On August 7th 2023 a tornado caused a one hundred foot Oak tree to crush throug one third of our brick home. With the help of our tree Arborer, Elegant Restoration was contacted and Dave Chmura immediately arrived at the scene. The damage was broadcast on local and National news highlighting two elderly residents were rescued from the damage, which was extensive. Elegant sprung into action suggested a personal adjuster to assist with insurance assessment and coordinated removal of debris, damaged furniture and other salvageable keepsakes. Construction teams from roofers, framers, brick masons, painters and finished carpenters turned our home from an environment of rubble into a fine finished product. The subcontractors used by Elegant were masters of their trade and were focused on fine detail. They were friendly, professional and concerned with our suggestions of what the final product would be. Dave and Buck said it could be the same or better and we were not surprised that it went far beyond our expectations. What ever my wife wanted she received a 100 percent statement from Dave and Buck. They are not only excellent contractors but through the months of construction, became friends. The Elegant Staff were significant in maintaining contact with us while solving everyday bank, insurance, payment of subcontractors and personal adjuster problems. They are also a group of new found friends. They treated us as part of their family. My wife and I love all of them and would highly recommend Elegant Restoration for any emergency construction and repair!!

My husband and I were very pleased with the service we
received from Elegant Restoration. From the time we called them about the water damage on the wall and flooring in our dining room, they were very professional and helpful with the details of what was going to take place to get everything done. They also helped out with our insurance company. If I couldn't get an answer from the insurance company Robin or Rebecca would give them a call to explain what was going on and what they needed from them.

Very fortunately we ended up not needing their services, but I just wanted to say that the gentleman that came out (twice) to the house was both professional and very pleasant. If ever we are in a circumstance where we need restoration help, we're calling Elegant Restoration again.

Contacted about water damage - took weeks to get someone out for an estimate. Finally *a month* after initial contact someone came out and they recommended ripping up an entire room of my house that other restoration companies said was totally fine and there was no reason to touch whatsoever.

Said they would send me an estimate, only for the in-office worker to say she was going on PTO and that the estimate would take *at least* 14 days in order to get to me. Usually you would just transition that work to someone else in office...

Over three weeks later and I never heard back or received said estimate. If they didn't want my business, they could have just said so from the get-go instead of giving me the run around for literal months only to completely ghost me.

Elegant Restoration responded the same day when I called about our basement flood. They did a great job removing the old carpet, drying and disinfecting our floors.
They installed a beautiful new floor for us and handled all of the insurance paperwork.

I can’t say enough good things about this company! My house had a flood cause by a burst pipe under the kitchen sink while my daughter was home alone. By the time I got home at 6pm, water was throughout the upstairs and all in the basement. My plumber recommended Elegant Restoration. They arrived within an hour and a half to assess and begin work. The owner, Dave Chmura, sat with me and went over the process and checked my insurance for coverage. The team extracted the water that night and began the long 6mo restoration process. Ashley Mattiello in the office became my best friend haha, as we talked via text and email several times a week. She helped navigate my difficult Insurance Adjuster and coordinated all of the projects along with Buck Chestnut, the project manager. My house is now complete, with new floors, rebuilt cabinets, backsplash, and many other little details. The companies they use to pack out, All Pro and First Team were professional, compassionate and very helpful. When all of my hundreds of boxes were returned, All Pro even stayed and helped me unpack! I am very grateful that the process is over, but I will miss the amazing people I met along the way.

Everyone at Elegant took such good care of my home and concerns after a leak ruined our shower and the dining room below it. Dave and Buck are both incredibly knowledgeable and take the time to explain their plan, what they're looking for, and potential next steps - which I really appreciate as I'm not the handy type. Dealing with such a big disruption is stressful, but Elegant handled every last detail and worked directly my insurance company to sort everything out. I hope to never need a restoration company again, but if I do, it'll be Elegant.

Elegant Restoration is one of very few companies I easily and heartedly enjoy recommending to anyone needing their services. Our home suffered severe water damage to three rooms in our finished basement over Labor Day last year. Dave, the plumber, was there immediately to assess and stop further damage. His suggestion to call Elegant was met with Gary and Callie arriving on Labor Day to start demolition of affected areas. Eleven days later all the damaged parts were gone, drying was completed and spraying for mold had been done. Meeting with Rebecca allayed all fears as to what was to be the restoration process. She took care of everything!! Dealing with an uncooperative insurance adjuster was an essential issue that she handled beautifully. Once work began, EVERY EMPLOYEE, including Buck, Ashley, Robin, and ALL SUBCONTRACTORS were a special group. The folks from Cappy’s who dealt with my wife’s clothes (which were EXTENSIVE). Ryan, Monique, and several others handled it all so professionally with smiles and great attitudes.
Also, electricians Ryan and Glen, painter, Dave, the two carpenters (whose names slip my mind), who did the sheet rock, insulation, ceiling grid replacement, and again, Rebecca who coordinated the closet renovation with Chesapeake Closets. Two other contractors were also used in the process and they both had superb subs ALL who worked successfully with Elegants staff for a beautiful end result. They truly are a 5 STAR COMPANY. !!!!! Many kudos and thanks to super people, as well as superb craftsmen.

Efficient, reliable, knowledgeable. Gary Pink was terrific…super responsive, great communicator and did excellent work. We’ve used them twice after a major sewage pipe burst in our basement and the basement was full of sewage. We would highly recommend them.

Highly recommend Elegant Restoration! We had a leak in our home and contacted Elegant Restoration to assist. From the beginning, their staff were responsive, helpful and patient. They kept us informed throughout the process of repairing the leak, and there were no surprises when it came time for payment. Their team members are honest and will tell you up front what they believe to be the issue. Dave came out initially and told us exactly what he believed was the issue and connected us to the right people to fix it. He told us up front what he believed the cost would be. Ashley helped us to coordinate staff to come to our home and let us know in advance the name of the person they were sending so we knew what to expect. Gary and Buck came to our home throughout the process and told us exactly what they were doing, and what to expect next. I cannot recommend Elegant Restoration enough! My experience with Elegant Restoration was literally pain-free. Their service was excellent from the initial inspection team through the finance and negotiation staff. Absolutely fantastic company to work with. After a large storm tore through my area my home was left with substantial damage.

Ashley, Rebecca, and the rest of the team made the process as easy as possible. They navigated all the complexities of my specific homeowners policy to make sure I received the proper payment. They also coordinated all the repairs and made sure they were done in a timely manner.

During the whole process, Ashley kept me completely in the loop and provided me with regular status updates.

So glad we chose Elegant Restoration to completely remodel a bathroom for my aging mother-in-law. The entire process went flawlessly and we were constantly informed when each phase of the remodel was going to be completed. Safety was a big concern and multiple grab bars were installed to help prevent falls. We chose not to install shower doors at this time to make it easier for assistance while showering. Our basement flooded during an unusually heavy rainstorm on a Tuesday evening. Bob Sansbury came out to assess the damage during the storm, helped with the water cleanup, and then had the remediation team out to our house early on Wednesday morning. Rebecca communicated everything that Elegant Restoration would do and what I could expect to happen and made the process very simple. Jaime was the remediation team leader and did a fantastic job of getting everything cleaned up, and my basement dried out in less than 3 days. I would definitely recommend using them!

We enlisted the services of Elegant Restoration after a fire broke out at our neighbors home and spread to our house (townhomes). The damage to our home was mostly water damage, with the exception of the roof. I contacted Elegant about doing the work to rebuild our house. Dave, the owner, met me at our home and we walked through the house to assess the damage while waiting for our insurance company to put an estimate together. Dave was honest and upfront about the timeline of when they could start and how long the project would take. When the estimate was received we met with Dave and Rebecca at the house and did another walk through of the house going over what would be done. Rebecca kept in contact with us by email as the project got underway, letting us know what would be happening and when. Buck was our project manager and he couldn't have been better. He explained things to us when we had questions and was very responsive when we wanted to change some things. The whole project took nearly a year, which we were prepared for following our initial meeting with Dave.
We are completely satisfied with the work that was done. I would recommend Elegant Restoration to anyone who finds themselves in a situation like we experienced.

Elegant Restoration has been The Harford Center's go-to for emergency clean-up services. After a significant flood to our bottom floor, Elegant Restoration was immediately available to restore our building so that our participants were able to return to service. When we are closed, the people we support can't see their friends, do their scheduled activities, and miss out on opportunities for skill building and socialization. Elegant Restoration made us a priority and got us back up and running in no time!

Julie, Dave and all of the Elegant Restoration (ER) team are the definition of professional. We recently had a yellow jacket infestation in our home. They understood the urgency, recommended the pest control company and are now restoring our living room walls to their original condition. I guess this relationship with ER was meant to “bee”!

We have recently had an emergency at our home that required repair, involving our homeowners insurance. In the beginning of the engagement with Elegant Restoration, I was told multiple times that their team would work with my insurance company (they knew my insurance from the beginning).

After someone from their team came out to review the damage, and a number of emails and phone calls later, they said that we should go through our insurance company to find a different contractor, because they "don't work well with my insurance" (a major home insurance carrier).

My feedback for Elegant Restoration is that you should have told me from the beginning that you don't work with my insurance, and I wouldn't have wasted time moving forward with you. Don't tell people "we'll work with your insurance to figure it out", then completely change your tone when it's time to start work.

Do better.

I hired Elegant Restoration to remediate a sewage back up into our basement. They promptly attended to my matter and had an entire crew to my house within 24 hours. They were extremely helpful with getting the insurance claim paid and were always available to take my calls and return my emails promptly. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of emergency remediation work.

We are extremely pleased with the new bathroom that we had Elegant Restoration do for us. The job was done quickly and with excellent craftsmanship. Everyone at Elegant was super to work with and always responsive. We definitely recommend them for anyone looking for a restoration or remodeling project.

My son used Elegant when his basement flooded. They completely took over and professionally took care of all necessary improvements, way beyond what was expected. They were very patient with processing the insurance claim. Would recommend them to everyone. Five

Quick to respond to my family room flood (washing machine issue) and easy to work with to get everything cleaned up and dried.

It was a very complicated job with a hole in the side of the house requiring deck and wall and roof removal and replacement. Dave, Ashley and Rebecca were easy to work with, responsive with answers, details and the timeline for the work to be completed. All the workers were experienced and professional doing a 1st class job. We are more than happy with the results. The pictures don't do it justice.

We had a flooded basement, they were able to get here in just over an hour. Very professional, had to pull up all of our flooring. Fans ran for 3 days, they checked progress on day 2. Left the area ready to be put back together.

I was referred to Elegant Restoration by a friend after my wife and I lost our home to a fire. From the very first call I made to them, they were always responsive with any and all questions we had about what to do with our situation. They showed up when they said they would. Their team was very thorough when it came to documenting the damage to our home and what the best way to go about getting it fixed would be. They provided great information and were very friendly to deal with. I would recommend Dave and his team to anyone who may find themselves in the same situation we were to get you back on your feet.

We woke up one morning to find about an inch of water throughout our basement and rising. Our sump pump stopped working overnight and water kept coming in due to a heavy ran the night before. Our first call was to Rebecca at Elegant Restoration. Rebecca coordinated everything. She had a crew to my house within an hour to start the cleanup and scheduled a plumber to replace the sump pump. Buck, Jamie, Gary, their crew, and Tyler the plumber were great. Once the pump was replaced and the water removed, they set up industrial fans to dry everything out. Unfortunately, the floor did not survive. The floors in the office area, storage, and laundry rooms all needed to be replaced. Although having Elegant continue with the repairs was optional, we stayed with them to coordinate the replacing of the floors and painting. Rebecca worked directly with our insurance company for the covered cleanup and repairs cost. Since this was the second time we went through this we opted to upgrade to a waterproof, glue-down vinyl floor. Rebecca, Ashley, and Samantha kept us informed of the progress until completion. We were extremely satisfied.

We have a full length floor to ceiling mirror fall off the wall. What a mess it made. Elegant Restoration came to our rescue. Dave, Jaime and Cali did an amazing clean up job. Thank you everyone for a job well done !!!!!

We had a flood from our sump pump in the basement. We called our insurance company and they gave us some names. We called Elegant Restoration and they came out same day to remove the water and dry out our basement so we didn’t get mold. Dave Chmura came to our home and did a complete home inspection including our garage. He was thorough and so honest about our problem. He referred us to someone he respected because our problem was not the type of problem his company handled. He was so nice and competent and spent an hour with us describing what he thought the problem could be and then refused payment for the time he spent at our house! In today’s world, who does this? I can’t recommend Elegant Restoration enough. Also, Ashley and the entire office staff was great!

We had a water leak that caused substantial damage. 2000 sq ft of flooring and multiple water spots on ceiling and walls. The owner Dave responded quickly and explained the entire process to me. His manager Ashley was my go to in the office. She responded to any requests my insurance co needed pretty much immediately. Dave and Ashley were a huge help with this project. Had a pipe burst the week of Thanksgiving and the plumber recommended Elegant for the clean up and restoration. They were very responsive, making a site visit within an hour or two while the plumbing repair was still going on. They began work immediately and kept in close contact in the days following. I recommend their professional service!

I had a great experience with Elegant Restoration. I had a chimney fire and the water damage from the fire department was brutal. My insurance agent actually recommended them to me the night of the fire. Dave was so understanding of our stressfull situation. His entire team was polite, respectful and diligent with their work. Ashley was super helpful with all the paperwork and organization of times and dates, and assisted me with anything I needed. Buck had all the contractors in line and took care of all my "extra" requests.
I hope to never need them again, but if I have issues like this in the future, I will call Dave at Elegant right away!
Side note - Elegant was not hanging outside my house while it was still on fire handing out business cards trying to get business like other companies. Again, I found Elegant respectful and understanding. 5 stars all day long!!!

The day my wife and I left to go away on vacation it was poring down rain. We checked the house and the water pump to make sure all was well. The next day we received a call from from our son. The sump pump had stopped working and the rec room was flooded. At the time we were in Aruba. Luckily my brother-in-law had worked with Elegant Restoration and got them in the house that same day. The issue at hand (aside from the house flooding) was our son was holding his wedding reception in our house in three weeks. When I returned home I met with Dave and he assured me he could meet that deadline. I am forever grateful to Dave and his crew. Everyone was courteous and professional. And the wedding reception came off as planned. I have turned to Elegant Restoration for other home maintenance issues . And will continue to trust in their crew and company.

I had positive experiences with all employees involved. Dave came over to my house within a day of my calling to request help. Jaime and Cali were pleasant and efficient. They explained everything they were going to do - and then did it. They cleaned up completely when they were finished. Ashley kept me informed about scheduling and scheduling problems. Hands down one of the most professional and skillfully competent companies our family has ever used. My Mom was referred to Elegant by the plumber after sustaining water damage within multiple levels and rooms. Elegant assessed the situation within a couple of hours and a plan was put into place. We had family weddings and out of town guests and Elegant made sure the process worked around us. We received emails and phone calls with next steps during the entire process. Everyone on their team, and I mean everyone, were professional and kind. Their communication with our elderly Mom was admirable. The workmanship was excellent. Great company.

After a bad septic backup in our basement, we hired Elegant Restoration to mitigate damage. The company came in under 24 hours on a weekend (from the moment we realized there was a problem), and they removed all contaminated items and cleaned our basement completely. The people who completed the mitigation - Jaime, Cali, and Gary, were all excellent and very professional and it was greatly appreciated during a dismaying time. They were also faster than expected. We are very happy with the work.

We are very pleased--the new floor looks great. From start to finish, EE were courteous, friendly, and provided a superb end result. Our foyer floor is an engineered-wood floor, installed over a concrete pad. Due to a leak, water collected between the concrete and the flooring. Elegant Restoration (EE) promptly provided an assessment and estimate, which we accepted. They proceeded with expert installation of a new floor. After the installation, a painter from EE painted the newly caulked floor molding. Clean up was excellent. The new foyer flooring exceeded our expectations.

It's called Elegant for a reason. The Owner is the first on the scene providing expert advice and extremely Professional and Kind. The Restoration team comes in ready to work, they lay the tarps on the floor through out and clean up after every visit, The office team is very professional and help guide you throughout the process. I recently had a leak in my furnace, it was not insurance related, I called Buck explained the situation, the team was here right away. Elegant is my go to for any work, the final result is Elegant!

Dave from Elegant Restoration was at our home the same day we called (the day after a fire). He promptly appraised the damage, suggested a full plan of repairs, and had his crew on site the following day. All employees and subcontractors were extremely skilled, knowledgeable, and cooperative, with great attitudes across the board. I made 3 calls when the pipe burst. Elegant was the first to respond and had a crew there in a little more than an hour (during the NFL playoffs). They had the situation under control in a few hours and were back over the next 3 days removing wet materials, running fans to prevent mold, and continuing to secure the property. It took the insurance company 6 weeks to pay them and never once did they complain. This team rocks!! They knew what the process was and were extremely helpful in their guidance. I hope you do not need restoration services, but if you do...use Elegant.

Dave was very responsive, and his team was at my house the same day I called and within a day they had cleaned out the affected area and cleaned up all the mess so that it was easy to get my insurance company to do the estimate for repairs. To add to this, I was out of town and Dave was able to still get everything done before I even got home. I highly recommend them.

Awesome company, showed up right away and immediately worked to mitigate and dry up water damage from leaking pipe. Professional and hard working employees took immediate steps to respond and prevent further damage, remove and dry up mess, and I would hire again and price reasonable

After experiencing a significant water leak from a faulty shower enclosure, I contacted Elegant Restoration for a potential damage assessment. They were great. Came to the house within an hour of my call and evaluated the situation. To my relief I was told not to worry, the moisture issue would resolve itself. I would definitely recommend this company.

What do you do when you receive a call at 3am from your tenant advising the hot water heater broke and you not only have water in your condo but the water has flooded the unit below? Call Elegant Restoration. From the first call it was nothing but professional and quick responses. There was a restoration crew on the premises very quickly and within hours they also had a great plumber there installing a new hot water heater. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with everyone from Elegant and I would recommend them to everyone and would definitely use them again.

We were overseas when we learned from our caretaker that we had experienced a water leak that had entered into the subfloor. Elegant Restoration was recommended by our caretaker and we initiated a mitigation project. Working via the internet from Asia we coordinated with the Elegant team to pack out the house and do a full mitigation reversing the effects of the leak. The Elegant team worked seamlessly with the insurer to organize the financing. And the work, which included many varying tasks, proceeded to a successful and highly satisfactory conclusion.
We were so impressed by the mitigation effort that when the time came to enclose a second story porch to create an extra room we contracted with Elegant to do the job. Right through the worst of the pandemic Elegant's craftsmen worked safely and effectively to create a new space that is incorporated fully into the house. We cannot say enough good things about this outfit. They receive our highest praise and always exceeded our expectations.

Loved using this company! My basement flooded twice, and they were our call both times. They restored our basement and was able to save a significant amount of what we had down there for an incredibly affordable price and were immediately responsive to our need. If our basement ever were to flood again, which hopefully will never happen lol, they will be our first call again!

The Town of Centreville awarded remediation of fire damage to Elegant and was very pleased with the service, attention to detail, quality of work, and practiced facility in dealing with insurance matters.

Our family is extremely thankful to Elegant Restoration as they were instrumental in helping us finish installing a kitchen. We started the process a few years ago and then everything came to a halt when our grandson who was born perfectly healthy experienced a devastating injury right after birth that changed his life forever. The injury caused major brain damage and left him with multiple disabilities.
We held full-time jobs, but we knew our grandson would require around the clock care and that one of us would have to stay home to care for him. With that said, financially we had not been able to finish the kitchen. When Dave and Julie of Elegant Restoration heard about our grandson, they made a commitment to help us finish our kitchen by pulling together some of their resources, and with donations of materials and people volunteering their time and talents to finish it we now have a kitchen that will accommodate our grandson’s special equipment.
The Elegant Restoration team not only did fabulous work, but they were organized, cleaned up every day before they left our house and removed all debris at completion of the work. The office staff and the guys out in the field are terrific to work with. We highly recommend them!

The team was very professional and examined our basement carefully for areas of high moisture readings. They were able to provide a detailed report with photos on their findings within a week and a half of inspection. In our particular case, no cleanup or restoration was required only a detailed inspection. I would highly recommend this company.

Yesterday, the rain storms produced about 2” of water in less than 15 hours. I called Elegant Restoration Inc and Dave answered the phone
and had one of his employees Buck immediately respond to the home in less than 15 minutes. Buck was able to diagnose and remedy the situation. They are professional, personable and great to work with.

The team at Elegant Restoration, from those in the office, to those doing the "dirty" work, was wonderful to work with! Helpful, knowledgable and an absolute pleasure. They made you feel at ease during a stressful time. Everything from the painting, carpeting to ceiling was done extremly well. They handled things with our insurance to make it as easy as they could on us. I highly recommend working with them! A class act who does top notch work!

Fast and efficient service with good follow-up when there was an added problem with reinstalling a kitchen cabinet and under lighting. The water damage was extensive under the refrigerator and extended to the dishwasher side of the kitchen. There was a delay waiting for new replacement materials that no one could help, but we are happy our kitchen is back to our high standards again. Elegant did what was necessary to make it right.

Dave and his crew at Elegant Restoration have helped us tremendously in multiple water/flood situations in the two homes we've owned in Harford County. They are immediate to respond and remediate the situation and could not be more professional and pleasant to work with! Highly recommend!!

Elegant Restoration helped repair my roof when my wife noticed water damage. They did a great job with the repair and making my house look even better than it was before!
