satisfaction. I now recommend Genesis Total Exteriors. Edit: 3 years later my roof is leaking and siding is falling of the garage. Don't do it.

I went to these guys based on a referral from someone I work with. I saw the bad reviews and I thought that if I had the personal connection with my sales guy, it would be okay. I wanted them to come out and do a full job of roofing my house and then painting it afterward. When it came time to bid the house, the sales guy came right over and did it after hours, even. They were using a product that is not as common in the US, but a top seller in Europe. That didn't bother me and I'm okay with it. We chose the roofing material and discussed how we'd save some of the money from the insurance and apply it to the painting since hail had damaged some paint too. They staged the material at the house and the new roof was on in one day. Wow!! But, how could there be so many extra rolls of flelt left over? They only used one roll on my house and left some of the old up there. Dodgy. Then I began to notice what they call...fish lips in the shingles. This, I was explained, is due to twisting the shingle then nailing it down....like a piece of paper with a wave in it. Again, dodgy. They came out and glued it back down....after weeks of calling them. I haven't heard from then since. They were trying to get a supplemental check to cover damage the adjuster missed. I haven't heard from them in months. Every time I call, I get a sweet run around about something. But, they virtually never follow up and never take the initiative to reach out for an update. It's been since September that I started with this company and it is now December. Roof is on, fish lips glued down and no new paint. Granted, I told them I wouldn't pay them anything until they got information on the supplemental check. Pretty lame in my book. I won't use them again even if I had needed someone to roof my shed or dog house.

DONT BE FOOLED! Slick advertising, subs out nearly all jobs to lowest priced contractor they can find. Good luck getting paid if you work for them. Now as a contractor I'm forced to lean the home I didn't get paid on. I'm assuming the next real review will be from the home owner Bruce! What a scam they will charge $800 at minimum no matter how small the job. Hope you don't need a light bulb changed out.If you shop around I'm sure you can find a more honest company but I can tell you this much, you cant do worse!

Absolutely terrible experience with this company after hiring them for an exterior repair after a major hail storm. This company put me on the back burner immediately after signing the contract. It took 8 months to paint exterior, replace a roof, and replace a garage.

This company is a company that over promises and under delivers.

I would not recommend using this company.

No communication on their part had one appt.for estimate on building a roof over my deck they never showed up made other appt guy came said he needed to bring someone back with him no show no phone call I think if it's not a 25000 or over job your nothing to them

Well, I wish we had had the same experience that the others here on google review have had. We were treated horribly by Genesis and extremely disappointed and surprised at how inconsiderate they were with our time. I took a morning off from work to meet with them. The estimator came out, spent about a 1/2 hour or so taking measurements and asked if he could come back with someone else to look at our deck project. He never did show back up, in fact we didn't hear from him at all until I called him back 3 weeks later, he told me he had been busy and would be out that following Saturday. I agreed to it and told him that I understood about being busy and to please just keep me in the loop and give me realistic time frames so to avoid misunderstandings. He did show up with his subcontractor who was much more informed and comfortable talking about the project of expanding our lower deck, re-doing our upper deck and replacing a sliding glass door. Though it appeared to be on the right track, it wasn't. Again, I waited another 3 weeks and heard nothing. I called the estimator back again, he gave me his same song about to much work and told me that he would be getting together with his sub by the end of the week. After that I called to talk to the owner of Genesis to let him know how we felt as though our time had been wasted and we had in essence been treated as if we were expendable. I spoke with the receptionist, she assured me that the owner cares and that he would call me back to talk. He never did...I think that contractors in general are a very unpredictable group, who seem to lack integrity. I think it is awesome that the other folks who reviewed had such a great experience, sometimes it seems as though this is the contractors way, do some good jobs and be forthright and considerate of the homeowners and at other times (depending on their work load) be inconsiderate and rude. The ability for us consumers to do reviews has turned out to be very insightful, so that is why I decided to do this review. Maybe you will be one of the lucky ones and Genesis will show up the way they did for the others. For us, it was a far different cry. At least we didn't end up doing a project with them where they didn't come through or communicate openly and honestly with us.

We had a roof leak after the drenching rains recently. The owner and his assistant came the next day and quickly assessed the situation. To save us money, they used our materials. I have never had such professional, courteous, efficient, service. I would highly recommend this company. FYI. After heavy rain last night where we live, no leaks. Thank you Genesis Total exteriors. You are awesome!

We had Genesis work with us on our home after a hail storm. They did an excellent job and completed the work as promised with very few issues. When we spoke with them, they had the attitude that the customer is right and they did whatever they needed to make us happy and complete the job.

In addition to the roof, we needed to replace the windows, do some electrical work, and since we were having the windows painted, we figured we would paint the entire interior of the house. David worked with us and the insurance company to maximize our claim, and we loved what we were able to do with the house.

Their paint work was particularly good. Ask for Jesus when having your painting done... he and his crew are great.

I would highly recommend Genesis to those who need work done.

We engaged Genesis to stain our house. We were very pleased with the work that the paint crew did for us. Both David and Luis were punctual, professional, and thorough. The clean up afterwards was meticulous. We decided after the painting was done to add some more and they came right back out within two days to finish. We recommend this company for any painting needs.

Genesis roofing replaced my roof. It was not an easy job as they had to remove multiple layers, replace the decking and work around 4 dogs. Genesis Roofing made sure that everything was cleaned up and looked the same way they found it, except the roof. I no longer have any leaking and the roof looks great. I would recommend Genesis Roofing!
