Rob and Dry Creek came to inspect a family home for me. Having had a few home inspections in the past, this was one of the most thorough in many ways as Rob made it a point to meet us onsite and walk us through the things he found and noticed. He explained everything well including how some things had changed with modern building methods and codes compared to when the home was built. He was there to answer questions well beyond what would be expected of someone who you asked to come do an inspection job. The work he does and report he provides are worth well more than the price he charges.

I highly recommend Robert at Dry Creek Home Inspections. He was incredibly thorough and helpful throughout the home inspection process when we purchased our home in Lewisburg area in WV. Very responsive and provided insights/options to resolve issues identified. He even researched new home features he and I were not familiar with to ensure he could confirm they were in proper order/condition. As a buyer, one should want an inspector to do a thorough inspection and document everything (from small to big issues) so one knows what they are actually buying. I have been in the unfortunate situation before of using a different home inspector here in White Sulphur Springs. This previous inspector came highly recommended from my former realtor. I believe that he came so highly recommended because he did such an outstanding job of finding nothing wrong with my house so the sale could proceed with minimal interference. On the day of the inspection, he took over 6 hours inspecting the home and took even more time walking us through every concern or notable issue he found after he was done. I never felt like he was in a rush and he always gave us and the house his complete focus. Robert was polite, respectful, and easy to work with and he did not try to sugar-coat issues, convince us one way or the other in our decisions, make any outlandish observations beyond his qualifications, or give us the slightest reason to doubt his credibility. There were several things that he tested and checked that would never have occured to me and he truly gave us the confidence that we needed to move forward with the purchase.

Within a few days after the inspection, he provided us with a 68 page detailed inspection report complete with pictures, clear descriptions, insightful observations, ratings for each issue, and sometimes even diagrams depicting house codes and standards. He was available and willing to answer any questions we had on the report and even went back to the house for a 2nd look for no extra charge. His inspection report was an essential tool in our negotiations and a document that I know I will be referencing for years to come as we continue to make improvements to the house. This was the 2nd house I have bought and I know from personal experience that the last thing you want, after making one of the biggest purchases of your life, is to move in and be surprised by an issue that should have been caught by the home inspector. Robert found several issues with the house of varying severity. Some issues gave us serious pause and reason for concern, however the level of detail in the inspection report gave us the confidence that we could understand the scope of each problem. Eventually we were able to receive estimates for the major repairs and negotiate some of them as a part of our purchase agreement.

He is exactly what a home inspector should be and I want him to inspect any house I plan on buying in the future. If you are buying or selling a home I cannot recommend Robert enough!
