Garcia Roofing - Metairie, LA

Maybe I will be able to change this at some point but almost 6 months in and still dealing with trying to get issues fixed. But It started with the salesman. After approving the job I was unable to get in touch with or receive a response for almost a month just trying to get a time line on when my roof would be installed. But wait it gets better. Finally get word that they are waiting for materials to come in. No problem. Another month or so passes and I get a call saying they will come out to measure so they can get materials ordered???? So on to install day. I have existing gutters on my house and was asked if I would be keeping them. I said yes. They then proceed to install my roof (Metal by the way) overhanging the existing gutters complexly. So after months they finally send a crew to trim back the roof. While doing so they then damage the corner seem caps and just leave. Then after having multiple gutter companies come out to have new gutters installed I am told that 1- Drip edge is so tight against the fascia that they do not feel comfortable installing. and 2- The drip edge they installed is so large that the gutters would be hanging off the bottom on my fascia and may not catch alot of rain during a heavy storm. Have talked to 2 different drip edge manufactures that said it is recommended for the drip edge to have a small gap from fascia to prevent water wicking back underneath it. But was told from Garcia that this was installed to there specs. I guess the amount I spent (also want to add that I didn't haggle about price or anything. Got a quote and said go) wasn't enough to get the good customer service I saw in reviews that I ultimately based my decision to go with them on. And so you know this is going on 6 months

Everyone that I met through Garcia Roofing was punctual and professional. The inspector and project manager were very knowledgeable about their trade, and were incredibly helpful during this process. I am glad that I made the decision to hire Garcia Roofing instead of another company. The crew completed the job in about 9 hours. They were very thorough. They found wood that was rotting and promptly removed it, and patched it. I am very impressed with the quality of work, attention to detail, and materials used for this project.

Garcia was a great company. The project manager donovan was very timely and efficient. He kept me informed and the roof came out great.

I called for an estimate. The inspector came out the next day and they were able to do the repair two days later. Garcia is now my roof company.

Garcia Roofing is a very well run professional company. They were not the cheapest estimate we got but were worth the cost. Communication was great, roof installation quick with no nail guns, all hand nailed. Roof looks great and the follow up by Donovan was appreciated.

Based on the reviews I thought I would get exemplary service from Garcia Roofing. Unfortunately my experience has been less than satisfactory.
I had Garcia install a metal roof on my home.
I had the sales person come out over a month before Ida and he said then that it would be at least 6 weeks before they would get to my roof. I was fine with that. Then Ida hit and it pushed my order back even further, even though we suffered roof damage during Ida.
It took 4 months for them to get to the roof. I was patient and ok with that.
I was told that the roofers would replace any damaged or rotten wood they encountered while installing the roof. They did not.
They nailed into wood that animals had eaten through to enter the roof, they nailed into weather damaged and rotten wood.
I have called several times and even had the warranty inspector come out. He told me to hire a carpenter to fix what should have been repaired by them.
I called back and asked them to send out a repair inspector to assess the situation and was told I would get contact within two days, and nothing.
I am so frustrated and disappointed.
I wish I could recommend because the metal roof is something I've saved for for years, and have been looking forward to it, but its really disappointing that they cut corners and roofed over damaged wood.

I never write reviews but they were extremely helpful. I worked with Edward and they not only help get you what you need but educate you to make the right decision for years to come. So great. We got our house inspected, tarped, and next steps determined in a very efficient and thoughtful manner or.

I have to say dealing with Chris in Sales is a pleasure. He always answered my questions via txt or email and assisted me all the time through the process. Manuel, the Project Manager oversaw the project and was on top of the job and made sure the workers did the job professionally and in a timely manner. He also took care of my questions I had. Garcia was a pleasure to do business with. All personnel was efficient and professional. The managers came out made sure the jobs were completed correctly and to our satisfaction. I would recommend Garcia to everyone that needs roofing work.

We used Garcia roofing for a full roof replacement on a rental property. They were extremely professional and responsive to my questions. It did take a long time to start the project (approximately 7 or 8 weeks) but they tarped the troubled areas in the meantime and once the job was started, it was completed the same day.

As with all things in life a short time on the job revealed prior roofers had lates an additional layer of tarpaper and though it slowed things down Jeffrey and his crew did not flinch and pressed on to give me a wonderful roof. When complete, the few and minor discrepancies I mentioned were promptly and efficiently addressed. In this fallen world we find ourselves in it refreshing to see integrity persevere.

I had five different companies present offers to replace my roof. Darrel Walker who is the sales associate with Garcia made the best impression. He was professional and well versed. I selected Garcia because of my meeting with Darrel. With any major construction or work, challenges presented themselves as expected. Raul Velasquez who is the Onsite Project Manager for Garcia is a true asset to this company. Raul made sure that those challenges were taken care of and the work itself was done in a quality manner. He obviously took great pride in making sure the job was not just done but done properly. I would suggest that Garcia should value Raul and keep eyes on him for future promotions. A company is as good as their employees. My roof looks great and I have already referred Garcia to some friends.

Garcia soft wash crew did an excellent job in restoring my roof to its original state. When I first talked to the Garcia roofing inspector he told me that my roof was in excellent shape but suggested that it could use a cleaning to restore it to it’s original state that it was in when they first installed the shingles. I looked at him and didn’t believe him. I said to myself that it’s impossible to get back to the original look. We then agreed that if I was not satisfied that he would refund me the cost they charged for the wash. I agreed thinking that there’s no way it will happen so I agreed. The discoloration and mildew and algae was horrible. The shingles had started to look horrible. Well Garcia was right. I am truly amazed. They lived up to their promise. I am stunned at the results. My roof looks like it was just installed but my shingles were installed 17 years ago. They were able to bring my architectural shingles back to its original beauty. I am shocked at the results. Looks brand new now. I am thrilled and so happy and pleased with the results. You have to see it for yourself to believe it. I went in with the algae and discoloration on my roof expecting to get a refund when they finished but I feel now that it was worth every penny to let them clean my roof and restore my shingles to its original look. It’s a miracle what they were able to do. Try it and I can assure you that you will be stunned and very amazed with the results. Garcia made a believer out of me and I am normally a skeptic about certain things. I tell everybody about Garcia now. Thanks to Garcia my home have a beautiful curb appeal again. Garcia have my permission to show the before and after pictures of my shingles. Garcia did repair work to stop leaks around my vent pipes and heat stacks. Had to come out a few times to get the leaks on the heat stacks resolved, but very pleased with their work. Some under-deliver or over-deliver and over-charge for more than needed, but Garcia delivers what you need! Thanks to all the workers and friendly office staff!!

Garcia was quick to come out and give us a quote. They explained all the options and helped get to a price point that worked for us. They reroofed the house and the flat roof porch. In the process, they replaced any rotten wood that they discovered. The job was completed within 3 days (2 days on repair and 1 day reroofing). After the job, the project manager walked out the work with us and even crawled around in the hot attic to verify that all the leaks were repaired. If they missed anything, we have a two year guarantee on the work. I would definitely recommend them for a quality roofing job.

Garcia had the manpower, the talented craftsmen, the equipment with superior work methods to do the work quickly and neatly.
Led by the Project Manager "Frank Rosa" all our questions and needs were addressed and handled professionally.
( When we had a mishap of someone stepping through the ceiling this was repaired perfectly in 3 days .)
Frank was always easy to speak with and around. He gave us great service during the project.
Two lead associates, Misters Silvio and Juan are excellent with their work,
Juan a fantastic roofing contractor and Silvio a master finish carpenter.

If I had to review Frank and the roofing crew alone, I’d give this company a five star review. Frank is very professional and extremely knowledgeable. The installation crew was courteous, swift, and very precise in their labor. However, I took away a star because the representative needs to improve. He was incorrect in his initial installation process recommendation and the quote, he issued a vastly incorrect time frame for the installation date, he was not prompt in communicating, and he was a no show for a promised arrival date for contract adjustments. I would work with the company again based on the beautiful work of the crew and Frank’s professionalism; however, I’d request a different representative. -Mrs. V. Chandler

We use Garcia for all our roofing needs. Prompt service. They quickly call back when I have a question. The crew keeps work area clean at all times. Very nice. Garcia uses Owens Corning Shingles which have great colors, great looks and are long lasting.

Garcia Roofing is so professional. We received an email with the sales person’s picture before he showed up which is great from a safety perspective. Had contacted some other roofing companies and all failed to follow up and schedule a visit. Called Garcia and they had an opening and came the same day!
The people in the office were very nice. The man who gave us our free estimate was knowledgeable and answered every question to our satisfaction. The price quoted was quite reasonable.
When the worker came the next week to fix our roof, he did a great job and went extra mile to address our concerns, including cleaning up after himself.
Our issue was a leak around a roof pipe. We had a very hard rain since the repair and there is no longer a leak. Dry as a bone!

So far so good. Roof was put on this week. The process of the estimate, the work and the follow up has been easy and quick. The roof looks great and was done in one day. Terrible experience all the way through. The salesman David Winge said Garcia roofing was the highest quality company and hand nailed every shingle with six nails, so I went with them even though they were one of the higher priced companies. If this was true then it would have been a great experience. That’s where the plesentrys ended.

First we were told to write a postdated check to “hold our place” until the insurance checks were deposited, instead they deposited the postdated check the next day. That should have been a sign of things to come and I should have walked then.

David then assured me it was a small accounting error and promised a credit for the trouble, so I kept going. I was told the job would be completed in one day. I asked that our flower beds and water fountain be covered. I was told that wouldn’t be a problem. I was also promised an English speaking rep on site to voice concerns.

When the crew got there I was immediately told it would be two days. Afterward told me they had nothing to cover flowerbeds etc. with. I lent them my tarps and helped them cover the areas I was concerned withThe rep who was supposed to be the go between hadn’t shown up yet and the dumpster that was supposed to be there wasn’t so they threw the stripped material in my yard.

When the rep got there with tarps after the roof was mostly stripped, I showed him how a few of the materials that were supposed to be ordered weren’t there. He went to go get those missing items and that was the last time I saw him over the course of the two days. He didn’t even get everything needed to complete the job in the end and the crew just used the stuff that was suposed to be replaced and painted it!

The crew then roughly comunicated they had no screw gun to take the satellite off of the roof. I thought I was offering the use of mine but they pointed to the roof and were motioning me to do it for them. I thought that was strange. I reluctantly climbed on the roof and did it for them.

Then things got really bad, the crew barely finished a third of the roof on the first day and told me they would bring an additional guy the next morning.

The one thing they did do was hand nail every shingle with six nails. That’s all that was good. They did sloppy work with crooked caps and extremely uneven valleys. I also observed them cutting the underlayment short and using small cuts of scrap as ineffective improperly installed patches. We also discovered that the underlayment was tucked under the drip edge!! This could be prevented by googling “roofing basics”. The water was then poised to flow into the new decking! The site rep Darren never showed up to see the final result.

When I complained, he tried to tell me that’s what it was supposed to look like. After talking with David the sales rep he at least agreed that the work was unacceptable and should be re done in the areas I was concerned with.

A new crew came out to fix the roof that had just been installed. They were much much better! But it was still like pulling teeth to get them to address all of the issues. After two more days of work on my roof (all the while my poor wife was inside with our infant daughter not able to nap for four days instead of the one as promised).

I do have to say that the roof looks good. It should have never taken as much effort as it did. Now I have a repaired brand new roof! This won’t last as long as one put on correctly the first time. Some of the caps were broken when repairs were being done so now my brand new roof has shingles that are broken and glued together. I’m so disappointed with this company.

Of course at the end of this fiasco the billing was wrong. Amazing! There was even more that I didn’t include in this novel, cause I’ll be surprised if anyone actually gets to the end of this review!

The long short is RUN AWAY! Btw they say they have a Metairie address and a mandeville address, they don’t...par for the course!

Garcia Roofing and Sheet Metal recently replaced not only my personal roof in Madisonville but also my commercial roof in Metairie. My roof at my office has been leaking off and on for years and NO ONE has been able to fix the problem except charge me a million dollars for a new roof. Garcia came out, gave us numerous options and had the entire roof replaced in less than 2 weeks (6,000 square foot building). They advised we use a Gaco coating, must more cost efficient and will last a lot longer. I highly recommend this company not only for your personal roofing repairs or new construction but for commercial needs as well!
