Very happy with First Rate. We had our AC installed by Desert Sun, when 1st rate took over we were so pleasantly surprised that we had the very same service and expertise. Maybe just a name change? Nevertheless we love 1st Rate, happy customers for many years!

They were the first company to reply when I put calls out for help for a swamp cooler that had stopped working. The techs arrived at the designated time and got the part replaced quickly, which was much appreciated in the summer heat! I've already put their number in my phone in case we need them again!

The technician was friendly and knowledgeable and able to communicate what my problems were and what it would take to fix it and then fixed it in short order

Tech was knowledgeable, personable, friendly, respectable, and knew what he was doing and was able to explain it in clear terms in clear terms.

80$ for an estimate... Apparently no one does free estimates on additions. Sad.

Edit: They immediately called and apologized for the error, asked for the blueprints and immediately started working on a estimate for me.

2nd edit. After waiting a week for them to come look at the job. It's an addition on my back porch. A studio apartment for my mentally disabled niece. All that needs to be done is a shower drain, a sink drain, and hot/cold for a bathroom sink a kitchen sink and the shower. Then a tie-in for a macerating toilet. Very very easy work. I've even already dug out the ground to tie into the existing 2" drain... I guess they couldn't make a ton of money off me because they "declined to give me a bid"

Julian was professional, friendly, and informative. I really appreciated him coming out at 8:30 pm to fix my cooler. He communicated what he was doing every step of the way. He educated me on the issues my cooler was had and how much it would cost to repair. I would absolutely recommend his services.

I was pleasantly surprised when I called and was able to get a same day appointment! I knew who to expect and a small window of time to expect them. They arrived a little early and were easily able to do the job quickly. They gave me their opinion and let me make the choice of what I wanted done. They were quick and courteous. I was very happy with everything, from my call to the company to when they left my house.

They were able to make it out to my house within a few hours on a Saturday during a heatwave when my AC went out. They were up front about the upcharge for the weekend service but even so, the price was reasonable since they were able to find and fix the issue quickly. They also gave us tips about what we can do to make sure our system keeps running well since it's a 20 year old system.

Julian Mayo did my AC repair he was great! Very professional, kind and efficient. He also got Sal one of the plumbers to come right over to fix a clogged toilet and he did great too!

Thank you so much for rescuing me from a failed swamp cooler pump when the air temps were over 100F. Julian was fantastic, providing photos and short movie of the work that was done.

They got the install done faster than I thought and were thorough, checking the entire unit before leaving. I was very pleased with how efficient they were. They knew what they were doing and placed the ladder so it didn't damage my gutters or my new metal roof!

New to New Mexico and already had some bad experiences with plumbers, but today changed that. I called yesterday for help with a leak and Patrick was here by 1pm-ish today. Very quick response time from First Rate. Very happy with Patrick/First Rate and will continue to use them as plumbing needs arise. I have been a customer of First Rate for many years. Always excellent service. Julian came out today to check on our A/C unit. He is the utmost in professional. He has serviced our unit in the past and he is just like family. This is what makes First Rate great, employees like Julian.

I’ve been using First Rate for years now. Everyone is always very friendly and happy to answer questions. The technician, Julian, who came out today to switch over my swamp cooler was very helpful. After years of a swamp cooler, I trust them enough to switch over to an actual AC unit.

Great service. Very knowledgeable and friendly technicians. We were having a new tankless water heater put in a new house we were buying, and needed a repair in our heating system at our other house. The techs always came when they said they would be there, even did a little extra for us at one house, explained how everything worked, and cleaned up any mess they made. I would recommend First Rate Plumbing and heating for any jobs you need done. Patrick and James were great.

Great service. Patrick is always on time, gets the job done, spends time reviewing what he did and briefly reviews the warranty.

Patrick came out to my house after two other plumbing companies had already come out and failed to fix the issue. He took my concerns seriously and spent a long time thoroughly diagnosing the problem, eventually he discovered a significant leak in my external water supply. Within two days he and his team came out, fixed the problem, and did an absolutely incredible job. They've gained a customer for life.

James was awesome in his professionalism and ability. He deterned the problem quickly and repaired it within an hour. I would call and request him again the next time I have an A/C issue (hopefully not too soon).

WWe called First Rate again after the great job they did last time installing a new water heater. Sam was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. He found and fixed the problem quickly. We will definitely continue to use them in the future.

Kevin serviced my neighbors HVAC unit for me by repairing the fan, charging the unit with coolant and replacing the motor. I am very happy that they did such a wonderful job.

I saw a article on First Rate in the paper, yes a print version , and decided to try them for my A/C and heating system. I liked their website and scheduling was very painless. They called me within one hour after placing the request online. Communication with the service call was "First Rate". They kept my updated with texts and email every step of the way. The tech, James, was very professional,
courteous, and informative He took pictures of everything he did for possible later reference and to show the work was actually done. I would definitely recommend this company and will use them again .

Jake and the First Rate Team did an absolutely phenomenal job on my full house re-pipe job. They scheduled me quickly, gave me a fair price, and had their team continuously working until my house was finished. They were also very clean and took the time to be as non-intrusive as possible. I highly recommend them!

My mother has radiant heat and when it stopped working 1st Rate answered the phone and put us on the schedule. Leedro was their technician and was very good at his job.

Called First Rate Plumbing and they sent out Julian. The rooftop furnace was not firing up. Julian quickly diagnosed the unit and found that it had a bad spark module. He was prompt, professional, and did a great job. The unit was fixed same day and back up and running.

I've used First Rate Plumbing on my HVAC for many years. I find them reliable and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them.

Customer service was very attentive and good communication in installing my new furnace. The furnace heats the house much faster than the old furnace although when the furnace starts up and runs the fan is very very loud. It's difficult to hear the TV, stereo or have a conversation.

This swamp cooler visit turned out fine. The technician found a couple of components that will need replacement, but that's for another day.

First Rate came to my home to check why my heater would not function. He ascertained pretty quickly that it was my thermostat. He replaced it. It took approximately 1.5 hrs, I being generous here, even with going to the store to buy electrical cord. The total cost was over $700.00, - Almost $300 for thermostat, $300 to install, $85.00 for store run and the rest taxes. I just feel that was a little too high. I found the exact same thermostat on Amazon for $122.
By the way the Technician was very good and professional.

Nice young man showed up on time, after calling to confirm. The company had previously sent an email with his photo, so we knew who to expect. The call was for our regular autumn service check of the furnace and there were no issues. We are annual “club members” with First Rate, so there was no fee this time.
