5 Stars – Exceptional Work and a Truly Professional Team
Matt and the team at Emerald Remodeling were absolutely fantastic. They did a ton of work on my mid-century home on Mercer Island this year, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
They took over a complicated deck and patio renovation that had been started (and fumbled) by another contractor. The difference was night and day. The previous contractor was slow, disorganized, and unsure about the next steps. As soon as I brought in Emerald, everything changed. They immediately knew what to do—handled permitting, coordinated a geotech evaluation, and laid out a clear plan of action. Not only that, but they moved FAST and were always available to walk me through any questions. They made the entire process smooth and stress-free.
Their craftsmanship was top-notch. Miguel, their carpenter, did beautiful, precise work that really elevated the space. The deck turned out amazing—so much so that I hired them again to refresh my kitchen and bathroom, and to install new carpet in the bedrooms. Once again, they delivered: everything was done efficiently, with great attention to detail, and they made sure to minimize any disruption to my family.
Unlike past experiences with contractors who left jobs half-finished for days, Emerald showed up consistently and worked hard until everything was done. The quality speaks for itself—I've gotten tons of compliments on all the updates.
I highly recommend Emerald Remodeling. They’re trustworthy, professional, and just a great team to work with. If you're looking for reliable, high-quality work done right the first time, these are your people.

We used Emerald for a major remodel of our kitchen and dining room (which included removing a load-bearing wall) and two bathrooms. We are repeat customers, so we knew the quality would be great, but wanted to share some other highlights of working with Emerald:
1. Value: this was a major remodel, so we received bids from several contractors and design/build firms. Matt and Tom were in line or less than the other quotes. In some cases quiet a bit less, such as a place that hires designers, decorators, etc. We knew we wanted to be heavily involved in the design process, so we opted to save the money instead.
2. Creativity: like many homes in Seattle, ours is over 100 years old and there is weird stuff going on behind these walls, such as strange pipe placements, duct work in random locations, etc. For every problem that popped up, Matt and Tom were never stressed and had a solution. We really wanted a certain look for our remodel, and they helped us achieve that.
3. Communication: we moved out for our renovation and relocated to another state to live with family. This meant that we had a huge amount of trust with Matt and Tom and their ability to communicate with us, without over-doing it. We would get quick questions over text with photos with markup. This requires someone with good communication and technology skills, which made the process a lot easier with no surprises when we got home.
All in all, Matt and Tom are our go-to for remodeling since their quality is great and their prices are really fair.

Thank you Emerald Remodeling! My house looks great. You exceeded our expectations! I really appreciate your flexibility as we changed our opinion a few times.

The average roof replacement cost for a residential home typically ranges from $7,000 to $15,000, depending on factors such as roof size, chosen materials, roof pitch, and labor rates in your area. Premium materials or complex designs may increase the price.
The cost to replace the roof of a commercial building typically ranges from $5 to $12 per square foot, depending on several factors such as roof size, material, labor rates, building type, and local code requirements.
Several factors influence roof repair cost, including the extent of the damage, roof accessibility, material type, labor costs, and whether it’s a general repair or an emergency fix. Minor repairs can start around $150–$400, while major repairs may exceed $1,500.
Roof leak repair cost generally ranges from $300 to $800, depending on the size and location of the leak, the materials required, and labor intensity. Complex leaks involving structural repairs or interior damage will cost more.
Flat roof repair cost for commercial properties usually ranges from $500 to $3,000, depending on the roofing material (TPO, EPDM, PVC), the extent of the damage, and roof accessibility.
Mobile home roof replacement cost typically ranges from $3,000 to $8,000, making it generally more affordable than traditional home roof replacements, due to smaller size and simpler structure.
It's not necessary to stay home during roof replacement. Roofing work is noisy and can cause vibrations inside the house, which might be uncomfortable. Most homeowners choose to leave during major parts of the project, but our team ensures safety and keeps you updated, whether you're home or not.
The timeline for a roof replacement typically ranges from one to three days, depending on the size and complexity of the roof, weather conditions, and material type. Larger or more intricate roofs may take a bit longer, but we always aim for efficient, timely completion.
To hire a roofing contractor, start by researching local companies with good reviews and proper licensing. Request quotes from multiple contractors, verify their insurance and certifications, and ask for references. Always ensure you get a written contract that outlines the scope of work, timeline, and payment terms.
Check if a roofing company is legit by verifying their business license, insurance, and local certifications. Look for memberships in professional associations, read customer reviews, and ask for recent project references. A legitimate company will be transparent and provide all documentation upon request.
When choosing a roofing company, consider their experience, customer reviews, warranty offerings, and quality of materials. Make sure they provide clear communication, detailed estimates, and a solid portfolio of completed projects. Local expertise is also a major advantage for understanding regional roofing needs.
Warning signs that your roofing contractor might be ripping you off include vague contracts, pressure to pay large upfront deposits, lack of proper documentation, and unexplained price increases. Always ask for itemized estimates and written guarantees, and avoid contractors who avoid answering your questions directly.
