Ric and his fellows Ward and John are so great and helpful in addressing my roof problems. Ric impresses me as a very responsible and kind person and he is much willing to communicate with me and take into consideration my all concerns and budget plans. He tries his best to help me to do the best things within my budget. And even when he was outside of the town, he still managed to arrange his guys to come to my place to check the roof and address the problems in a very timely manner. When he returned from his trip he took it as his first thing to come over in person. He is the best roof expert I have ever met and heard of. Flat Roofing BC repaired the roof on my mobile home and fixed a leak on the back porch roof. They did an excellent job. Rick was prompt, professional and knowledgeable. The workmen were non-intrusive, efficient and timely. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone needing a roofer.

Rick and his team are excellent to deal with and very knowledgeable. They redid the flat roof of my home in South Surrey. Not knowing what was involved I asked them to do some extra work that I thought was needed, and where he would have made more money doing it, but he told me I didn't need to waste my money as it wouldn't be a benefit to the project. Most people would say okay and take the money. This speaks to integrity. They came and went doing a clean and perfect job. The team were professional and organized and the job looks fantastic. Rick (and Warden) have afforded me a peace of mind that I desperately needed.
I had planned on having my very old flat roof tended to this year, however due to a series of unfortunate events my roofing budget got diverted to other repairs that had to take priority.
In other words, I didn’t have the money to properly repair the roof.
Rick came over the day after I had contacted him to inspect the roof and took the time to explain all the problem areas and possible remedies for each area. He did this knowing that I wouldn’t be able to finance this endeavour until I was able to replenish my budget which could take several months, and yet still explained the issues in such a way that I knew what to look for (or avoid) if I decided to go with a different company.
Rick was very straightforward in the services they provide
(aka: they do quality work that they guarantee, and they don't do cheap patch work). Nevertheless, he was able to offer me a temporary remedy to get me through these winter months as to not exacerbate my problems further, which I couldn’t be more grateful for.
Special thanks to Warden who came on short notice thanks to nice to weather and sealed up all the gaps where the leaks were originating from. The first day he came, I happened to be home and he made sure to give me a play-by-play on everything he was doing. The second day, I couldn’t be there and he got the job done without causing any inconvenience to me at all while keeping me posted by text message. He even made sure any debris from the roof that landed on the patio or pavement around the house was cleaned up before he left!!!

Warden and Rick are dedicated, honest, responsible and skilled at what they do. Warden stopped the leak, and worked diligently and meticulously to provide us with a beautiful new roof. So great for our roof top patio and love the twenty year warranty that goes with the house.

Rick is just an awesome person to deal with. Got a quote from him 4 months ago and decided to follow through with it. He still honors the quote and even did some extra work. He did a thorough walk through with me, explaining in detail the workscope that was needed. The job requires a couple of days but got a whole crew together and got it done for us within 2 days. Afterward, he did another walk through to ensure that all the things listed on the quote were done and done properly. Then to top it off, he didn't leave any mess at all for me to clean up.

Gotta say, you won't find anybody more courteous or have such good work ethic. You get what you pay for.

We purchased a commercial property with a poor-condition flat roof in last summer. Multiple units started to have leaky problems at the very beginning of the rainy season. We decided to engage a professional roofing company for a full repair before winter. More than 3 companies came on site for an assessment. Some took a 15 minutes tour, some took longer, Rick and Warden were on the roof for about an hour and came down with detailed explanation and supporting photos. Then they gave us a reasonable quotation within our required timeline.

After talking to a couple roofers, we started to understand how poor our roof’s condition was. But since our property may be subject to redevelopment, redoing the roof was not our preference. Among all the contacted roofers, Rick was the only one coming up with a repair solution. He listened to our needs and used his professionalism to help us achieve it.

The process of working with Rick was smooth and every step was predictable, because he was responsive and communicative. I was never once on the roof, but I knew where we were at the whole time. The permanent repair was weather dependent, they were engaged during the rain season, so the project took a couple months. However, Rick and his guys were only one call away from temporary fixing. We could not thank them enough.

Our project just completed last week, but we have not heard about any leaky problems from tenants for more than a month and hundreds of completed project photos were shared with us. We are in Rancouver, we know when our roof has any problems. Besides, the project is under Flat Roofing B.C’s warranty. We feel confident about our roof now.

The flat roof on our 6 year old house was already beginning to fail due to delamination. We did not want to deal with the original roofer for obvious reasons, so we called Rick at Flat Roofing BC. Rick gave us several options and described the cost and benefits of each. We have heard of many home and condo owners paying up to $250,000 to repair their home due to water leaks, so we opted for the best solution - a liquid membrane with a 20 year manufacturer's gaurantee. Yes, it was the most expensive solution, but it was a small fraction of the cost of repairing the damage due to a leaky roof. Our coastal area has both extreme heat and long wet periods. Traditional roofing materials are simply not suitable for either condition. Rick and his crew did an impecable job, and we are very pleased. They were always prompt and professional, and creative brainstorming has resolved water issues in other areas of our home. The cheerful and friendly nature of the entire team has made it a pleasure to work with them. We would not hesitate to recommend Flat Roofing BC.
An update for August 2023: Our roof has been watertight and looks like new since Rick and his crew installed the Sikalastic membrane. Before we bought this house, someone had installed a roof patch over one of the roof drains with no explation why. Our roof is made of reinforced concrete and we didn't want to open up the drain up until we knew how the drain was constructed. After some research, we decided to remove the roof patch and have Nu-Flow line the drain pipe with a two-part epoxy to ensure there were no leaks in the pipe. Flat Roofing then returned to repair the joint between the roof and the drain pipe. We have only had one rainy day since then, but the roof and drain are water tight. As before, we can only say great things about Rick and his crew. They are knowledgeable, always on-time, and efficient.

We recently had some roof damage due to a racoon which left our house at high risk of interior water damage. After phoning several roofers that offered emergency repair, Rick at Flat Roofing was the only one to step up quickly to both provide a temporary patch prior to any rain, he also was able to permanently repair the damage within days. I am very pleased with the work that was done on my roof. The workmanship was very good, and they were incredibly quick and responsive right from my initial call to them. But, the main thing that gets 5 stars from me was their service AFTER the job was done. Anyone can do good work when they are hoping to get paid, but what about after the money has already changed hands? This is where they excelled in my mind. I had one small follow-up item that needed addressing, and they were at my house within an hour of me calling that morning. They took care of that item immediately and checked in with me the next week to ensure everything was to standard.

I'd choose them again for myself based on their quality of work, but even more importantly I'd recommend them to anyone who cares to listen because of their service after the fact.

My experience with this company was great. They are very professional and honest. If you need any roofing repair or replacement I strongly recommend this company. I had an emergency repair and they were very prompt and efficient and the cost was reasonable. I asked for a quote to renew the complete roof and Rick was honest and explained I still had some life in the existing structure and he was right; it hasn't leaked since. When it is time to get the work done this is the company I want to do the work.

My old tar and gravel roof over my living room sprung a leak a little after 10 at night, just a few drops to start. Called a few repair companies and was greeted by an answering machine. By this time the few drips had turned into light steam of water filling a small pail in about 20 minutes. Now it looks like I'm going to be up all night empting pails. I continued to look on line for a repair company and came across Flatroofing BC . They answered the phone and were at my place in less than an hour. They did a temporary repair that stopped the leak quite quickly, allowing me to get some sleep before work. they came back 5 days later when the weather cleared up and did a permanent repair. It has been a couple of weeks since the fixed my roof and we have had few good rain falls since and my living room is nice and dry.
Thank big time. You saved me from having a lot of water damage by responding and coming out in the middle of the night.
