Bought a vehicle from out of state.
Had to go directly to the junk yard.

There weren’t enough parts that weren’t broken on it to even take it to the parts yard. Lost nearly 10k. Would have cost another 4k+ just to make the vehicle legal for registration.

5 stars are not enough. Our family was passing through when our vehicle lost system communications. Carla & Cole were very accommodating & determined to locate/fix the issue. Within a few short hours they found the problem, fixed it & got us right back on the road. We were an hour and a half into our 12 hour drive home when my husbands 2023 Silverado started leaking coolant. I am not exaggerating when I tell you this was the BEST costumer service we have ever had, I mean it. (And my husband works at a Chevy dealer).
The service department went absolutely above and beyond to help us out. These guys did not give up on trying to fix the issue at hand and make sure we got back on the road in our own vehicle. Everyone from sales to service went above and beyond, and put up with my 2 year olds melt downs when nap time came. We cannot thank you all enough at Family for helping us get home safely!
We love a small town dealership, if you’re in the market for a new vehicle or needing service I highly suggest Family!

I do not know where to start but our car broke down driving home to Texas and we ended up choosing to buy a new car. Tom and his entire team went further than I’ve ever had a dealership go. We stayed in town 4 days waiting to see about our old car and finally decided it’s time to make a decision to get home. They went to our motel, brought all our belongings and let us basically live in their waiting room with our 3 kids for the entire day. They let me cry and take my time asking one million and two questions. They laughed with me and made sure I was ok through all the 5 stages of stress I experienced. They let my kids make and east sandwiches, put the tv on whatever they wanted to watch, etc. They let me triple check my old car to make sure everything swapped over and let us pack back up. Daniel, Tom and Carla carried all our luggage and belongings into the my new car. They helped us with switching everything from SC to TX. Simply put they did more than above and beyond. They were patient and kind and I know I wasn’t easy to deal with in my emotions. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. A trip to remember!! The Pomroys appreciate you!

Family Chevy came to our rescue when we broke down on the way to the Gator Bowl yesterday. Not only did they do a great job fixing our car promptly, but they also sent a car to pick up our family from the side of I-95 as our car had to be towed to their shop. All and all it was only a two and a half hour delay in our trip. The traffic further south however, that’s another story. Thanks again to all the kind folks at Family Chevrolet and GMC for going above and beyond.

Our purchase of a 2022 Colorado was very pleasant and professional experience. The salesman ( Tom Robinson ) and MR. J. Marion Clayton ( Manager ) made the process of negotiation our trade in price and purchase price a very pleasant , friendly no games experience . The office lady that handled the paper work made sure we had everything we needed ,we live in North Carolina but bought South Carolina She made phone calls to make the paper work and license plate transfer was a easy process for us . What an AMAZING experience. I have nothing but exceptional things to say about this dealership especially Tom. From talking to him on the phone to in person he was super helpful. I live in Florida and Tom went out of his way to work out a deal with me through the phone, talked to me along every step of the way and even had someone pick me up at my hotel 45 minutes away. Talk about some amazing customer service. Tom at no time tried to upsell in any matter or tried to cover up fees like some dealers do. If I could buy my cars from Tom for the rest of my life I would...seriously he is the man. Do not hesitate to buy your next car from him. Thank you again Tom for everything you did for me!

Very informative regarding new features on the car. Took plenty of time to explain in detail. Dealership is a little out of the way, but well worth the drive considering price, courteous service, etc. I have personally bought at least 8 cars from this dealership and have never been disappointed in the service or willingness to provide the service I need. It's well worth a little drive out to the country!

Family Chevrolet in St George was the most pleasant car buying experience I have ever had. I am 72 years old and have purchased well over 25 vehicles in my life. Tom Robertson was fantastic and really cared about me and getting me the best vehicle for my needs. I would recommend them anytime and I will most likely go back to them for my next vehicle. I live 1.3 hours away from the dealership and by pass at least 6 dealerships on the way and it was worth it.

BEST CAR PURCHASING EXPERIENCE WE’VE EVER HAD!! I am completely satisfied with the entire truck buying process I had with Family GMC, Jennifer and Marion. After being jerked around by another local GMC dealer, I called looking for a specific vehicle and they happen to have one in transit. We negotiated a VERY good deal on it through both phone and emails and never had a second thought that they were trying to be shady about it or anything. I was kept up to date via phone calls and text with the expected arrival date. It actually came earlier than expected, but was dealer preped that day and ready for us that afternoon! I felt very appreciated as a customer and the communications were spot on, honest and never overbearing. I had read some of the previous negative reviews and wondered if that’s how this was going to go, but those reviews must have not been reasonable or prepared for what to expect when buying a car. THANK YOU!!

UPDATE: 2/12/25 - Purchased my second truck from Jennifer Powell and Family GMC yesterday, if you do not reach out to them to purchase a new Chevrolet, GMC or Ford, you are making a mistake!! Take the short drive to see them, call them, email them, do whatever you have to do to get in touch with them. They provide a true no hassle, no pressure, no BS car buying experience and they actually care abut what they do. Simple example, just look at their closing fee, find somewhere else in the lowcontry that only charges $299 (most others are $600-$700 and up!!!!).

I had my 2011 Buick car towed to there shop to see if they could hook it up to a computer to determine what was wrong and what it needed to get fixed. Unfortunately they gave us the terrible news that it needed a new transmission for 5 thousand or we could trade. We wanted to trade but they could only give us $400 for it. So we decided to get it towed for someone we knew to look at it and when our guy asked what number did their computer give them they put my boyfriend on hold for 20 minutes and had to call back again and they had the audacity to say that they didn’t hook it up to anything that just one of their mechanics looked under the hood. We spent $200 on towing and $99 for what ? If they didn’t hook it up to a computer for it to be diagnosed!!!! Never again!!!! I need my refund !!

You told me there was no possible way for mechanic to have damaged my car and that the damage must have happened after my car left your facility. I have witnesses and pictures to verify the damage done to my car, by your shop. However both you and Chevrolet Customer car, still deny any wrongdoing. I will move forward as I have been.

On 5/19/2020 I took my car to Family Chevrolet to have my electrical issue diagnosed and my TCM (transmission control module) replaced. I previously purchased the TCM from Chevrolet because I knew that this part was bad and would need to be replaced once the underlying issue was diagnosed. That morning Daniel (service desk ) called me and explained that the part was in and I could bring my car in to have it replaced. I explained to Daniel that the car would need to be diagnosed to find the underlying issue before the New TCM was place on the car and asked when I could make an appointment Daniel stated that he wasn't aware of me wanting the car to be diagnosed and would call me back. He called me back about a hour later and told me to bring the car in they would diagnose and replace the TCM. I brought the car in spoke to Daniel once again about what needed to be done to the car. Diagnose the electrical issue and replace the TCM, I also asked for the car to be serviced. As I was speaking with Daniel, I was on the phone with a friend who was telling me what to say to ensure the car was cared for properly. I sat down down to wait. About 30 minutes later the Mechanic Cole who had been working on my car entered the service area and stated that he was able to replace the TCM but couldn't program it as there was some kind of issue.  Daniel looked at Cole and stated, " didn't you diagnose the car before you put the New TCM on the car?" Cole stated, " No, I was only told to change the TCM and reprogram it." He then turned around PUNCHED the service door and walked back into the repair bay. Daniel came to me and apologized saying that he hadn't been trained at all and was just thrown into the job. This became a huge issue. I ended up going to speak to Larry to try and resolve it. While I was speaking to Larry another mechanic was servicing my car. Which means they were driving my car around with the Brand New TCM module in the car with the electrical issue undiagnosed. As I was speaking to Larry he asked Daniel if I had requested him to diagnose my car. Daniel lied and stated that I had never requested for him to diagnose my car, during all of our conversations. At this point I was so distraught I broke down in tears. Larry stated that they would diagnose the car and if the new TCM was damaged we would cross that bridge when we got there. They diagnosed my car, but I was only able to get part of the issue fixed. I left in my car only to have it overheat 15 miles down the road. When the tow truck driver arrived we looked under the hood. The mechanic had bent my coolant hose, hooked it onto a bolt on the engine and left it that way, causing the hose to break off. He also cut the covering off my wires on the TCM connector and left them bare. When the tow truck driver placed my car on the tow truck he, also showed me damage on the passenger side of my car by placing it improperly on the lift. Finally when, I reviewed my receipt again, I realized they put Synthetic oil in my car instead of Conventional. I contacted Chevrolet Customer care and they stated that the Dealer denied all damages. This is the WORSE service ever and I will take this Higher up.  I had to give One Star just to Post but wanted to give NONE.

I wasnt impressed that i was charged $95.00 for them to tell me exactly what i told them was wrong with my truck and what needed to be replaced.
i wasnt impressed that they said they could not find the part needed and ordered it from out of state when i found exactly what was needed within 35 miles of them.
i wasnt impressed that i was charged $362.00 for a part that i could get for $220.00.
i wasnt impressed that i was charged for a 3 plus hour job when there is noway it should have taken that long.
im not impressed that i went there with a full tank of gas and had less than 1/4 tank left when i picked up my truck.

Spoke with rep over at Family Chevrolet GMC after calling around to several dealers. They didn't have exactly what I wanted but were more than happy to order the specific truck I put together. Made me a great deal too. The guys I met were friendly and my truck arrived perfect.
