I live at Lakeshore Condominiums. Three floors sixteen buildings in all. The crew are polite, they seem to all be craftsmen at their job. The Cutters / Framers / Installers all take pride in their jobs and works. Einnel the Exterior Medic professional, looking after Lakeshores construction / improvement projects who works directly with the Building Engineer Susan; has made this project run smoothly and safely. Einnel goes out of his way to answer / explain any questions a homeowner may have.

After a very thorough walk through of our project in April, Steve said he would provide an estimate in 2 weeks (he volunteered that timeline). After two weeks, he said they are overbooked but would send an estimate the following week. I never heard from him again. I cannot speak to the quality of their work, but their estimate process was disappointing and disrespectful.

Exterior Medics did a fantastic job of replacing the cement decor pieces on the front of our house and repair our chimney cap. Job was done very professionally and in a timely matter. Their clean-up was excellent and everything near the work locations was protected. We will be hiring them again to repair our slate walkway.

I highly recommend Exterior Medics. Tom and Riane were professional and extremely responsive to our many questions about our roof replacement. The crew was wonderful- they were respectful of the landscaping and did an amazing job cleaning up after they had finished.

I first hired them 10 years ago when I moved into my house to do some masonry repairs on the chimney and to do some roofing work. Fast forward 10 years. I am selling my house, and the new buyers' home inspection identified a small crack in the chimney crown. The Exterior Medics team was great to work with. I especially appreciated how quickly they provided a proposal and inspected the site thoroughly, ensuring they only did the necessary work. The turnaround was incredibly fast, and they expertly matched the new gutters to the existing ones on our house. Where to begin!
The team at Exterior Medics is second to none in the DMV, especially PJ and Rami. What started off as me wanting to do a few repairs around the house, turned into a complete exterior renovation and we could not be more pleased with our choice. Our sales consultant, PJ, offered the repair solutions we thought were the best option, but also presented the replacement option - while going over the pros and cons of each. His knowledge and experience in the industry gave us confidence we were making the right choice in doing a full replacement.

Update:

The team at Exterior Medics reached out to me directly after this review and put me in touch with a different project manager that was able to help me quickly resolve the issue with the front decoration on my house. They also apologized for the issues I encountered and told me they are working to update their processes to avoid these kinds of issues happening in the future. While my original experience was very frustrating, I do appreciate the effort they made to correct the issues as best they could.

Consider this a warning: do not hire this company.

I have given this company way too many second chances when ultimately they do not seem to care about the (poor) work they have done or about me as a customer. I am now here with a leaking roof kicking myself for even giving them a dollar of my money.

My first interaction with Exterior Medics was already a red flag: I had a sales associate come to my house to discuss doors and windows, but they completely ghosted me despite numerous attempts to get in touch with them via their office. At least they had not taken my money at that point!

I gave them a second chance 4 years later to work on a new roof for my townhouse. It's clear that this was a mistake:
- I was told the job could be started as early as March. They did not start until May.
- The job took the entire month of May because it was particularly rainy, but my roof is maybe 500 square feet? How could this take so long? While this was happening, my back yard was completely unusable.
- When they had my skylight delivered to my house, they did not have anyone come to help unload it. The skylight must have weighed hundreds of pounds. I had to ask other people working on my neighbors' houses to come and assist me with getting it into my back yard.
- During the job, they left discarded trash in various places in my yard. Debris would fall from the roof that was rarely cleaned.
- The slick sales associate made me think he'd be available to contact about issues with the job, but he was nowhere to be found. I also had similar difficulty communicating with the project manager assigned to my job.

Now if only the story stopped here! Since that work, I have had to deal with all of the following:
- The roof leaked in the area where the AC duct enters the home. I had them come and fix it as the roof is under warranty, but in the process they also managed to undo some insulation on the duct, so I had to ask them to come back AGAIN to replace that insulation.
- They did not properly attach the gutter to the roof, so water fell between the two.
- The condensation that drains from my AC unit was left just dripping onto the roof rather than routed to the gutter.
- They left a water bottle on my roof.
- In addition to my roof, they had to replace a decoration on the front of my house. They did a terrible job with it and it has been FOUR MONTHS since I have claimed warranty on it but it STILL is not fixed.
- While working through the warranty claim process, the person assigned to my job is basically impossible to contact directly despite having his email address and phone number. If I contact him by those means, nothing happens. I have to call the office and tell them to tell HIM to email me back. This has happened multiple times.

The worst part of all of this: the roof is leaking from the same spot again.

I cannot emphasize enough how frustrating this experience has been. I am extremely disappointed in the service and work provided, and I am disappointed in myself for giving this company so many opportunities to fix their mistakes when they clearly are unable to do so.

Spent ~$50,000 on a new roof with them. Thought everything went well. Years later discovered that they had not sealed the cricket on the chimney well enough. Discovered water coming in and eventually rotting the wallboard, studs, etc. Had to replace entire wall. Called them about the issue, they sent a rep. He said it was the chimney's fault, it was leaking. Not so, opened the wall and ceiling and had another roofer come spray water on the chimney, nothing, no leak. Then sprayed water on the cricket, water came in. Exterior Medics would not admit any fault. Had it repaired, no leak, no problem since then.
Had recommended to a friend, never again, he also had a bad experience.
DO USE IF YOU WANT QUALITY WORK AND A COMPANY THAT STANDS BEHIND THEIR WORK.
1-14-25 Appreciate the response, but you didn't address the real issue...becuase of your poor work, there was a leak. I had a severely damaged room and while I appreciate you provided a quote to fix it, that wasn't the point, you should have repaired it for nothing to stand behind your work! Why would I eveer use you again ?? You tried to pass the buck and blame the chimney ! By the way you never did a water test...your response is sad and unprofessional. I stand behind me review. My lingering concerns about your work are not addressed and never will be...

We have used Exterior Medics several times over a few years. They respond quickly, are professional, do good work, and everything is transparent.

The craftsman from Exterior Medics were very professional and they did a masterful job completing the repair work.  Communication from all staff (scheduling, billing, project coordinator) was excellent.  I will definitely turn to Exterior Medics in the future if I need more repairs.

The project went extremely well! The price was extremely competitive and craftsmanship was top notch! The company even came up with a solution the shed in order to prevent inadvertent weed whacking damage. I could not recommend a better crew! I had multiple companies come out and he was the only one to get a ladder out and actually look at the whole door. I've had the pleasure of working with Exterior Medics for two projects now: water damage to the exterior of my home and more recently for window replacement. For a townhome, I have a large # of windows and their quote beat out of the others I received. The manufacturing of the windows came in ahead of schedule and on the day of install, the team replaced 22 windows in a single day and left no trace of mess behind. The house is already warmer in the mornings and I might actually be able to use my first floor this winter without freezing!

Exterior Medics is currently working in my neighborhood to make repairs to the buildings in our townhouse community. Up until today, our interactions with them have been fine.

Last month, we received notice we'd have to move our car on X date for repairs. The dates ended up being a little different due to rain which was not a problem, we completely understand.

Repairs are still on going and I guess more work is needed on our building, which wouldn't have been a problem if we had been alerted prior (we were not). Our morning started with an angry little man POUNDING on our door, upset that we hadn't moved our vehicle.

My partner works the night shift. When I came home yesterday, there were no signs posted saying we had to move. They were put out last night prior to me turning in for the evening.

I explained the situation to the man who just wasn't having it, "You need to move your car, you need to move your car." I told him I will move my car, but I want to know when it needs to be moved in the future so we don't have to have this unpleasant interaction again. He got his supervisor on the phone who came off as very condescending and STILL didn't provide a clear answer ("We are working every day"). So now I don't know when I'm allowed to park in my assigned space. I felt that I was brushed off and dismissed.

I understand that big projects like this are difficult, but better communication is needed. If you knew you'd be working on these buildings today, why couldn't you put out a sign 24hrs prior to alert the residents? What would have happened if we weren't home or out of town and were unable to move our vehicles?

Very frustrated with this whole experience.

***Update****

The manager came by and apologized for this mornings situation personally; he let me know he spoke his crew and the man who was banging on our door and it won't happen again. He was very apologetic and the personal touch was appreciated.

Do not do business with this company. In my experience, the sales rep and project manager turned out to be mostly smooth talking prevaricators, pressured to make sales and rush the process, and were completely out-of-touch with their subcontracted roofer teams. They don’t stand by their work. They just cost me a lot of money to fix the mess they created. I hired the company to replace my roof which has Gutter Helmet. Steve, the sale rep and Edwin the project manager assured me that their crews are skilled working with Gutter Helmet. They do it all the time they said. Steve stated they will “pull away and reset in order to get the underpayments and shingles installed.” He assured me that “their crews take every precaution to get them properly reset and typically have no issues”. I believed him, agreed to let them proceed thus voiding my Gutter Helmet warranty. The project manager was never around. I had to monitor the crews and, in some cases, point out things they missed. One of the roofers mentioned that the project manager quit the company halfway through my project. No one told me. I will credit the roofers who did work hard, and they lay down a pretty good roof, but it was obvious they didn’t have any experience with Gutter Helmet. I watched them pull it out. They didn’t “pull it away, and reset it”, they violently bent it out of shape, they broke the braces and put it back all messed up. After the first heavy rain, volumes of water cascaded down in several places threatening the foundation of the house. I contacted sales rep Steve who stated, “we cannot be responsible for any failures of that product, since we did not install it originally.” I should have known better and should have had Gutter Helmet come out first to remove the gutters (as they recommend thus keeping the warranty), but I trusted Steve. Caveat emptor. My belief in old fashion trust based on a handshake and honor whereby a man is "only as good his word" just cost me $5,000 to fix the mess Exterior Medics created. Steer clear of this company.

The estimate for trim repair was reasonable, the work was timely, and everyone I spoke with was professional. I would use them again on my house!

Being a homeowner is never easy, there is always something to do or fix. This just so happens to be the case for me, and why I contacted Exterior Medics. My original shaker roof was in need of repairs, and not the entire roof needed replacement. I contacted the experts at Exterior Medics. They came out, assessed the situation as well as the required materials. Came to an agreement on price and scheduled the repairs. As the pictures so, before and after of my roof. Exterior Médics did a full siding removal and replacement for us. They did a fantastic job and we are extremely happy with how our house looks now. We are getting compliments from neighbors all the time. Ben Franceschi and his team were great to work with, very responsive and respectful. We recommend them highly.

The job took several months longer than necessary in part because they misdiagnosed the issue and recommended a costly job that ultimately wasn't necessary. They also used the wrong type of mortar in initially, which could've caused long-term damage to my wall. While I guess there's a bit of "buyer beware" in all transactions, the fact they wouldn't accept some of the financial liability for the misdiagnosis leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

We have used Exterior Medics for two projects. The first was a roof installation and chimney repair. The second was a time-sensitive project to replace exterior shutters and dental moulding damaged by woodpeckers. Ron Rodriguez did a great job getting us set up for the latest project and identifying options. Sebastian Salinas was our project manager and he and the onsite team did a fantastic job. In both cases, the work is excellent, on time, took care of the property. Outstanding company; highly recommend.

The roofing team arrived on time and completed all work by late afternoon. With the exception of a new roof, you would never know they were here. The work area was spotless! They were a hard working group of people and we had a great day together.

Exterior Medics replaced our roof and two skylights in 2023. Our sales representative Ben, and especially our project manager Edwin and the roofing crew provided EXCELLENT service and went beyond what I expected in terms of quality and scope of work. I had interviewed 4 other roofing companies before I settled on Exterior Medics. They were companies that supposedly had stellar ratings. Yet, I found significant issues with transparency, contracts, warranties, and/or technical knowledge with each company. Exterior Medics was the only company that actually delivered what was promised, at the agreed upon price, with a contract with clear terms, a great warranty, and technical expertise. If you do your homework on roof replacements and roofing contractors, you will find that Exterior Medics checks all the boxes and is not out to cheat you, by hoping you won’t catch certain discrepancies, loopholes, and they don’t try to sell you unnecessary products. I HiGHLY recommend them!

I have had Exterior Medics work on my house twice; most recently I got quotes from both Exterior Medics and another contractor for front door replacement. The other quote was lower, but I am happy that I chose Exterior Medics. They discussed details and provided options that I did not know to ask about. (The other contractor only discussed these after I knew to bring them up.) The work was accomplished on schedule, care was taken to protect adjacent surfaces, and clean up was thorough. I confidently recommend Exterior Medics for front door replacement as well as siding and roofing work.

Ron and team installed new windows and sealed our back door. Wow. What a difference it has made in our no-longer drafty row house. We were very happy with the results. We had Exterior Medics redesign the front of the house with Hardie plank, and board and batten. They wrapped a frieze board around the house in aluminum matching the Hardie plank. They also handled smaller design tasks (e.g., corbel). It was a good price and they provided excellent service from design through installation. The quality of work was also top level: the project started and was completed on time; the team was very responsive to the issues we raised. The final product looks great. We highly recommend them.

I recently had Exterior Medics replace all window (12) and door (2) trim on my home…fixing issues from the original contractor on a fairly new construction property. From the first meeting on our project & getting the estimate to working with the team who handled the replacements, I was so impressed with the entire team. I had an outstanding experience with Exterior Medics. They handled every phase of my outdoor deck / flat roof replacement in a very professional manner. They stuck to the timeline and estimated costs. I would recommend Exterior Medics to anyone needing the services that they provide.

Update: The owner reached out to us. He said “wanted to do right by us,” and his definition of that was to offer his personal assistance and guidance when it came to selecting a new roof through his company at full replacement cost. We told him thanks, but no thanks.

Posted this on NextDoor, which garnered a bit of attention, and just wanted to share what happened in case anyone wanted to use this company. Our home wasn’t the only home in our neighborhood affected by this- three other homes in our row with roofs from Exterior Medics have this issue.

We moved into our home, located in Reston, in October 2022. Since then, we’ve lost shingles here and there during stronger winds. Two weeks ago, we had a roofing guy from another company come and check the house out to provide an estimate for replacing the lost shingles. He told us our entire roof was shot and needed to be replaced because the shingles were barely being held to the home. We didn’t know what to believe, so we reached out to our insurance company, as we assumed the damage must have been from some weather issue. The contractor for our insurance company concluded that this was an improper installation issue due to how it was nailed and that the shingles itself were the incorrect size. Basically, everything about the installation was wrong.

After digging more into the history of the house with neighbors/previous homeowners, we learned that Exterior Medics, the company who installed the roof back in 2010ish, used the wrong type of nails during the installation. Since cedar roofs needed to be treated yearly, the nails used couldn’t hold up to the chemicals and as a result, the nails corroded over time which is why it appeared the shingles were barely being held onto the rooftop. The manner in which it was installed by Exterior Medics has led to the shingles itself rotting, as well the baseboard underneath.

The Exterior Medics policy is that the warranty only applies to the original consumer/purchaser. Unfortunately that wasn’t us, and now we have to completely replace our cedar roof even though it’s just barely passed a third of its expected life (supposed to be 30+ years for cedar roofs). Exterior Medics is not contractually obligated to do anything for us. We only hoped they would do right by us, because warranty or not, it was completely installed wrong since the beginning. However, the managers have been unwilling to speak to us at all and our roof is proof of the quality of work that Exterior Medics stands by. This is just a warning to any of the homeowners out there who had their roof installed by Exterior Medics, particularly if it was installed around that time era, to double check everything with a third party and make sure the installation was done correctly.

First, the rep was late.

Next, despite only needing my bay window trim repaired, he tried selling me on getting my entire window replaced.

Finally, after spending an hour+ of my time, he refused to send me a quote or proposal until I attended a 30 minute zoom meeting. I asked if he could simply send me a proposal via email and I’d get back to him, but he claimed “that was impossible due to company policy”. I suppose it WAS impossible, since he told me to “have a good day” after I told him I’d just do the work with another company.

Don’t waste your time with these people. Find a different one that doesn’t play games.

I am leaving one star because Exterior Medics never followed up on an in-person estimate. My husband called and right away got an appointment for someone to assess our home exterior needs. The employee appeared competent and knowledgeable and said he would get back to us with an estimate. That never happened. This was a few months ago. Crickets. It was a waste of our time during a busy work day. We are in search of a different company that can fix the exterior of our house.

Exterior Medics worked closely with me to design and build out an improvement to the appearance of our home. I could not be happier with the end results. It looks fantastic!

Updated review: After the initial disastrous interaction with a sales rep no longer employed by the company, Josh from sales team lead reached out. They owned the problem immediately and showed sincere regret and embarrassment over the situation. They then offered to redo the proposal which was delivered within 2 business days and one of the best RFQ/quotes I have seen from the service industry. After further interaction with Josh, I was confident to select their quote. Jose, the on-site team lead was amazing, very communicative, and the quality of their work exceeded expectations. After the rebound experience, I'm very confident with their services and employees. In an area where quality/value/reliability are difficult to find, I recommend starting here.

Three weeks before Christmas 2023, in one of the most random events anywhere, someone drove a 2022 Chrysler Voyager minivan into the side of our house going in excess of 60mph. This left a massive hole in the side of our house, a hole in our foundation, and damage to each floor of our house. We were traumatized. We hired Exterior Medics, as they had done great work on our house in the past. They were outstanding. They worked with our insurance company, they repaired everything, it's like nothing ever happened. Just a huge emotional lift for our whole family. There's no one better to call, they're the best in the business.

Exterior Medics was great from the start to finish of my roof replacement. Great communication from my rep Ron Rodriguez and from my project manager Mike Howell. The roof was replaced in only one day. Crew was friendly and made sure all the trash was taken away. Same with the front door we had replaced. Will definitely use again. Very professional company and great warranty.

I contacted Exterior medics to replace rotted wood in 3 dormers and to also replace undersized gutter in my covered patio. Price wise, there are in the middle of the pack. It took about 3 months to get the work started, but I believe if you are good at what you do, there are always customers and jobs in the pipe line. Stephen Bozak was my main POC for the project from beginning to end. He is very professional, knowledgeable and detail oriented. Overall, I am very happy with how the job was performed. Would highly recommend.

I used Exterior Medics to replace my old rubber flat roof with a new TPO flat roof, and also to replace all of my rotten wood fascia and soffit with PVC fascia and soffit. They also added 2 skylights that bring light into my master bath and an upstairs hall that was always very dark. Great team and no issues with the quality of of work.

I have known Steve Harper and the team at Exterior Medics for many years. They use top quality materials and installs per manufacturer specs. They are more expensive than other companies but they have much longer warranties. I highly recommend their services. Steve is very consultative and goes the extra mile for his clients.
