E81 designed & built our covered 3-season porch + open deck. We're very pleased with the outcome. It's beautiful and functional. Other contractors we consulted were unable to design to our requirements because we wanted to connect a gable roof for the porch with the existing shed roof from the house. Rafael figured out how to do this and his team executed splendidly. Rafael and his team were a pleasure to work with--always responsive and thoroughly accomodating.

Raphael did a great job with our deck and back patio. It was professionally done within a great timeframe and he was very easy to work with, and reasonably priced. When something turned out to be not working as well as it should a couple of months after the fact, he and his team came by to fix it without a second thought. Rafael built us a screened in porch and wrapped our house with Hardiplank. The porch design was innovative and we are very happy with the finished product. Rafael was responsive to questions throughout and provided helpful advice when the inevitable issues arose. His crew are very nice guys and hard workers.

Bathroom remodel in Rockville
This was an Aging in Place Conversion project. I chose E81 Studio for the simple, secure, practical and elegant design, and for the safety features for seniors now and in the future. The contractor carefully prepared the job site protecting doors, floors, and corridor from dust and scratches, closely supervised his team daily ensuring an impeccable job free of debris and dust at the end of the day, without any obstacles in my daily use of the apartment. He also recommended the type and placing of shower grab bars, and a plus was his great idea of having a simple hand shower with warm water for the toilet instead of the complicated electronic shower toilet seat.
It has been a pleasant experience to see how E81 Studio has transformed this important space into a beautiful and spacious "en suite" for my bedroom. I highly recommend this company.

Rafael and E81Studio redesigned, upgraded and resurfaced our deck and railing and made it longer, wider and more functional without affecting our flowering plants and landscaping. It is spacious and comfortable.

My wife and I used Rafael Huguet and E81Studio to remodel our kitchen. Although we did not anticipate remodeling our deck, the kitchen was so beautiful and open that it made our deck look old, dowdy and out of place.

My wife and I have contemplated remodeling our kitchen in our McLean home for some time. However, we have been leery of dealing with many contractors who offer techno-speak, promises and bells and whistles.

We just completed the remodeling of the kitchen of our McLean, VA home using the design firm of E8I Design and Build owned by Rafael Huguet. Rafael has broad experience working on projects in the McLean, Great Falls, Bethesda and Chevy Chase and greater Washington, D.C. areas and in a vast array of projects internationally (Europe, Asia and the Americas).

Mr. Huguet devotes much time to the planning process and will repeatedly meet with the client to discuss ideas and alternatives. He will accompany his clients to assist in the selection of cabinet, counter tops, tiles, backsplashes etc. to ensure that each kitchen is unique, modern yet practical and utilitarian.

Mr. Huguet is on site daily along with his crew to ensure that all work is done correctly, within code and of the highest quality. E81 performed an addition to my already existing Brick Paver. The update E81 performed was of much better quality and design than the original contractor I hired 3 years ago. They not only updated the pavers, they installed grass around the paver to complete the look. Normally contractors try to get over, E81 did not. Kudos to the Team and the PM who I contracted this work out too. I highly recommend E81 to perform your next home project as I will be using them going forward!

We were gratified to be recommended the services of Rafael Huguet and E81 Design & Build. Rafael listened to what we wanted and spent time with us to refine our vision, then produced a first design that expertly combined our vision and our space. Working with Rafael contrasted sharply with a previous disappointing engagement with a large design firm that provided unimaginative computer-generated plans that were nothing like our expressed vision.

We worked very collaboratively with Rafael and our contractors received from him very clear and accurate design plans to execute. The result was an elegant new porch and sweeping masonry stairs to a driveway surrounded by stately brick masonry and walls. The project has given our house tremendous curb appeal, draws continual praise from our neighbors and guests, and delights us every day with with its form and function.
