Roof is leaking. Something wasn't done right with the roof next to the siding. This is the second time I've been having them come out to fix the problem too. It's incredibly difficult to work with them.
I've worked with them one more time since and I think I'm changing my review to one star and suggesting that no one ever work with these people. It's been a horrible, horrible, horrible experience of four months of me calling weekly to get something on the schedule to have someone show up without warning to have them not communicate on what they needed to fix a problem that shouldn't exist because they screwed something up with the initial install of the roof. Yeah, don't work with these people and I'm annoyed that my warranty is attached to them in any way. I'm going to pay them and hopefully never talk to them again.
So, I'll update this with the project to get some accurate reactions to how it's going without me forgetting details.
1. Getting an estimate and scheduling. They were pretty good about it. We picked a time for them to come out and write up an estimate and they do it on the spot. That's worth 5 stars right there. They were also considerate enough to let me schedule late into the year so I could make enough money to get it done this year. That's another 5 stars right there.
2. Setting up a place for materials and the dumpster. About a week ago, they stopped by and I forgot to sign part of a check I wrote them (because I Don't know if I've ever written a check before this). We talked from there about an update on pricing which increased the project about $700 (which I understand since the virus and it's been a few months since the quote was made). Overall, it was a good interaction.
3. Monday the week of the install the materials were brought. Either I miscommunicated or they misunderstood where the materials and dumpster were to go. Frankly, it's not a problem that one of us made a mistake. I'm very ok with mistakes. The materials were placed in the back of our house and the front (we have a Tennant and need the side open for him to drive out). I called early Monday morning after having someone waking us up asking a question - could we move our car to put the dumpster down. Turns out, we don't have a place to park now. I called up Gellings looking for a solution and was met with a "what do you want me to do about it." I got a call back with a follow up, "why did you tell us to put the stuff where you park?" This threw me over the edge and I did get a bit angry with these answers. I don't believe they were trying to make things worse, but they just weren't thoughtful answers to a legitimate problem. Talk through the problem with the customer instead of blaming them. However, one bad touch point hasn't ruined the experience. They were willing to send someone out to move the materials if needed. This situation was just poorly delt with. Enough so where I wanted to leave good feedback to help the company and their future customers.
4. Install - this part went pretty well. Nothing really major happened except they parked the tenant in (which is the same problem from step 3 except I gave up due to the amount of nails on the ground. They worked fast though. Seemed like they knew what they were doing and I will report of any leaks or such problems if that is the case.
5. Cleanup - this is the problematic part. There is a good size oil stain on some of the only concrete in front of our garage, there are a LOT of cigarette butts and a few bottle caps for beer, lots and lots of debris from the wood and shingles they removed (a decent amount on my neighbors lawn and yard), a decent amount of trash from junk food and other bits, and handfuls of nails and razorblades. I've gone through our yard multiple times with a magnet and continue to find handfuls of nails and some more razor blades. (See the pictures for reference - picture are not showing full amounts of nails because I ended up throwing out a lot before I even realized how many there were). Cleanup rating - 2 out of 5. Worst part of the whole process.
