He clearly explained every step, kept us informed throughout, and managed the entire process with professionalism and care.

The crew took care of everything — damage removal, drying, drywall, repainting. John even met with my insurance agent to let him into the property when I and my tenant couldn’t, reinstalled an access panel, helped me coordinate with our plumber and tenant, and fixed a small flooring issue.

Flood Smart was one of the companies that I had look at the water damage mitigation in my basement and I was very pleased with the entirety of the services. Right away, John assured me that he would be the middle person between me and the Insurance company. John knew all the industry terms and I felt reassured of his abilities. The work was done very well and if there was an issue, John saw to it that it was taken care of promptly.

John also provided a lot of suggestions from his experience on what to do after water damage remediation and I appreciated his advice. For instance, even though I originally had carpet, I went with LVP for the flooring from his recommendations and I was very pleased of the results. John is very friendly and I highly recommend asking for him specifically.

Made a total nightmare easy to handle. My new to me townhouse flooded, and Flood Smart immediately answered my call. John came out the day of the flood, and the team immediately got to work repairing the damages. He was able to get the house looking absolutely perfect, and was great about remembering small changes I wanted made (changing a cabinet, etc) and making sure the new appliances were just what I wanted. I literally handed over the keys and trusted Flood Smart to get it done, and the house is PERFECT now. In addition, the insurance payments were delayed due to the mortgage company's shenanigans, but John and Flood Smart were super patient throughout all the drama and helped me make sure I got paid as quickly as possible. I can't recommend their services enough - hopefully my house won't flood again, but if it does then I will absolutely call Flood Smart again!

John, Mitigation Specialist & Project Manager, bailed me out in July 2019 and September 2020. He was very responsive when he had many demands on his company's services; returned multiple times; and completed the jobs on time and at the A+ level. I would use him again and recommend his company to anyone with water/flood damage.

My basement flooded in the July 8 downpour. Flood Smart had someone over the to the house in less than an hour and had a full work crew in the basement in three hours. I cannot say enough good things about John and Gabe. We experienced water issues last May, after experiencing an unusually wet Spring. All of the mitigation and restoration companies we contacted were booked and flat out told us to call elsewhere. We found Flood Smart through a Google search and even though they were just as busy, John sat on the phone with us and told us what we could do to prevent a bad situation from becoming worse until he could make it out to our house.

John and his team were professional, courteous and considerate. He provided sound advise throughout the mitigation process, always having our best interests at heart. When we ran into an unfortunate situation with a waterproofing contractor, John was there every step of the way making sure we were educated and weren’t being taken advantage of. I can’t count the number of times John stopped by to check on things or answer questions/address our concerns.

When it came time for restoration, he encouraged us to get multiple quotes so we’d be comfortable and familiar with what the project would cost, how long it would take and what it would entail. We ultimately went with John and Gabe, it was a no-brainer! After going through so much during the waterproofing process, it was important to us to go with a company we trusted and could rely on.

John worked with us to put a solid design plan in place, which included upgrading our flooring and walls (from wood panel to dry wall). Working with Gabe during the restoration process was by far the best experience we’ve had while working with a contractor. Gabe was meticulous and our basement turned out better than we could’ve imagined. He worked his butt off and met our very (very) high expectations.

My garden hose completely froze over and water was coming into my basement for I dont even know how long.  Having never dealt with something like this I looked for a water damage company close to my place in Alexandria.
