I had my residential roof replaced by exterior renovations and probably couldn’t be more satisfied. We had a leak start in the middle of the winter and Larry offered to repair it at no cost to hold us over until the spring when it could be replaced. He explained that it is not ideal to have a roof replaced in winter because the shingles don’t lay right and frankly the guys don’t like to work in the cold. That makes sense and within one day of signing the agreement Larry was on the roof in the cold repairing the flashing around our chimney and we were able to finish the winter leak free.

As soon as the weather changed we were one of the first customers on their list. We had them add insulation, vent two bathroom ceiling fans through the roof, replace a bunch of plywood (because it was rotted from not having adequate ventilation), replace a lot of trim and the flashing around the chimney, add proper ventilation and replace the shingles. Everything was completed within two days with pictures of the process. The roof looks great and the inside of the house feels even better( because of the ventilation and insulation). Larry was involved in every step of the process and even helped with the cleanup. The roofers worked hard and the office staff was amazing. Jordan, the office manager even stopped by our house to pickup the down payment check. Even the communication was good. I didn’t have any problems but if I did I could’ve gotten ahold of either Jordan or Larry at anytime and had the problem resolved. We already referred this company to friends and colleagues and will have no hesitation contacting them when it comes time to have more work done. We recently had our hail damaged roof replaced.Larry, Scott and Jordan we’re extremely helpful right from dealing with the insurance company to selecting the best shingle and color.The job was done in one day as promised and it looks amazing. We have had Larry do several jobs for us in the last five years including building a large addition to the back of our home. Joe was great to work with and did an amazing job. Truly professional. I just want to say it has been a roller coaster three months but they came out and GOT THE JOB DONE! They did an excellent job. Scott and Larry came out every couple of hours to check on how everything was going. They gave us AMAZING pricing. In the beginning the communication wasn't the best but I still went with them because I just enjoyed Scott's spirit. Jordan is also amazing and very patient. I would recommend a million times over. I recently had Joe and his crew do a column job for me in Grosse Pointe. I needed the columns to be restored as the house was built in the early 1920s. They did an amazing job, the crew was extremely professional, and they also went above and beyond and with special attention to every detail. I highly recommend them! Ask for Joe he was fantastic.

My roof replacement project was mishandled by a different company about a month before I called Exterior Renovations for a roof inspection. Scott recognized several installation errors before I mentioned them. Luckily for me, Scott has a lot of knowledge and experience working with complicated home improvement projects. Scott is an honest contractor who will fight for the customer's best interest and positive outcomes. We were quoted by a big brand metro Detroit company looking to charge us 35k JUST FOR THE ROOF AND they were ready to take our information and money immediately after the walk through. Scott, Larry, and their crew took care of our brand new roof on our house and garage in just one day. We originally thought 2 days, but the crew knocked it out in the last few hours and got it done. My girlfriend and I were both very impressed with how transparent they were with us. Scott walked us through the entire process and gave us several options to go with way before the work was done. Very good professionalism.

No call, no show for the estimate. I tried to get a roof estimate for my Mom's house, scheduled for 12 noon on Friday - I called at 1230 to find out the sales guy was in Milwaukee for a Voleyball tournament. I guess this falls under information that would have been useful YESTERDAY. Oh well, there are a few others that are eager and willing to work. And NO i will not reschedule with someone that doesn't value my time. General Policy: unreliable for estimate = unreliable for work.

I’m so surprised with these reviews - I had a terrible experience with this company. They took our money (cashed our check) and proceeded to dodge us / keep pushing our instal. Finally, after two months after our check was cashed they came and out to fix our roof - they completed instal but didn’t put on our new gutters. It’s been 6 weeks and we are still waiting on gutters…

Exterior Renovations replaced my roof on the house, changing out the old attic venting system with a new ridge vent, and garage. Scott, my first contact person, met with me and explained everything very well. He took the time to thoroughly explained the entire process. The workers were professional and left my home very neat and clean. They even asked my neighbor if they could come into their backyard to clean up some debris that had fell into their yard. I am very pleased with the work and plan to use Exterior Renovations for a future project of replacing the gutters and siding next.

Larry was very responsive and honest. Myself not having any knowledge on the roof damage and repair required he took the time to explain the repair and took photos to outline the issue and then photos of the completed work. Knowing the timely nature of the repair (our roof was leaking into our child’s nursery), Larry was sympathetic and made sure to make our job a priority.

Scott and his partner were very responsive, coming out immediately and addressing our siding issues after several other businesses said they couldn’t do it or did not get back to me. They provided quality and timely service for a good price. I would definitely recommend them for your exterior work and appreciated their service.

Needed full roof repair with internal water damage at the end of 2022, after hours of reading google reviews I found exterior renovations. Reviews were solid, after seeing my cousin on the list with a 5 star I gave them a call. Larry was my contact, from the very beginning he laid out what the insurance was likely to do and the process. He was there for every step of the battle with the insurance company and present for every last minute reschedule/ cancellation by the inspector. He took videos, pictures, and personally contacted the adjustor until they had no choice but to pay out. When the work finally came time it was a matter of a day for a full tear off and replace and the new roof looks great! Josh @ Victors Painting that he uses for internal work did a great job making the inside look like the water damage was never there. Cannot recommend exterior renovations enough!

Exterior Renovations replaced my roof on the house and garage as well as two flat roof decks upstairs——one in front of home and one in back.

Very happy with the work Exterior Renovations did to repair my siding from storm damage. First company I called came out to look and then never came back. This company was responsive, professional, and did great work. I would definitely use them again.

We are extremely pleased with the job Exterior Renovations did replacing our roof and changing out our old attic venting system with a new ridge vent system! Scott, one of the owners, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to get in touch with. One of the reasons we went with Exterior Renovations was the warranty on the labor being 25 years because they are a Five-Star Certainteed contractor. The warranty on the shingles is lifetime, but most companies don’t give you a 25 year warranty on the workmanship that can be performed by any Certainteed Five-Star contractor. This is huge! The most the other companies were giving was 10 years, and several quotes we got only offered 2 years on labor. The workers did a great job on the roof and were done within the day. They did a thorough cleanup and Scott came to verify that all the work was done properly and that we were pleased with everything. I would highly recommend this company! They are fairly priced and the work they did is impeccable.

I was skeptical from all the 5 star reviews but I could not be happier with my results. Joe and Daren were professional and did a fantastic job! They communicated well even when I went on vacation during part of the job, sending me pictures and asking my opinion on part of the process. After getting a few estimates from other companies, Scott came out to give me an estimate and was very knowledgeable, so knowledgeable in fact I hired them on the spot and they started the next day. They kept a tidy work area and their craftsmanship was excellent. Thanks fellas, I would hire them again without reservation. Hey, do you guys do fencing?

I am very pleased that I called Exterior Renovations, LLC, after hearing them on the Saturday WMUZ broadcast of The Home and Health show.
Jordan was very pleasant and a big help in the total process of my re-roof and new gutters being installed. Scott came out and did a complete roof inspection and due to the fact there were no leaks was able to set up a date for the re-roof to be done. His crew came out and completed the job in just one day, and the job that they did was top-notch. The gutter install did take a little longer than expected, but that was mainly caused by the inclement weather, which kept the roofing and gutter crews busier than usual. Jordan and Scott truly went out of their way to accommodate me through the whole process, which when completed, added value and a positive new appearance to my home.

Remotely having rental property in a different state that needs major work can be a bit challenging. Exterior Renovations came thru for me when I needed to replace a roof on a rental property in Michigan. I chose them because Scott was easy to work with and explained the process in simple terms. He is very passionate about doing the job right.

Once we got scheduled, the work was done on time and with excellent quality (I was able check that in person). They did leave any trash, and I did not even find a nail in the grass. The quoted cost was the price we paid. I felt like their pricing was very competitive

We could not be happier nor more impressed with the work that was done at our house! My wife and I just bought our first house that had clear signs of water damage as a result of the flashing not being done properly. All of our siding had to come down, new flashing had to be bent and installed, and then the siding had to be put back up. We were originally quoted a week-long task, but Exterior Renovations completed the work in a day and a half! Not only that, but they were super communicative as far as timing, expectations, and cost. In addition to the quality work on the actual project, Exterior Renovations also discovered that our siding was installed incorrectly, which they then corrected so we should not have any wind damage and the siding has room to breathe (siding also had wind damage when we bought the house). All-in-all, we are extremely impressed with the entire process from beginning to end. We HIGHLY recommend their services for anyone in need. If we ever need additional work done, Exterior Renovations will absolutely get our repeat business.

Get ready for a completely different experience with a contractor! Scott with Exterior Renovations is thorough, attentive, responsive and extremely well versed in roofing. A roof repair or replacement is not a fun expense but Scott helps make it a positive experience. We received 5 total quotes. We had hail damage that caused a leak in our ceiling. We also have a tricky and unique area of our roof in the back and Scott addressed this issue the best out of all the other companies. He took our concern seriously and came up with an excellent solution. After the work was finished we did not like the color flashing that was placed in an area and left a message about it for Scott. He returned my call immediately and was out the next day to change out the flashing! We couldn't be happier with our new roof! Great experience, will recommend to anyone who is in need of a roofing company.

My wife and I were looking to purchase a newly built home and found defects in the roof during our home inspection. The builder of the home did not agree with the issues that we found. We contacted several roofing companies to get a second opinion and most were unresponsive and difficult to work with. Based on the information we provided him with, he gave us his professional opinion. Furthermore, to confirm this he even went out to the home to inspect the roof. He then emailed us a detailed explanation describing what he had found along with an estimate. This was all done the next day. Needless to say, Exterior Renovations provides great customer service and quality work.

Exterior Renovations did my roof at the end of 2020. While I’m happy with how my roof turned out I’ve slightly dissatisfied with being told things that never happened. The biggest selling point and the reason I chose this company was because I was told their crew wore cameras the whole time they were redoing the roof. I like this mainly for liability and also I was told there was a website that I could log into and watch their cameras to see what they see ( what my roof looked like underneath plywood etc). The day of install came and after being there a few hours I asked about the cameras and website. Then I was told the crew wasn’t wearing them. Being as this was a BIG reason I chose them irritated me. So to make up o was told they would take pictures so I could see. After it was completed I was then told that no one took pictures either. That was my biggest problem. Also, at the selling pitch I was told since my husband is a Veteran he would receive a gift card of some kind, I believe to a restaurant. Honestly, the fact that we didn’t get one doesn’t bother me more the fact I’m being told things then those things don’t happen. Now I’m waiting on warranty papers that I was told again would come in 6-8 weeks which it has been far past that. I understand that we are in a pandemic and things might be slow but when I call regarding the issue and I’m “told” I will get a call back tomorrow and it’s been a week and no call then I see I can’t listen to a thing they tell me. This is why I gave 3 stars.

We had a roof leak issue the evening before Thanksgiving. I had asked for recommendations on social media and within minutes, Larry, owner of Exterior Renovations, contacted me and was out to assess my roof issue within the hour. Not only did he know exactly what the issue was, but made an appointment with us to have it fixed, first thing Friday morning. I HIGHLY recommend this company! It’s a bonus when the company not only knows what to do, and how to fix it, but is very personable and has great customer service. 100% satisfied!

Exterior Renovations replaced a 20+ year old wood shake roof on our Gazebo. The roof looks great! Scott was very helpful and upfront in helping me decide what needed to be done. The crew was polite and friendly (i was even able to get into a little good-natured bantering with one of eh guys, just for fun, and he wasn't put off!)
The ONLY reason for not giving them 5 stars is that there was a bit of warranty work that needed to be done and it took longer than I had hoped to get them to respond. I was never ignored, but I needed to keep calling to give a gentle reminder to send someone out. But come out they did and all is well.

Will recommend to friends and family. Finished job looks wonderful. We knew this was a multiple day project. At the end of each day the ground was cleared of debris as if they finished (no tarps or scraps left for their return. Tarps reset each day.) Working with Scott was a good experience.

The owner(Larry) was very helpful/thorough and informative in helping my wife and I pick out a roof color and shingle type after we suffered storm damage. He gave us several examples to look at which his company did which was beneficial in our final decision. I did not use this business because it took two attempts to get a call back. Scott did come out to the house, but never followed through with an estimate. He was also supposed to send a link to an app to use to “try on” different color schemes/materials but I never heard from him. Be careful with this company.

Scott was onsight within 15 minutes of me calling and had a tarp on my roof to stop the leaks. His team did great work replacing my roof. Highly recommend

This company was exceptional! They did my moms roof and it looks great. Scott was amazing to work with and truly cares about the workmanship from this company. Larry (president/owner) and Justin arrived within an hour of contact on a rainy and snowy Saturday to address a roof leak penetrating my condo unit in multiple areas, most concerning of which was the electrical panel. Larry quickly identified the trouble spot and set about patching the area until a more permanent fix can be made in dry conditions. Larry and Justin cleared snow and ice to the other side of the flat roof, away from the previous gap in the downspout to minimize any further seepage. Very grateful for the quick response and action from Exterior Renovations! Even said to call back should the leak escalate again. Terrific service and good guys!
